We came here after our fish and chips which were amazing. I always make sure to leave room. They have a great selection of flavours and the staff are really friendly. The ice cream is really good and you get decent portions. My favourite is the Cherry and Turkish delight they go very well together and are tricky to find elsewhere. I love that they now do doggie ice cream, our boy really enjoyed it!

Best ice cream around! Yes the choices are slightly limited compared to another place along the road but the quality is so much better. Staff there are always chatty and smiling (especially Joe). We will never go anywhere else on Wirral for ice cream

Excellent choice of ice creams in all sizes and varieties of cornet or tubs. Chocolate flakes available too. Very friendly service from the shop, and there's a nice spot to sit down opposite the ice cream shop too.

Ice cream is lovely but is it part of the job description that all your staff are always moody? Live up the road and literally your staff are always rude to me every time we visit . I have noticed they are rude with others as well .

Feels a bit odd when pretty much everyone else gives them a 5 to be giving just a 3 but I found my toffee ice cream to be very fake tasting with no ribbons of caramel and no pieces of toffee, I was really looking forward to a yummy treat after being on the keto diet but was very disappointed. Had some chocolate as well and that wasn't great. Very nice lady serving though!

Great ice cream. Miserable, lazy staff. With customers queuing in the street because of covid all the staff dawdled whilst serving the customers on the inside. It took 20 minutes for one of the girls to make 2 cups of coffeefor me with a young man standing by her chatting the whole time. A second young lady joined in the chat for about 10 minutes whilst the queue grew bigger. They need a wake up call. No please -no thank you - no manners

On a beautiful day in April with blue skys and a fabulous view over the River Dee we fancied an ice cream. Called in to Park Gate Ice Cream and ordered a chocolate for my wife and my all time favourite rum and raisin for me. The chap serving was really friendly especially when talking about the amazing Citroen Dolly parked outside.Incredible ice cream, just what a big kid needs on a sunny day.

This was our first day of freedom.... we decided to head to Parkgate ...We had the cherry ice cream it was amazing,we chatted with the lovely mum about her CV2 car,her daughter was serving the ice cream through a hatch....Great idea in these covid times....thanks again we hope to return soon and try another ice cream from your great choice...Julia and ivor

Much prefer the Parkgate homemade ice cream shop to its more famous competitor next door. If you've not been here before you need to try it.

I always make sure I pay a visit to Parkgate Ice Cream Shop if I’m ever in the area as it is such a treat.I usually go for a wild black cherry but recently tried the Parma Violet one which was tasty! Definitely call in if you get the chance, staff are lovely & can’t beat the views.

I like ice cream. But especially with bits in it. So I had a toffee scoop and a 'wild black cherry' scoop. They were more like flavoured ice creams rather than having genuine ingredients. I saw no fruit at all, nor anything in the toffee for that matter. In a nutshell, it was bland in texture and taste.So it's an average score from me.

Going into Parkgate Ice Cream is like stepping back in time to your own childhood! Incredible choice of different flavoured ice cream and really friendly service. Ordered my All time favourite run and rasin, can't beat it. Walked along the front like a kid Ice cream and daft smile across my face, disowned by my wife!A great treat.

Really pleased to find a traditional family firm using the best ingredients to make Real Dairy Ice-Cream especially as so many places just make ice cream from non dairy products. It was a joy to watch the ice creams being made in the shop where I could see the quality of ingredients. The family are a credit to Parkgate too with several generations working in the shop. Prices are great too. I could not recommend more highly. Give it a try!

After having a massive carvery at the old Quay my partner and daughter decided to have a ice cream from the ice cream shop. Rum and raisin absolutely amazing mint ice cream slightly better would certainly visit again five stars

Took kids for ice cream in parkgate wirral today , been many times but still love there ice cream , kids made a mess as usual but all adds to the fun , cherry ice cream won the day gorgeous , you have to give it a try no matter what the weather

Visited for icecream for the family, it was that nice asked if they could to take home tub, the girl said they dont, yous are missing out big time not doing this as everyone else was getting take home tubs from icecream shop next door....

We love going to Parkgate and always stop there for ice cream. Nicholls next door is more popular, but can say with 100% honesty I believe the ice cream at Parkgate Ice Cream is better not just in overall quality but also in terms of choices of flavours and also its prices. Yes, Nicholls has more flavours, but the flavours here are more varied, different and interesting. The staff are lovely to. Definitely give here a try.

A range of enticing flavours of home made ice cream,and my Turkish delight with palms violet was wonderful...so must go back ( several times) to try out the others. This friendly family run ice cream shop is a must when visiting Parkgate.

One of the best ice creams I have had, compares equally, or possibly a bit better than the shop in Harlech that previously I felt was the best. Well worth a visit, the mandarin flavour was delicious.

Always buy litre tubs to enjoy at home. Particularly enjoy Palma Violet and Honeycomb. Would recommend a visit.

We were staying at Heswall Premier Inn and Parkgate is just a 10 minute drive away. We had ice cream - Black Cherry and Hazel Nut - both were delicious and worth the short drive. Parking was bit dodgy as sea front was packed.

Not the greatest but when your competition is almost non existant, well, you are the prettiest in the room. The ice cream flavors I chose tasted like the flavoring they used was diluted. I have had better from the freezers at supermarkets.

