I’m waiting for a refund for 17 days now, I had an order cancelled on 01August, we are in 17 and still I didn’t receive it. Iv spoke with 4 people from them, all said to me the same thing, don’t worry sir, I will resolve this and you will receive the refund in 3 days. Liars. Ridiculous and unacceptable.

Unfortunately wasn’t delivered even though app said it was and money went out of my account.

Food never arrived, I received a phonecall to say tbe delivery driver had broken down, which is nobody's fault, these things happen. What's frustrating is that the restaurant could not cancel my order because their higher ups don't allow it, they would get in trouble for cancelling. So now I'm having to wait to cancel it via JUSTEAT, and have to wait days for refund. VERY poor first impression with this place.

This is the second time Thai has happened now… ordered at around 5pm for 6:30 delivery. I contacted them to be told it was stuck in heavy traffic… it’s a 19 minute drive and on checking maps no red/orange areas en route for traffic/accidents. At 7:30pm so an hour late I honed the restaurant to be told that it had only left 15 minutes prior. The food arrived cold. It’s really not good enough. The staff clearly need more/better training.

Over 2 hours late its insane called up got no help whatsoever was ment to arrive at qauter to 10.

Lovely food, although pizza quite expensive for size. Really tasty and enjoyed what we all. Would buy again .

Like the rest of the reviews I’m afraid, food arrived over an hour late and was stone cold. Suspect they’ve bitten off more than they can chew with the delivery promise to Dawlish. Shame.

Waited an hour and then the app went from saying they have the order straight to enjoy your food. Sent a message to say food not arrived and got into bed thinking it’s not coming. Another half hour later it randomly arrived 🤦

Took Over an hour for the delivery and when the pizza did arrive it was cold, This is not the first time it has happened.

I placed the order at 3:20 for delivery at 4:35 for my partner when he came home from work as we had a quick turnaround. It got to 4:45 and heard nothing. I contacted the restaurant who sent a message to say it was on its way… it still hadn’t arrived by 5:15 so i requested a refund, which the restaurant refused, saying that the delivery driver was stuck in heavy traffic. The delivery driver arrived on a motor bike… so clearly they’d just forgotten my order! The boxes were damp, damaged, squished

had a call at 20:25 to say an item ordered was unavailable, no option for refund, said to just put something else instead. Told order was just coming out the oven and would be with us in about half an hour. I called back as for still hadn't arrived 50mins later, was told it was on the way. It arrived half an hour later cold and barely edible. Clearly taking more orders than capable of delivering. Feel sorry for the staff as they were polite but clearly working in impossible conditions.

A huge thank you to Megan and the team for helping some of our Year 6 children celebrate completing their tests in style with discounted, delicious pizza. Made the mistake of contacting Domino’s, and after promising similar, their area manager decided to pull the plug and disappoint the children a few days before. Up stepped Megan and her team to save the day. Thank you!

I ordered and they lied that my order's been delivered. So I called them and they said "oh, your pizza is in the oven". Then explained what the problem is and asked for a full refund. And then they pretended they don't understand what I'm saying and hung up the phone. Management and employees are absolutely ridiculous. I've never had problems with other Papa John's shops just this one (Newton Abbot)...

Never actually received the food but still been charged for it.

No one in store. 10+ minutes after order for collection was placed they cancelled, literally watched them cancel it while I was in the store despite no one being there prior to this

this order fine. Subsequent orders - was informed that delivery was on route. Turns out they were lying, order was not on way and had a notice from just eat to say 'order cancelled' not very good service at all. Would definitely go elsewhere for food, do not rely on papa John's at all.

Order was an hour late and freezing cold, Iv tried to call them and been on hold for 1 hour and 10 minutes so far. Very disappointed. Do not waste your money here. Appalling service.

My food hasn’t even arrived and will not arrive. I was told the driver couldn’t find my address and called multiple times, no miss calls. I wouldn’t order from this place unless you’re in the same town, but judging by other reviews, I wouldn’t order at all.

Late, food arrived cold due to the ice cream being placed in the hot bag with the pizzas. So pizzas were soggy and ruined and ice cream was melted. Requested a refund from Just Eat who said that as the food was edible the refund would not be granted. Utterly ridiculous.

I visited last night (a Saturday) to pick up a couple of large pizzas I'd ordered online for collection. Was astonished to find only one employee churning out all of the food. She was doing a sterling job, despite obviously having a mountain of orders to deal with, both from online and walk-ins. Food was great, as usual.

