Group of 6 for dinner. First time here and it was excellent! This is a tapas style, small plate restaurant which means you can try several different things. The waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The lamb shoulder was delicious. The waiter said the octopus was the best he'd had. He wasn't lying! It was so tender and tasty. Not chewy at all. Interesting cocktails too. Definitely a great choice for our meat with friends. We'll be back again soon! Kevin and Gian

Visited this place for the first time without a reservation (on a Friday) and it was worth the wait. Service was great, everyone was very helpful and friendly. The menu is super extensive and veggie friendly. All the food was very flavourful and filling, and we liked being able to choose multiple dishes in one sitting for variety. Recommend the lamb shoulder, fried calamari, and sticky aubergine.

Laid back atmosphere with amazing food

Our restaurant of choice for catching with friends for a drink and food. Must have been my fifth/sixth visit! Such great service and delicious fresh food. The lamb is their signature dish, so make sure you try it - but everything else is delicious too! Will be back again soon.

Great celiac-safe diverse menu of small plates. Menu is 99% gluten free--only thing on premises that has gluten is the pita bread and they have no airborne flour in the restaurant. Staff were really inviting and friendly. The adults loved everything. The kids, who aren't as familiar with Mediterranean food, loved the hummus, Shish Taouk, and homemade lemonade.

Delicious food in a relaxed restaurant.

We had such a great experience and meal here. Was so great to have a place that had naturally vegetarian and gluten free options available! We had an amazing Lebanese Rosé as well! Would definitely recommend Ceri!

Great food, outstanding service. I absolutely loved everything about this restaurant.

I ended up here in a group not having heard of it or looking it up in advance, which was my mistake. While the food was good, I was horrified to see that a middle eastern/eastern Mediterranean restaurant was proudly displaying food and wine imported from “Israel” and occupied Palestinian Territories. I had to share this feedback and will not be recommending this place.

Do not miss this place! We came back a second time while on vacation here. Service was exceptional, food was amazing. Definitely our favorite place to eat!

This place is an amazing resturant with delicious meals and amazing service. As my family and I were from America we were used to the quick service over there. While here across the pond its but more sluggish. Wich I don't mind much, it gives for more conversation. Yet this places service has blown us with expectations. Our waitress was kind amazing and very informative on the food options. As well as serving our table very fast. On the second day we came here, he was extremely kind by bring us some drinks and a dessert on the house! And the food, my God-THE FOOD! some of the most amazing places of meat and fish i had while I was here in London. Apparently they have some guy they pay to go to the market at like 6am to bring back food for the chefs wich sounds both sketchy and delicious. Only thing to complain is the atmosphere is nothing special. It works, and that's what its meant to do. Which doesn't damper the experience at all. Amazing place come here, bring with your friends! bring your dog maybe! Highly recommend 👌

Not entirely convinced having visited Ceru why this restaurant has such a high rating from customers. The food has no substance and the flavours did not wow me and my guest at all. I enjoyed one hummus dip out of the three, the bread basket is nothing to ride home about and the bread is thin and was cold when served. The Chicken Shish Taouk again was OK, but no flavour coming through whatsoever and the Zuchinni Fritters was such a disappointing dish and tasted of nothing in particular at all. Most dishes are over priced for what you get and the only thing on the menu that tasted delicious was the Haloumi Peppers. I wouldn't go back to this restaurant or recommend it. My friend and I were not happy to pay the service charge (but always feel tiny bit of pressure to pay it). Staff took way too long to get the Food out and are a little bit on the fake side. I was observing how they talk to certain customers and make very little effort with others! My advice would be to consistently be nice to all your customers!

Its the second time for me to come here and still a pleasant experience. Same good food esp seafood. The turkish apple tea was nice and also the baklava.

Small place , lacks a bit of character and bit run down. The menu items with descriptions is great and prep the guest for appetising meal but unfortunately the execution is bad! Everything lacked the right flavours, wrong use of spices, wrong twist of Mediterranean food! The octopus is cheery, the hummus is thick and not silky, zucchini fritters oily and wilted, fried chicken is bland and maybe the shish taouk was ok but again very basic! Wouldn’t go back again for sure!

Lovely food. A good range, delicately flavoured and pretty decent value. A little slow taking our order but food arrived quickly after that. Definitely recommended. Kitchen staff seemed happy, which is always a good sign.

Gluten-free food was the main reason for coming here and it did not disappoint. Wonderful Mediterranean food in a nice atmosphere in a pedestrian street in South Kensington. We’ll be back.

Stumbled across it while wandering around London. Very welcoming, helpful advice. Gorgeous fresh dishes with quality ingredients and fabulous house crafted beer. Meze style with lots of veg and non-veg options. Lovely background music in a uniquely decorated space. The toilets are super clean and amazing - like an art gallery. Four dishes and two drinks for £58. Beats burger and chips!!

