Patisserie Valerie - Leeds in Leeds

We had afternoon tea, the food was delicious and fresh. The staff very friendly. We didn’t wait long for them to get a table ready for us. The coffee was nice and refilled. This was a gift voucher we used and glad we came. Pity place isn’t bigger.

My friend kindly bought me an afternoon tea for two voucher which I used recently. The actual afternoon tea was enjoyable enough, with endless soft/hot drinks etc, however, my friend went to use the toilet but decided against as it was so dirty. Approximately 5 hours after eating here, I started to feel very sick and was violently sick 4-5 times shortly afterwards. I’d read the poor reviews and chosen to ignore them; with hindsight I wish I’d taken notice.

Overpriced. Breakfast for three of us. I had avocado on sourdough with tomato and a packed egg. I could not cut the toast. I seemed not only toasted but stale too.so disappointing. Chocolate milkshake far too sweet (from a 15 yr old child that’s something!…she couldn’t drink it all) It’s not busy and vibrant like it used to be but it’s clean, staff super friendly…just overpriced for what we received! Won’t return

We went to use a voucher for coffee and cake, a lovely gesture from family. I considered a sandwich while we were there but they looked dry so I didn't bother. We ordered two cups of coffee and two pieces of cake, which looked nice in the cabinet. We sat down and the coffee was delivered, then one of the two servers went and sat outside the front and lit a cigarette, while the other server stood in the doorway with her. As we needed to get to a hospital appointment we went and asked if we could have our cake, we were asked again what we'd ordered and it was brought over. I had Black Forrest Gateaux which was ok, my wife had carrot cake, which was so dry it was almost inedible. Really disappointing, looks like it may not be there much longer

This was a terrible experience. Extremeley shabby interior, Queues encroaching on tables There was flaking paintwork dirty table and a general feeling that the place needed a good clean. When we entered there was only one persn at the counter before us and the two staff were having what appeared to be a disagreement (queue formed as we sat), but it still took what seemed an age before our simple order of coffee,tea and cake arrived (after being queried at the table as to what our order was again). Not a good look or experience for the price. Not the birthday treat I had hoped for. Will not be back

I was really disappointed when visiting the PV i. Leeds. I had the pleasure of being a regular customer for 8 years before- in two other cities I lived in but this one by far was the worst. Lighting so dark that you cannot see and when I went there the display which usually shows fresh cakes you can select from was completely empty. What ruined the experience was however the lack of tact by the staff. Upon arrival I requested a table for me and my children, there was one member of staff who just sat there behind a laptop pretending not to see me and the children. We waited 15 mins to be sat at the very back near a toilet. Upon my child commenting that the seat on the sofa needs to be fixed as it was completely torn, the staff member then started repromanding my son for being rude ( 5 years old is the son). The order took another 10 mins as the lady kept ignoring us and hiffing and puffing even though I was keeping matters civil and polite, and she took our order. We waited another 40 mins in a completely empty restaurant. There was no music, no ambience, it was dirty and we felt we were unwanted guests. I am never going there again.

Went for afternoon tea I can not fault them the food was great and we were able to mix our drinks the staff were attentive and friendly this was the leeds branch we will definitely be back

Went today with an afternoon tea voucher - the two members of staff were extremely lovely, the woman explained everything really well and was genuinely so polite. great value, delicious sandwiches and staff were quick to offer refills and check on their customers. Thank you to those two staff members for a great experience, they're an asset to the company and we would love to return.

£23 for a omelette, porridge and two coffees. At that price you think you could afford to clean the toilets. No toilet role, empty tubes on the floor, bin overflowing, not been mopped. This is at 10.30am Sunday morning. Chart showed not been checked since midday on Saturday.

Arrived to purchase take away deserts. On entering, there was litter and rubbish around the entrance (inside not outside). It didn't get much cleaner as we carried on inside, it looked dirty and unkempt. And the range of cakes was poor. We made a decision to leave without buying, as the hygiene issue sank in. What on earth has happened to this place? Does this place not have a manager?? Gone are the good old days, this is a chain on its knees, the death knell tolls sadly.

I met a friend for afternoon tea and had a lovely afternoon. The staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. All of them were very friendly and courteous. Thank you. The food was pretty good too. Sandwiches, cakes, scones and unlimited drinks. What more could you ask for. 😊

Visited today as we wanted a drink after a day of shopping. Ordered a smoothie via the app and was shocked to hear “Eurgh, how sad. So sad” by the person behind the counter. Their colleague asked what it was and again the person repeated “A smoothie so sad”. They both eventually decided that they would wait to see if my friend ordered the same drink before they went and retrieved the ingredients from the back/upstairs - if not, then there was no point in making my drink! After hearing this, I cancelled my order and both my and my friend left. Honestly never ever felt like such a burden or experienced such rude behaviour like this before. No idea how they landed a job in customer service!

We visited Patisserie Valerie in Leeds yesterday as we had been bought a voucher for afternoon tea as a gift. The staff are excellent - very welcoming and attentive throughout our visit. The tea was very tasty - finger sandwiches, scones and cakes - more than we could manage. We were given the food we couldn't eat in a box to take away. We would highly recommend the experience and thank the staff for their great service during a very busy period.
