Not sure what to make of this. A small family run Italian bistro. Good menu of main courses and pastas at sensible prices. But service so rapid one feels all the food was prepared in advance and blitzed to heat prior to service. Speed of the essence. No chance to linger here. I would come back but wouldn’t make a beeline

Service was very slow, had to wait 35minutes before food arrived. The meals were slightly warm and tasteless. One of my fiends ordered a lasagna which was dry, looked as if it was a week old, I will never go there again as I’ve seen more Italian in a tin of tomatoes than the food that we were served. Very disappointing and when we complained nothing was done……. I would give this place a miss!

Post matinée (not Hampstead) & decided to head home for a bite. A great choice. Four difficult customers! Sharing starters of fried zucchini, bruschetta, olives. One schnitzel (rice sub for grilled veg), a grilled salmon (no salad, sub veg & chips), one pasta and one... "I just fancy avocados, prawns & & &". Not a problem😅🥰! Wines, beer, special tea... All delightful & excellent service. Our lovely server even saved my hat left from ages ago!!! A street cafe by the bus stop with restaurant quality food, service, style. Fabulous 🥰

Found this place by accident, a great find. Very good, fresh food, friendly helpful waistress and a very reasonable price. The ambience of this small but cosy return was also very pleasant. We'll visit again.

Im just so happy with the food and the service, i have to say there Sea Bass is the very best and just cooked to perfection. I always enjoy the food and the service and not forgetting the happy chef whom is always smiling.

Not the same anymore! Completely changed atmosphere and useless staff,we used to come back for years,so did our friends! Now it’s utter rubbish it’s really a shame used to be our favourite place

Superb! Popped in after cinema at Vue 02, Saturday evg. Table cloths, flowers. So pretty. Pasticcio had teansformed to a restaurant & not a coffee shop! Mum had a pasta with fresh grilled veggies. Superb. I opted for veal & mushrooms, cream. Asked for just roast potatoes as accompaniment. Off piste. No hassle. Equally superb. A glass of wine each, and a coffee afterwards. Service, food, value all excellent. An absolute pleasure 💖

I have been here a few times for dessert, brunch and dinner. Generally good. Nice menu of seafood, pasta, steaks and more. They also do breakfast or brunch till late in the afternoon which is useful plus lunch too. Small local, cosy but basic restaurant. Staff are friendly and pleasant. Very nice and service is good. Clean. Portion sizes are generous. All food I have had has been good apart from the steak which was tough and fatty. Other than that lovely. Food is freshly prepared and tasty. Reasonably priced. The restaurant is small and quite tightly spaced so more suited for couples, parties of two or small groups. They don't accept American Express. Staff are good with dietary restrictions or if you want a dish adjusted slightly. Would recommend if you are in the area or a local. Hampstead Theatre is nearby so this is a good dining option before or after a show.

Went here after our usual go to Italian was closed…was not disappointed!!! Service & food were fantastic.Babbi (??) was an amazing hostess & cook. My son was so impressed with the tiramisu he actually had 2 portions,& said it was some of the best he’s ever had!! Would definitely recommend,& will be back next time we stay in that part of London.Prices we’re very reasonable & portions were good.Very impressed x

We went here for a quick dinner before the theatre. The pasta and fish dishes we had were absolutely delicious. The lady who served us was a pleasure to talk to and had also made the amazing desserts we had - an outstanding creme brulee and a tiramisu. The atmosphere was good - we'd definitely eat here again.

Totally amazed. Absolutely welcoming,astonishing family run business with a stunning hostess. She was also cooking and being on the floor,the pair of them together with the owner makes an absolutely fantastic DUO. I think they are a married ciuple,i'm not sure as i haven't asked none of them,but they made us feel like home,the prices were absolutely bargairn compared to other local businesses or St John's Wood. Will definitely come back and will reccomend gladly to anyone who's looking for a friendly welcome,good prices and top quality food prepped in front of you

We were in the area for the theatre and found this little place by chance. No pizzas on offer but we were not there for pizza ! I had the lasagne - better than I have had in Venice even. Made from fresh and a light bechamel sauce. The red housewine was smooth too. Husband had steak and it was cooked the way he likes, with a salad and fries. Everyone who comes here will have a great meal and experience. Staff are friendly and know the locals too by name, can't be bad either !

