Lovely cafe in a Tudor-style building to have tea/ coffee with all-day dining, breakfast menu, lunch menu, tea, light bites , snacks, cakes and biscuits. Great for small groups, catching up with a friend or even to settle in a corner with some me-time. Spacious and clean gender-neutral restrooms. Polite and friendly crew despite a busy floor.

On a sunny day PAPA's Park is an oasis of friendly greenery just off Brixton High Street for the kids to play while the adults relax with a coffee and a homemade cake. Definitely less stressful than squeezing into the tiny places in central Brixton if you're trying to control a boisterous toddler. They do toasties for lunch and proper hot meals on Saturday lunches - the chilli con carne is great.

Papa's Park is a play area, well known to local families. Its café has never been advertised more widely and, as a result, has always been better value but less well-used than one would expect. It's only just off the beaten track, but the lack of footfall has resulted in a couple of changes of management in recent years. It's currently run by the cake stall champion of Stockwell Primary's PTA - and you couldn't ask for nicer homemade cake or a friendlier welcome. We try to go there every week! Visitors to Brixton would do well to make a beeline for it - especially after checking out the nearby Chocolate museum.

Nelia's cakes are delicious and feshly homemade. Special meals on saturdays are fantastic too: the best chilly con carne I have ever had and that for £6 only. The best place to spend time with children as the cafe is located on a charming playground at 5 min fron Brixton tube station.

Such a fab little cafe with, hands down, the best cakes in all of London! Well worth a minor detour from the hectic streets of Brixton to have a refuel (it's just down the road next to TK Maxx). Great value for the quality and they're all freshly handmade by the cafe owner the night before... A proper Brixton independent!

You'll struggle to find better home made cakes anywhere.... absolutely amazing, home baked by the owner and great coffee to go with it. Can't wait to return to London, just to visit again.

This is a great cafe just off Brixton High Street. It's next to Papa's Park which is also a great space for the kids to run around. They make amazing homemade cakes and local roasted coffee.

After a long day trekking around London with two young children we found this place right by our hotel. It had a lovely atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. Also, my daughter left her bag there with her phone in. Went back 1 hour later and the bag had been found and kept safe, life savers! would highly recommend

Friday 12th we went for the first time to upstairs, we came in and we’re welcomed with surprise (even though we had a reservation). Sat at a hightable facing the window, we asked for sparkling water but got still water. The waiters came to see us after 40MIN and many head turns on our part to take our order (food or drinks). We ordered all of our food and drinks in one go, our starters were actually delicious. This followed by a shared seabass. At that point my partner asked twice for a wine menu to have a glass of wine, nobody came to take our order. Our plates were not changed from the shared starters. We got a whole fish, no plate to put the bones. The server dropped fries when putting our fries on our table and said I’m sorry I’ll bring more. Ofcourse, they did not come back with new fries. Again the food was actually really good. Flakey fish lots of taste. At the end of our meal they did not even ask if we enjoyed our meal. I believe this is even standard practice at Nando’s, I assumed this would be the case at an affiliate Michelin restaurant. We had good food but it was ruined by the service. It was almost like the stuff intentionally ignored us.

Such a shame, the first time I went to this restaurant in september it was honestly the best meal I've had in london the food was amazing! Unfortunately after returning with the new menu I was left really disappointed. The food was pretty un interesting and portion sizes were so small I had to cook something when I got home, really not worth the visit or the hefty bill that comes with it maybe it was just an off night, who knows but I won't be returning after that.
