Nearly 2 hours from ordering to delivering is pretty shocking. Pizza was okay.

Don’t bother ordering from here shocking service. Unable to get through on the phone order over an hour late.

My order never arrived. The restaurant has lied over and over again. After following Just Eats instructions,

Did not arrive at all! Called and was told food would be here shortly as was just coming out of the oven, but never arrived

I could have got a better pizza from a Lidls frozen one ! The whole order was shocking ! Never again will I order from papa johns In newton abbot

I've been waiting almost 2 hours for an order that is only located 15 mins away. The person at Papa Johns was also useless in terms of updating me, they didn't know when the food would arrive and was absolutely no help

We walked in off the street looking for a pizza. Unfortunately, the customer service was poor. The young lady wasn’t helpful and barely made eye contact. So, we decided to go to Domino’s and ordered instead. Considering it was our first time in Papa John’s, I think it’s safe to say we won’t be back. Domino’s was far superior, which is saying something!

Took 2hrs for order to arrive, then when it did eventually turn up, it was incorrect, cold, undercooked...

Food was ok, the delivery guy apologised for the delay but seems to have been a very common experience. I wish I had read the reviews before ordering. But meant we knew to put the oven on for if /when the pizzas arrived. When I rang, they apologised which is fine but the order had been marked as delivered and the pizzas weren’t even in the oven yet. Not updating “just eat” appropriately is at worst frustrating but luckily they answered the phone when we rang and the food arrived. I would avoid.

I ordered my delivery and not only was the delivery about more than 1 hour late, they forgot one of the dips I payed for and when I tried to get some money back for being more late the said I wouldn’t be getting any money back

Gave me wrong size of drink, paid for 1.5l and got only 500ml. Not enough for my family!

pizza did not even turn up at all, ordered at 9.15pm, it's now 11.30pm, not even a call or a txt from them to explain. avoid buying from these idiots at all costs

Due 7.30 to 8 arrived at 9.30 and missing an item

Food did not arrive at time stated, called the restaurant- could not tell me when it would arrive. Driver had 2 trips still to do, could be another hour. No notification that this was the case, had to call. Went to collect it. No offer of any form of compensation. Food was not pleasant. Tiny overpriced sides, greasy pizzas. Our first and last order from Papa Johns!

Disappointed, two hours for delivery, still not here after £50 order. Sent text, no reply, two calls. Told on way. It’s 2 miles away. I understand businesses are busy but 2 hours doesn’t seem reasonable.

Veggie pizza was good. Service same as before mediocre.

Made our order at 5:55, then we called them at 6:15 and they said it was being cooked/ made. Then we received a call saying things we ordered online wasn’t available. They said we had to leave an email to receive it back but offered us something different! By this time it had been 40 mins, we called again at 7:15 and was told they were waiting for an uber driver! As expected the food came colder than my ice cream which was warm and it all arrived at 8:45, what a joke I should of read the reviews, how can you offer delivery service with no wheels!!! First and very last time, will be trying to get a refund !

2 hour wait for pizza that arrived over done and without dip.

2 hours later than the already 1 hour delivery time, I ended up driving to collect it. Embarrassing for our guests, had to feed kids before it arrived as ended up collecting at 9.30pm after bedtime, 1 delivery driver working but was not told this when we ordered so just kept hanging on hopefully and getting told another hour another hour it’s in process.. avoid avoid avoid

Late hours at the end wrong order . they give me replacement that cost less plus not something I would eat this is second time they messed up other time I find out my food would not come but money was taken

Food is good. But don’t order delivery at peak times. 2 hours later than given delivery time to arrive on a Friday evening. Ordered 7pm. 7:45 estimated delivery. Actually arrived after 10pm.

Waited for 2.5 hours, no food arrived. At all. Ever. Been trying to call for 30 minutes.

Took so long to get food as only one poor staff member to cover everything on a “Tuesday offer” night, so poor.