I went there with friends after seeing the high star rating online, however it was very disappointing- the amount of food is tiny compared to its price, and the £16 (or £18? plus 12.5% service charge!) rabbit leg which I thought was an unusual dish was tasteless and very dry, also too small to be real. I had rabbit meat before I know the difference. Really can’t recommend to anyone with decent taste buds and appetite👎🏽

I recently visited CERU and had a mixed experience. Food: The lamb shank and Mediterranean breakfast were exceptional. Each dish was flavourful and well-prepared, capturing the essence of Eastern Mediterranean cuisine. The overall quality of the food was impressive and left us satisfied. Other dishes were not so exceptional including a 'salad' composed of apples and mint Service: The service was outstanding. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, enhancing our dining experience significantly. Concerns: Two issues detracted from our visit. First, it was unclear whether the food was halal. Although the waiter confirmed that most items were halal, this information should be clearly communicated on the menu, as it is important for many diners. Additionally, I was extremely distressed to see that some menu items, including wine, were imported from Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories. This decision is highly controversial and upsetting for many patrons, myself included. It would be wise for the restaurant management to reconsider this choice, as it may alienate a portion of their customer base who are sensitive to such issues. Moreover, it feels inconsiderate, immoral, and unethical to feature such products given the political implications.

Super nice evening. Attentive and fun staff, excellent food (slow cooked lamb a particular highlight) and eclectic, tasty wine selection. And all we managed to save for a picture is Messing with Eton (a twist on the Eton Mess) 🥰👌🏻 absolutely recommended!

The design of the restaurant is lovely and the staff were nice but, as a vegetarian, I found the food very lacking. Particularly the pea and artichoke salad which seemed like they’d emptied a bag of peas and throw in a couple artichokes into a bowl with some tumeric. I don’t think this restaurant is worth the money for any veggies

Beautiful place with delicious food. It was our second time here and it was definitely worth it. Service is very friendly and attentive. And you've got to try different dishes with small sharing plates. Chocolate & tahini mousse was a perfect finish to our meal.

I loved the bread and the lamb.

Took a vegetarian friend here for her birthday and she loved it! We ordered 4 dishes and they all complimented each other in terms of flavour and texture: the 3 dips, fennel salad, spiced cauliflower and the holloumi dish. I can also recommend the cucumber margarita and the cocktail with ginger beer. The watermelon lemonade was on the sweet side for me. Food also comes out fast. Highly recommend.

Trip of dips is a must. Apple pomegranate salad was also amazing, light, refreshing. We also loved the Roasted cauliflower and shish chicken a lot!!

The first time here is the and the staff helped with menu suggestions, all small dishes but plenty for 2. Dishes arrived as they were prepared by the kitchen. I will be back here soon.

This is a true gem in the heart of South Kensington. Food was delicious with really fresh ingredients, the service and recommendations from our server was spot on, and the general ambience is friendly and welcoming. Trio of dips, lamb, cauliflower, aubergine and halloumi were outstanding, but really everything was good. Even tried Georgian wine for the first time! Everyone in our party said we would be returning. Highly recommended.

Delicious restaurant, great for sharing with friends. Very “hidden treasure” and not a tik Tok type restaurant which we really enjoyed. We had 9 dishes recommended to us by the lovely Sindu- all were delicious and packed with flavour. Can’t wait to take more friends here. Please give Sindu a raise!

Busy (and loud) South Ken restaurant. Interesting menu with new things to try. Food is home cooking rustic style i.e. not very well presented or elevated. Service is efficient, but due to the busyness of the restaurant, it is not very personable. Worth a try, but not somewhere I would go back to.

This place is a 5 all around, the food was amazing, the service outstanding and the location it self is nice, cozy and very chic. Polenta & Feta fries are to die for, the Zuccinni & feta fritters delish.

A brilliant little restaurant and the foodie highlight of our weekend visit to Kensington. We are there twice and both occasions the food was delicious. We tried the lamb shoulder, spice fried chicken, battered squid and shish taouk. Each sharing plate was rich, fragrant and delicious and because it's almost all gluten free, we could happily share our meal. The atmosphere was buzzy and we thought the service was another highlight – the staff were friendly and personable and despite being incredibly busy, always had time to chat and follow-up on the food and your visit.

While visiting London, we found ourselves in South Kensington on a warm June evening and had a perfect impromptu dinner at CERU. The menu is diverse & creative and the food was fantastic & highly shareable. The watermelon & feta salad, hummus and the lamb special were particularly yummy! The service was even better - the owner Greg was super friendly & passionate and accommodated us walk-ins with a lovely outdoor table and kind conversation. A total must do for a delicious, healthy & relaxing dinner in the S Kensington area. We can’t wait to go back!

This restaurant was one of the biggest surprises of our trip to London. One evening, we passed by and saw that it was packed, so we wanted to go in, but it was impossible to get a seat without a reservation. We tried again the next day at noon, and luckily it was a Monday, so we got in. The interior was warm and cozy, and the staff patiently explained everything. Every dish was beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We ordered chicken, lamb, fish, and fried squid. We were very lucky to find such a highly recommended restaurant in London. If you're staying in South Kensington, you must give this place a try. Btw, their fresh lemon juice is also very good.

