Not a good experience from this place. Won’t be ordering again.

Ordered pizza at 17.00 track my order showed it was being checked at 17.10, messaged 17.16 delivery has been set up with Uber, 18.06 message received sorry your order has been cancelled. your courier couldn't finish the delivery. Phoned Papa Johns and lady was apologetic and was told your order is on its way. luke warm pizza arrived 10 minutes later. First it was not my courier it was papa johns would never use Uber. Have been a customer of Papa johns for many years. Never again if they are using Uber.

Pizza took well over an hour to be delivered, ask for refund but staff were rude and abusive and IV still not received a pizza or a refund

Everything was hot and the decent amount of toppings. Took 45 mins to be delivered and Extra ranch sauce on base wouldnt go a miss otherwise was lovely.

Final nail in the coffin for Papa Johns Pizza , Burgess hill tonight. I went in to order pizza 🍕 after a long flight and day.... I stood bt the counter for a full 5 minutes.. I never did get served. OK Football on tonight and they were busy but no excuses, Don't bother....really

Really great pizzas. They arrive hot and come loaded with toppings. Actually tasted like a pizza rather than cardboard you get these days. Give the underdogs a shot, forget dominos.

Love collecting from here via their app. Very speedy, great taste, reasonable price and friendly staff.

Watch out if you are Vegan! There is someone who works here who obviously in engaged in some kinda personal culture war on vegans. I ordered a vegan pizza a month ago that was supposed to be vegan, and had a couple of bits of pepperoni in it. And tonight I ordered a vegan pizza and it had one big bit of chicken in it. What a sad person who works there! I should probably stop ordering here and go somewhere reputable instead.

Two 11” pizzas for £21 This is collection only and a nice deal for takeaway pizza. Not many choices other than takeaway as only seating for waiting customers. Smaller pizzas are cheaper

I’ve gotta say I’ve really loved the pizza recently. They’ve definitely turned something around, fast delivery and it’s piping hot.

I ordered a pizza yesterday at 7 PM, and it was absolutely fantastic! The crust was perfect, crispy on the outside and doughy on the inside. The toppings were fresh and delicious. The service was excellent, and the delivery was on time. I highly recommend this place for amazing pizzas. I'II definitely be back for more 🔥

Brilliant experience, ordered a fairly large order and it all came within 30 minutes! It was that hot when it arrived I had to let it rest otherwise it would burn my mouth. Toppings were evenly distributed and were delicious. Papa Johns burgess hill has a thumbs up from me, would recommend.

Standard has been maintained since the re-location due to town re- development. Standard PJP menu but always excellent. Friendly staff. Parking nearby. Recommend The Works . Half/Half option is nice and never a problem Better than the other pizza takeaways/restaurants in the town.

Ordered online for collection. They took my money and gave order confirmation. When I arrived for collection at 8pm the shop was shut. No way to contact them. They don't answer the phone. Can't get our money back. Looks like the owners have given up and left

I would highly avoid this place... I got really bad food poisoning in the summer while I was pregnant I was so unwell that I had to go to hospital and be put on a drip.. the whole experience was so scary and upsetting... I wouldn't risk your health especially if you're carrying a baby!!!! Luckily We made a full recovery but it was just awful to go through....

Ordered before 4pm for 5:30pm delivery. Eventually turned up barely warm at 6:15pm. Simple awful.

Ordered in plenty of time. Arrived lukewarm 45 minutes late having been out for delivery for 45 minutes. Had oven on as due to lateness expected this::: but if we wanted to reheat pizzas there are probably cheaper ways to do it. No refund offered. Avoid at all costs.

Thieves. Took my money on the app. Called me to say I put the order in too late (fair enough). Said they would refund me. I'm £45 down. Terrible

Ordered twice from here since moving to Burgess Hill, both times have been the best Papa Johns we’ve had, quick delivery with polite driver. Will be ordering again.

Not sure why the reviews are so low? Just moved into the area - We have ordered twice in the space of a week and the food was perfect! Delivered quickly plus hot and tasted amazing. Will 100% be ordering from here again.

The food at this papa johns is just outstanding, and delivery is always quick. On top of this the staff are some of the best most hardworking people that I have met to date.

Delivery was quick and tasted delicious. Service has gotten much better and clearly under new management. Definitely give it another chance as my orders have been consistently amazing.

We were left waiting for just over two hours for our delivery to arrive. When we called to complain, the lady apologised and said it was on its way. Our order finally arrived, 15 minutes later at 10.00pm. We were offered £5 off our next delivery, however I don’t see us ordering from the Burgess Hill branch again.

