Very quiet on a Friday but perhaps that's because they were only accepting cash because the card machine was down. Really enjoyed the Choo Chee Pla but was let down by the Som Tam and Pad Thai. Think there is potential here but need to try it again.

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night and it was lovely. The food seemed authentically Thai and the decoration of the restaurant as well. Staff were very friendly and helpful in telling us about the options and the atmosphere was relaxed and peaceful. The food was outstanding, likely the best Thai food I have tasted. All of the dishes we had were delicious, from the starters: the slightly spicy seafood mix soup, the sweet corn cakes and the vegetarian mix. To the main dishes like Chuu Chee (deep-fried sea bass) and the special fried rice with egg. I think my favourite dish was the Gaeng Khew Wan (beef green curry with coconut, number 18) but all of them were worth trying. Would highly recommend!

The food was really good, but the service let the place down, and really couldn't work out why as lots of serving staff milling around. It was the 4th redturant we popped into to get a table on the street and the only one on a January weekend night that we could get in, I wonder why? Shame because the food really was lovely.

Visited on Saturday with my husband and son . The food is absolutely amazing. If you want a relaxed evening ( ie not uptight about ultra quick service) with great vibes then come here . The Sea Bass on the specials menu the best I’ve ever tasted. Next time we come up to visit our son we’ll be back !

Excellent value for money. Crispy duck breast was great along with the Chu Chee prawn curry. Proper authentic family run restaurant. Friendly service and good atmosphere. Support local!

Just returned from Thailand and needed a reminder. Food is very good and authentic.

Had the mixed starters for x3...was expecting something special...but unfortunately it was very bland and boring...chicken satay tasted of reformed meat... my daughter didnt like any of the starters... mains were only slightly better... 2 mains were served...one the sauce was missing.. And like 10 minutes later the rice and x2 other mains were served...by now the first x2 main dishes were cold.. The owner also kept pouring the wine...so making me obliged to buy a second bottle... The carpet...was discussingly filthy...which is shameful... I spent over £130 and really wished we went anywhere else. I do not recommend 😐

Cosy Thai restaurant situated on a Sheffield high street. Plush, comfortable seating and good spacing between tables. Food took a while to come to the table, but was freshly cooked and tasted exceptional. Service was lacking — it took a lot of effort to catch the attention of staff. The restaurant would benefit from a dedicated maître d'hôtel. Experience was soured by a particularly unruly table that were loud enough that conversation was a struggle. That said, a cautious recommendation. On a quiet night, expect this to be a 5* experience.

Came for lunch on Saturday and it was absolutely delicious. We had chicken with vegetables and cashews, duck red curry, coconut rice and sticky rice. Starters we had golden parcels, duck spring rolls and tom yum soup. Everything was delicious, freshly made and had the freshest of ingredients. Service was very polite and efficient. We were very impressed and will definitely return.

Promises more than it delivers, its not that much better than your local takeaway. The Pad Kraprao with the prawn option comes in at a hefty £14 add noodles & thats a £20 dish. Even with the 10% discount for collection its a lot for an ordinary stir fry that lacks vibrancy. The sticky rice for £5 comes in a small polythene bag in essence half a portion. Not good enough.

Had a great meal with fab service by the lovely team at Patoo Thai. Greeted with a smile, drinks order taken quickly & same for the food order. Starters Thai beef salad & chicken satay were so flavoursome, followed by steamed seabass & chicken curry (no coconut milk) with a rice side order. It was all delicious 😋. Highly recommended.

Had an authentic Thai meal, which was beautifully flavoured. Service was excellent. Thoroughly reccomend.

Fantastic and delicious food great atmosphere .pleasant staff shame service did not match. Ie 10 meals ordered at same time came out the kitchen at different times first meal eaten before last arrived. Come on Patoo pull your finger out

Came here as it was recommended, was a Saturday night but wasn't to busy. Seemed nice & relaxed. We ordered starters, mains & our waitress (a girl from new York, forgot her name) recommended a curry to us, she said it was her favourite, I ordered it & it was lovely. The satay chicken starter was good also. The only let down was the dessert, I ordered a scoop of vanilla & a scoop of chocolate. The ice cream wasn't good at all, think it was the cheap stuff & had to send it back. Apart from the ice cream the food & service was great & will go back again.

Lovely Thai food and service was phenomenal lovely waiting staff, so polite friendly and attentive. They even managed to be civil to rude anti-vaxxers next to us who were patronising to staff wearing masks. So BIG respect!

Well Sadly our recent visit was not the best We booked as always for our New Year meal The service was not it's best We nearly walked out after 15 minutes at the table We felt invisible as tables near is were served and orders were taken It took 4 times to ask for water to be served at the table Eventually we ordered and ate Still a few mix ups even then Sorry but this time our visit was not as the previous 4 years The food certainly makes up That's why we visit so regularly Happy 2022 We will be back !!

