Pastaio - Soho in City of London, Westminster

Ci hanno fatto attendere più di un’ora per farci sedere nonostante il commesso continuasse a dirci che in 10 minuti riuscivamo a sederci al tavolo. Mi sono sentita presa in giro. La pasta sufficiente ma niente di eccezionale che giustificasse l’attesa . Gli spritz erano senza prosecco.

Great place if you are up to to a casual quality lunch. Value and service to be highlighted. In particular Liiban made the difference with his frendly and professional service. Caponata absolutely to try

This place serves really good pasta and they clearly know what they are doing. The sauces we had were simple but tasted incredibly good. The restaurant had a nice buzz about it at lunchtime and it is somewhere that we would definitely visit again. It had a separate vegan menu with a range of choices.

Great value for money, great location, and great atmosphere. We had the whole lobster linguine to share, and we loved it. Although seeing the portion sizes of other mains, I’d argue that the lobster linguine is probably the only dish worth its price. Given that pasta is one of the cheapest ingredients to make or buy, the portion sizes of the normal main plates seem a little stingy. And charging £4 for a physical can of coke - served to the table still in the can - is absolutely galling.

This place is amazing. The food, the area, the ambiance and the employees are one of the best I have ever been. Friendly and amazing food. Le-Ric and Belle are amazing people that made our experience the best and my birthday, unforgettable. Thank you ladies. I will travel To London and go Back, and will tell my friends to visit.

Excellent! Despite not booking this very popular and busy restaurant, the Manager found us a table with just a few minutes wait. The menu offers fresh pasta dishes, expertly crafted and executed. The service is friendly, efficient and fun and is this is always a great place to dine!

If you are after fresh pasta then you can't go wrong. Nice little place in a good location in Carnaby and pretty good value

Çok basit bir makarna çeşidini ( domates soslu ve Parmesan) menüde abartılı bir şekilde anlatıp çok pahalı fiyat vermeleri rahatsız etti. Baslangiclardan ısmarladığımız patlıcanın patlıcanla hiç alakası yoktu. Çocuklara kesinlikle yemek servisinde öncelik tanımadılar. Servis çok kötüydü.

Après notre balade dans le quartier nous commencions à avoir vraiment faim! Nous étions déjà passer devant ce restaurant plus tôt et il avait tapé dans l’œil de mon amie. Nous nous sommes rendu et l’avons pas regretter! Leurs plats de pâtes sont vraiment délicieux et copieux. Le service très sympathique et pro. Pour un prix tout à fais correct. On y reviendra lors de notre prochain séjour à Londres!

Terrible and not so Italian food. The idea is nice but pasta is nothing like that. We went during a night out with friends. Staff was rude and disappointed at every request. We ordered burrata and antipasto misto. The burrata came like a small, classic and normal mozzarella. Was impossible to be share in four. The came the pasta: hard and not cooked (I don't understand how you can't not cook pasta with fresh eggs which is quick to cook and, instead of often being raw, it is often overcooked because it cooks quickly compared to durum wheat pasta). The portion were not enough and pasta was salty, extremely salty. The ragù was fine but salty. The waitresses kept coming by to see if we were out of food to take away the plates. And at a certain point while we were chatting they asked us if we wanted the bill. Nothing Italian about this place. Sorry but I'm Italian and I know certain things because I cook them too. It's tradition not just a business!!!

1) Turned up at 5.15 for our 6pm booking with friends ( who would be arriving at 6). Asked if us two could take the table early. The restaurant was empty. Response - yes but your 90 minutes starts now ( so our friends would have 45 minutes). So we took our custom to the pub opposite. Ridiculous. Not what we wanted and they lost fifty quid. 2) Eat before you go. Tiny portions. Pathetic really.

I had dinner with a friend. The restaurant room is pleasant and was quiet when we were there. The odd thing you'll notice as you sit down is only one row of tables has backs on the chairs, the rest are round stools. Tagliatelle with beef bolognaise was well cooked, tasty but pushing the boundaries on the salt level. Black pepper is good from the grinders available on request. The primitivo wine by the glass was acceptable - wines by the glass here are 6-8.50 pounds for 125ml. The espresso was a mystery, small as one would expect but strangely weak. Quick, friendly service. Minus one star for the chairs. I won't rush back but I will return at some point for a second go.

We came to Pastaio for a friend's birthday and had a great time. Cocktails are delicious (I recommend the negroni) and the house wines do the job. The food menu is simple but effective with a good variety of antipasti and pasta dishes to choose from. To start with we shared a few small plates between us, I'd recommend the foccaccia and burrata (the caponata was slightly oily). Our mains included the tomato pasta, bolognese, and crab pasta. The tomato pasta was delicious - the sauce made with fresh, good quality ingredients and the pasta cooked al dente. The restaurant let us bring in a cake for our friend which was much appreciated and was a fantastic way to finish the evening.

Saw the restaurant and tried our luck despite not having a reservation, luckily they were able to squeeze us in. Service was efficient and we were sat, ordered, fed and checked out in 30m! This worked for us as we were busy anyway but for others, this could feel rushed. Pasta was delicious and fresh, drinks were great and the price was fair. Only downside was that the pasta was a little too salty!! Have to chug down a couple of waters afterwards.

I’d seen a write up about this restaurant in the Swedish press and today we went along to experience it for ourselves. We were not disappointed. Our table was ready when we got there so the first impression was great. We were very well looked after at the table but what was the highlight was the food. We had the beef and porcini pasta and the other person had the wild mushroom tagliatelle. Both dishes were truly delicious. Not that we needed pudding but the tiramisu and chocolate cake just melted in the mouth. Great atmosphere, very buzzy and busy. We were blown away by it and will return.

To start positively, our waitress was friendly. However, she forgot one of our meals (1 out of 3) and the food didn’t come out until the rest of my party was already finished. Carbonara was unbelievably salty and not worth the price. Other waiter was quite snarky and a tad rude, and avoided any form of eye contact after we asked how long the other meal would be. They brought us foccacia on the house, however, we didn’t ask for this or need it as we were having our mains. Overpriced, poor quality service, and average food. Will not be returning.

Carbonara was worst I've ever eaten. Food was stone cold, spot the pecorino and pasta very hard. Also found a long black piece of some sort in my food and reported to the waiter.

Just off of Carnaby Street, London this restaurant was ideal stop for dinner. We had not booked but they fitted us in. My grand daughter and had the radiatore pasta and slow cooked tomatoe sauce with basil and parmesan, which was excellent. For dessert we shared the panettone dish, delicious.

I've I'm sure walked past Pastaio dozens of times but have never really noticed it amongst all the other bars and eateries on Ganton Street and nearby Carnaby Street. Having now visited and had a very enjoyable dinner with work colleagues, I'll definitely take more notice in future. We arrived on a workday night but the place was heaving, so were happy to have booked. Having been left to our own devices for a reasonable time, we ordered bread and olives (and very good house wine) for the table and our own mains - all in the £12-15 range. My mushroom tagliatelle was excellent, as it seems were others mains, a mixed bunch of orders. Service was efficient rather than friendly, but understandably so given the pressure under which restaurant staff were clearly working. On the whole the experience was very enjoyable - and one we'd happily repeat.
