We took our 10 yr old son to the Duck Club for lunch yesterday but he has severe food allergies (nuts, sesame, mustard, eggs to name a few) so we are always nervous when we take him anywhere new. The serving staff were excellent, taking their time to explain the menu, they also spoke to the chef about my son’s allergies and came back and confirmed the conversation. My son was desperate for the hoisin duck bun so the kitchen took the time to make him an allergen friendly version, he wolfed it down but more importantly not a tingle of reaction. We have been for lunch before and always enjoyed the experience. The food is always sublime, the cocktails are excellent and the staff are always friendly. However they took it to another level yesterday, to know they took my kid’s allergies so seriously helped us to relax and enjoy an amazing family lunch. I thanked the chef before I left and he kindly said they’ll note down what they prepared for my son so next time we go we’ve just to ask for the same again. Thanks to the whole team, you now have very loyal customers! 👍

A lovely restaurant in Glasgow's West End. The menu is delightful and varied. I had the bread with cheese spread and honey to start. Followed by the venison burger and parmesan chips. It was superb. One of the best burgers I've had in a long time.

Had a lovely brunch, staff all extremely friendly and attentive, food and drinks good. Quibbles: Eggs Benedict is on sourdough not muffins. It’s lovely sourdough, my eggs with salmon were advertised as such but boyfriend was a little disappointed. You do need the steak knives they give you to cut the bread! Over £4 (I forget exactly how much but sure it was £4.75) for a very small glass of orange juice doesn’t tally up with the the rest of the menu. Good things: staff, half portion options. Food is really, really tasty. Go!

I thought duck was their speciality but every plate we ordered turned out to be perfect. Every plate stays true to its ingredients. I recommend all the plates we tried: tagliatelle (although I think the pasta can be softer), beef bourguignon, duck leg, fries with honey mustard mayo, and the side salad. The ambiance is excellent for a dinner setting, offering just the right amount of privacy.

There were 6 of us on a Sunday night for an early dinner. All meals were lovely except for my son's smashed venison burger. When it arrived at the table, it was on a small plate on its own with absolutely nothing else. No slaw, no fries, nothing. He was very disappointed. Food did not come with any veg, potatoes, or fries. Sweets were good except the burt cheesecake was not really burt, and the deep fried ice cream was not deep fried. Food should be as described on the menu or some explanation given as to why it is not.

We were keen to try as we heard such great things however we left severely disappointed. My husband and I ordered the corrie farm eggs on sourdough ( me poached and him scrambled). We were asked if we would like to double up the eggs. I presumed that this meant doubling up the quantity of eggs however upon receiving the breakfast we discovered that it meant one or two eggs. We were dissatisfied with the quantity given that double eggs on sourdough was £14,95 per person. We should maybe come back and order something else but it was a bit steep to charge this for 2 eggs on sourdough we thought. Service was quick although plates were moved whilst I was finishing my last bite which was slightly annoying. Lovely setting and people were nice that served us. Thanks

Delighted to be given a vegan menu that didn’t include a plant burger, thank you. Chose Cauliflower & pea dish with coconut milk. It was very sweet (Eeek), luckily I had ordered the salted chips which balanced the taste. I regretted not just opting for the vegan breakfast eg, avocado on sourbread. Great chefs clearly, please don’t be so fancy, vegans just want nutritious tasty filling food like everyone else and there are so many ways to do this. Luckily, we managed to get a table outside before our food arrived. The food I'm afraid of was very average and small portions. To be honest, it is not reflected in the price. Our bill was £49. Breakfast and avocado on toast. One small slice of sourdough. One egg. My partners breakfast was worse. Half slice toast. One egg. One tomato. Small link and a slice bacon. No extra bread . Tea is extra. I'm very disappointed. Taste was fine. Just over priced for what we received. A

Very disappointing first visit. Had been meaning to visit for a while and finally decided to stop in. As a coeliac your options are incredibly limited, with the only dishes that can be made gluten free are those that can easily swap out normal bread for gluten free bread (and chips). Of which there is a £1.25 fee. The only milk alternative they have on site is oat milk as well. I ordered the duck leg & nduja hash, fried egg with sour cream (£14.95). This also came with a piece of toast. There was very little duck meat in the dish and it was shredded which wasn't mentioned on the menu. Another thing that wasn't mentioned was the sheer amount of cabbage that was mixed into this dish. The toast (£1.25 extra) was ice cold, the portion was small for the price and the dish itself was very oily. For the price I would be expecting more, especially considering the full breakfast is almost the same price (20p in the difference). My partner ordered a cappuccino (£3.70) that came in what seemed to be a flat white cup. Incredibly small size for a cappuccino especially considering the price. He also ordered the breakfast bun (£9.50) with the black pudding being the only component that wasn't cold upon arrival. The layout of the menu was also quite poor and due to design choices it was difficult to read in some places. Also the online menus prices are not correct and are slightly increased in the restaurant. Overall we were disappointed as we had high expectations going in. Despite the decor and atmosphere being impeccable the aforementioned issues let down the establishment for us.