This proved to be a lovely alternative to our usual Thai restaurant. It's always a risk trying somewhere new but we were not dissapointed. Our meal was really good. Definitely recommend trying Patoo Thai.

The lemon, ginger and chilli seabass (34 or 36 on the menu) was the best Thai experience imaginable. Thoroughly recommend. Delightful food with superb ambiance.

I really enjoyed going to Patoo Thai - the food was delicious and the servers were all very friendly. It was also very well priced! I would recommend going here for hearty Thai food.

2 stars is being generous as the whole experience from walking through the door to leaving was nothing short of poor. We visited on a Saturday night and while it was busy it was overly busy. We got seated and handed menus, then waited (the waitresses spend a lot of time looking busy) for our drinks order to be taken. We then had to ask to order food which the young girl who spent most of the time behind bar on her phone came over and took, 2 main dishes and 2 sides, she got half the order wrong, I asked for the battered sea bass fillets and coconut rice, what I was brought was a seafood stir fry and some noodles, I was then assured as my wife started eating that mine was on its way and it did turn up pretty quickly. The problem then was the taste, my sea bass tasted a bit funny and even though it stated you got fillets you actually got 3 cut up pieces of maybe 1 and a bit fillet. The batter was next, you could taste it was cooked in dirty oil, honestly the whole thing made me feel sick (coconut rice was nice). We then asked for the bill which was brought pretty quickly but then the waiting started and after 10mins with no drinks or anything left on the table we eventually got up and asked to pay. We will not be returning and would recommend others don’t too, this used to be a great Thai restaurant, now it’s utter rubbish

We returned home to Sheffield from the East Coast to take part in the 10K race, and having eaten at Pattoo Thai many years ago, we thought we'd return and enjoy a celebration meal as our memories of the restaurant were of a buzzing atmoshpere and excellent food and service. Firstly, we were met at the door by a very dour gentleman who pointed at the 'cash only' notice but didn't say a deal more. As we had enough cash with us, this wasn't a particular issue but given that the restaurant was also completely empty, we should have just turned around and walked away at that point. Our mistake!!! I'd like to say at this point that the actual food was nice and we didn't have any issues with that. However..... We ordered a set meal for 2, the price of which £23.50 each. When the starters were brought to our table they were 'plonked' down in front of us by the young server. There was no explanation of what was what, no 'enjoy your meal' or 'is there anything else I can get you?' (basic server manners). When the main course arrived there were 3 of the smallest portions of food I have ever seen plus 2 solid lumps of rice. We honestly thought that the price we were paying, we would be taking food home with us but we were still hungry when we'd finished and neither of us are big eaters at the best of the times. Throughout the meal, the 'main man' kept coming to our table and wiping around us as we were eating which was very uncomfortable. All the time we were there, the young server was standing by the bar with her arms folded looking very bored apart from the one time she saw some of her friends outside and ran outside to hug them and have a laugh with them on the pavement. The bill when it came was just short of £90- for 2 of us!! When we politely offered feedback at the cost, the proprieter boredly told us it because of the drinks we had had (a bottle of white wine and a vodka and coke). We asked him if he thought this may be the reason the restaurant was empty but he just wasn't interested. The young girl who was serving even said 'they're all the same, I know what you mean'!! All the time we were trying to talk to him, he didn't look at us and was just jotting numbers down on a notepad. I said to him that he wasn't even listening and he became quite aggressive and said 'yes I am'. At this point we left the restaurant. We will NEVER be back. Not sure if he was the owner but if he was I'm sorry, he doesn't deserve the business. Such a shame.

No cash machine working… for the last 6 weeks? Suggests a problem I fear. Used to be so good and tonight was way off. To be fair starters and main were very nice but desert poor…. The service… woeful ! Might be new staff but goodness me put some effort in. Such a shame as we used to love this place but I’m afraid we won’t be back.

We love Thai food and miss our annual long holidays in Thailand. We decide to try this restaurant but sadly will not be returning. Firstly when we arrived there was a notice saying "Only Cash" so we had to find a cash dispenser because during COVID who pays with cash? Not a good start. When we got back we were seated in one half of the restaurant where there was no other guests eating. This never changed, when other people arrived they were seated at the other side of the restaurant. Why? We had booked ahead so that could not have been the reason. The atmosphere in our half of the restaurant was sadly lacking and spoilt the evening meal for us. We asked for Chang beer but got Singha even though Chang appeared on our bill! Warm plates were put in front of us but by the time the food arrived they were cold so we put them to the side and asked for warm ones. We had only ordered food with the "chilli" hot symbol and did tell the man taking the order that we like it spicy but one dish was so none descript without any spice or indeed flavour. Very disappointing evening. We will not be returning. We do have a favourite Thai restaurant very close to Patoo where were go every week and the atmosphere and the very friendly staff make our evening wonderful. The food there is also excellent. Wanted to try something different but not again.

