Without doubt the worst service I have ever encountered in a restaurant. Condescending attitude and the server watched over the table like a owl as we were the only people in (not surprising). Had the worst garlic mushroom starter ever encountered followed by a a pasta which was like hunt the chicken. All of the meals were poor with little meat and lots of sauce. When we complained we were told that a breast of chicken was used per two meals - no chance. Would never return.

Decided to try as drive past every day. Cosy restaurant with good decor. Service was excellent, friendly and not over the top. Very helpful. Food was great, well cooked and very tasty. We thought it was reasonably priced on a par with other similar restaurants. Will definitely go again and think it is worth a visit.

Lovely location and friendly setting, upstairs above the wheatsheaf pub but you can’t hear any noise from here, very nice hosts and table service and the food was lovely and also price wise very good with sizeable portions from the starters to the mains.

pizza is unreal and it’s great that you get chips along with every pizza you buy! one of the best places for a takeaway for sure.

…. And very impressed. A table for five midweek and we all chose the 3 course menu as that was what was available at lunchtime. The staff were polite, efficient and asked how our meals were. All of us enjoyed the potato skins starter, two different pasta dishes and three different pizzas for mains and ice cream or coffee for dessert. Great tastes and thumbs up for us all. Would go back.

Well where do I start. After playing pool match in Boldon we got back to the Ben Lomond to late. Being hungry my, well known mate, and I, went to this establishment. My friend who actually worked on their set up and comes in to engineering problems said he's my mate look after him. I wasn't expecting anything but when I asked for salad with my mixed kebab and garlic comments were passed as a joke even the responsible lad behind the bar of the place joking with my mate and taking £1 off. Ok nothing to worry about eh? Having ordered the mixed kebab, I was asked do you want onions and peppers, my reply yes. Why? Because it's part of the order!!!! So watching the same responsible person putting two pincers of kebab meet into a silver food tray meant nothing to me, until I got home. Opening up a tray the same I realised that it was indeed what I'd seen filled with extras of onion and pepper before the other meat. Why was I asked about this and if I'd said no would the poor portion have been better. The fact there was two pitta made no difference to me, one was enough, they didn't ask me about that and change or add more elsewhere. Opening further I found the salad, normal and expected until the sauce. The sauce they and my mate had joked about wasn't garlic but chilli. Even the fact that they'd joked about the order they couldn't get it right. I didn't expect to get any special service but my mate who has done so much for them just wanted them to respect his request. I care that he hasn't had the response he hoped for but even worse for me, STANDING IN THE SHOP PLACING AN ORDER, AND THEY STILL COULDN'T GET IT RIGHT. Spoilt my meal and night.

A party of 20 for a special birthday family celebration. Booked in advance. Sent orders in advance. What a shambles. Service was slow and poor, food came out with long periods between each diners meal resulting in some sitting for ages waiting for their food whilst others finished theirs. . Food was awful except pizzas and garlic breads and salad. Manager was uncooperative when discussing issues. When food was sent back it was recooked not replaced. Atmosphere was flat. Not recommended.