We waited for nearly two hours for our delivery and nothing arrived. We contacted Papa Johns to find out our delivery status. No apology for the delay, just asked if we could collect our order or we would have to wait another half an hour. The food finally turned up after waiting for almost three hours. The pizza was cold and tasteless. Very disappointed.

Food is as you'd expect from a fast food restaurant, above average but nothing to write home about. Service not as you'd expect though, below average, staff are nice enough but don't seem to care whatsoever & have missed items off an order several times. All in all slightly underwhelming and frustrating as I do like to take away from here for convenience sometimes.

Ordered my food at 8pm, it’s currently 10pm and it still has not arrived. Last call to the restaurant at 21:30 telling me the order had just left the shop. No apology from them for how late the order was. Absolutely awful.

I can only assume the management at the Newton Abbot branch see customers as a nuisance based on my experience this evening. Ordered for delivery at 7.30pm, at 9 pm still no delivery, in spite of the app saying our food had been delivered. Called the branch and was told my order was just out the oven and out for delivery. 30 minutes later and still no delivery. (10 minute drive from store to my door). This call, I’m told it’s 10 minutes away, at this point I accepted the offer of cancelling the order so let’s see how great the refund goes. For reference, the order is 1 pizza and 2 sides. Honestly, how hard is it to make and deliver pizza, I’d genuinely like to know what went wrong.

Food was pretty standard, ordered for my daughter’s birthday. But rarely do you see positive reviews about the customer service being praised when taking the order over the phone. A special mentioned is deserved for Nicole who I rate as 5 star customer service skills, nothing was a problem when order was changed several times. Hope you get recognised for this Nicole!!

For the second time now I've had something wrong with my order and it's felt like a massive battle just to get a simple resolution, and has put me off from ordering again, so have edited my review from 5*. First time there was no BBQ sauce on the BBQ pizza I ordered, and person on phone made me feel like I should just get over it. What they should have done is just sent the correct order out but they agreed to bring us some BBQ sauce (normally it's cooked with it on of course). Tonight they failed to supply the drink we ordered as apparently have no drinks left at all-not a big deal but they still have them available on the website and never let us know, told us would be refunded but it wasn't sorted automatically and I had to ring and chase this. On ringing she didn't know what to do, told me they could give me one next time I order! Had to ask to speak to manager and she just said they'd refund it which is all I wanted sorting in the first place! (I used points, they couldn't add them back). Big fuss over nothing. The food was fine other than all squashed to one side in the box. It's really disappointing when you pay a lot of money to have a treat and you get poor service.

Got my order incorrect and then said they just "don't look at tickets" when I asked for a replacment they said the driver "doesn't like going to teignmouth so they won't be going back". Customer service was awful and food not even that nice. Don't order from here

Ran out of all drinks apparently had to ask where it was.? Delivery man said it has been credited. It wasn’t had to manually do it myself. But annoying but good we did get was nice.

It was missing items. The delivery driver said they ran out, but it was too difficult to update Just Eat.

Still not received our order, est ETA 8.15. it is now 9pm called the restaurant 45 mins ago as app said it had been delivered, they said it was on its way and the app can be ahead of itself. Called again 15 mins ago, they said we were the next to be delivered. Still not here. 🤷‍♀️ looking forward to cold food, if it gets here!

Tasty Pizza, but awful delivery time resulting in it being barely lukewarm. Assuming this branch is just short on drivers currently, but it needs to improve quickly.

Food arrived 40 minutes after latest expected time, food was freezing cold when arrived. Restaurant called to say had run out of chicken so we could have an alternative topping, this was a long time after we originally placed order.

I've just had to call to see where my food was 45 min after ordering to be told it will be a further 60 min. I've cancelled the order, I now have to wait 7 days for a refund

Order a pizza online system crashed, took my money but no pizza had to order again and pay again, so paid twice for one pizza over a week has elapsed still no refund better off going to Dominos better pizza and more trustworthy than papa Johns, most annoying bit is no contact even though I have spoken to two supposed managers and all the details were logged very poor customer service! Update today is the 2nd of January despite numerous attempts to get my money back still nothing so they have had my money 2 months now absolute joke customer service! Up date after speaking to Sarah at customer service finally got my refund today 3/1/2024!!!

