I had phoned to order a pizza and when I had phone the first time the very rude assistant hung up on me as I had stuttered while talking due to my disability. I then phoned back out of anger and had asked him why he had hung up the phone if me and he said “come down to the shop” this is hard for me being a wheelchair user and can’t get to places very quick. I am appalled I was treated this was and when he hung up on me for the second time I felt discriminated. I will not be ordering from this place again!

Staff in this store are always friendly! I usually do collection as Papa Johns generally doesn’t provide stores with enough drivers/staff. With that being said on collection orders food is brilliant and hot.

Placed ham on my pizza event though it’s requested to be removed. Called to let them know and they have done nothing to rectify this. Said he would call back, I’m still waiting…

I had a terrible experience with Papa Johns on Croydon - Brighton Road on 1st July 2024. After returning from a festival, I wanted to take part in a promotion offering a free pizza for a festival wristband, advertised on their Instagram and website. When I called at 20:59 to confirm, the staff member had no idea about the promotion. Despite my attempts to explain, he refused to check the platforms. There was a significant language barrier, and when I asked to speak with a manager, my request was denied. The call was abruptly terminated by him, which was extremely unprofessional. This experience was frustrating for several reasons: 1. The staff’s lack of awareness about an advertised promotion. 2. The refusal to verify the promotion details. 3. The unprofessional handling of the call. This reflects poor customer service and a lack of communication within the store. Highly disappointing - stay clear.

They seem to have improved a lot since last time. I ordered for a collection and the food was very hot. The only downside was the cheesy potato totes which doesn't have much cheese on it.

We ordered pizza and kept calling to find out where the pizza was and we were told their oven is broken . Got Pizza 3 hours later and cold. I had to call the store about 10 times before I could get through the manager for a refund. He promised me a refund that I never got . When I called back to find out why have I not been refunded yet the manager said y are you calling now you should have called the next day .worse place ever

I would of gave 0 star if I can the food was horrible no taste of pizza just plain dough don't make the same mistake I did save your money and order elsewhere!!!! Never again

Wish I had read the other reviews first. Webpage says my order is delivered. Called the restaurant twice. Still no pizza.

I'm always anxious about ordering pizza from here for delivery because of the uncertain delivery times (the longest waiting time was 2 and a half hours). This time though I placed the order 21:43 on a Friday night and 20 minutes later I had hot pizza sitting on my kitchen counter. The driver was also nice, and he kindly asked me to leave a good review if I liked the service . Fingers crossed the improvements will last because this pizza is really tasty!

40 mins after ordering restaurant called to say pizza wouldn’t be delivered - they’d run out of ingredients at 7pm on a Thursday! We will think again before ordering from Papa Johns. A shame as has been good in the past.

Ordered online for home delivery. The tracker told us it had been delivered half an hour after placing the order (before it arrived). The store were unhepful when we called to ask if there was a problem, and it didn't turn up for about 35 minutes after that. Pizza wasn't particularly nice either, very thin base (we didnt order the thinner base), a bit soggy and not much flavour. Sadly, won't be ordering again. Still tipped via the online 'tipjar' as I hope the driver got some of it, who did his best. Just glad we had 50% off the price with Meerkat rewards!

The WORST restaurant ever! Waited an hour for the wrong delivery to Turn up, cold and burnt. Tried calling no answer and had to get the delivery driver to call them to call me. Agreed to send another one, waited another hour. Tried to call them to find out what happened and proceeded to get shouted at down the phone to say I was in the wrong for complaining! DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!

The pizza came like it was blended and destroyed.

We just ordered pizza and it said it’s been delivered! But there is no pizza and delivery! What a joke and you don’t even answer your phones! Now we are having to drive down to you and tell you as there is no other way of getting hold of this branch!

