We had trouble finding them, we walked in expecting a display of Chelsea buns, as they seem so proud of them. We walked round & round the store, checked the cake cabinet twice, before eventually asking at the counter. The girl nodded to a small cake stand to the side of her with about 5 miserable looking buns in. We ordered two with tea & sat outside. They were delicious, could not fault the flavour, but they were dry soild, for every mouthful you needed a sip of tea…!! Quite disappointing, for their claim to fame.

Great place to find all kind of excellent food of great quality. I consider that their food display is one of the best, if not the best in this part of London. It reminds me Baker and Spices at their best in the past. I found excellent salmon hearts at reasonable prices, Lamb Moussaka, Lasagna, all kind of cheeses and very nice breads. They also have great wines.

Stopped here for a quick bite on my way to the bus stop. I thought I would spend 10 pounds at the most since I only ordered a small portón os steamed vegetables and Greek salad. I was wrong. The bill came up to 15 £. If I had known it was that expensive, I would have picked a nicer place with table service and silverware instead of eating at a park bench. The food itself had no flavor. The Greek salad needed salt and the feta cheese tasted extremely bland. No salt packages or sauces available for costumers. Walk further than the road and eat at pret or Mc. Donald’s. You’ll be better off. As far as the food store is concerned; there are a lot of British products as well as conventional staples. There is an organic food section and a small vegetable section. All the food here has a price mark up which is understandable. Cute store to come in and take a pic.

I am a regular customer that's been coming to this place for quiet some time, I had to wait for 10 minutes to get my order, the staff was working very fast and its not their fault, the management needs to put more staff in the bakery section or other section when its busy, I am going to report this to the head office as well as I feel like the management is putting less staff to do more work which is illegal. This is very bad for partridges customer, as the customer should not wait that long, the management is very bad. I will never use Partridges again!! thanks to the TERRIBLE MANAEMENT TEAM, THE HEAD MANAGER SHOULD BE FIRED FOR PUTTING LESS STAFF AT WORK. The most disgusting and life risky experience!!! This place is seriously dangerous. I bought a quickie with salmon and eggs. Once this was warmed up I went outside to eat and I realised it was full of mould! Considering the risk in eating this and get sick I was lucky I realised in time. The waitress just warmed up too much and she did not even realise it. When I showed up the manager was not there and they took it and when I chooses another meal they wanted even charge me for it. Shocking.

We enjoyed a some very pleasant starters and main courses. Unfortuately the service (which had been slow up to that point) then stopped - nobody came to clear the dishes - or to offer us desserts and coffee (which we would have purchased) so we had to leave for our scheduled "slot" at the Saatchi GalleryWe mentioned the poor service when we paid the bill and received both the appropriate apology AND and offer that we return for coffee and a cake after we had been to the Gallery. the offer was much appreciated and we did take Paartridges up on the offer.........however it is such a shame that we had to complain since the food offerings etc don't deserve to be let down by "service" issues

Utterly awful. Waited 25 mins for a simple coffee at a dirty table covered in other’s dishes and leftovers. Was about to walk out when it did eventually arrive after chasing, again. Staff chaotic, blamed being short staffed but behind the counter all orders were muddled. They basically hadn’t got a clue. Coffee distinctly average and food others were eating didn’t look that special. Shop and cake counter looked okay, toilets unpleasant.

Partridges has been around foe ages it was for many years in Sloane St now it is on the edge of the Duke of York Square.in the fine weather you can eat outside and watch the world go by. In Winter there are tables at the back of the food emporium and you can get your appetite as you walk through. This is an ideal place for light lunch or coffee and pastries .It was a chilly day we had the vegetable soup which was memorable. This is what vegetable soup should be and so often isn’t. It was a satisfying meal on its own but we followed with two of the salads .the beef salad and the mozzarella both of them were of a quality to be recommended. This place is full of surprises even cannabis tea was on offer as well as the usual teas and coffee. If you want a sweet then you must go and chose it from the sweet counter by the entrance to the restaurant. As for people watching a fascinating mix of Chelsea life, the food is jolly good too

After having taken in the TUTANKHAMUN: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh at the Saatchi Gallery we fancied a cup of tea with treats, so Partridges was the perfect pit stop. We used to regularly stock up at Partridges and as such its unique credentials as grocers to H.M. The Queen are not lost on me. It was wonderful to drop in for a tea and share it with friends. Partridges is the ultimate sumptuous purveyor yet always maintains its feel of familiarity and warmth. They’re also known for their selection of American products aside of being the supplier of quintessential English fare. The company slogan was, and still is, ‘good things for the larder’.