Store staff here are really nice and helpful, as are their own delivery drivers. They're unfortunately let down by using Uber drivers, who accept the order, take it, then change their mind. It took two hours to get our food. Food was exactly as expected.

order was due at 645-7. call from restaurant at 735pm to say no fries. asked them to just take off order. order then not delivered until almost 830. driver got lost in park, which is fair enough but I pinned it and gave full description as best I could. woke up after requesting refund and denied but still charged for fries that were out of stock. really shocking service. pizza was good but tater tors were very under cooked. disappointed as papa johns is usually the best

No notification to say it’s on its way. Arrived late. No tango bottle I paid for. Supposed to come with garlic and herb dip each pizza and it came with tomato. Food was barely warm. Normally a good feast from here but very disappointed tonight

Many items we ordered weren’t in stock then when we asked for certain replacements they got them wrong

First time ordering with Papa John's and would never do again. The food was over an hour late, when asked where it was they said it was with the driver. I then received a call 20 mins later from them to double check part of the order - so it hadn't left and they lied.

Surprisingly good, it was a bit late but the food was warmer than I expected, I called the restaurant and they sorted everything.

Some of food was undercooked. Potatoe tots soggy Chicken poppers was not cooked for long enough chicken wings drowned in sauce.

only when I called did I get an update that it was still in the oven half an hour after it had apparently been delivered. food arrived hot thankfully. understandable that the takeaway was extremely busy but an update would have been appreciated or even closed the orders if you can't handle it. The staff are very friendly and doing they're best.

Had a call after it was already scheduled to be delivered to say they were out of stock of some things we ordered. After amending the order it was then 1hr 20mins late to deliver barely warm, soggy, unappealing food that looked as though it had sat around for hours. Awful.

Ordered at 15:54 with an expected time of 16:20-16:45, it came at 17.10 and cold, disappointing as it’s only 2 min walk away. The pizza was tasty but would have been nice hot. The cheese was hard. Had to warm it all up to get the cheese stringy.

Delivery driver needs to be sacked I want my money back

Had a busy night but when it came was fresh and tasty manager very pleasent about it.

Terrible service and was told they only had XL and small pizzas...no large ones????. Staff have very bad attitudes and have absolutely no clue what they are doing. I would definitely not recommend ordering from here and if I could rate them a zero then I would.

I’m waiting for a refund for 17 days now, I had an order cancelled on 01August, we are in 17 and still I didn’t receive it. Iv spoke with 4 people from them, all said to me the same thing, don’t worry sir, I will resolve this and you will receive the refund in 3 days. Liars. Ridiculous and unacceptable.

Unfortunately wasn’t delivered even though app said it was and money went out of my account.

Food never arrived, I received a phonecall to say tbe delivery driver had broken down, which is nobody's fault, these things happen. What's frustrating is that the restaurant could not cancel my order because their higher ups don't allow it, they would get in trouble for cancelling. So now I'm having to wait to cancel it via JUSTEAT, and have to wait days for refund. VERY poor first impression with this place.

This is the second time Thai has happened now… ordered at around 5pm for 6:30 delivery. I contacted them to be told it was stuck in heavy traffic… it’s a 19 minute drive and on checking maps no red/orange areas en route for traffic/accidents. At 7:30pm so an hour late I honed the restaurant to be told that it had only left 15 minutes prior. The food arrived cold. It’s really not good enough. The staff clearly need more/better training.

Over 2 hours late its insane called up got no help whatsoever was ment to arrive at qauter to 10.

Waited an hour and then the app went from saying they have the order straight to enjoy your food. Sent a message to say food not arrived and got into bed thinking it’s not coming. Another half hour later it randomly arrived 🤦

I placed the order at 3:20 for delivery at 4:35 for my partner when he came home from work as we had a quick turnaround. It got to 4:45 and heard nothing. I contacted the restaurant who sent a message to say it was on its way… it still hadn’t arrived by 5:15 so i requested a refund, which the restaurant refused, saying that the delivery driver was stuck in heavy traffic. The delivery driver arrived on a motor bike… so clearly they’d just forgotten my order! The boxes were damp, damaged, squished

had a call at 20:25 to say an item ordered was unavailable, no option for refund, said to just put something else instead. Told order was just coming out the oven and would be with us in about half an hour. I called back as for still hadn't arrived 50mins later, was told it was on the way. It arrived half an hour later cold and barely edible. Clearly taking more orders than capable of delivering. Feel sorry for the staff as they were polite but clearly working in impossible conditions.