Been up for dinner last Saturday with the missus and our son and I have to say it was the biggest surprise we’ve ever had.Good to see that this small restaurant is still there in Swiss Cottage going through all this difficult time.The place is run by only two people which obviously are family/relatives The service was excellent and the food was just greatThe all doer lady was magnificent with her friendly way of talking and handling customers,we enjoyed our stay and we’ll be back soonThe chap was also brilliant behind the grill surely.Yet is obvious who’s in charge for most of the things. That woman does an incredible job!

We didn't want fast food that the area is full of so decided on this place and very pleased we did.the service was very friendly and prompt and our dishes of eggs Benedict with ham and cooked breakfast were excellent.id go back and recommend it to anyone

A licensed cafe with good fresh food. Roasted veg, produce first class. Pasta quite exceptional... watched chef stir in pasta to home made carbonara sauce & add a little pasta water. Wine, beer, coffee fine. Great value too. I think chef was getting irritated with absent-minded slow waitress... I was too! Only the two of them.

Been on a 3 days trip to London from Australia.We came by one evening,the hostess gave us the most wonderful experience we have ever had in our lives.She spoke to us from the heart with so much love and appreciation both about her work and towards us.She also cooked us fish and chips and some gorgeous starters.We came to the point when we've catched her singing a bit very very intimidated behind the cooking grillWow we've got shocked.Asked her if she could sing something for us,this is when she revealed that she's an opera singer.We were all the way mesmerised by her fantastic talent.What a gem we've found in Swiss cottage.A young brave woman who obviously can do every single job in that restaurant but also someone who should be singing in covent garden.Definitely we gonna be back next year It was an unforgettable experienceThank you so much for everything Babi

The quality has returned to where it was when I was first recommended this restaurant especially the Tiramisu, in fact I've enjoyed all the dishes I tried here.

Very enjoyable, eating well cooked food at a good price with excellent and friendly service by people like Babi and her companions. Highly recommended for an honest and unpretentious culinary experience. Chef willingly changed order with smile on his face. Twice we've eaten there, once fish and chips, then spaghetti, and each time the food came up trumps

Una decisión que resultó ser la correcta.Tuve el espagueti a la boloñesa y mi esposa tenía el filete de atún, ambos eran excelentes y seguí con el tiramisú clásico italiano y no me decepcionó.Regado con una botella de Merlot, terminó una velada muy agradable a un costo muy justo.Nos atendió Vanessa, que fue muy atenta y profesional y un activo obvio para el restaurante.Una vez más, gracias por una velada muy agradable.

The food at Pasticcio has always excellent. The service took a dip for a bit and the staff could be heard arguing and generally being too noisy. I’m happy to say this has now been remedied under Babi’s excellent new management. Highly recommended.

We've dropped in with the whole Football team after a long day of travelling and training,we asked the host if she can take 20 people,she was obviously worned out after a long night of work but still smiled on us and said :"Whenever you're ready,i'm ready"

Been there for dinner last wednesday,the waiter was absolutely brilliant,helpful and very efficient even my sister was flatered by the warm welcome.

Love this restaurant and visit once a week for an evening meal with my partner. They serve straightforward Mediterranean food and I particularly enjoy the fish with grilled vegetables. Babi always knows what we like and she and the cooks work hard to make sure we have a nice evening.

I Am studying near by and stumbled on Pasticcio one day after classes. It is now a regular spot for me and my friends and I highly recommend it to anyone who asks for somewhere to eat around Swiss Cottage. The food is delicious, great value for money and we are always warmly welcomed by Babi!

A wonderful place and food I discovered by chance when walking by. I was attracted by the atmosphere, very friendly and welcoming. A nice vibe. I took the swordfish, which was cooked to perfection, with a light sauce like I never had before. You could tell the food was prepared with care and love. I had a following fascinating discussion with the chef cook and the manager. It was obvious when talking with them that they care about their food. Products are fresh and the chef is clearly talented. The entire experience was lovely. This has become my go-to for quality and non fussy lunch/dinner. A great value for money.