Ordered a pepperoni pizza to takaway. The pepperoni was underneath the cheese even though its called a topping. completely slid of the base Was the most greasy pizza i have ever had in my life. Never again.

On the day we ordered apparently they ran out of chicken problem with that is 75%of the pizzas have chicken on them so not ideal but the service was good and we got our order promptly

Placed an online order for collection for there cinnamon pie, on collection theyd ran out of the icing that comes with it so i rejected the order as dont like it dry...... Theyre unable to refund in store so called customer service following day to request refund, they refused to deal with it over the phone said i had to request the refund online so i hung up and went via their online service. A week on still no refund or response so i had to raise via paypal...... Papa johns has claimed i recieved my order and its been a real ballache to get a refund. You shouldnt sell goods you havent got all the ingredients for and if someone refuses the order due to this reason a refund should be given immediately. Not the first time this has happened but will be the last time i order anything from this company

Big, sharp shard of glass / plastic in my daughter's pizza, which she nearly swallowed. Unforgivable.

We had our 2 pizzas arrive last night and they were dreadful. We picked up a slice and the toppings fell off instantly as seen in the pictures below. We phoned up the store and the on shift manager (Friday 11th August at 2120) said it was due to it be being 'hot'. As we had a slice of the pizza he said there was nothing they could do for us and we were left extremely disappointed in the service provided and the standard of pizza we received. We will not be returning again!

Absolutely and completely shocking. Ordered food, said it would take an hour to get here (we live 15 minutes at most away) food was estimated to arrive at 2:30 (we ordered at 1:30ish). It is now 3:40 NO FOOD HAS ARRIVED. Completely shocking. We tried to ring up left on call for 20 minutes and after calling multiple times again just got hung up on. Shocking service. Obviously the staff are shocking. Should of gone to domino’s. We just rang up, answered right away and the order will be here in half an hour. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Had better service in 3rd world countries.

Been there twice, 1st time they forgot my order, 2nd (& last) ordered on my phone, website crashed twice, arrived to collect on time i was given & it hadn't been made. Another 20 minutes so returned on time. Waited 5 minutes, pizza put on the counter, waited another 5 minutes to pay, offered a free drink in compensation when I complained. Won't be going back there again. Wouldn't trust them to run a bath.

Went in to place an order, the guy was friendly and had great customer service, the best ever in a take away shop. He was polite and helpful, give us a great deal and we waiting whilst our fresh pizza was cooked, ideal. We took the pizza and potato tots home, all delicious, will be visiting again

Extremely poor, if you cannot handle timed delivery slots take the option away. Received a luke warm pizza an hour and forty minutes after ordering. We are busy is not a valid excuse for missing a service you provide guests an option for. Lack of service and the management either do not care or lack experience, something is very wrong here, seems we are not the only ones experiencing this either. Will not be ordering again we will go back to the competition.

Stood around for nearly half an hour with my 6 Yr old and nothing. Went to Dominos who were lovely. They eventually rang over an hour later to say they were open. Still waiting on my refund 4 days later.

Ordered from newton abbot Friday 18.30pm. It took a while to be delivered. The delivery driver apologised for the delay but unfortunately the delay caused the pizza to be cold. So my first experience of papa johns was disappointing.

Ordered twice and both time the pizzas took over 4 hours to arrive. Staff insisted repeatedly the pizza would not be long every time we called.

Great experience here tonight, staff couldn't be more friendly if they tried, will definitely be back.

I ordered tow pizza’s at 18.29 and it too nearly two hours to deliver… I phoned twice during this time and both times the person an the manager told on both occasions that it was going out the door as we speak… considering it’s only 1.5 miles it took 20 mins to deliver them … during the phone calls I told them to cancel the order as I wasn’t happy with the pizza’s sitting on the hot plate for 1.5 hours … I have spoken to a manager in which he said they were very busy … which if they had told me in the beginning I would have understood… I was told that the cook them when they get the order in then it sits on a hot plate till there is a driver to deliver…. I have sent an email to Papper Johns but had no reply… or my money back … As you can imagine I will not be ordering from them again… I’m very disgusted with the whole set up … 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Really poor from here tonight. Pre ordered and still couldn't get it ready at the correct time. Then realised part of the order was missing... Garlic bread tastes of artificial flavouring. Toppings were very sparse and taste was lacking all round. Recommend to avoid, I'll certainly never use again.

Had a special treat on the weekend and although expensive they cover this with the 50% off. Pizza was excellent and cooked extremely quickly