I had the white bean hummus, halloumi bun which could have been hotter and fries and a cocktail Clementine mule, beer , espresso and sticky toffee souffle. All the food was tasty. I would have liked a bigger plate for the buns to put the fries at the side. Sauces were 50p extra bill total £109. The souffle was the outstanding course for me. Food. We ordered 4 breakfasts as we were soo hungry but in all honesty for £15 ish per person, it didn’t cut it. one sausage, a skinny one done in a deep fat fryer, one bit of black pudding, one egg, half a tomato, a very oily hash brown, half a tomato and a small bit of sourdough….Now I expect decent quality and the provenance of food is important but its flowery prose on the menu. It was tasty. It was a mean portion though. Drinks. When did a tiny cup of coffee deserve nearly £4 and don’t get me started about the caramel latte at almost £5. C’mon guys. Really? But … mimosa! £7.95 for a small goblet of mostly orange juice with about 2 mouthfuls of ‘secco? I’ve spilt more doon ma shirt! Dessert. Just the one…we were too scared of the bill tbh but the fried cinnamon bun with ice cream was a total 4 spooner! Outstanding and deserves more of a 👊 fist bump. Service. Very nice staff BUT table check for empty plates discreetly cos I felt on the numerous occasions that the girl checked, we had to stop mid chat to smile, nod etc. She was LOVELY so it’s a training issue, not a criticism. Value for money. Definitely style over substance imo. It’s so busy and good for them cos that’s an industry I’ve worked in a long, long time however that maybe skews my opinion somewhat cos I know the cost of putting it on a plate. It also gives me a balanced view which will not affect any West End Wendy’s with disposable income and I don’t grudge the owners a cent. You do you! Return visit? Probably not. It’s expensive. Our bill was £113. For four. For brunch. One mimosa. 4 very small coffees. 4 very small breakfasts and a dessert. Oh, 2 portions of chips and mayo which I never ate as they were soggy. It’s difficult when someone else is paying the bill, to make a complaint but mines is about quantity, not quality.

3.5 stars 🌟 Service was excellent and the atmosphere is great, the venue is lovely. I was disappointed with my pineapple mojito, no crushed ice used and it turned up in a regular highball glass - it just felt like a double spirit mixer. When you order a mojito you expect muddled mint, lime, and crushed ice, and at £9.95, it was a let down. Perhaps our other choices didn't get the best out the menu, califlower was lovely as were the chips but nduja hash a little too much soy sauce for me and my partner felt a bit underwhelmed with the burger. Fingers crossed for next time.

The Barbary duck leg with cauliflower cream and red wine sauce was heavenly, with the succulent duck meat falling from the bone. I had a real hard time deciding which duck fat fries to have, before eventually plumping for the black bomber cheese and barbecue sauce topping; a decision I did not live to regret! The deep fried cinnamon bun with ice cream was delicious too! My only gripe with Duck Club is that the portions could be a little bigger for the money you’re paying, but this isn’t a big deal considering the excellent quality of the food. £24 for a bottle of Sangiovese is reasonable too!

The food was amazing, starters were the best we have ever had, the Asian cauliflower and meatballs were the best. My wife's duck Club bun & my chicken schnitzel were very delicious. Staff were excellent and very attentive.

One of my favourite brunch spots in Glasgow. Disappointed in the change of recipe to the braised beef shin and duck egg Benedict though. The new meat is less appealing and the lack of poached egg puts me off all together. This is just preference though as I've never ever had a bad meal here.

Brilliant night at PDC. Food was unreal, and special thanks to Euan. Up there with best service I’ve ever had. Guy just gets it. Promote him immediately

Just returned from another visit to PDC this afternoon 30th March 2024 and although I love their food, the portions and pricing are going in opposite directions. Example as per the photograph, this was crab chow mein (possibly mean) that we ordered and at £10.95 I was expecting to see some crab, dreadful portion and expensive. Other items ordered included Bomber cheese souffle (very good), Asian cauliflower (always good), white bean hummus (tasty but portion size small), frickles with garlic mayo which were fried gherkins but would not order again and finally truffle fries which have always been good but disappointing today. Portion sizes are definitely getting smaller. As I said previously, food is generally very good, service great and welcoming but value for money???? I did not complain at the time as I was using a voucher and did not want any money to be taken off the bill which may have confused matters with voucher carryover. Mind you no one asked if we enjoyed. I will go back as I like to support local independent business' but with the cost of living crisis and prices going one way, they need to be very careful and offer true value for money.

The food is not worth the money...menu's description is misleading ...actual food can vary a lot ...would recommend things only from the lunch and dinner menu ....ambience and service wise decent ...but food wasn't as pleasing ..good chips selection

Gorgeous food and excellent service. Would highly recommend. Lovely selection of food and really good children's menu too. Desserts were amazing! Our group of four shared two desserts - soufflé and cinamon roll. To die for!

Cool vibes, coctail bar like brunch spot. Good tunes at a healthy volume even in the morning. Excellent coffee and Bloody Mary, food was nommy too, liked the smaller portion for me! One caveat, the eggs Benedict was NOT on a muffin but on sourdough- however it was beautiful!!

Riverhill has incredible coffee and food. The staff are friendly, and the fact that it is always busy tells its own story. This is, for me, the best coffee in the centre of Glasgow and close to Central Station. The only problem is, they don't open until 8am and I now have to be in Central just before then, but you can't have everything.

What a bummer. Having done tons of research trying to find some vegan options for my trip, we’d been looking forward to breakfast at Glasvegan for months. I double checked the hours and both Facebook and Google stated they opened at 9am, Google even said the hours were confirmed by phone a few weeks prior. When we showed up, the place was closed & dark - no sign on the door, no post on their social media (and no website). Another traveller showed up around the same time and was also disappointed to see the dark restaurant. After looking into some news articles, it sounds like their inconsistent opening times was a blessing in disguise. Head chef up and quit, employee complains against owners, treatment and working conditions, and steadily declining food reviews. Good riddance I guess. They haven’t even responded to my inquires on their social media sites.

Reallly excellent sauerkraut workshop, with lots of useful information. Janice shared her expertise about making ferments with the group and I learned a lot. I'm looking forward to trying the sauerkraut when it's ready in a few weeks time.
