CERU Eastern Mediterranean Restaurant South Kensington in Kensington and Chelsea

Went to the newly opened one in Farringdon. Ever had a meal that genuinely leaves you speechless? That was me at Ceru We kicked things off with a super refreshing watermelon lemonade so refreshing. The king prawns in a spicy tomato sauce and the braised octopus with citrus harissa glaze — both insane. And don’t even get me started on those spiced polenta fries… I’m still dreaming about them.Dessert was next-level too: The labneh cheesecake with caramelised figs was pure joy. Excellent "Eastern Mediterranean" style restaurant: Turkish, Lebanese, Cypriot, a diverse mix of dishes. Quality food and reasonable portions. Two or three dishes are enough for a full meal. I recommend ordering a variety if you're a large group and trying everything. The breaded calamari was surprisingly spectacular. Attentive service. Highly recommended. The price was 30 euros per person. Extensive wine list.

After five days in London I can say that it has been the best choice for lunch: relaxed and calm atmosphere, exceptional service and 10 food!!! I would return without hesitation...

The staff were fantastic from start to finish. Friendly and helpful with the right balance of checking in but not overdoing it! The food was delicious! The apple salad was one of the nicest things I’ve eaten for a long time and so was the lamb shoulder. I was only sad we didn’t arrive in time to try the home made flavoured lemonade before it had run out because - if it’s anything like the rest of what we had - it must be great! The decor is lovely too - it’s on a great little street with lots of other cool things around it but it’s kind of the jewel in the crown for me!

The lamb was dry and not good! The cauliflower is so spicy it tastes bitter! The undercooked potato! On top of all that, they are the ones who set your tip!!!!!!!! I've never seen this in my life

Last minute booking on a day out in London with kids, I chose Ceru as the cuisine sounded right up my street. The lamb shoulder and Hamara were nice. However, there wasn't much for the kids, some dishes were kindly made with less spice (no seasoning whatsoever), which kids didn't eat. The cauliflower was undercooked and thus very very hard to eat. Overall not sure if it was the dishes we chose or just the chef having a bad day but we weren't impressed.

Personally, there were 5 of us and none of us liked the food.

We came across the restaurant while strolling, it looked interesting and there was a free seat outside. We chose 5 courses from the menu to share and were thrilled.

I dined here two nights in a row because there were so many dishes I wanted to try. Very flavorful eastern Mediterranean food at reasonable prices.

Delicious Mediterranean food! We had a mix of dishes and all of them were outstanding. Fast service and high quality food that is unique and fresh. Our favourite was the trio of dips with warm pita. Highly recommend.

On our last night in London, we wandered into Ceru South Ken lured by the delicious smells wafting out the door. The kindly reception by the owner (who managed to squeeze us in without a reservation) and Mathew (the exemplary waiter who recommended dishes he thought we'd enjoy) began a wonderful dining experience. The lamb shoulder and chicken were delicious, well-cooked, and beautifully presented. The prices were reasonable for quality food and service. Absolutely delightful all around!

Every dish was overwhelmed by citrus-based sauces or glazes, so much acid that it masked the natural flavors of the meat and seafood. Couldn’t really enjoy the ingredients themselves. Just not my thing.

Me and my husband had a delicious meal here on our trip to London. The small plates format to the menu make it really fun to try different dishes and everything we got was excellent! The basil lemonade was the best lemonade I’ve ever had. The slow cooked lamb is amazing and the apple and mint salad we had was so simple and refreshing. The restaurant is also so beautiful and clean inside. Def be sure to get there early because this place really fills up.

My friend and I had a superb meal at Ceru, the food and drinks were fabulous and very reasonably priced. My friend is vegetarian so we had all the veggie dishes , and were spoilt for choice. We stayed far too long, and had to be very politely moved to a different table to finish our mint teas. We will be back, with our families, and another friend has just booked for lunch on my recommendation. Ceru is an absolute gem. A quick update to say that I returned with 2 friends, and we had an absolutely wonderful lunch. Service and food were excellent and Bhawana (did I get that right?) looked after us very well. Ceru is an absolute gem.

Superb food. Lamb shoulder and chicken skewer (Shish Taouk) dishes personal favourites, along with their homemade lemonade. Owners are lovely and waitress was too.

The food was amazing, I especially tried the beer they produced and the Lebanese wine was very successful, I wouldn't give up on red, it was the waiter's favorite.

My friend and I went here for dinner on Sat 8 March. We hadn’t booked and the place was quite full but we were assured a table was becoming free any minute and it did! We’ve been before several times and it’s now our go to restaurant in this area because the food is always fresh and delicious, the wine choice is interesting, the atmosphere laid back and fun, and the service is superb. The food and service are fantastic! CERU is my go to in London and I absolutely love it!