Came here for breakfast which wasn’t bad. Great to sit and people-watch during the Saturday markets. The peppermint tea was good. When I asked the skinny Indian waiter with spectacles for the brand name, he said he didn’t know and told me to just go inside and I would find it because according to him, they sell everything they serve. My husband asked for the bill, he brought it over and it was paid by card. This same waiter then just stood there looking at the bill folder to pressure my husband to leave a tip!!! Terrible behaviour!!! My husband then put over £2 and when we stood up to go inside to buy our groceries, I again tried to ask what brand I should be looking for inside. The waiter just couldn’t be bothered to check and then my husband tried to ask him how we would find out which brand it is. The waiter merely shrugged and couldn’t be bothered. Then his colleague, another waitress came out and said loudly and protectively to us, “What’s wrong?!” - as if we had been abusing the waiter!! It was bizarre! Then when we explained and asked her for the brand name of the tea, guess what she said?! They don’t even sell that brand inside Partridges but to order it online! At this stage, it was obvious why she was protective of the waiter - he had obviously been lackadaisical or stupid like this with other customers before! How ridiculous! Not a terrible experience, just a stupid one!!!

Popped into Partridges that always looks so lovely, within minutes of entering the door a staff member (he appeared to be a floor manager) began hovering just behind us. I ignored it at first and continued our peruse around but started to get put off that at every turn he would be lurking behind us. It was so obvious. It appears its fine to work for Partridges if you're black but don't presume your free to shop there! I would like to assure that floor manager that if I wanted to purchase something from Partridges I can well afford to do so and while he was stalking me around the store some old paler lady was probably filling up her handbag (check the statistics!)...

I was off to the private view of Collect (the international arts fair for contemporary objects organised by the Crafts Council) held at the Saatchi Gallery. Having popped into one or two places in town beforehand - the Goldsmiths' Centre and the Silver Vault in Chancery Lane, I was peckish, but only wanted something light. There were plenty of places in the Kings Road, but with meals as opposed to snacks on offer. I suddenly thought about Partridges. The food hall is excellent and I felt sure it had an indoor eatery. I was right. OK, it is a bit 'tight' and in a style that could be described at upmarket utilitarian, but it was clean and fitted my purposes. I opted for a Croque Monsieur which was authentically done and beautifully presented. Then I opted for a cake from the patisserie as the display looked so good. It was delicious, though I felt guilty. I ended with a small Americano. The service was friendly and at just over £15 did not break the bank and was just what I wanted (possibly the delicious patisserie to one side).

Very good range of deli products available. Bought the tiramisu which looked very artisan - So as a big tiramisu fan I had quite high expectations. The cream however was just too thick with a very high fat content and not fluffy as you'd expect from a good tiramisu (I make them way better at home) and I even got a bit nausea from the greasiness! - I wonder if they use plain mascarpone/whipping cream or as per traditional recipe - raw eggs? It definitely didnt taste like it had raw eggs in it (which makes it light and fluffy). They should definitely improve their Tiramisu recipe. The Waitrose one (from their bakery) is an example they could follow!

Stopped by for a drink with a friend after visiting the Saatchi Art Gallery opposite, sitting outside in the afternoon sunshine. A very pleasant location and the waiter was very courteous and friendly. I don't know what the food is like but the other visitors meals looked very nice!

If you are not in a hurry, and want to sit outside for lunch then this little cafe is a good choice. The food is very good, the service is slow, and getting your bill can be a challenge (i had to get up and ask the waiter) but it's good if you're out shopping and want to take a break.

Firstly let me say this place looks very, very swish and on the back of that pricey so I was surprised to sit outside and watch people visiting the Saatchi Gallery for under £3 for a cup of coffee. It was hot and served promptly. We paid up and went in to explore. The food looked lovely and was very reasonably priced. If I hadn't been spending all day walking around London I would definitely have bought some. I could not resist some dill sauce now unavailable near me. I queued up with two people in front of me and immediately another till was open so I didn't have to wait.

Came here at 12 and the breakfast menu was still running. Had eggs Benedict and poached eggs on toast. Food and presentation was lovely as was environment. I went into the food market and got parma ham to put on top of my eggs which was lovely and had an almond croissant which i highly recommend but ask for it heated. Price was very good value for the food received. Lovely relaxing lunch

Myself (19) and my mum (49) went for a late lunch here after shopping and strolling around London on a day out. We had looked at the other close by restaurants however, decided upon this as it has a gorgeous outdoors section which was lovely in the sunshine, it overlooked a lovely green and was far away from the road so very nice setting! The food was lovely and drinks were very welcome too! We asked for elderflower gin and lemonade however they could only offer us gin and tonic as it was premise from a can which was a shame. In addition, the staff were foreign and couldn't explain this to us properly so we spoke to a manager and they did which we were fine with. The staff also were slow at sitting us down on a table so we sat down to bagsie it because we didn't want to loose the table if they were too slow in cleaning it - so I recommend you just sit down when it's free!! The staff also were quite loud and chatty near our table but were helpful and served us quickly once seated. The food was delicious!! I had salmon fish cake (only 1 but was big). I really enjoyed the food and it was a lovely place to stop due to the location! Great lunch overall and food was fab! Staff could have been better!