Visited for my birthday meal with family - me, wife, 2 x YA & 1 teenager. All very happy with meal. I for one was blown away. Took me back 30 years to a backpacker visit to Bangkok. Tasted very authentic. Service not unfriendly, better described as functional, efficient, but absolutely fine. Prices quite reasonable. Will definitely go again.

Had a takeaway and the satay chicken was in a watery coconutty sauce with barely any peanut flavour. Scallops in the salad were raw with an overpoweringly pungent fermented fish sauce that covered up all other tastes. Tom Yum had a few mushrooms and two tomatoes floating in a bland watery broth. Massaman curry was again watery with raw potatoes. The only dish that was adequate was the duck spring rolls. I feel a bit queasy after - one of the worst takeaways I’ve had. Don’t understand the other reviews calling it authentic - Thai food can be so much better. I hate being down on a local independent place, but this was not good.

Lovely place for takeaway during panademic

Come here quite regularly with friends, without doubt the best Thai restaurant in Sheffield. Friendly staff, food unbelievably nice. Would definitely recommend the chicken Penang curry.

We got a takeaway in the run up to Christmas. Was really impressed with the food. Tried green papaya salad for the first time- the prawns added were enormous. The quality of the food generally was excellent. Would definitely recommend this place.

We were squeezed in as a table of six at the very last minute, and was greeted by friendly staff and shown to our clean table. The food came out on time and was very tasty! Great value for money. The service was great. Will definitely be back.

ANY ALLERGY SUFFERERS PLEASE BE CAREFUL HERE!!! The staff are very blasè with this subject, when ordering my food I told the waiter I had a nut allergy and he assured me there was no nuts in any of the food. The starters came and I just wanted to double check, the waiter who brought the food also said no. My husband tried a sauce that came with the fish cakes and noticed it had a nutty texture, so before trying it I asked a different member of staff to then be told that it had peanuts in. Hadnt I asked 3 different staff members I would have eaten this and had an allergic reaction. If you suffer from allergies please be aware when ordering food from here. Other than this the food was lovely and so was the environment, just a shame that this happened as it would have been a lovely meal all together.

This is fantastic genuine Thai food. Their green curry is special.

Food was okay too salty for my liking. Despite this restaurant being registered on the government website for the Eat Out to Help Out scheme they did not give this discount to the customers when they were asked about it they said that they were in the process which seems very strange as there is only a few weeks left before it all finishes anyway. Once I pointed out that they were actually already on the list we were given a small discount off the bill which did not equal to the 50% that we should’ve had off.

We went to Patoo Thai for the first time last week and I was extremely pleased. The service and the food was impeccable. The cutlery and plates were also warm. I highly recommend trying this place if you haven't before.

Me and my partner celebrated Valentines here, and from the moment we walked in, till the minute we walked out, we had nothing but great service from all the people working! We visited Thailand late last year and wanted somewhere that would live up to the food we had when we visited, and it didnt disappoint, we felt like we'd transported from Sheffield, back to Thailand. The food was great!! - cant fault the price either, especially with their generous portion sizes. Thank you so much! We'll be back again!

Lovely staff Food was absolutely gorgeous

Went on Friday night when suddenly presented with a child free evening. What to say? Amazingly seasoned,spiced,fragrant dishes, which were:Prawn Tom Yum soup - perfect. 5 large prawns, just enough chilli. Perfectly balanced dish. Scallops salad - not a salad per se. Just 3 LARGE scallops with a red spice paste and some bits and bobs. Spice just right to let you know it’s Thai but not too much to mask flavour of scallops. C4 special - fried sea bass with crispy Thai basil and stuff. OMG. Just amazing. Fish on point, sauce stunning and Jasmine rice a great foil to the main flavours. Wife had a beef dish she said was great, didn’t try it as so enamoured by my main course. We also had the green papaya salad because never had it before. Proper palate cleanser and well as sinus cleanser as it was on the spicy side . Free iced water throughout and a nice bottle of white wine. Can’t wait to go back and can see why it’s won so many awards.

Para el plato principal había chiles fritos y lubina de jengibre, tiras de salteado de carne pidieron que todos estuvieran calientes y tailandeses, así como el pollo. Toda la comida servida tenía buen calor picante, pero el pad Thai era muy normal, no tenía mucho sabor. Los otros 2 platos tenían buenos sabores de especias y mucho ajo / chiles. El servicio y el personal muy bueno no me puedo quejar.