Mi esposa y yo necesitábamos un lugar para almorzar y íbamos al teatro Hampstead cercano. Entramos y tomamos el desayuno y el gran desayuno alrededor de las 12: 20 pm del miércoles 20 de febrero. El lugar pronto se llenó, ya que es muy popular. La comida estaba bien hecha, salchichas, frijoles, tocino, pan tostado, tomates fritos, huevo frito, y tiene marrones. Buen servicio, pero advirtiendo que el café necesita efectivo, no plástico. Había un cajero cerca. Yo le daría al lugar una calificación de 6/10 y no más.

Habiendo aparecido antes para hacer una reserva, nos dijeron que el restaurante estaba abierto hasta las 10 pm. Llegamos a las 8. 15 hs. Cuando pedimos los entrantes y los platos principales, ¡nos dijeron que tendríamos que haber servido ambos al mismo tiempo, ya que era demasiado tarde! La comida era buena, pero nos sentimos como un inconveniente y no podían esperar a que nos fuéramos. Visita decepcionante!

Ella cocineros y un increíble servicio genial, ella es muy amable, acogedor y sentir realmente hizo en casa! Deliciosas comidas, servicio rápido. . . Siempre sonrientes absolutamente genial! Muy, muy servicial y agradable, absolutamente placer ver su hablar a todo el mundo en 20 idiomas, por lo menos, pero aprender unas cuantas lenguas es una cosa, y esta señora increíble es todo un gran corazón, ella está haciendo todo desde el corazón, se puede ver en el camino, ella es, ella sirve o hablando ella cocina!

Visited Pasticcio for breakfast on Sunday for the first time after walking by it hundreds of times. Pasticcio has a British Cafe feel and decor with an Italian menu. The interior is dominated by a fridge unit and an open kitchen which provides a glimpse of the chef at work. The floor space consists of rows of tables for two people with a larger table accommodating six on one of the corners. The place maintains a degree of cozyness yet the decor is tired. The place could do with some freshening up. The service was efficient and attentive.

We have been three times recently for an after-theatre meal and enjoyed it each time It is a small place with a warm atmosphere: the tables are close together and you can see the chefs at work, . The service is prompt and friendly. The food is excellent value, freshly prepared, with good sized portions. The house wine is also OK. Nothing fancy or pretentious, just a good Italian place for a satisfying meal.

Had a lovely English breakfast with tea and a mozarella tomato avocado salad all freshly made. Preparation needs some time. Very friendly service! All at a moderate price. Selection of Italian dishes with spaghetti or other pasta or a large variety of sandwiches available. Coffee machine looks great but have not tasted a cup of coffee. Rather small location with not many tables. Closes at 9pm. You really feel at ease here.

La comida era satisfactoria y abundante, el vino era razonable y (lo más importante para nosotros) a un precio razonable. Que cada zona de Londres tenía un restaurante tan bueno para una comida rápida. Hay una lección aquí para cada operador pequeño: no pretencioso, simplemente ser bueno, y los clientes se acuden a ti.

Cuando visite el teatro hampstead en húmedo la noche del martes estábamos buscando una cena antes del teatro y recibimos varias sugerencias. Como teníamos poco tiempo fuimos para la opción restaurante italiano justo al otro lado del cruce y me alegro de haberlo hecho. El servicio fue muy agradable y personal, y la comida era muy buena. Gracias de nuevo por el chef pastas recién hechas! Sin duda volveremos cuando estamos en el vecindario.

Buen restaurante italiano, pequeño, acogedor, buena comida. Tenía un plato de pollo. Pollo tenía jamón, queso y tomate, junto con las verduras fritas y una ensalada. Realmente bueno.

Decided to try this nearby place for Saturday morning meal. Omelette with mushrooms and scrambled eggs with salmon were tasty and fresh keeping in mind a very good price for it.

We loved this gorgeous cafe/restaurant. Had a lovely classic touch to it but was inviting and relaxed. Food was absolutely exquisite. Really authentic. Great flavours. Family run. Love it. Was my first time going and beats any Pizza/Past chain. Highly recommend.