A huge thank you to Megan and the team for helping some of our Year 6 children celebrate completing their tests in style with discounted, delicious pizza. Made the mistake of contacting Domino’s, and after promising similar, their area manager decided to pull the plug and disappoint the children a few days before. Up stepped Megan and her team to save the day. Thank you!

I ordered and they lied that my order's been delivered. So I called them and they said "oh, your pizza is in the oven". Then explained what the problem is and asked for a full refund. And then they pretended they don't understand what I'm saying and hung up the phone. Management and employees are absolutely ridiculous. I've never had problems with other Papa John's shops just this one (Newton Abbot)...

this order fine. Subsequent orders - was informed that delivery was on route. Turns out they were lying, order was not on way and had a notice from just eat to say 'order cancelled' not very good service at all. Would definitely go elsewhere for food, do not rely on papa John's at all.

My food hasn’t even arrived and will not arrive. I was told the driver couldn’t find my address and called multiple times, no miss calls. I wouldn’t order from this place unless you’re in the same town, but judging by other reviews, I wouldn’t order at all.

Late, food arrived cold due to the ice cream being placed in the hot bag with the pizzas. So pizzas were soggy and ruined and ice cream was melted. Requested a refund from Just Eat who said that as the food was edible the refund would not be granted. Utterly ridiculous.

I visited last night (a Saturday) to pick up a couple of large pizzas I'd ordered online for collection. Was astonished to find only one employee churning out all of the food. She was doing a sterling job, despite obviously having a mountain of orders to deal with, both from online and walk-ins. Food was great, as usual.

Food is as you'd expect from a fast food restaurant, above average but nothing to write home about. Service not as you'd expect though, below average, staff are nice enough but don't seem to care whatsoever & have missed items off an order several times. All in all slightly underwhelming and frustrating as I do like to take away from here for convenience sometimes.

Ordered my food at 8pm, it’s currently 10pm and it still has not arrived. Last call to the restaurant at 21:30 telling me the order had just left the shop. No apology from them for how late the order was. Absolutely awful.

I can only assume the management at the Newton Abbot branch see customers as a nuisance based on my experience this evening. Ordered for delivery at 7.30pm, at 9 pm still no delivery, in spite of the app saying our food had been delivered. Called the branch and was told my order was just out the oven and out for delivery. 30 minutes later and still no delivery. (10 minute drive from store to my door). This call, I’m told it’s 10 minutes away, at this point I accepted the offer of cancelling the order so let’s see how great the refund goes. For reference, the order is 1 pizza and 2 sides. Honestly, how hard is it to make and deliver pizza, I’d genuinely like to know what went wrong.

Food was pretty standard, ordered for my daughter’s birthday. But rarely do you see positive reviews about the customer service being praised when taking the order over the phone. A special mentioned is deserved for Nicole who I rate as 5 star customer service skills, nothing was a problem when order was changed several times. Hope you get recognised for this Nicole!!

For the second time now I've had something wrong with my order and it's felt like a massive battle just to get a simple resolution, and has put me off from ordering again, so have edited my review from 5*. First time there was no BBQ sauce on the BBQ pizza I ordered, and person on phone made me feel like I should just get over it. What they should have done is just sent the correct order out but they agreed to bring us some BBQ sauce (normally it's cooked with it on of course). Tonight they failed to supply the drink we ordered as apparently have no drinks left at all-not a big deal but they still have them available on the website and never let us know, told us would be refunded but it wasn't sorted automatically and I had to ring and chase this. On ringing she didn't know what to do, told me they could give me one next time I order! Had to ask to speak to manager and she just said they'd refund it which is all I wanted sorting in the first place! (I used points, they couldn't add them back). Big fuss over nothing. The food was fine other than all squashed to one side in the box. It's really disappointing when you pay a lot of money to have a treat and you get poor service.

Topping was nearly non existent, no pepperoni and was cold when arrived. Yeah …. Won’t bother next time.