Six of us went out for a meal and couldn’t fault the place. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere with friendly and efficient staff. The food was lovely with plenty of great vegetarian options. I’d highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

We had a lovely meal on New Year’s Eve to celebrate the start of a new century 2020 Lots of beautiful dishes.

Muy tranquilo el martes por la noche, solo nosotros y pedidos constantes.No había comido aquí antes y con niños, así que ordené menús fijos.Los entrantes eran encantadores, la comida frita estaba caliente y crujiente y los rollitos de primavera estaban deliciosos. La salsa de ciruela en las costillas también fue lo más destacado.Los platos principales incluyeron probablemente el mejor pollo agridulce que he comido (generalmente sombrío, dulce y empalagoso; estaba muy bien perfumado y bien condimentado. We have visited Patoo Thai at least half a dozen times, so I feel it's time for a public review. We always book our table, and have always been greeted warmly and with respect from all the staff. The Cutlery, hot plates and servietts were layed out with presicion and grace. We started with Crispy wan ton, Gung Hom Pah and Assorted Patoo Starters, all were very well presented, hot and tasty. Our mains followed promptly after the starters, Neau Namman Hoi, Neau Pad Khing, and Panaeng curry, with coconut rice and noodles, no complaints at all, it was delicious. We rounded the night off with green tea and coffees. Brilliant night, lovely hosts, cannot wait for our next visit.

Went for my sons 21st birthday, greeted with extremely friendly staff and had some amazing food i would highly recommend this restaurant!

Came here with my friends for a Monday evening. Don't worry about pre-boking as there were a selection of seats available. We did the sharing starter platter which we really enjoyed. There were 4 of us so after the starter we opted for a chicken green thai curry, prawn red thai curry and a lamb massamam curry with two jasmine rice. That was enough for us to feel happily full and no food wastage. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

Very goo thai experience. Food was excellent and tasty and elegantly served. We had starters to share which worked well given the main course servings were plenty. On a Saturday night the restaurant was full by about 8pm so do book.

Went here for lunch as the Thai restaurant a few door down was closed for lunch (their loss) It was a very quiet Saturday lunchtime and the owner was painting the outside so I did feel a bit unwelcome at first. The lunch menu is £11.95 for two courses which is good value. We all had the chicken satay which was really tasty. I had the pad Thai which wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but was nice. The man serving us (think he was the owner) could have been a bit more friendly. Overall a nice lunch.

3.5 stars to be exact. Good value for money, a nice decoration and very friendly staff were the highlights of this restaurant. The food was good but nothing spectacular. In all, a pleasant experience

Gorgeous food and reasonably priced

We had a very well cooked and presented meal. The service was excellent. This was our third visit and it never disappoints.

The chicken was really bad quality or maybe it was something else, it didn’t taste or look like chicken. It was really soft and squishy and slimy in the middle of it. When I returned to staff they didn’t do anything about it. I still had to pay. The gentleman working there was really rude and grumpy towards me. Please don’t waste your money everyone that had chicken in my family complained it didn’t taste or look like chicken. Very disappointing.

Ate here at the weekend, great food and friendly service. Will definitely be visiting again.

Fui a cenar con mi compañero, que no es un gran fanático de la comida tailandesa, normalmente solo tiene el Pad Thai. Siendo la fecha de la noche, ambos tuvimos el surtido de aperitivos para comenzar y fueron impresionantes! El mejor pollo satay que he probado en mi vida! A mi compañero también le encantaron las costillas, todo el plato estaba perfectamente preparado y las salsas acompañantes realmente complementaban el plato.

Noche tranquila con encantadora bienvenida. Tom Yum, cremoso y caliente, nos encantó a ambos, y el Tom Kha Gai estaba delicioso con mucho pollo. Satay sabroso pero no servido caliente. El curry amarillo era sabroso y el pescado al vapor 53 era una pequeña porción de bajo sin contenido vegetal. Me fui con papilas gustativas hormigueo pero con hambre. Los refrescos son caros, pero lo intentarán pronto. El personal es encantador

Mi novio y yo vinimos aquí unas cuantas veces mientras estudiaba en Sheffield, y fuimos la última vez la semana pasada, ya que nos estamos yendo de la ciudad, lo que es una brillante despedida para los dos. El servicio es educado, amable, y el ambiente es tranquilo y acogedor, y nunca nos dejaron desatendidos. La comida, aunque cara, vale la pena, ya que es 100 veces mejor que la comida tailandesa promedio, llena de sabor, platos claramente descritos y descritos, y buenas opciones para los vegetarianos. Absolutely delicious food and lovely atmosphere. The Thai green chicken curry is my personal fave, I also adore the pad Thai noodles they are immense! This is easily the best Thai restaurant in Sheffield and is probably even my fave restaurant in the whole of Sheffield. Will always highly recommend! 🍲🥢😋
