Paul Pry Pub Restaurant in Peterborough

Been before and was ridiculously slow so hasn’t been, but as was staying in hotel alone for work thought I’d try again, still appalling service, took 5 minutes for someone to come and even sit me down. waited over 40 minutes before paying for my drink and leaving, there was no more than 4 tables in the whole pub. When telling them they had didn’t have a word say about it. Poor management and poor staff. Need a serious overhaul.

Paul Pry Pub is closed. It has been taken over by Premier Inn and open to hotel guests only. Had dinner at this place. A terrible experience. Small portions of frozen food, fried and highly priced.

Had a lovely breakfast . . Plenty of continental choice . Hot food was nice hot and fresh . Belinda and Jan very friendly and welcoming

We visited with friends as a group of 4 on a Saturday night a few weeks back. We sat down at about 8pm and ordered starters (when we were eventually given menus). We then ordered our main courses after we had eaten our starters at around 8.45pm. At 9.06pm the chef then came to our table to inform us that the kitchen was closed and that they would not be cooking our main meals after all. The chef was utterly useless and couldn’t even be bothered to explain himself properly. Totally laziness and horrendous customer service. The place is a complete shambles! The bar manager tried to salvage our evening by getting us some puddings after the chef had gone home which we appreciated but we will never return here again. I recommend you avoid at all costs if you actually want to receive any food. We have since emailed twice to complain and have received no response - what a truly awful company!

The manager was brilliant, prepared for our visit, had a tray ready for my Dad who is in a wheelchair and made us feel incredibly valued even though they were clearly very busy

Definitely value for money, fully stocked continental buffet and freshly cooked breakfast. Vegetarian options were tasty and food was hot. Was pleasantly greeted and served by Amanda. Would recommend a visit. Plus 2 children eat free with one paying adult.

They desperately need more staff or to organise this restaurant better. Tried to have an evening meal and at 7.30pm they were turning people away! There is clearly staffing shortages in the hospitality sector....I am from the industry myself and was a restaurant manager for 7 years and NEVER did I turn paying customers away!! It seems that they have no Interest in serving customers anymore. Overhaul needed.

Service reached 3 stars because our server (Dean) was genuinely helpful and took our orders when asked quickly and efficiently. They also appeared to be the only one actually working as I didn’t see another member of staff on the floor other than behind the bar. However on the previous occasion and this occasion the food wasn’t great. Including incorrect meals coming out of the kitchen. However on this occasion we were approached once for drinks order with no follow up! Waited over an hour and a half for our food to be delivered to the table. This is only because I called a member of staff over and asked how long, such a coincidence it then arrived at this time. However not such a coincidence because the food come out cold, so must of been ready a while. The standards of the food did not come out as expected with Yorkshire Puddings tasting stale. You could tell it had been sat under a heat lamp for a while At no point did anyone let us know food was an hour wait, not once did anyone ask if we would like any more drinks, nor did anyone come back and ask if the food was okay. On two out of two occasions the Paul Pry has been let down by its staff, there is no organisation, staff are running around aimlessly dean on this occasion and a few others on previous occasion. The staff on both occasion do not seem to be trained to a high enough standard you would expect and sometimes cannot answer basics. On the previous occasion there was a power cut, so we ate under torch light and we were still expected to pay full price, and when told we only had Apple Pay and card we were ordered to go find a cash machine. Even a small discount for sitting under our own lighting would have been great. One of the group were late to work because of this, as we had to wait for a manager to arrive from Hampton as no one had a clue what to do!

Great service! Very attentive and helpful! Food was lovely! A large party of 13 but this didn’t prevent the food from being out in a timely manner.

We were staying at the premier inn Peterborough north. The restaurant serves the hotel breakfast . We were greeted by Lucy on our first morning . She made us feel very welcome. The food was amazing, as was the service . Lovely selection of pastries, yogurts , fruit, and cereal . Full English was well cooked and delicious. Veggie options are available. Amazing value, as both kids eat free. Great selection of hot and cold items, more than enough for us all, plus veggie breakfast items and oat milk.too. Was extremely busy and short-staffed, but everyone was polite and friendly, filling up and clearing away as soon as they could. Would recommend!

We were met as soon as we walked in by Amanda who looked after us throughout a really good meal. The starters, mains and desserts were all good portions and very tasty.

Great place for a family meet up. We travelled from Carlisle and had a meal with 14 family members and it was great. Great food, excellent staff service. Couldn’t fault it. Stayed at premier inn on site and that was perfect for the occasion too.

We booked for dinner here, first impressions were the place needs some tlc as it looks quite dated, there was a ‘festive’ menu on offer so we thought we’d give it a try, starters were ok, the main of roast turkey wasn’t great at all, most of the veg were obviously cooked from frozen, the turkey was passable, the Yorkshire pudding was like cake, gravy was a slight drizzle, we notice they also do Christmas meals, if this had been served up for our Christmas lunch we’d have been extremely disappointed, desserts were ok. Breakfast the following morning was chaotic, all self serve buffet style apart from the cooked food, the buffet was ok but the cooked breakfast took over half an hour to arrive.

Went in to book Christmas day for mum , hubby and me stayed for lunch. Served by Amanda and Jay and they were fab. Let mum order from children's menu as they understood her needs as big plates put her off. Sorted our table so we could get wheelchair in without issue. Food was lovely but the service was better.

As this is our local, we eat here regularly and have even held business meetings here. Today we met here as a family for Sunday lunch. We had a table booked so that was fine but there was food smashed into the carpet under the table and the table was sticky before we even started. It took over 30 minutes and one of our party going to the bar to get our orders taken. The drinks then took another 15 minutes to appear and there was no ice in any of them even though we had requested it. The waitress had no idea what beers/lagers were available and then the order had to be changed as nothing was available on tap. After another 15 minutes the meals arrived. At that point some of the party asked for more drinks. We finished our meals and waited another 30 minutes (during which time one of the family went to the bar to enquire about the drinks) and yet the drinks still did not arrive. Nobody cleared our plates and we were not asked if we wanted pudding. In the end we had to go to the bar and pay the bill. I was especially annoyed as one of the additional drinks ordered was for a feeding mother who requires regular fluids.

This establishment requires a full renovation and cleaning review. Carpets are filthy, sticky and smell. Tables are sticky. Place looks run down. Staff on entering the establishment ignore you, had to wait for someone to come out from the back to serve as was told by the waitress to wait. Poor customer service. My gin arrived at my table after a very long wait, the gin was warm, tonic was flat, no ice or slice. I had to ask for this. Food was ok, nothing special but obviously microwaved. The menus felt sticky. The table was sticky. Toilets are awful, unclean and unhygienic. I will not be returning until the whole place is renovated, staff improve attitudes and cleaning and food quality is improved. Sadly this could be a very good business however it's grim.

Dirty sticky carpet and tables, ceiling vents broken full of dust. More spiders webs then my shed. Food & Drink expensive, most items not available. Standard of food poor, steak was that under cooked it was still mooing Staff although friendly were unprofessional swearing jumping around and dragging tables around the place whilst people trying to eat. Honestly avoid if possible

We had a meal in the restaurant and then drinks with family and friends in the bar for family members 80th. The staff where very helpful from booking to the event. They even let us stay inside whilst waiting for our lift at the end of the night. We would recommend them for this sort of event ! Thanks to the team
