I bought a Buyagift Afternoon tea voucher for patisserie Valerie on a special offer for ten pound so we thought we had better to use it before it expires. The branch at Queensway is only about 0.5 from from the Tube station so was pretty easy to find.We ordered our afternoon tea and it arrived about 15 minutes later we had a few very thin sandwiches with four small scones with six cakes with two pots of tea to wash it down with for ten pound it was a bargain if we had paid on the day it was £35.A special mention for the excellent service that we had

We were disappointed with this afternoon tea. The cakes were good, but the scones were rock hard and I think had been defrosted on the day. The sandwiches were inedible. The butter on each slice of bread was as thick as a slice of cheese, and rock hard so it couldn’t be scraped off - eating it made me feel sick. I’m not normally one to leave a negative review, but as something that was supposed to be a treat I was really very disappointed.

Despite their money troubles, Patisserie Valerie have provided top quality cuisine for many years. However, their Queensway branch is really poor. As soon as you enter the decor is depressing and the variety extremely limited. Even though the place was almost empty it took ages for us to be served. Then our order took ages to come, and when it did the food was bland and well below the standard we've come to expect from this chain. Really poor. So disappointing.

I went for a supposed afternoon tea for 2 at the Queensway branch on the second of January. What a disappointment! The portions were so tiny!!!! I could have eaten everything on my own! And the finger sandwiches weren’t even so fresh. Patisserie Valerie used to be good but it is getting worse by the minute. The slices of cakes are 1/3 smaller and the prices have been increased! Not surprised they are closing down one by one. Caffe’ concerto has the same sliced cakes much bigger and cheaper. My money will get there now.

My son and I stopped at Patisserie Valerie - Queensway most mornings for breakfast or coffee as it was located between our hotel and the Bayswater Underground Station. The shop is located a short walk (maybe 150 yards) from the entrance to the Bayswater Underground station, near the intersection of Queensway and Porchester Gardens. Service was quick. Baked goods were priced well and the chocolate croissants were delicious. I would definitely stop at this location again when staying in Bayswater or other Patisserie Valerie locations when in London.

My husband and I visited here several times for breakfast while in London recently. You order at the counter choosing from the nice selection of delicious pastries, along with tea and coffee, and then the server brings your food to your table. It was very relaxing and the pastries were delicious, as were the tea and coffee.

Not busy as before. Definitely just open for survival after the chain bankruptcy. I think they either changed the supplier or in an attempt to reduce the cost , decided to have smaller size cakes. It used to be very filling , juicy & fresh. May be also because of not having too many customers - it was closed for some time till they could find a new owner / investor - this cake was from yesterday. Staff are good ( same as before ).
