Was looking forward to this place, but ended up pretty disappointed with the food, service and the prices. This place is overrated for what it is.

Really interesting and high quality food. Service very good. Mainly small plates which I think are slightly over priced, but the food is really enjoyable. This was my second visit and I will certainly return.

Portion size is definitely on the smaller end but the quality of food has surprised us. Seasoning was on point, not covered in olive oil/covered in salt flakes like other Spanish/Italian restaurant. Service was great, attentive waitors who know their wines inside out. Great chilling/dating spot!

Stumbled upon this place while traveling and I’m so glad I did. The staff were very friendly, especially the bartender! She had great recommendations for me while I’m traveling. great service and food - all reordered as we came in a large group. Able to order veggie dishes off the a la carte for one veggie separate from the group food menu, so that was a nice touch. Acoustics downstairs weren't great, so everyone speaking loudly, i imagine those on a date night wouldn't have loved it...

Perfect place! We Went there. Two girls from Czech republic. Guys were treated with us as princesses. They were really nice to us. Smile all the time. Take care all the time. We had a great time! I can really reccomend this place! 👏☺️👍

I stumbled into this place on Tuesday evening to meet a friend for a drink...which ended up in a lot of food and a drink! I really enjoyed the atmosphere, busy but not overly so that you couldn't hear yourself think! The drinks were reasonably priced and the food was delicious. I would say though that I felt the food to be a little overpriced compares to other places I have visited but it all tasted amazing. A great little find for a mid-week dinner.

This was a great experience from the get go, a warm welcome by the host and an equally warm atmosphere where we sat for our meal, we chose the chef's taster menu, including prawn, beef, calamari, mushroom and potato. We ended with the chocolate pudding with ice cream. Top marks to the chef and the serving staff. Special thanks to Maria for looking after us, she really is lovely and made the whole experience a delight. Have to add the Italian white wine (can't remember the name) was fantastic!!

Recently dined here with a large group on the set £50 menu The atmosphere and staff were very pleasant overall, could’ve done with someone welcoming us once we had all been seated at the table rather than just bringing the food straight out without a word The food was a mixture, some of it was very good (pork cheeks, monk fish, duck, flatbreads) some of it was a bit average and didn’t have much flavour (patatas bravas, squid). I feel like having good patatas bravas is something a tapas restaurant should have nailed, ours were undersalted and the cheese/ sauce didn’t taste of much For the high price of the restaurant I would expect both higher quality and quantity of the food - and was therefore left feeling a bit underwhelmed and disappointed overall

Although we booked well in advance, we were treated to a table right next to the toilets. We also had a great view of the 'slop bucket' where the leftovers were dropped into. However, our waitress was excellent and very attentive. Our food was good but we left the Patatas Bravas since they tasted like they were 'warm ups' and were unpleasant to eat. Even though we left the entire dish, our waitress didn't ask if there was anything wrong but dust dumped into into the aforementioned slop bucket.

One of the best culinary experiences I've had in London. We had the tasting menu, and every bite was a new unforgettable discovery. The wine was exquisite and the staff were super friendly and attentive. I also had the best Basque Cheescake I've ever had in my life.

I have eaten patatas bravas and manchego, this was good but not exceptional . I also ordered the grilled artichoke with coconut yoghurt, I didn't finish it because the sauce wasn't good.. Unfortunately I won't be back. The staff is nice and the restaurant looks great.

Have eaten here about 5 times in total, but the previous time was about 2 years ago. Fortunately I’m please to say the standards haven’t dropped at all. Great food, Great drinks, Great knowledgeable staff. Will be back !

Stopped in here with a few friends for a quick dinner and cocktails a few weeks ago, the braised pork cheeks and the blood orange caipirinha were particularly good. The staff were great with a special call out to Danny who was super attentive.

1st time we’ve been in the saltyard it certainly won’t be the last the staff were efficient and friendly food was excellent we made a good choice couldn’t fault it nice ambience drinks were not as expensive as other restaurants so all good

Brilliant tapas restaurant! Grilled octopus leg is wonderful! Love their grilled pepper as well. It’s a bit pricy but worth a try.

A nice experience overall. I would recommend trying Salt Yard it if you’ve never been, but although I enjoyed it, for me it’s not the type of restaurant i’d want to go back to multiple times over and over again

We really enjoyed our time at Saltyard. We had the vegetarian options which were all excellent. The staff were helpful and attentive. The food was served very quickly too.

Our waitress was absolutely lovely, recommending a delicious extra dish to us, and ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Thank you!

Tapas with many options, decent food good for sharing!