Pathetic service… ordered food online.. more than 1.20 minutes… order didn’t got delivered. No response when called, later a lady picked up a call and said it will be delivered in 15 minutes. Worst place to order from, Domino’s is way better and on time. So unprofessional behaviour. Would never ever order from them neither would recommend anyone to other from Papa John’s ever. So disappointed.

Pizza showed up with multiple hairs all over it. I phoned the branch and the refused to offer a refund, saying they can only replace the pizza (why would I want another pizza from a place with such poor hygiene practices). Still waiting to see if head office provide a refund.

I’m shocked to see how many people have the same experience as this. I ordered a pizza at 9:00pm, 9:30pm app said it was delivered. 10:00pm still no pizza so I called the store and was told it will be here any minute. 10:30pm still no pizza. Called again but no answer, kept calling for 30 mins straight and no answer. Obviously the staff decided to close 30 mins early and not care about anyone who ordered. 11:00pm pizza arrived like a piece of plastic that could have smashed a window. Called back today to complain, was told manager is not here and I wasn’t working yesterday so not my problem. Papa Johns needs to end its franchise contract with this branch or at least allow users to choose a different location. I also want my money back.

Love coming here! Great customer service and their vegan pizza is the best I’ve ever tasted! Better than anywhere else. The restaurant is clean and there is a table to sit on while you wait for your order. The manager (I think it’s spelt Sherie) is lovely too- warm and friendly. We ordered from them a few weeks ago for my kids party and the order arrived bang on the dot. Not 1 minute late so we are really grateful to have them round the corner from us. Thanks so much once again!

Pizza was excellent and delivered very quickly. The side wasn’t so great as the chicken was poor quality.

Similar experience to others. Always really late on delivery, takes at least an hour and a half. Always cold on arrival. Food seems like it'd be really nice fresh and warm but that hasn't happened in the three times I've tried. Last time I called I was told they were only a little busier than normal and given the other reviews I just assume at this point that this is the standard level of service they give. Really unfortunate.

Avoid any this branch at all cost’s. Ordered a few times hoping the service would get better but time and time your left waiting a ridiculous amount of time . Don’t bother calling because no one will pick up the phone . Food is not top quality compared to other branches . Won’t be ordering again .

So I ordered from another food place, my pizza then arrives at 11,51 pm at my door with no excuse why it’s late , but my other food was 5 mins away ,so I politely explained to the driver what had happened and showed him pictures of the app showing it had been delivered at 11.15,he told me he understood where I was coming from and it would not be a problem just speak to the shop tomorrow! So as Clarified with the drive the night before,I rung the shop the next day to sort out refund ,to be told that because I turned food away it’s now down to me to cover the cost of the food. Ordered at 8.34, at 9.08 it says it been delivered but it's now 30 minutes later and still no order. Tried calling upwards of 10 times and no answer. Extremely poor customer service. Do not order from here!

Horrific!! My pizza never even arrived, we phoned them and they never answered! Still waiting to find out if we will get a refund. If we don’t we will take legal action against them.

I have had exactly the same experience as others have posted here. The order never arrived and no one ever answers the phone. Avoid this place at all costs and order from a reputable restaurant instead. As I paid through PayPal I was able to get a full refund. It still doesn't make up for the inconvenience these jokers have caused. Absolutely despicable. Papa John's GB should strike off this franchise.

Absolute joke I ordered at 17.11 online three pizzas after 50 mins the website said enjoy your food as if it was delivered, it was not! I had to ring 8 times before someone eventually answered the phone and said that the driver had just left then nearly 40 mins later still hasn’t been delivered and I am currently attempting to ring the restaurant for the tenth time while I type this out. If I could give it no stars I would. Should be ashamed of yourselves I will be asking for a refund if our food ever turns up! Poor customer service and after waiting this long I’m sure it will turn up (if it does at all) cold. Edited. Pizza turned up at 19.14 and was cold I want a refund five very unhappy children not to mention mum and dad!!