We visited here twice last month purely because the first time was such a pleasure. A quaint little ice cream shop with extremely helpful friendly staff, reasonably priced set in a lovely location on Parkgate front. Our children have been asking when we can go back so we will definitely be returning, well worth a visit! Keep up the good work!

Amazing flavours all handmade. The parmaviolet and Turkish delight were simply Devine. I only wish this was on our doorstep. There was a long queue at the niccols next door and am glad we decided not to go there as we would have missed out on the delights. The 2 ladies that served us clearly have a passion for what they do. Keep up the good work

On a lovely Sunday when the sun was out walking along the parade, the ice cream here was the perfect compliment. There was abundance in flavours; I went for the Turkish delight! There are also sweets and chocolates for those with a sweet tooth. Many like us came from afar for tjese famous ice creams.

Plenty of choices and reasonably priced. On a sunny day you can't beat a two flavour ice cream tub with a flake and then sit on the seats across the road and enjoy your ice cream.

Not such a large variety of flavours as the place a few doors up but extremely delicious nonetheless. Chocolate dipped cone was great.

Always very popular. There is a large variety to choose from. There are a few tables to slowly sip your tea or coffee or lick your way through an ice crceam.

This is the smaller ice-cream shop. The ice-cream is delicious and has all flavours you could ask. I think the only downside is they only take cash. Can't think of any other reason you wouldn't go there! The larger shop next door is usually busier but I've always preferred this one. Friendly staff, very clean and gorgeous ice-cream

This little shop seems to get ignored sometimes in preference to it's larger neighbour. I don't know why as the ice cream here is fantastic plus it usually does not have the queues! Very clean place and very friendly staff too.

Don't know why the Post Office is so popular and long queues, just as good next door. All the flavours, staff try not to look too bored.

Walked into this lovely clean well decorated establishment. To be greeted by two lovely ladies. One to be the daughter and one to be the owner. They welcomed me with a warm smile and good conversation. Then to be offered a few tasters as I couldn't decide what ice cream to have. I chose the Parma violets on a single choc waffle cone. I will definitely be returning such lovely staff and such wonderful ice cream!!!

Parkgate reminds me of the movie and its my fantasy relived every time I visit. The ice cream shop is a must see and do. They have my favorite flavor of Rum Raisin and it tastes exactly as it did when I was a youngster.

We found ourselves at Parkgate on the way home from lunch. The sign says home made ice cream. Big queue next door so we thought we'd try here for a change I went for a regular cornet of mint chocolate chip and my wife had a tub of toffee flavour. So rich, it was a hot day but it melted slowly, a sign of lovely ice cream. Recommended.

I always come to this ice cream shop if i am in Parkgate. The variety of flavours are great. I usually get the Wild Black Cherry which is so tasty i just love it! The staff in here are brilliant also. In comparison to next door where its so busy, its alot more personable in this shop and have time to choose what you would like. The seats outside are great on a sunny day also!

Popped to Parkgate to get an ice cream as my friend recommended the shop. Hubby went for Black Cherry I had Tofffee . Lovely Creamy ice cream and fresh cone £3.80 for both which I thought was reasonable as big scoops. The Cherry was spot on delicious , toffee could do with some cinder toffee in or in it :) . The shop was clean but a little sparse could do with brightening up. Staff very nice and friendly . Will try again with the kids in tow :)

Ok I confess I am a lifelong ice cream addict and Parkgate is the perfect place to get a fixIn my world it's either good ice cream or no ice cream and the ice cream hear is greatMy favorite has always been coffee flavour, not always easy to find but here it was and really good it was tooMy only criticism is that it was slightly too sweet

Big queue outside, which is a very good sign. We were not disappointed, the selection of flavours is very impressive. The Ice Cream itself is unbelievably nice. £3 for 2 scoops in a chocolate waffle cone, that took ages to eat. You can't come closer to the perfect end to a perfect day

Nothing like a stroll down the excellently upgraded Dee river mouth bank on a warm sunny day / evening with the love of your life, tantalisingly licking one of the historic (home made?) Parkgate Ice Cream cones! Sit on the historic Parkgate harbour wall with the afternoon sun kissing your face, and countless birds in the marshes, and a majestic view of the North Wales Hills on the other side as the sun sets. Got to be one of your bucket list items.

The ice cream here is awesome and they provide good competition to their neighbours if perhaps on a more modest scale. I am quite happy to dive on there though if Nicholsons is too busy or i prefer their flavours as I know that I won't be disappointed! This place contributes towards Parkgate being an ice cream mecca

No visit to Parkgate is complete without a visit to the Parkgate Ice Cream shop! Lots of choice.I can't resist the coffee personally. But there's Turkish Delight, Salted Caramel, and The usual faves like Strawberry, Vanilla, & way more besides...lovely ice cream!! It's a traditional spot. And, luckily for us, we chose a sunny day. Beautiful views of Wales. Great for October.

On checking out of our hotel we decided to have a stroll along the front at Parkgate and managed to park quite easily - well it wasn't summer! We decided to have an ice cream and were impressed by all the different flavours and vowed to come back soon with the grandchildren!

Parkgate is blessed with two very, very good ice cream parlours. "Park Gate Ice Cream" stands out not just for the quality of its ice cream but also for the friendliness of the owners. We have no reservations in recommending a trip to Parkgate just for the ice cream!
