Patara Thai Restaurant South Kensington in Kensington and Chelsea

The service and food were amazing here. The food came out just as beautiful as the pictures in the menu. We will definitely be back when we come back to London.

Everything would have been 5 star if they were not overpriced. You can't possible say 2 persons with no drink must pay 100 quids, for noodle and 200 gm stake literally!

The food was absolutely perfect, and the service was impressively fast and friendly. However, I felt the price didn't quite match the quality, especially considering that £28 for Pad Thai seemed excessive. Despite this, everything else was fantastic, particularly the interior, which didn't quite match the expected ambiance of a high-priced restaurant.

First time at Patara and it didn’t disappoint. The food was good, much pricier than other Thai restaurants but the quality made a difference. A bit of a shame the lack of attention to detail in certain aspects, for example the area downstairs was very untidy and the male toilets whilst clean had a dead bromeliad plant. The Restaurant Manager should have a proper look downstairs that let Patara down.

It looks like a restaurant in the Kensington area, with an elegant atmosphere and authentic taste❣️ However, the temperature at which food is served is Western-style, which is lenient for us Japanese people... = Oriental people would be happy if it was a little more piping hot⁉️ Other than that, it's delicious😋 This is a recommended shop♪

We had a lovely meal here. The duck massman curry was amazing. We also tried the chor muang (dumplings stuffed with a caramelised chicken and peanut filling) but we thought the ratio was off as there was too much starchy dumpling and not enough filling.

Great food as always. Staff isnextremely nice. They put a lot of care and attention to customers so that they are perfectly served and pampered. As a surprise they brought me a super nice Happy birthday lettering plate with a cake...we dont know how they knew!! It was a very special moment! Big thank you to Patara South Ken team!!

Lovely food! Lovely drinks and the inside of the restaurant is quiet and well decorated! The staff are all so accommodating and welcoming, all in all a lovely evening spent for a birthday dinner! Were surprised with a cake and ice cream at the end!

Lovely food, friendly staff, great ambience. I had the Chicken Massaman curry with sticky rice and it was very good. To drink, I had the lychee mocktail which was fruity and refreshing I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others who are looking for a good Thai meal near South Kensington

I always judge a Thai restaurants by their Green Thai chicken curry and Patara Thai did not disappoint. The food was delicious and beautifully served. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The portion sizes are good and very good value to money. Very affordable. The fried sea bass was amazing. The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated and has a really nice vibe. I’ll definitely come back again.

I recently tried a massaman Chicken curry that had some truly delicious flavors. The rich, creamy sauce was perfectly spiced with that signature balance of sweet and savory, and the potatoes and peanuts added great texture and depth. However, I couldn’t enjoy it as much as I’d hoped because the chicken still had the skin on it. For me, chicken in a curry just shouldn’t have the skin—it altered the texture in a way that didn’t isn't for me. I know that’s a personal preference, though, and for those who don’t mind the skin, this dish is really nice. If you’re okay with chicken skin, I’d say it’s worth trying! My Mrs had Thai green curry with skinless chicken, so next time I will get that as that was also very nice.

I think Patara need to have a good hard look at themselves and ask if they want to stay true to their Thai heritage and culture when it comes to food or be a yet-another Thai restaurant that is average at best and uninspired at worst. The food was very average and disappointing. I would not go back.
