Parc Market in Central Bedfordshire

Firstly, I'm unsure why people on here moan so much about a shop within centre parcs. Surely they must know it's going to be expensive, and it's still possibly the cheapest place there. If you can afford the rest of centre parcs, you can surely afford some stuff here. Alternatively, there is a massive Tesco down the road a bit in the village nearby. We bought most of our shopping externally to cook or consume for a self catering apartment, but stocked up on a few essentials here. It is expensive, and they don't do pad Thai paste, despite having Thai red and green curry paste, but I couldn't complain. We bought the odd cake, the odd bakery item, hot and cold, a handmade microwave meal of meatballs which were excellent, a couple of bags of crisps and some deli snacks items. Look for the sale stickers on Mondays and Fridays if you're tight like me. Staff were always friendly and helpful, and we were able to get two bags delivered to our room as we realised we couldn't check in for a few hours and we'd bought more than expected. The alcohol section was being rebuilt at the time but normally the section has quite a range of beers, lagers and ales as well as wines and champagnes for all tastes.

It’s currently run by co op so all their food. Luckily it’s ready meal section has a selection of Cook meals as co-op arnt great that that section in my experience, I agree with others that if money is an issue probably better to bring food with you. Having said that, if money is that much of an issue probably avoid Centerparcs as it’s never been a cheap holiday, even 25 years ago it was an expensive week in the cheapest week of the year. I

This place is such a rip off . Read the previous reviews , everyone will tell you .. make sure you buy before you come here . A small bottle of ketchup or 2 chicken breast pack is just shy of £5 . Centre parcs know you need it so the price is cranked right up , in some cases 400% mark ups. You’ve been warned!

£4,70 for a litre box of tropicana! You expect higher prices on site but not this price. Marshmallows and choc dip as yummy as ever

I can’t say the visit really was terrible as this is a small, limited choice, shop but was is a nonsense are the prices here. There is no excuse for the high cost of water bottles, bread, butter, tins of food. It’s a shop not Harrods! It’s a captive audience using this place so the prices should be reasonable. I felt ripped off here that’s who I have one star.

Very impressed with lay out and stock especially bakery hot food counter,store had everything you needed but was a bit pricey compared to outside supermarkets..but other wise we were both very impressed and open till 9pm,if you needed something you had forgotten..

The Parc Market is a glorified coop which has everything you need but can be pricy. The shop is very well stocked and does have everything you have forgotten and more. Even for just the odd few supplies it is a helpful addition to Center Parcs.

Was really impressed with the range of items available and that they were reasonably priced too. Staff at the entrance and on the tills were always really friendly and helpful.

Was absolutely disgraced and humiliated by the actions of a cashier by the name of Rosalind. As she was serving us (myself and two children) she had a very disgusted face on and was scanning the items in a hurry. Throughout the sale, we were given dirty looks by her and could hear her muttering under her breath. As we walked out with our shopping she then laughed and chuckled and pointed in our direction with the customer behind. I have never felt so humiliated and disgusted in my life. Racism at its finest. Avoid if you don't want to be made fun of for being coloured.

We needed a few supplies. The supermarket was larger than expected and sold all the produce needed. From groceries to prepared meals. Alcohol and snacks. So you do not have to arrive fully stocked.

Stocked all that was needed. Even found the Sunday Times which we had not expected!! Based on the Coop we found all that we needed at prices that were pretty standard and hiked too much!

So expensive, frozen family meals £17.50. Hardly any choice. For a very small single piece of cake £3.60. In a restaurant yes but not in a supermarket.

Not a single ready meal that was wheat / gluten free. The free from section is sad and small. Count even get a ready made sandwich that was free from. Otherwise the choices there are ok, cover all your essentials.

Great choice on offer but quite expensive, suggest you time your visit just as they are reducing the hot food in price!

Good selection of food, fresh and frozen, some prices were ok others were quite expensive. Shelves were always stocked. Store clean and staff helpful.

On;y bought milk here, the rest was ridiculously pricey. Advise is to get your own supermarket shopping done before hand and only but items you absolutely need from the Parc Market like milk or bread.

This is a very poor supermarket charging top whack prices to its captive market. Buy before you arrive. Treat yourself in the Waitrose in Ampthill 6 minutes drive away - it will still be cheaper and you will have better quality!

A little on the expensive side for a big shop, but good for picking up any extras and some decent offers to be had.

we had taken almost everything we needed but had to buy disposable bbq. I was surprised at how well stocked this shop was and the prices were only a little higher so you could do your shop here rather than bring it with you and if you spend over £40 they will deliver

Okay not to bring anything with you. This supermarket is not overly priced, so just buy from here for your room if need be.

The range of products was very good but the prices are more expensive than most supermarkets. I'd advise bringing as much as you can and only buying products as necessary.

Like the title says- it has everything you need to make your Center Parcs holiday convenient nd enjoyable. BBQ’s and all the meats needed, baby food, gourmet frozen meals, cleaning product, fresh cakes and bread- it’s fantastic! Probably slightly more expensive than your local but not massively

Parc Market is the on site supermarket at Centre Parcs it is a good size and had pretty much everything you need during your stay. Quite a lot of the food is Co-op branded. It is more expensive than shopping off site (there is a Tesco and Waitrose within about a 10 minute drive). For our 2 year old Son the Parc Market was the highlight of his holiday as they have children sized shopping trolleys that the kids can push around.

Great little supermarket very well designed so there's more on offer than you'd think. Lots of yummy food and drinks choices and good service at the tills. Perfect for stocking up your lodge kitchen and fridge with both essentials and treats.

