Absolute Empfehlung!

Excellent food and terrific service. Great value for the whole family. The place was crowded but still did not have to wait and the food was still hot. Looking forward to returning.

We happened to walk down Kensington High Street after going to a show at the Albert Hall and googled restaurants. We liked the idea of some tapas so went to find it. They had a short gap in between bookings and we went in. It was a really lovely menu and we chose a selection. The service of the food was spaced and we all tried each dish as they came out. Every choice we made was delicious. Would thoroughly recommend if you're in the area. The waiting staff were attentive but not intrusive.

I am visiting London from Australia and, unless one has personal recommendations, or finds a real review, the 10 or 15 or 25 best restaurants in an area, listed under Booking.com or Expedia etc aren’t usually a great help. I had been to The Design Museum, and was meeting a friend for lunch. I walked along Kensington High Street and was pretty unimpressed with what I saw in the section I was in. Then I spotted Pascor, a small restaurant, and I thought that the menu sounded interesting. We had the Beetroot Crème Brûlée, the Challah, and the raspberry covered chocolate. I was so pleased! On enquiring, I was told that Tom, the chef, was new and Israeli. I asked to speak to him, and told him that obviously Ottolenghi was not the only talented Israeli chef in London! A week later I returned from Cornwall, and booked for dinner. So delicious! We tried an assortment of dishes, another highlight being the prawns with white chocolate. Not sweet as it sounds, and a lovely flavour. So, I’m delighted to have found this gem. The service was excellent, the prices reasonable. I hope to go there again, when next I visit London.

Wonderfully attentive and friendly waitress from arrival. Delicious sharing plates with exciting and different options to talk about and enjoy. Loving the prawns with white chocolate and beetroot crème brûlée. New menu been out for a few weeks and looks great. Open kitchen adds to the experience. Would definitely recommend. Thank you Pascor Team!

Very enjoyable meal. Restaurant has good feel with excellent service. Food set of vegetarian plates - but lacking protein content. Meat snd fish excellent with the fish filler on a green herby spicy sauce the stand out - though scallops and lamb cutlet ran it close.

Disappointing experience sadly. We were informed (only after asking for an update) that they were short staffed in the kitchen as “someone didn’t turn up” today. Our food took a really long time. We ordered a handful of dishes which all came out one at a time, with 15+ minute gaps in between. This is a problem when it’s “tapas style” and you expect to mix dishes / flavours as the dishes are small. We weren’t able to do this unfortunately which detracted from the experience. We ended up asking to cancel a couple of the last dishes as it was taking too long. When we asked for the bill, we were informed that the card machine wasn’t working and we’d need to take cash out. This was doubly frustrating after such a disappointing experience with the timing of the food. When I caught the manager at the end of the meal to tell him that the food was good but it’s been disappointing (re: the above issues) he seemed completely unbothered and didn’t even apologise. It was such a shame as the food was good. Other guests we spoke to sat around us shared the same frustrations.

Went on a recommendation. Good start [gorgeous Challah bread] and finish [lovely choc & tahini cremeux]. Main dishes were good, but I think I prefer to get my meal in front of me all at once. One dish never arrived, so lost another star for that. Only available coffee is Turkish...

The food was lovely though lacked a bit of flavour. The service was fine. However, it is strange that a restaurant that charges money for late cancellation ( £20 per person) and serves appetiser sized main courses, cannot invest into the upkeep of toilets. There are small, unclean and dilapidated stalls where the seats are falling off. I left with a bruise on my leg after the seat just slid off. Truly, this restaurant can do better. All I can say is that it is a pretentious little place, not reaching the mark.

Too bad that this was so expensive and the service was so unpleasant, because the food is actually really nice and interesting We had lunch today. They charge 30gbp for a 3 course set menu incl. dessert (?!). We can't have sugar, so we were hoping for some flexibility there... They only offered us to chose drinks instead of dessert. OK. But when the bill came, we had been charged more than 35 per person for 2 small plates and a tea! I cancelled the other booking I had at that restaurant. Too bad.

I am extremely disappointed with our recent visit to the restaurant. The food and staff were both excellent, as they always have been on our previous visits. However, the general manager ruined the experience for us. When we queried the bill, he was rude and embarrassed us in front of other diners. As regular customers, we have always enjoyed our experience at this restaurant, but we will not be returning due to the unprofessional behavior of the general manager. It is a shame that such a small interaction can ruin an otherwise enjoyable evening

We were looking for something slightly different for an early evening dinner before event at RAH, and stopped off at Pascor. Staff were very welcoming and service very attentive. Every dish was delicious from the amazing Challah bread, Reverse Tabbouleh salad, crispy potatoes, chargrilled Octopus and Wagyu beef, all based on a small plates sharing style of serving. Hope to visit again when we are next in London and try some of the other dishes. Thoroughly recommend! Accompanied by a few glas sArgentinian Organic Torontes white Thorouh

We came across Ukai by accident as we were making our way through Portobello Market and wanted a more substantial and comfortable lunch than that on offer from the market stalls. We perused the menu outside before entering having decided we liked the look of several dishes, so we went for it. Despite the throngs of people and hustle and bustle of the market outside, Ukai was surprisingly quiet, and with only a couple of other diners, we were given a very generously sized table, with comfortable seating. The paucity of other diners was a bit of a concern and prompted a quick look on TripAdvisor before we settled in and ordered anything. The recent reviews did nothing to alleviate the concerns, but decided to stick with it and were really glad we did. The staff were friendly and efficient and were prepared to explain the menu as well providing a warning that one of the dishes selected may come with a slight wait due to the time it takes to prepare. That wasn't a problem; we took that as an indication the dishes were prepared to order and were fresh. Also, we wanted a relaxed lunch and weren't in any hurry, but TBH, there wasn't any noticeable delay in any of the service. For starters, we went with a couple of cocktails, including a very refreshing Kyoto style mojito, and shared steamed edamame, chicken gyoza and generous portions of pork belly bao buns. Mains included the beef short rib and sizzling beef Toban-Yaki, with sides of broccoli and Japanese mushrooms. The food was well presented, fresh as expected, using quality ingredients, with delicious results. We enjoyed everything, so we were glad that we hadn't been dissuaded by the negative reviews. For us this place was a great find and provided a relaxed setting for the lovely lunch we had been looking for. Hopefully other diners will look beyond unfavourable reviews and give Ukai a go. For food this good it certainly deserves to busier than it was on a Saturday afternoon with lots of potential customers passing through the market outside.

After hearing mixed reviews about this place i decided to try this afternoon tea. They have Halal and Gluten free options. Overall ambiance and decor of the place is nice and floral. Staff was attentive and kindly offered free a hot chocolate to the child. However it took then 35 mins to bring the food on the table despite the whole place being quite empty. We had one Gluten free and one regular afternoon tea. Afternoon tea itself was very presentable offering variety of teas and we tried three different teas, the nicest one was Masala Chai. Sandwiches were ok in taste albeit rather bland. Scones were fresh, tasty and light. Unfortunately the desserts were very average in taste and were very basic. They do not do refills which is unusual for an afternoon tea. There is definitively room for improvement.