Food was delivered 1 hour 40 minutes after ordering despite our house being less than 10 minutes away and being told to expect our food within the hour. We were then offered another free order after complaining and guess what......... it turned up 30 minutes late and is stone cold, once again unenjoyable and not worth paying or waiting for. This branch needs new management 🙄 Never ordering from that branch again.... terrible food standard and unacceptable delivery times from what is essentially a fast food delivery service 😕

Shockingly bad experience. Four adults, 3 pizzas and some sides. Four adults with cramps and diarrhoea the next day. You can complain about cold food, about weird taste, but when it becomes a health hazard, it's different. I will send an inspection and I hope the place will shut down. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!

Absolute shambles this place. Pizza took forever to arrive. Ironic seeing as they've just introduced a £2 delivery charge! Took about 5 minutes for them to answer the phone. Pizza was just about passable. Won't bother ordering from here again.

I’ve never had a good experience ordering from this PJ. Gave them the benefit of the doubt on this occasion and it was another disappointment. Pizza arrived late, cold, chewy and with hardly any toppings. Never ordering from this place again. I’d rather pay a couple of quid more and get better quality pizza from Dominoes.

The pizza is actually pretty good. But my order a week or so ago included ice cream which they didn't deliver. Two phones calls on the night promised it would be - it wasn't. A 3rd call promised a refund - which I didn't get. A 4th call promised a call back from a manager which also never happened. Not wasting any more time on it and will not use them again.

Never having tried Papa Johns before, I was quite curious as to how it would compare to the other well known pizza chain places and so I placed an order online. I chose their £14.99 deal which included a medium pizza, a side and a drink. I realised after that I had selected collection only by mistake but a quick call to the branch resolved this straight away and they delivered it to me within 45 minutes. The ingredients were fresh on the vegetarian side of the pizza but the taste overall was just bland and lacking in any real flavour. The cheese and tomato side wasn’t any better and I would describe it overall as just rather boring and tasteless sadly. I chose the potato tots with cheese for my side and it was also nothing very special either unfortunately. It was more mush than crispy and again just lacked in any kind of taste. An hour or so later I realised that they had forgotten my free water and so I called the branch and they said that they would deliver it to me no problem. They did this quite promptly - with a few tubs of garlic and herb dip that they had also forgotten. I probably wouldn’t order from this chain again but I was very impressed with the customer service side of the branch.

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE! I only received the food 1.5 hrs after ordering and even then we didn't receive a side so I had to run to the driver and go collect it myself. I also called the shop more than 7 times to complain and ask why it was taking so long but no one picked up. The food was also undercooked and not hot at all! I would give 0 stars if possible.

Order an American Hot and there was hardly any pepperoni on it. 1 slice of pepperoni per 3 slices of pizza. Called the shop and the guy was arguing and told me that nothing can be done because I opened the box! Real bad customer service! Was reading the reviews and find that a lot of unhappy customers - not sure why HO is not doing anything about it. Dominos have better service.

Have ordered a few times from here to collect Always been a good pizza and ready to collect pretty quickly. Similar style to pizza hut and dominos but I prefer the ones from here. There seem to be a fair amount of negative reviews recently but they seem to be about delivery problems and it's hard to know how many good/ok deliveries are made for each bad experience. I cant comment on that. My only criticism is that the garlic dip they give isn't the best.

Ordered on a Saturday lunchtime and it took so long to arrive. When it did get here the driver couldn’t find where I lived so I had to give him directions - bearing in mind I live in a very urban and built up area. The driver was at least apologetic and friendly however which boosted them from 2 stars to 3. Food was okay but not up to Dominos or Pizza Hut standard and was really expensive for what it was - a couple of average pizzas.

Food gave both me and my partner food poisoning. Meal was cold and bland, wouldn’t take it if you gave it to me for free. Customer service was abysmal my experience included speaking to somebody who hung up on me when they couldn’t answer my question and then refused to give me the free pizza that I was offered instead of a refund from my last bad experience.

