The best Thai food I have had in years! This was my second visit to Tarn Thai and I’ll be back for sure. Beautiful interior, stunning to be honest. Very attentive service (sad to see we were the only table at Saturday lunchtime). Fantastic food, lovely presentation. Not cheap, but it was worth it. I wish more people knew about this fantastic restaurant that’s clearly been around for many years. I’ll be back soon!

One of good options to go for when you want some restaurant quality Thai cuisine however the service is a bit slow even though they are not very busy. In general, I was quite satisfied with the food 👌🏻

We had a great meal here recently after having not visited for a while. The food was great, the fish cakes being a highlight. Attentive service and reasonable prices. I would only say that the starters could be slightly larger at 3 pieces. We did go in early so were the only people there for a while which was a bit lacking in atmosphere but I guess it means we got served quickly!

Faultless really. Food was top notch. Service was impeccable. The fish cakes were some of the best I've ever had. Everything tasted fresh and made with love. The Penang was perfect. Perhaps the starters didn't feel like great value but they were so tasty I wasn't that fussed. Would highly recommend if you're after some banging Thai food.

Have eaten here on 3 separate occasions and each time the food and service was great. Food full of flavour, varied large menu. Chicken satay, sea bass and the cold beef salad were particularly tasty!

I have been to all Thai restaurants in Sheffield and this is the best one! The food is great and there are a lot of vegetarian options as well. It is my number one Thai restaurant! Highly recomended!

Absolutely fabulous meal, the food is amazing. We had the beef salad which is delicious and sea bass, all beautifully presented. This restaurant is a truly, authentic Thai experience.

Wow is the first word that pops in my head, I came for my 6 year anniversary for the first time last night. The entrance is stunning, the restraunt itself is beautiful. The service we received I have to say was the best I've ever had in Sheffield the staff were so polite, friendly and helpful Now the food, this is hands down the best Thai I have ever eaten the flavors are incredible the portion sizes perfect and the presentation is stunning, each dish hot and full of flavor, I had a mock tail which was also amazing. I would recommend to anyone and will be returning. Advise booking to ensure you get a table.

Delicious Thai meal. Very attentive and friendly service. Can thoroughly recommend the lamb shank massaman, the crying beef (weeping tiger) and the sea bass. We had the royal.platter to start which was soooo tasty. Such a shame that this plsce isn't busier

Ben and I were kindly invited along to try a magnificent feast at Tarn Thai recently, the glorious food just kept on coming. Everything was superb and delicious, we especially enjoyed the mains – the Pad Thai and Lamb Shank Massaman blew us away, and the Tom Yum Soup was divine. Fine dining Thai food at modest prices especially for the high quality of the dishes. The lovely restaurant took us by pleasant surprise too as I’d never been before and it’s very beautifully decorated. We thoroughly enjoyed; Salt & Pepper Squid (£8.25) Prawn & Vegetable Spring Rolls (£7.25) Lamb Shanks Massaman Curry *only a limited number of these are served daily as they are slow cooked all that day – get your pre-orders in for these* (£18.95) Soft-shell Crab with Traditional Thai Herbs and Chef’s Special Three Flavours Sauce (£18.95) Pad Thai with River Prawn (£19.95) Tom Yum with Prawn and Mushroom (£7.50 / £14 for pot for 2) Homemade Coconut Ice Cream Rich Coconut Milk Sticky Rice Pudding The sheer amount of detail that the Chefs put into the cooking, flavour and the presentation on each dish is mind-blowing. This definitely has to be one of our top meals we’ve had in Sheffield. ⏰ Open Tuesday-Saturday afternoons until late.

Beautifully decorated, the service is friendly and attentive, and the food is so delicious. One of my favourite places to eat here in Sheffield, been a few times and never had a bad meal. The panang curry is my favourite.

Great service, super clean and nicely done! The food was very good. Many vegetarian options wich my girlfriend liked. Affordable prices and a nice setting. This restaurant was suprisingly empty, i think thats because of the location, but it deserves to be full every night!

Just got back from wedding anniversary dinner there. It really was perfect. Atmosphere was lovely. Really liked the place, felt very traditional with the furniture, music and design choices. Service was perfect. Friendly, respectful, courteous. Exactly what you'd expect. And the food was delicious. Ate each bite slowly and savored the fusion of flavours and taste. Everything was fresh and cooked beautifully. I highly recommend visiting.