This was a second visit, but very disappointing. The evening did not start off to a good start as the bar/manager as sullen, rude and very unwelcoming made it clear he was not happy to have customers . We did not have a reservation but it was 6.30pm and there was only two tables occupied - the rest of the night the restaurant only ever had two or three tables occupied. The friendly waitress placed us at the very end and he immediately said in a very loud accusing voice DO THEY HAVE A RESERVATION? and she explained there were lots of tables and she had moved one up. There was no need to treat us like lepers and show his contempt for these heathen people who had failed to organise their whole lives around him and his empty restaurant. We were smiley and friendly but were faced with cold faced scorn. I do not think it was us - everyone seemed to get the same rude, bored, too good for us treatment. They handed out he menu and asked straight away what we wanted and so we asked for a couple of minutes to decide - again faced with scorn. For the following 25 mins we tried to get his and the waitress attention to order. This happened for the rest of the night - we were stuck at the far end of the restaurant so hard to catch their eye but they would not check on us and we had to get up every time we wanted to: Order drinks Order food Order more drinks Ask for dessert menu Ask for the bill Every time the same man was standing with his back to us - doing nothing, the other waitress was busy or getting questioned by him (I do feel for the waitresses, he is clearly not a pleasant person to work with). The food ... The croquettas and the fish dishes arrived first, 3 plates - all cold. It all tasted nice but had clearly been made much earlier and just left to sit until someone ordered. The Croquettas were totally cold with a hint of tepid heat from an hour ago, the fish again - was just cold. The waitress said afterwards that a la planch meant they just touch the heat ... but sadly this may have had heat an hour earlier - but certainly not made fresh for the table. Same for the dish. Patatas bravas - again clearly been sitting just getting cold. The only dish that was warm was a tortilla - maybe that was microwaved. All the other dishes were meaty and I did not taste - and took longer to come up - so they may have been cooked to order. To be honest - i can take the cold food - what really ruined it was the rude man. Wont be going back - this was a very special treat and special occasion, it cost a lot of money which I work really hard to earn and the man and his rude attitude totally ruined it.

Good service during busy Christmas work lunch and great selection of tapas suitable for a variety of palettes and dietary requirements.

I am afraid we did not enjoy our night out here. The music was terrible - really loud, and fast, really unrelaxing - the sort of thing that seems designed to signal to customers "eat up fast, and leave quickly", which might make sense in Five Guys but not in a place that costs this much. The restaurant was not busy when we were there and I asked if it could be turned down a little. Nothing changed (or if it did, we didn't notice). Some of the food - the tuna - was delicious, but lots of it pretty ordinary and all of it was overpriced. The patatas bravas was warm tasteless stodge. I very politely said that we were not happy with it. The first waitress then patronisingly explained what patatas bravas is (with the clear implication that I should know that this is how it is meant to taste). So I spoke to a second waitress, who told me that she had eaten it at lunch and she had enjoyed it. A really rubbish response from both of them (though the second waitress did remove it from the bill). This is just bad service, wouldn't you agree?

The restaurant is one step away to a big shopping mall. The lady helped us with the menu since it was our first experience in a tapas restaurant. She also explained to us how certain items are cooked since my friend is allergic to some ingredients. She was very helpful and also made Great recommendations. They also serve homemade lemonade which was so refreshing. The food was delicious. You can opt to order a few dishes and you can order more along the way. Lovely experience and tasty food .

2nd visit in as many months and as good this time as last. The small plates are really tasty, and the wine list is extensive. The mix of Spanish and Italian seems odd at first but actually is a great mix - each dish stands on its own feet - from tortellini to braised pig cheeks. Nice quiet location just round the corner from Borough Market.

This used to be one of my favourite places and has been for many many years. I have not been for a long time and booked for myself and a friend and sadly it was very disappointing. The food was mediocre as was the service such a shame!

The food and drinks were good, we had a selection of things from the menu and everything tasted good. The place lost stars because of its service, I think they were understaffed. The waitress ordered one wrong dish, we decided not to change it and the wrong dish was good. But also we had to flag the waitress down later in the evening to order dessert and get the bill as nobody was checking in on us. Could have been really good if it wasn’t for the inconsistent service.

We had a lovely dinner at Salt yard, the service was excellent, especially Giulia was fantastic. We enjoyed most of the dishes, but the prawns were not fresh "basically frozen," and the squid arrived cold at the table. The venison, beef tartare, and duck were delicious, and the cheesecake with a drizzle of truffle honey was exquisite. I would recommend only the meat or vegetarian tapas and desserts.

Pleasant Italian/spanish style tapas. We did the tasting/sharing menu and added a few other dishes. Highlights were the prawns and the chorizo. Good wine and service good too. A little slow at times but good overall!

Booked a table of 12 for our Christmas Dinner and had a great spot downstairs. The service, food and atmosphere were all great and we had a fantastic time!! Thanks to the Salt Yard team for making it a memorable Christmas. Will definitely be going back.

Staff were incredibly unfriendly on arrival. The main waiter seating people was extraordinarily rude.

Lovely little place for a plethora of delicious wine and some decent small plates. Service was excellent, a bit slow at times but overall friendly and attentive. We ate a fair few, all the dishes we had were pleasant but I’d definitely recommend the; - Tempura courgette flower - Grilled octopus with garbanzo stew I hear the croquetas were amazing but I didn’t get to try those. If you’re not drinking much wine, the prices are reasonable… but certainly runs up if you want a few glasses!

