Went there recently after a break of about a year and found it quite disappointing. Seems they are now only doing carboard cups, and paper napkins for plates. Cake range seems to have decreased. I used to quite enjoy visiting this place before lockdown as it had a nice atmosphere and quality service, even if it was a little more expensive, Now its like going into a Starbucks or Costa. I think they had better try to improve things pretty quick or their loyal customers will find somewhere else to go.

Para una 'cafetería', las fiestas aquí son realmente muy superiores a cualquiera de las otras cadenas, ¡siempre frescas y absolutamente deliciosas!

Early in the morning I visit this place. The coffee is great. I would recommend to make sandwiches without butter. .

Plenty of choice on Kigsway but being located a little way from the tube station seems to help keep this location a little less fraught! Good quality food and refreshments and chirpy staff 😁

We are familiar with this chain in Europe and were delighted to find it in London. As a couple of Aussies we were shell shocked at the prices in London. Rather than spend the sum of about $50.00 to $60.00 AUD for two us for breakfast we sashayed out the back door of our hotel and had an almond croissant and a coffee. With these London prices we could see ourselves prematurely returning to our far flung corner of the Empire prior to our anticipated 6 weeks in the UK. All jokes aside Paul provides an inexpensive alternative to hotel breakfasts.

Been going to Paul for years before it came to the UK. Always loved the Lille Paul when there were only one or two. Guess now owned by a big company. In the day this was family owned. However this should not detract from the fact that the food and coffees are very good. Not mass produced rubbish and for a chain no complaints. I like this branch and staff very helpful. Sandwiches very French. Recommend.

I remember when the Paul cafe opened on Marylebone High Street, it was fab and it felt like a proper French boulangerie brunch cafe. That was probably ten years ago and it seems this chain has now morphed into a franchised bland name. Pity. Maybe it was our fault for wanting a cup of tea (even though we are coffee drinkers) as it was late afternoon. Note number one, do not bother going in there for a cup of tea. They have no idea how to serve it. Two of us ordered Earl Grey so I asked if we could have that in a pot (for two, I wasn't asking to share a pot for one). I was promptly told this wasn't going to happen. Tea is served in mugs the size of the medium Starbucks buckets or even bigger. Then because they have put one tea bag in said bucket they fill it to the brim with boiling water, as the teabags are the catering type - tiny with a string and label - it takes forever to turn the shed load of boiling water into anything closely resembling a cup of tea - and I do not like strong tea, don't get me wrong I wasn't wanting something dark brown reeking of tannin. Consequently it was so hot you couldn't get near it for ages, my son burned his mouth on his. The coffee drinker in our group was feeling rather smug at this point. I had attempted to ease the disappointment of lack of pot by ordering two pastries to go with, the apple kind of Danish pastry type thing was quite tasty but then came the smallest doughnut in the history of all things doughnut, I kid you not, smaller than a small Scotch egg and it was £2.75. Yes, I was an idiot to pay that as my fellow diners pointed out but I was trying to make something nice of the service - or lack of - and presentation of what we had already ordered. Live and learn, will avoid all branches from now on

Coffee is weak so give it a miss if like me you want it strong and tasty.Asked for hot milk on the side and got cold. Costa so far is the best some of the time. Of course all these places are hit and miss.

Avoid bad service bad food The most unfriendly staff ever worked at this cafe bakery and I do know the place for 20 years. Good used to be much much better. On top of that the prices gone hugely.

If you're looking for the best crêpes in town, don't miss the original crêpe stand—it's amazing and totally worth the visit! Be careful not to confuse it with the new stand next door run by a local pub; it doesn't match the quality of the original. Stick with the best!

Popped in after visiting a late slot at nearby Lightroom Hockney show for some quiet drinks as other venues nearby are large, impersonal and noisy. We sat inside at the bar although there is lots of outdoor seating too looking out onto Coal Drop Year. This is a pretty standard wine bar, with a good selection of wines, impersonal and indifferent service with more of a tradition wine bar ambience under the rail arches. Can't really fault it at a basic level, but it's a shame the owners won't make more effort to provide a basic customer service level or wine expertise, but welcome to Britain 2023.