Lots of gluten free options including beers. They suggest getting three items which I did, but two would have been enough. I had king prawns , chicken and the rice. Food was good, but not great.

Second time at this lovely restaurant. Absolutely loved the meme style food. Service excellent and atmosphere got better as it got busier. Had a nice bottle of Israeli wine too 🍷🇮🇱 and would recommend that you try this if passing or seek it out if you’re in the area. Another visit and another excellent meal. Joined by family who are both vegetarian and they absolutely loved it too. The meze style of eating and sharing is the way to go. Becoming one of our favourite places to eat if we are going to the Albert Hall a short walk away 😁😁

Amazing food! Some of the best food we've ever had. Bonus, most items on the menu are gluten free without needing adjusting, which is great. So good we went twice (were only in London 3 nights), no regrets. Staff is friendly and it is nicely decorated as well.

I tried this restaurant after seeing it recommended online as a must try in South Kensington. I ordered the Braised Octopus, Lamb Shoulder, watermelon lemonade, Dark Chocolate & Tahini Mousse and Turkish apple tea. This was truly excellent food, as everything was beyond delicious. The service was great and the atmosphere very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.

Very good food at Ceru. We ordered plenty and it was all excellent. There was a huge amount of choice for non meat eaters, we had hummus, bread, apple and mint salad, aubergine, garlic potatoes and a cauliflower dish. Highly recommend!

Very disappointed because the taste is very particular, very expensive for what it is and there is a service tax of only 12.5% ​​of the totality of what we took which is noted in very small amounts. But the homemade lemonade is good.

One of the best restaurants I ate in London. Everyone was very attentive. It's a small plates place. Ideal for sharing with people. We had delicious Turkish wine and ordered 3 dishes. Three in one: three pastries with warm bread. Roasted Leg Oil Rabbit: A delicious rabbit leg with fried rice. Karides: Shrimp in an incredible tomato sauce. Best dish here without a doubt. Absolutely fantastic food and service, the dishes are bursting with flavour, the restaurant is nicely laid out and attractively decorated. We shared half a dozen small plates (the apple and mint was a particular favourite) washed down with a carafe of North Macedonian red wine. Superb, couldn't fault any aspect of it, I'll be going back there soon!

Ceru is an upmarket trendy Mediterranean restaurant in South Kensington. It has a lovely ambience and sets a precedent for a romantic evening. To start off, do indulge in the 3 in 1 hummus, so velvety and creamy. The octopus if it's your kind of seafood, grazed and blazed to a tee. Lamb shoulder was seasoned and tender. For me, lacked a bit of punch in flavour or were my taste buds masked with the previous dishes? A conundrum. Halloumi and pepper, a delightful combo. Halloumi was a tad salty but delivered with the right consistency. Wash it down with watermelon lemondade ... Surreal..

Four of us visited for lunch. Wonderful food, unhurried atmosphere, and decent value. The Macedonian viognier wine was wonderful. Recomended :-)

My husband has a gluten intolerance, so we were excited to find an almost entirely gluten free restaurants. Everything was perfection from the gluten free beers to the warm artichoke and pea salad. Our waiter Richard was so helpful In making suggestions and ensuring we had a great visit. Cannot recommend this place enough! It is a hidden gem!

Lovely Mediterranean cousine, nice ambience, good food, great service. Came for late lunch with a friend after a V&A exhibition. It is within walking distance from the museum, in a picturesque alley road. We ate the three humus for a starter and the artichoke and peas salad. Combined with warm pita bread, they were a great starter. For mains, we tried the aubergine and octopus plates. They were both tasty, but i would exchange the aubergine plate for the meat skewers. It was a bit too greasy for my taste. The star of the menu, though, was the baklava ice cream with the caramelised tofu pieces. Delicious and unique. Wine options were great too, we went for an Israeli Red wine, which we both appreciated.

Restaurant I return to every time I go to London. The service was great thanks to the waiter who also speaks perfect Spanish and advised us very well on the number of dishes. The menu is very varied with starters, meats (the lamb is spectacular) and fish. Many gluten-free dishes suitable for celiacs. Delicious desserts. Congratulations to the chefs for how good and well decorated they present each dish.

You can't go wrong. You will absolutely love this place! Options for so many diet restrictions. GF, vegan. The menu is very clearly labeled. The owner Barry waits on tables and is so friendly! Great ambience. Nice place to come alone or with a group. If you're eating alone, sitting at the window bar is great to people watch. I cleared every single plate. The octopus was tender, perfectly done. Lamb was fork tender. Great espresso. Everything I ordered was delicious. I am coming back for more!

I spontaneously went to the tapas/meze restaurant during my photo tour and it was delicious. Each plate was very well put together and seasoned. After 3 tapas I was stuffed and the homemade lemonade was the icing on the cake. The service staff is very attentive, explains the restaurant concept in detail and works quickly. I recommend it. Typical London prices.