Ben made the Salt Yard experience for us. He has the kind of skills rarely seen in front of house staff. Friendly, helpful and available yet discreet, observant and timely. You may not notice when the empty wine glasses are taken away and water glasses refilled - Ben is that slick. Additionally, he has a phenomenal memory and remembered our order of 9 small plates without need of pen and paper. 5 stars for Ben alone.

Everything was lovely! I left a note on my booking statingnI was pregnant and I definitely felt looked after. The food was all delicious and came out in a timely manner. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed everything! We'll be back :)

Went with a group of 9 and had high hopes as I love Ember Yard and have always been blown away by their food and service. Everything was just ok unfortunately, food ok except patatas bravas and tuna were very good. Service just about ok - no smiles or talking through the menu and choices, nor any explanation of what was being served from the set menu. Very transactional and not very hospitality led. Churros were overcooked and the chocolate sauce very runny. As I said, all fine, just not what I expected for almost £100 per head. Toilets also a bit grubby.

The salt yard group restaurants used to be a firm favourite. Used to go every couple of weeks. Haven’t been for a little while and came back and unfortunately it’s massively gone down hill. The food is so bland now and everything has shrunk in size. Really expensive for what is is now. Staff were lovely and attentive so can’t fault them but there’s way better places to eat. Won’t be coming back again which is a shame.

We came here to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The food was absolutely wonderful and the service was great.

We used to be regular customers of Salt Yard a decade ago. Last night we returned for a family reunion and we’re shocked at how much it has changed, sadly for the worse. From the moment we arrived & were greeted by a very annoyed front of house staff - to having to constantly flag down the waitress to take our orders, etc - the place was fairly empty on a Friday night (also surprising) and the staff seemed mainly disinterested and annoyed to be there. It was a real disappointment and such a pity as it used to be a great restaurant.

Nice place, good service, but I think the food was a little disappointing. Excellent cheese board to start, decent artichoke, but very ordinary patatas bravas and croquetas. At this price point, I expected better.

I really enjoyed the food here. It's quite authentic Spanish food many in tapas form. The staff is lovely. The wine list is very good with fantastic food pairings. You can eat at the bar which is really good if you're on your own.

One of my favourite restaurants in London! High quality food, reasonable prices and deliciousness. I always love to have the whole sea bass. Carmine goes the extra mile to make your experience exceptional!!

My wife and I have been here a few times over the years and always had a good experience, but sadly not this time. We decided to have lunch here on Sunday, 15 October. Although the food was good the service was very poor. One member of staff appeared to have a lot that he wanted to say to his colleagues. As they were stood within earshot of our table we couldn't help but overhear everything that was being said, which is not conducive to a pleasant dining experience. We have no interest in hearing about his latest staff appraisal, or anything else that was on his mind. We were offered the menu to choose a dessert, but even though we waited for a considerable amount of time the waiter did not return to take our order. In the end we had to interrupt the chat that was going on behind the bar to request the bill. We removed the 12.5% service charge from our bill as the service was so poor. Disappointing, as we had previously enjoyed coming here on previous visits. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back. Also, the hand dryer in the gents WC wasn't working so I would suggest leaving some paper towels out until you get it working again.

Just popped in on a whim and sat at the bar. Lovely, friendly people. The chorizo and fabada was superb. The octopus excellent, but just lacking slightly the punch needed to make it stand out. Was expecting a greater selection of Spanish reds by the glass. I would nonetheless return here often. Very cozy, small, warm and intimate. Quite loud.

Salt Yard must be on your foodie list when in London #coeliacfriendly #GF The most delicious menu options and Allergy Menu for those like me with dietary needs. So much to choose from but my current personal favourite is the Zucchini Flowers. So rare to be able to have these fully GF and SO delicious. Three times in one week proves it! When you are on a good thing, (and coeliac) stick to it 😊 In addition, varied tapas menu with lots of delicious options. Highly recommend

Is this place called Salt Yard because that's the only seasoning they use? The croquetas, jamon and flat bread were so over-seasoned. Conversely the pork cheeks (nicely cooked) were a bit tasteless. Had high hopes as we love the tapas idea but this place left a bad taste in the mouth.

Food is great and a nice mix of delicious menu items. Service was shocking. One beleaguered waiter was running the whole show, which meant a long wait for drinks, ordering and getting the bill. They also managed to run out of ice, and noted that because there were only two waitiers there would be a 20 minute delay if we wanted cocktails. We then waited another half an hour to order some wine so seems a poor excuse to run out of ice. I'd definitely come back for fold but service / staffing needs to be sorted out

I'm really not going to add anything new here am I? Really good, consistent small plates place. About the fifth time I've been, it never lets me down. Price is edging up - £180 for two, but we did rather let rip. Worth it though.

Lovely cheffy small plates aka Tapas meets modern European cuisine but not up itself as it very much were. Lovely, kind and genuine service from our waitress. Not cheap but fair prices for the place and quality.