If you eat in the food seems far better quality than if you get take away. I just got food poisoning from their chicken, be warned! Also I would never expect to get battered chicken when ordering chicken and cashew nut stir fry, very odd. And 3 small spring rolls for £7 was a bit of a rip off! But I have had a good experience eating in here so maybe they just don't put as much effort in for their takeaways or something.

Poor quality food and attitude, paid £70 for two people plus 10% tip and on leaving asked to pay 10 pence for a bag used to for take home food!!

Ordered stir fried prawns. When the dish came to table it was deep fried battered prawns. Ruined my meal. Didn’t complain as out with family!! Won’t go again!!!!

It was amazing! I highly recommend it. My favourite dishes are the stand-up sea-bass, crying beef and papaya salad. It genuinely felt like I was eating in Thailand.The authenticity of the flavors was incredible. Definitely will come back again !

We have been coming here for many years, and it is definitely the best Thai in Sheffield. We had a lovely meal again after Christmas with some of our friends and everyone loved it. Ingredients used are always fresh, flavours are amazing, and nothing is too much for the staff who are always super friendly and professional. We will continue to dine here and highly recommend it to anyone!!!

When I get into the place, it automatically transported me to Thailand: so well decorated! And the food is so flavoursome and rich. I had the ‘Crying lean beef’ with veggies and steam rice. Beautiful.

The restaurant is very beautiful. The decor fits the theme very well. The menu is massive- which can make it hard to make a choice due to so much good food. Quick food. Very presentable food.

The service was impeccable, the staff are really welcoming and friendly, which added to the great atmosphere. The food was amazing, particularly the Gaeng Daeng curry. Will defo be back soon!! The curry doesn't come with rice so remember to order some. They also add a service charge to the bill.

Absolutely incredible. Never been to a place like it. The etiquette of the staff are amazing and the food tastes delicious. We did get a table for 2 but it was a bit close to another table behind us but apart from that top notch place. Would recommend 👌.

Staff were very unorganised and food was all coming in drips so people had to start eating. Very tiny portions the mains and sides needed to be purchased as no rice or anything included so quite expensive and service charge as well to pay as several people . Found food tasty when it did arrive but the fraught from the door was awful it was open so many times and so frozen cold at table . Referred to my grandson as a girl asked him to the girls toilet upstairs . He is only 8. Atmosphere was very chaotic and I had a serving spoon dropped on my dress so won’t be returning here as not the best experience for 22 people as a a party meal .

This place is incredible. The decor inside is beautiful, elegant and feels very authentic. The service is incredible, so attentive. The food was INCREDIBLE! We have the satay chicken, vegetable spring rolls, red curry with chicken and green curry with chicken. I also had the mango sticky rice, which was beautiful. For the quality of the food, the price feels cheap! Honestly, one of the best Thai restaurants I have ever eaten at.

Updated 18/09/2023 We came here again for our anniversary two years later and we're still very happy! There is a new owner and the chicken, beef and duck are halal which is a huge game changer for me (even tho i like going for seafood anyway but it's brilliant having a wider range of options for muslims). We'll definitely come here more often and bring our friends. If you want a quieter, more personal dining experience I'd recommend coming as early as you can. 15/09/2021 Went here with my husband to celebrate our anniversary and we had a really great time! We went during lunchtime on a weekday so basically had the whole place to ourselves, and the waitress was just so lovely to us. We've had takeaway from here before and loved it, and tho i did think the price was a little expensive for takeaway, it's after dining in that i feel like it was more worth it along with the experience you get. They gave us complimentary crackers(which we didnt even finish unfortunately because we were full) and placed hot plates on our table before our meal arrived, so that the food would stay warm?? So extra, i love it. Added with the gorgeous interior of the restaurant, the food was delicious! We really enjoyed the appetizers and our mains, which tasted amazing and the presentation was 💯also had a very tasty mocktail heh. Although the restaurant isn't labeled as halal, they offer quite a good selection of vegetarian and seafood options. Unsure if we would have gotten the same experience if we had come during dinner, which we heard can get really busy. So would highly recommend going during lunchtime for the best experience. Also all the seats had cushions??? Just gotta mention how extra they are and how these little things just make the whole experience better✨ we never usually tip restaurants but for this one we did so its basically our fav place in sheffield rn haha

Visited with friends for dinner, although we were asked if we had a reservation, which we didn’t, we were able to get a table. The restaurant was not busy but I presume it get get busier compared to a Tuesday evening. Service was good, the staff were all very attentive and friendly. Food waiting time wasn’t a concern, neither was the taste! I personally had the sweet and sour pork with a selection of rices (we ordered two kinds to share) and it was very good. There were no complaints from my friends either regarding their food, everyone enjoyed their meals. The atmosphere was quite chilled with quiet music in the background. The restaurant seemed clean and the decor was also quite nice. I’d definitely come back if I were to visit Sheffield again 😊 (Ps: no service charge which was a surprise)

Really disappointed, we have been coming here for five years and it was one of our favourite places, not sure what has happened to the food has it changed hands or new chef, we ordered our starter the same as we always do Tom yum soup it was basically a tin of oxtail soup with prawns and mushrooms in it. The main course was burnt fish and the sticky rice we could not even get it out of the bag, really disappointed and it’s a real shame as we have attended for such a long time we left and went else where for food. We wont be coming back.

