Once more a great product let down by diabolical service, if it wasn't for the great food these restaurants would close. This is the the fourth time that I have walked out of a different branch shaking my head and wondering why there is obviously no staff training or why some of the staff don't seem interested in customer service.

The bread is reasonable but overpriced. Cakes very sugary, definitely won’t buy again. Service very nice.

Although the quality of the pastry we had was good, in my opinion it really wasn't worth £4.20. The coffee was good but small. The inside seating is small and really cramped, it didn't feel congenital for a relaxing chat. Sorry to moan, I love coffee shops and go to a few, but this one just didn't make the cut.

I absolutely love this place, the Sachertorte is to die for and the sausage rolls are the best I've tasted. There's so much choice it may take you awhile to decide what to have lol. I highly recommend a visit.

The service and food at this shop are always exceptional. Mark and team have surpassed themselves this week. As a special request Mark took time to make me a very special cake, incredibly difficult to find outside of France. Mark kept me informed about the when it would be ready and I found it boxed, with my name on, in his shop today. Service by enthusiastic and wonderful staff made this a great overall experience. Once again Mark and team.... many thanks!!

Faultless customer service is the start of a great experience! We had a lovely takeaway coffee and the pastries were to die for. The lovely lady serving us also reserved us a few cakes for us to collect later as we were out for the day, which we later collected and took to a friends that evening. They were all blown away with them. Can’t mention any in particular but can say they got top mark all round.

Quick friendly service. Lovely place to meet friends/family, cakes and pastries are amazing! 😋 Only down side is they need a bigger seating area inside.

Great place for coffee, excellent breads and yummy cakes. Wouldn’t want to eat inside as it’s a bit cramped but great for takeaway or sitting outside.

I first went to Mark Bennett in Ashley Cross few years back and it was lovely food so when I was around Broadstone I decided to get a sourdough and few cakes to take home. The venue is quite small and it is really hard to keep any social distancing but I thought I'll just get few cakes and will be on my way in no time. Well, I waited for few minutes to be served whilst the three girls were having a good old chat between themselves... I wasn't really sure if the third one was a guest or a colleague so I waited patiently. When I finally got their attention there was no "sorry to keep you waiting" but they probably didn't think I waited for too long. I got one sourdough and three cakes for which I paid over £15.60. Now the cakes looked super delicious so I was looking forward to trying them. But I was quite disappointed with them. I love mille feuille but these had a very thick layers that were almost impossible to break with a dessert fork. I wasn't impressed at all. The sourdough was ok but when they say "artisan" bread then I make better sourdough for a lot less money. Overall, not impressed and will not rush back. There is a lot to improve for this venue.

No where to really sit down and have coffee so takeaway is okay, treated myself also to some cake with my coffee. Expensive cake which when I got home was dry and tasteless.

The coffee and cakes, sandwiches are excellent. Unfortunately with Perspex screens and face masks I find it really hard to hear what is being said and the member of staff serving me found this very amusing in a way that made me very uncomfortable. In the present situation this must affect a number of people and I would like to feel that staff are getting some guidance in how to deal with this and make their customers feel valued.

Disclaimer. I have never been to this museum. I've been to Poole many times in the past but not for a few decades. So why am I posting a review? See the attached image which appeared on Reddit today and I'm doing my best to distribute the awesome wholesomeness this museum promotes. When I do go to Poole next, this museum will be my first port of call.

If I could give no stars I would. On Saturday, we visited The Bricklayers for drinks around 4 PM. Although the establishment was busy, we managed to find an empty table. While half of our group was ordering drinks at the bar, a woman approached and placed a reserved sign on our table without acknowledging us. When my daughter pointed out that the table was free when we arrived, the woman dismissed her comment and insisted it was reserved. When she returned a third time to ask us to leave, despite there still being half an hour until the reservation, her demeanour was once again discourteous. She addressed my young nephew, implying we needed to vacate. I felt it necessary to address her directly, emphasizing that she should speak to the adults at the table and that her approach was unprofessional and rude. Unfortunately, instead of addressing my concerns, she repeated my words in a condescending manner and attempted to walk away. When I inquired about her name, she identified herself as Abbie and claimed to be the manager, which only heightened my disappointment as I believe a manager should exemplify exceptional customer service. As living local to the area, we wanted to give The Bricklayers another chance, despite our previous experiences with unprofessional staff. After this incident, we decided to visit the newly opened Flamingos. Callum, who I believe is either the host or manager there, greeted us warmly and explained that they were fully booked. He expressed regret that he couldn’t accommodate us and invited us to return another time, which was a refreshing contrast to our earlier experience. Ultimately, we chose to enjoy our evening at the Dancing Moose, where the staff, despite being fully booked, warmly welcomed us at the bar, providing excellent service and delightful cocktails. Regrettably, this unfortunate encounter at The Bricklayers led us to reconsider our patronage, resulting in a loss of potential revenue of over £300. After investing significantly in refurbishing the space, which now looks quite appealing, we have unfortunately had an unsatisfactory experience with one manager. As a result, I cannot say we would consider returning.