My Cousin, her 4 year old daughter and myself quickly nipped in for a bite to eat as the Pasta sounded great and the price was so reasonable...AND it wasn't a chain, it was a local and personable Italian Restaurant/Bistro. I had the Spaghetti Carbonara and it was divine..Nice and creamy, how it should be! My Cousin has Smoked Salmon Pasta and was tasty too! My only criticism is that the food should of all come out at once.. My Cousin received hers 7 minutes before mine and same with her daughter, but the service, the gorgeous food and the portions for the money we paid, we couldn't fault it! We will return if in the area again!

I have just moved to the area and needed a quick bite. The service was quick and friendly, and I had a big and very tasty jacket potato with chicken. Good free wifi as well! Look forwards to this place becoming a regular haunt. Be aware that there's a minimum £10 spend to pay by card though.

Fish & Chips e pesce Spada ottimo.Buonissime anche le lasagne rigorosamente cotta al momento, lasagne molto invitanti. Squisiti i dolci a base cioccolata.Prezzi interessanti. Consigliatissimo per gli standard londinesi.

Part of a group of three, we chose this restaurant because my friends had eaten there last year. We were in London for the Remembrance Sunday Ceremony as part of a much larger group.Quaintly decorated, the atmosphere was friendly and informal, the food delicious (I had the veal in a creamy, mushroom sauce, yum!), the service was attentive but unobtrusive, with just the right balance between 'there when required' but not hurried nor lacking.The wine was good, I am told. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the location and really good value.We had an excellent meal in relaxing surroundings. I will go again.

Quiet and a quaint place. Excellent quality of people visiting (mostly couples). Great place to have dinner with no noise and attention to each table. The ingredients used in the food are of excellent quality and preparation to match. Shall visit on every visit to London. Rare Place.

We had been to this restaurant a couple of years ago and returned last night. The food is generous in portions, well cooked and very tasty. The staff are charming and the restaurant is extremely homely. Service is quick but not excessively quick.

Gem of Swiss Cottage , never disappoints ..I am a big lover of pasta carbonara , they do it really well . Good cafe with fresh orange juice if you want healthy option. Staff are really friendly . Highly recommended

We've been to Pasticcio several times whilst going to the Hampstead Theatre, and have enjoyed each visit. The food is Italian, obviously, and in many ways the restaurant is a little old fashioned - but in a good way. All the food is prepared while you wait, and is excellent value. A good range of dishes, with around a dozen different pastas, four each of chicken and veal dishes, and a range of others. I usually have chicken or veal, and my companion pasta - the seafood marinara. We've only ever tried the house wines, but the red is very good, and reasonably priced too. Altogether an excellent place for a pre- or post-theatre visit.

Stumbled on this small place for breakfast when staying near by - and went back a second and third time. Freshly squeezed orange juice, flakey croissants and omelets with a Greek flair..

There doesn't seem to be much choice in places to eat near the Hampstead Theatre but you can do worse than Pasticcio. It's a small and intimate family restaurant, with good food and friendly service. We noticed members of the cast eating there too, which is a good sign.

Decent sized portions and speedly service make this a good place to choose to eat before going to the theatre. The food has the flavour of traditional home cooking, wholesome and very good value.Why didn't I give 5 stars? The restaurant really needs to do something to smarten up the toilet and ensure it is kept properly clean.

We have enjoyed take away classic Fish and Chips, it was tasty and fresh. Staff was friendly and our order has been made very fast. I do recommend this restaurant for enjoying an authentic London's cousine.

The food here is amazing. My friends and I eat here for lunch quite a lot. The price is really good. However, occasionally the staff can be extremely rude. If you can see past the rudeness then this place is worth the visit for the food. (Feta Cheese Salad is great!)

Warm and welcoming with excellent food at reasonable prices I don't really think I need to spend time writing more I have eaten in some of the neighbouring restaurants and frankly they're poor but this place is great.Don't walk past just go in and save yourself a disappointing walk down the road

Very unpretentious eaterie,have eaten here twice whilst going to Hampstead theatre.the portions are generous,well presented and tasty.the usual Italian fare,my husband especially enjoyed his steak and I had swordfish which was lovely.only critisicism is the staff were a bit miserable but it's all about the food so I would return.