Ordered online of which they take the payment 1st and then food doesnt arrive until 2 hours after - doubt they are that busy or maybe the delivery drivers are just dodgy - won't order from here unless can pay buy cash...

The food took over an hour and a half to be delivered after ordering. I ordered the food at 8.25pm thinking it would arrive around 9pm. The food arrived at 10pm. SO LATE. I just wanted to go to sleep and cancel the order. I called the restaurant 4 times the hour and a half, each time the person on the phone would say the driver has left but clearly he hadn't. The food when arrived wasn't even hot. Really REALLY poor. The customer service on the phone was really unhelpful too, they had a terrible attitude and kept asking me to wait whilst they answered other phone calls. Disappointed massively.

Absolutely awful service, took over 2 hours to get our dinner. Ordered for my 5 year old and wife as a film night, pizza didn’t arrive until after 8.30pm yet tracker stated it was delivered at 7.43!! Phoned numerous time, staff incredibly rude and full of attitude. Only 2nd timing using papa johns and would never use them again. Pizza and sides all freezing cold and straight in the bin, ruined our night.

Ordered pizza over an hour ago and tracked it and it said I was eating my pizza and I haven’t even received it. Just received my meal and it was completely cold. I threw it out and will never ever order from them again in my life nor will my children and grandchildren.

On the website it says that i have received the order but i have not received it and they are using cronovirus as an excuse and give rude replies ... I have kids waiting for food and its almost an hour now since driver apparently left .. it is not even far from where i live and why is he doing multiple orders that means when or if i receive my order it will be cold probably???

Wish I could give 0 stars. Pizza didn't arrive for 1.5 hours (said 40 minutes). Called up - they said 5 minutes. 20 went by. Called again - they said they'd sent the wrong order out to us and were having to redeliver. 2 hours and they arrived. Pizza was cold and stale. Tried to ask the driver if he could speak to his boss about a refund. Driver lied and said yes, swore at us, drove off with the pizza and put his middle finger up to us as he left with it. We called up and complained, asking for a refund and explained what happened. No apologies at all for driver's behaviour. Said they wouldn't redeliver us another pizza or give a refund. Said the manager would call us in half an hour. Hour went by. We called up and the most we got was "The manager will refund you in 5 working days". Awful.

I ordered a pizza and was double charged. I spent weeks chasing fro a refund that I have now raised it as a dispute with my bank. Shambles. Every time I called the manager was never there or I had just missed them. Also, their delivery takes long so I was told I would get a free pizza. Never happened.

Waited over 3 hours for the food to arrive. I had ordered online and I tried calling the place numerous times on the phone to ask about the order and they wouldn't even pick up the phone! When the food finally arrived it was surprisingly really hot and in good condition, which leads me to leave that they didn't even bother starting to cook it until about 30 minutes before they finally decided to deliver it. I tried applying for a refund but there was no way to do so. I tried contesting it on the company owners website (where you can submit complaints), and all they could offer me was a coupon. I said no because I stated that there was no way I was going to order from them again; making a coupon pointless, and with that they just closed my complaint ticket!

I paid online for my order and never received my pizzas due to delivery driver having a accident. So was told will be refunded that was on the 9th it is now the 25th and still nothing. Do not and I repeat do not order from here. The food took well over 2 hours to arrive and this was after several calls to find out where the food was. It arrived cold, squished into a corner and frankly was pretty poor taste wise. It's a shame since i've been to Papa Johns in different parts of the country and it's my favourite pizza chain. This specific branch is just letting the team down. If I was in charge of the brand i'd be embarrassed to have this branch use the branding.

Never arrived called the restaurant and they told me 10mins later called again my order was not on their system keep hanging phone on me had to chat with just eat to get my refund (£ better come tru ) all this time my app was saying food delivered. Not usin this again as it the second time

First time order, no delivery made even 1.5 hours, will never purchase from them, Croydon Domino's having better service instead! They didn't refund me within the promised time period (3 working days)