Lovely Thai restaurant! Friendly and accommodating team. Unfortunately I am not a big fan of spicy food, so both starters that I ordered were quite spicy (papaya salad) & salty (squid) for me 😰 even though the salad on the menu was indicated as mild spice.. enjoyed Thai beer and atmosphere though

By far the most authentic Thai food in Sheffield, and finally a place which doesn’t adds an excessive amount of sugar to the food. And if you order it spicy you will also spicy! We will definitely come back.

One of the best restaurants in Sheffield! I went on the 17th of June 2022 with 4 other people and we all had amazing meals. The staff were so friendly and helpful, we warmed to them immeidately. Ther service was brilliant and the food amazing! I had the massaman curry and have never tasted anything so nice! The drinks were wonderful and the prices were all reasonable. Will definitely be back again soon!

Incredible. Food was absolutely spot on. Fresh, delicious, all different flavours in every dish. The venue is so quirky and stunning inside, you wouldn't think it existed in Sheffield. Service is brilliant, everyone's friendly, knows their role and couldn't be more helpful and not too intrusive. 100% recommend, we will be back!

Missing two courses, ordering a set meal for six and other meals, only to discover that the eggs fried rice and coffee had not been served. No service, we served the dishes ourselves, the waiter said there was no time, the guests did not arrive all the dishes, all cold dishes. — No one came to serve us, no waiter asked if we wanted tea or coffee, no eggs fried rice. We communicated when we made the reservation that we would arrive at 6 o 'clock to carry out some balloon decoration. The order also means that the friend will arrive around 7 o 'clock and the food will be served when they arrive. We were mostly girls and ordered set meals for six with six extra staples. If it is not enough, we will need to add dishes. However, during the period, there was no service, there was no idea to continue eating, and many dishes were not finished. Only to find two dishes missing when I got home. And I gave 24 pounds deposit. I don't know if it's deducted.

Beautiful birthday meal, the food is beautifully presented and the taste and ingredients were so fresh and tasty. The salt and pepper crispy squid was amazing. I would definately go again.

I used to go to Tasty Thai until they changed ownership. Took a punt with Tarn Thai and it was a really good take-out option. Very good Pad Thai and Massaman curry. Really nice food. Bravo!

Rude unwelcoming staff. Seem a bit racist tbh. Offered prawn crackers to all other tables but ours. Gave serviets to all other tables but ours. Not kid friendly. One meal inedible due to spice levels. And we can handle spice. The staff were laughing due to spice. Seems like they were playing a joke. Tiny rice portions too.

only serve for booked tables haha came in and got seated, ordered drinks and just sit there like dumb for 15 minites no one willing to take the order, while waiters are walking around for only one table, asked the male manager, said "we are serving for the booked tables, sorry" we want to leave, just sipped once and have to paid the drinks

The staff were really friendly and helpful in understanding some items on the menu. The thai green curry tasted nice but it was quite salty. The interior decor is very impressive.

The restaurant is decorated with gold and red- a theme you'll recognize a lot in Thailand. The food was delicious. Tom yum soup was on point! Spicy but delicious. Chicken with cashews was okay, a bit too oily for my liking. Sea bass fried was great. Pad Thai and pad see ew were great too. The staff were seemed a little grumpy though. Thailand is know as the land of smiles but couldn't recognize the smile or hospitality in the staff. They weren't bad, but didn't come out as pleasant. Overall a very satisfied customer and will probably visit the place a lot often.

First time visit here and wow... Love the place fantastic service and the food is just as good. I would travel to Sheffield just to go here. Looking forward to visiting again. Check out the decor... Amazing.

Gave us the complete wrong order, we called to let them know and they offered us no resolution other than “there’s nothing we can do now that we’ve delivered your food. Awful service. We also requested for curries to be mild and they were all spicy so they didn’t even take notice of anything we ordered. Awful service Will not be ordering from here again!
