I have been eating food from Pau Baji since the 1980's. At that time they were based on Eggington Road and the shop was called Milan. This Family run business, Started by Paresh is one of Leicester's originals. I still visit whenever I am in town

This shop has closed down. Very sad times. I been going here for the past 15 years and the food has been so good however I recently drove through leicester ( i live in London) and it was closed, asked next door and appartunarely they haven't opened since locked down.

Really poor service. I asked a question and I was not listened to properly and the lady serving me just said yes. When it came out wrong I was told I could not return it or get something else. I went out and returned for a refund then was given a exchange. I was even asked to pay the difference of a minor 5p. I gave it because to me its not about the money. I pay for the food which in the end was OK, I have had it better before. I do however pay for a service as well. The treatment was different as clearly the lady who came in after me who seemed like a regular was spoken to properly and was given a smile. At the beginning I was even patient as I walked and kindly waited at first because the lady behind the counter was on the phone. This is not good enough and treatment to all customers should be the same.

Good for snacks etc. Reasonably priced. The wait can b a bit long at times. Finding a parking here is not always easy. I guess, it's best to place an order over the phone in advance to save time.

Very poor quality of food. My advice if you looking for healthy vegetarian shop this is not for you. This Shop was best many years ago but now they sale inside of Thali readymade tins curry just worm up and sale. Roti also readymade just worm up and sale. Don't expect they cook fresh there. Very poor quality of food.

Same style all the time, it’s about time they should try something new! Very good pricess with very sweet costmer service, As time cahnge they really need to improve in more wider quality and different items! All the best to that young owner!! 👍

Waited 10 mins to be served (seem to be just one lady running around). Another customer was complaining also about the wait. Asked for a bean burger and they said they dont do them (maybe take if off your menu?) Asked for ambli chips to be told they run out of ambli. Put up a sign then so people dont waste their time waiting around. I walked out in the end without ordering anything. Disgrace

I agree the place has gone down hill. It used to be on my list of go places for a decent quickish lunch. The Pau Bhaji just isn’t of the same standard and I’m sure they’ve cut down on portion sizes Have they changed owners? One of the regular ladies I remember, doesn’t appear appear to be there anymore.

Worst experience. Ordered 2 thalis with the same curry, was given 2 different curry which was tasted like leftovers from the day before. Used to be very nice before, don’t know what’s happened now. Bhaturas was not well cooked and very hard to chew. New unfamiliar staff with not a lot of knowledge. Portions were too small which was really embarrassing in front of guests. Would not recommend.

I always order my Lunch from here. 5x Veg Samosas for £1 and Tea. Havn't tried anything else. The reason why I have given the rating as 3 is because I believe Pau Bhaji needs to improve on the way they serve their customers and how they store food that has been ordered via the telephone. I noticed that they store all ordered food is one big basket and the smell from one food goes into the other. Sometimes even the Tea tasted wierd. If all this improves then PauBhaji would be hitting the tops once again but until then, I await for their improvement.

Got a can of iron bru a few weeks ago and it was out of date. Went in today and ordered chips with cheese. Extra 35p for cheese and hardly put any on. Lady serving comes across very rude and not good at understanding orders

Used to go here a few years ago,was not bad, it's now probably the worst takeaway in the area. It's been sliding down hill for some time now, and can honestly say it has hit rock bottom. Food, not cooked well, no taste to the food, served cold as is the service, all round terrible.

We had always bought from Pau Bhajji and the food has always been really delicious, they had even catered for one of our events with about 250 guests. However, the last few times we have ordered the Thalis from Pau Bhajji, the food has been of real poor quality. Food had far too much oil and didn't smell fresh, the pilau rice we had ordered had gone off on the day ordered. We didn't complain then as we thought it may be a one off. Yesterday, we had ordered 3 thalis at midday, by the time we had started to eat, say about an hour later, the dhaal had gone off. Surely if the dhaal was made in the morning it shouldn't have gone off within the few hours of purchase as it was pretty cool day. We phoned to complain, and the lady who served us apologised and said we should throw the dhaal away and instead she will replace with another dish. However, when we went back to Pau Bhaji later on, and the owner insisted he wanted to speak to us on the phone. He argued with my mum that his food was ok, and that he will only give us some more dhaal and nothing else. My mum had explained that its not about the money or having the food replaced, but the fact that we ordered at midday and the dhaal had already gone off, the food was not to their normal standard. The owner just shouted back and didn't want to accept this was the situation and said that the food should have been tasted before leaving the shop premisses. This is not written anywhere in his shop, and really a pointless comment. We don't normally complain like this but the owner just didn't want to take responsibility and just argued and said we were blackmailing him!! Ridiculous as their was nothing to blackmail about. If this complaint for food which had gone off went to food hygiene authorities, I am sure this would be an issue!!! I just wouldn't recommend anyone eating here again.

Pa Bhaji is part of the Milan group where we have been buying Indian sweets for many years and have always been very satisfied . We were talked into trying Pau Bhaji. We tried a few snack dishes. They were delicious but I found they were too oily for my liking. It is certainly worth a visit if you don't mind greasy food.

They used to serve good food back in time but now they have gone really worse. Pau Bhaji they make is so filthy and full of thick oil. I used to eat from this place but it has been over 2 years now since I haven't visited them. I wouldn't go there again in future unless I hear good review again by someone.

Completely messed up our whole order, and when I rang to complain they made out it was my mistake, when the woman on the phone couldn't even understand my order in the first place. The woman I spoke to on the phone to complain was completely unprofessional and was screaming down the phone at me when it was evidently their fault for giving us the wrong order. This has happened on many occasions and is completely unacceptable. I won't be ordering from them again!

Been to pau bhaji many times, shame about no parking outside. Food is nice and tastes good. Prices are not too bad but have gone up recently. Toasties also are very good. Would recommend and go again.

We go to Paresh on a regular basis for takeaways and have never been disapointed! The food is always fresh and consistently good and more importantly vegetarian and very good value for money. The issue with Leicester is that it is awash with Indian vegetarian places of which the majority are poor or food unoriginal but Paresh breaks the mould! There is always a q there for orders so best advice is to order the food over the phone!

We were again in Leicester, and decided to get take away from Pau Bhaji. £3.00 per thali, we were not disappointed. Food was good. If I was young, I would have felt that quantity was not enough. But to price and to range, one cannot argue.

Eat here many times at one times they main dish PAU BHAJI was the best in the EastMidlands, but last few times the PAU BHAJI dish has tasted worse and even worse if thats possible. Biriyani used to be better then some restaurants but unfort that quality has declined, Cheap and Cheerful is one thing but when quality drops this much then even for free this food isnt worth eating.

We took a takeaway and I had to control my spending as I couldn't stop ordering.we bought gujraati delicacy undhiya with two medium size bhature, pav bhaji with 2 large pav,2 gulab jaamun,2 small packs of shrikhand all this for just 7 pounds!!!!!!! To top it the lady at the counter gave us two packs of jalebi free...may be because we cudn find the takeaway using the satnav and had to call her couple of times. Will for sure visit again to complete my wish list that I had to control the other day ;))

I have no idea how this thali makes any money as its food costs to little (thali from £3.50). If I lived close to here I would never have to cook again! The food is fresh and authentic and always has an extensive vegetarian menu not just thali. Great take out.

I nice little take away which serves good Indian vegetarian food. The food is mostly excellent here, although sometimes it can be too oily. The staff are friendly and the service is fairly good, although sometimes they do get orders mixed up. Price wise it is quite cheap, and I would recommend it especially for the fabulous pau bhaji!