The food is very varied and fresh.helpful staff.ideal for all your needs whether self catering or in the hotel

I was amazed at how much variety of food was available, we brought food from home but we really didn't need to as it was all available here, we especially enjoyed the 'Cook It' range of products, only downside was having to carry it a long way back to the lodge.

I appreciate its a supermarket, but its a small shop with a great selection and prices arent as high as you might think with the captive audience. Everything we needed was here and some of the local sourced food were really good quality.

This is where you buy your duck/bird and squirrel food from :-) Don't feed Ducks bread, it's bad for them.

Based on our other experiences of 'in park' shops we were pleasantly surprised. A really good range of groceries, health care products and drinks. All at reasonable prices. Excellent shop

A good selection of food, wine only £2 dearer than local home supermarket , staff very polite and helpful

I had not spotted the Parc Market when we first went into the plaza because it is outside. Once found it is well stocked and had everything we needed. The bakery had a lovely supply of cakes, muffins and made up baguettes, which when we were there were reduced so excellent value.

We did an order for food before we arrived so we brought almost everything we needed with us to eat however for those things we forgot we used the Parc Market.

We visited this shop on a regular basis during our stay. We thought it was quite overpriced with a lot of items but is what is expected on a holiday resort. It’s perfect to grab a few items throughout your stay.

Good range of food in the supermarket, decent prices. Range of shops, coffee shop and facilities, take your bikes and park them outside.

Usual good range of ingredients, ready meals and bakery. Friendly checkout staff but if you forgot your bag they were 15p

Very clean establishment, nothing too much trouble, stocks everything you would need for your stay, prices not too pricey

Good quality range fairly priced. No Coke I guess Pepsi holds sway across the whole site but that certainly isn’t a reason not to shop there. It has freshly baked produce too.

We usually bring our own but had limited car space this time.

What a great and cheerful members of staff, I like the fact they say have a great day and enjoy your day at the end:-)) great food choices and excellent customer services

You can probably find everything you need at the parcmarket but prices are significantly higher than your local supermarket chain. They usually deliver to your villa but this time they were too busy and only delivered the following day ... disappointing !

I usually have no time for travellers who complain about on site supermarket prices- but now i have to join in. on the plus side there is a very good selection of food and drink. however- when a basic packet of biscuits is almost 4 times the price you do have to have a rethink. If you are staying a few days- bring your own food or get one of the supermarkets to deliver to you at the gate!

Because it has a captured market then of course you pay a premium .. luckily there is a Tesco near by :)

You can find most things in this store, but be prepared to pay over the odds for most things.staff were friendly

Reasonably priced though more expensive than the high stree supermarkets. However it is well stocked, the fresh bread from the bakery is delicious and the food is very fresh.

This little shops has most things you could want on holiday and always a few different things you don't see at home. Does fresh baguettes and sausage rolls, fruit and veg, great selection of breads etc.

The Parc Market was a fully stocked supermarket which should provide everything you need during your stay

Very convenient for the odd item but was pricey. I know I would have spent more if the prices were more reasonable.

Our food requirements were adequately cared for during our 5 day stay at the Parc and the prices were reasonable. They also stocked newspapers. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

It's fine if you want to pay approximately 30% more than general prices. We got a toffee box for £5 which was only half full when opened - Rip Off!

Quite a good choice of products in this supermarket on the Center Parcs site. We only use for items we have forgotten to bring as you pay a premium for the convenience, but there is a good choice of bakery items if you want to buy fresh pastries, sandwiches etc.

We were really surprised that this place had such a wide selections at good prices, in some areas it felt like a Wholefoods just without the Sushi. Newspapers to yogurt coated dried bananas. Great shop with some great value items.

A well stocked mini super market that carries a wide variety of staples. Pleasingly the prices (with a few exceptions ) did not appear to be over the top.

Make sure you buy everything before you get to center Parcs as shop is very expensive definitely not normal shop prices

As said a good enough selection although like most we bought from supermarkets before we went in as you do pay a lot for it in the park.

Very over priced for all but a few items but in a captive market it still proved useful for forgotten items and there was a good selection of products.

Everything you need can be got here with friendly service and they even deliver it for you which is a great help.

A great shop for the essentials. However, I'd suggest bringing most stuff with you as it can be quite expensive. Good for last-minute things you may have forgotten.

I expect that that some of the goods for sale in the Parc Market were a bit overpriced which is why I brought quite a lot of food with me. I went in,not for food but because I was looking for a treat to have after dinner. We bought two DVDs for a tenner and some fancy snacks and some paracetamol (I now realise I might be a bit old for swinging around in the trees). To be honest,I wasn't really paying much attention to the cost so I couldn't say if it was value for money but it was clean. The staff were very friendly, and I got what I wanted in there. I thought it was very good.

All of the staff we met in here were so lovely - really friendly and helpful. Thankyou. Some items are a little pricey, but we expect that at Centerparcs.

The 'parc-market' is well stocked with enough choice to satisfy the self-caterer but the hyper inflated prices are ridiculous.

Parc market is a well laid out, clean and well stocked on site source of provisions. However why does it have to be so expensive? I am sure this is one of the main reasons customers come to Center Parcs with pre-bought provisions for their stay. If Center Parcs were to re-consider their pricing policy to bring them closer to main street prices then they may find people more prepared to buy on site and perhaps not waste so many carbon miles shipping provisions from home!

Staff really friendly. Range of produce on offer good. You expect to pay more on complex if needing previsions. We were happy with what was on offer. Lovely to see local meat produce available to purchase at a reasonable cost & was very tasty once cooked

Convenient when needing provisions for your holiday break. Lots of fresh produce, cereals, breads etc.