Decidedly mixed feelings about this eatery, which is attached to a large delicatessen shop opposite the Saatchi Gallery. The Partridges salad with smoked salmon and shrimps was very good. On the other hand, the wine was slightly overpriced (£6.99 for a large glass of very average Chardonnay), and the dessert (pistachio roll) was distinctly stale. Last impressions are, unfortunately, lasting impressions...The service was efficient and friendly, and avoided being obsequious (but only just).

The name invokes the vivid flashes of nostalgia of the old world charm of the homely grocer near the home . Even today this name iOS symbolic of the same - with the classy food delicacies / ready to eat or carry home . Some of the best food products are available here . Prices are high here but the convenience of buying is supreme from this well known grocery store . The lunch hour is busy . A joy to walk in here .

The staff here are passively rude. Don't expect to be greeted, don't expect a response to your "thank you" and the only contact you'll have is "do you want a bag". All this and you'll be paying more than 50% more because of the location. Great place to visit if you plan to create a business and need an example of how not to treat customers.

Partridges is a superlative grocery shop, and maybe it should stick to what it does best. Instead, it also serves food all day in a little back room and on a rather chilly outside terrace. There is plenty of wait staff, but frankly the service is erratic to the point of being chaotic. How can it take thirty minutes to produce just two coffees? And a further half hour to present the bill? Or 45 minutes to bring a cooked breakfast? Sadly, this is not a one-off, but a regular occurrence; we often meet up with friends here, and the disappointing, not to say neglectful, service does tend to spoil things. Great for people watching; nicely cooked food once it arrives, and pleasant staff, but my goodness, there's no hope of ever slipping in for a quick cuppa and a snack here.

Had lunch here this weekend, on a beautiful warm and sunny day. Outside area was fully booked so we ate in the cafe at the back of the food store. Not the most idyllic place, especially as there was a constant long queue for the one toilet, close to our table. However, this was a special lunch meeting with old friends. We each just had a main course, they were all very good, especially the Eggs Royale, Caesar Salad, and the salmon fishcake. Service very pleasant. But they do need to sort out the lavatory situation.

Stef was a superhero to our 9 year old who hit his head gawping at the London skyline. Stef grabbed a huge bag of ice and helped our little boy in his hour of need. Frappacinos and coffee great here too.

Im assuming this is the stour cafe 258 Kingsland Road, and if not then thats what I'm talking about! Amazing coffee and the best bacon sarnie Ive ever eaten. Had in back in early December. Sour dough bread, butter, amazing meat and brown sauce - it was just brilliant. The bread was ace too. Great chef!

Sargeant's Mess is a British restaurant just in front of the Tower of London and adjacent to Tower Bridge. Created by celebrity chef Mark Sargeant, the restaurant serves unmemorable food in a fairly bland atmosphere buttressed by one of the most spectacular locations in London. The food concept behind Mess is to offer traditional British fare at a high quality. Frankly, it is just average. The food is the weakpoint of the restaurant. The concept just seems to have fallen away with for instance the only vegetarian dish in the main course even using the American name Mac N Cheese. It is ok but it is just macaroni cheese so there's a clear ceiling to how good it can be. A large part of the menu is burgers. Not exactly traditional British fare. The vegetarian burger was not bad because it had an avocado in it. Otherwise not the kind of a quality a specialist upmarket provider might generate. Dessert options are fairly limited though the Eton Mess is ok. Service was not that great unfortunately. The faux accent was jarring in its articulation. Chips as an accompaniment to a burger were served without question as to whether a condiment could be offered then an over the top response was generated to a question asking whether such a thing could be provided. Price is high considering the fare. The location does demand a price like that but the food does not. Sargeant just has failed to generate interesting eating. One real shame for a December lunch was that it turned out the Christmas menu was not on offer. It was a real disappointment and made the whole place feel like a let-down. The plus is absolutely the magnificent location. Nestling in the shadow of the Tower and next to Tower Bridge the views are incredible. Looking out at the Thames is beautiful here although the number of window seats is quite small. However, going outside while waiting for food for instance offers a terrific perspective on some of London's finest buildings. Admittedly it is perfectly possible just to walk along the Thames and get the same view. Sargeant's Mess is ultimately a disappointment. The food is flavourless and too simple. Nothing interesting about it at all. No creativity or flair. The price reflects the location and so is too much for the quality of the eating. Service is not great and it was such a shame to find the menus advertised on the website did not exist in reality. The plus is the magnificent location, one of the very best anywhere in London.