I used to visit Ceru regularly, but after taking my mum and sister recently, our experience was disappointing. We found a dead cockroach in the dining room, and both the food and service were far worse than before. The staff forgot our bread and beer, and seemed inattentive overall. It’s a shame to see such a decline in quality.

We had a very tasty lunch today, everything cooked to perfection and the service was exceptional. I can highly recommend this restaurant and will be back very soon!

Difficult to fault Ceru. Seated within 5 minutes without a reservation despite the place seeming busy with all tables and places taken. We were given a bench seat next to others but this was fine for us. Mediterranean fusion tapas style food explained by a friendly waiter, service exceptional, food delicious with enough variety for all tastes and restrictions. We ordered 3 dishes each too share and this was plenty.

Amazing experience - excellent food and wine list. This place was amazing! Sindu took excellent care of our table - bravo. I had the fennel orange salad, lamb shoulder, and zucchini fritter. All were outstanding, excellent flavor and seasoning. The wines were all Greek, Lebanese or Georgian - super cool! If you’re in south Kensington and don’t go here… your loss! Expect £30-40 for food, wine list was very reasonable. Regarding dietary restrictions - team was extremely knowledgeable about dietary restrictions and even made some cross-contamination warnings. I am gluten free and had trouble choosing from SO many GF options, a rare experience. I would imagine a vegetarian person would also have many options.

Great dinner there last night. Simply delicious food - dips and flatbread, salads, chicken, lamb , vegetables -all perfect. Great service and friendly buzzy atmosphere. Owner and wife there and so hospitable. Felt like home.

Really great place for a meal - what really sells the place is the wide range of new world wines you don't normally see in other places. When was the last time you drank a sauvignon blanc from Lebanon?

Great atmosphere, amazing food and friendly staff but the service felt a little rushed at times. Had a few sips left in my drink but it was whisked away before I could say anything. Dishes are sharing style which worked very well for us and the recommended amount left us very satisfied.

Not the most comfortable eatery around, service was functional if lacking a little warmth; however, they were busy. And no wonder the food was exceptional. Every dish was packed with distinct flavour and pleasant surprises. This area of London is packed with East Mediterranean restaurants, and it is hard to stand out, but this is how you do it. An additional nice touch was the sensiblely priced regional wine list. There is cheaper, but for what you get, I have absolutely no complaints, the few extra quid easily worth it.

This is a genuinely delightful and friendly place to eat and relax. We were guided through an exciting range of suggestions to make a shared lunch. Each dish brimmed with tastes from the Eastern Mediterranean and were perfectly fresh.The homemade lemonade packs a punch with its fresh basil complimenting the citrus zing, it’s not shy and retiring and holds its own admirably with the spices of the foods.Staff were informative and friendly, efficient and astutely discrete allowing us the time to chat and enjoy all of the food. Fell in love with this restaurant and will definitely be telling friends to get themselves over here.

Beautiful ambiance. Must try the trio of dips with fresh bread. They provided us with a special cheese cake for our birthday celebration aswell.

Just got pushed away out of the door at 10pm on a Wed when the sign on the door said Mon-Fri until 11pm. Very good food but rude behaviour from manager. Up to you.

I was here for dinner about 6 weeks ago and really enjoyed the many dishes our group ordered so I was keen to come back for brunch, and we were not disappointed. My only criticism of the food is that both myself and my friend found the tomato sauce too sweet. Apart from that - delish.

Chosen as a birthday lunchtime venue for our Ukrainian guest’s birthday. The hosts were friendly and welcoming and took the time to lead us through the menu. The advice was greatly appreciated. Service was excellent and the food and wine was delicious. It was a great introduction to some very tasty Lebanese dishes. We shall be back.

Arriving thanks to the backpacker's guide, I was not disappointed: warm welcome, fast service, simple and tasty dishes and delicious tasting apple tea. I had a very good lunch!

As a Coeliac it's always a good thing to find some new places that cater for a Gluten Free diet & a double bonus that the food is delicious to eat too! The staff were also helpful when I double checked regarding my dietary requirements....would definitely eat here again! The squid was DELICIOUS! One very satisfied customer! This was for the restaurant in South Kensington. I believe they have one also in Bayswater/Queensway area too.

Very good service and pleasant waiters. The atmosphere and aesthetics were nice as well. Was disappointed in the quality and taste of the food of the place. Ordered a mint tea and it was just hot water and three mint branches. The hummus was downright bad and could have been better. Overall I enjoyed everything but the food in this place.

Just a brilliant dining experience!

Really very tasty food. My only issue is that the portion size is 25% too mean. Better to have something that's £20, not £16, but 25% bigger. If you're coeliac, this place is good so long as you avoid the starters that come with pitta bread. Otherwise very clearly labelled and plenty of choices.