Ordered a create your own pizza with four toppings. Arrived almost an hour later and looked more like a margarita pizza than a create your own. Phoned to complain. First they couldn't find the manager so had to call back ten minutes later. Said nothing he could do as they have been told to reduce the amount of toppings on all pizzas. THEN BE HONEST, UPDATE THE PICTURES ON THE WEB AND IN STORE. Full price for a XXL pizza is £31 plus £2 for delivery. Having been a regular customer for year this is the last straw. The manager even had the audacity to say some people just complain to try and get a free pizza. Pointed out that in the many years I've been ordering pizza I've never asked and never received a free pizza and he could look back at my account history to confirm.

Really awful, ordered 2 pizzas, 45 mins later it hadn't arrived but they've got my money already. Called the branch, rang and rang for more than 10 minutes, only to be told the driver was on his way to my home. I asked them how they knew that since I hadn't given them my address yet, he didn't have an answer. I was reassured the "system is having problems love" and it was on its way....did it ever arrive....nope. £20 no product. Outrageous

Having not ordered from here for almost 3 years we thought we would try again, but tonight has reminded me why why we stopped. Food took over an hour to arrive which on a Sunday evening at 8:30 I thought was a long time and when it arrived it wasn’t hot I am so fed up with poor service from this particular branch papa John’s really need to see what is happening here and sort things out, they only have to read the reviews to work out things are not right !!!! Maybe if they spent less time smoking cigarettes out the front of the shop and more time giving the correct service that papa johns expect then burgess hill would be a happier place !!!!

A strange Papa Johns branch this one, it is either amazing or awful, no inbetween. The vegan stuffed crust is amazing and when good the pizza is amazing. They don't appear to give two hoots about allergens and I routinely get dairy mistakingly or receive the wrong order. On the plus side they are very quick and liberal with compensation however the danger of being given an allergen by mistake will be enough to put a lot of people off these guys. I'd reccomend but expect delays, wrong orders and a lack of care towards allergens and the like - Be sure to review your order carefully before eating should you be vegan etc. or have allergens.

What a Scam!!!! We ordered 2 pizzas 1 pepperoni and one Hawaiian…. The pizza came in reasonable time and still hot! The pepperoni pizza looked fabulous and worth the money. The Hawaiian on the other hand was hugely disappointing!! Coming with a tonne of pineapple but NO HAM! I then called papa johns and they told me they were sending me out a new one ASAP with more ham. When this arrived I was shocked to see that there had been very little ham added and if anything the only difference was that it was slightly more burnt!! Was not impressed and not sure I’ll be returning due to this embarrassing situation which cost me £45!

We ordered a pizza and waited an hour and 45 mins for our pizza to be delive, we called them over 10 times and there was no answer so I ended up having to drive there to pick it up!! My order was just sat on the side! It was cold by the time I got it home!! Terrible service. I will never use them again!

went in just wanted a large pizza person at the counter tried to up sell me 2 pizzas kept telling him i wanted one very rude not helpful at all walked out went to BUDDYS LONDON ROAD GREAT PIZZA AND LOVELY STAFF !

Great pizza but utterly dreadful customer service. We ordered via the app 45 minutes before we were due to collect. On arrival the order wasn't ready. 5 minutes after the collection time we were told it was going to be "10 minutes". 15 minutes later we were told it was going to be "10 minutes". After challenging the member of staff it was clear she hadn't got a clue where our order was or how long it was going to take. When the order was finally ready (over half an hour late) they gave it to someone else without checking who they were giving it to! We then had to wait for the order to be redone from scratch. When complete we were given a litre bottle of Pepsi without explanation or an apology and not even asked what we may like to drink - it was full fat Pepsi or nothing. Scandalously bad service. Never again from this store; I'm going to Domino's just a bit up the road.

Probably the worst pizza I have ever eaten - bone dry and burnt. We called to complain and to ask for a refund but no empathy was shown. Instead, we were told to email customer services. When we spoke to the manager, he said that we had to drive back with our pizzas to prove it as he had checked them himself and said that it was fine (very poor quality control). We have had many pizzas from Papa Johns over the years and as a dairy allergy sufferer they have always been a really good option but to say that it is my fault that my pizza was dry because I didn’t have cheese on it is not acceptable and quite frankly rude. They showed no disregard to my allergy and I very much doubt that we would order from there again after receiving such poor customer service.

Awful place. Order took forever, ended up driving to the shop and at least 8 staff standing about. When food arrived was cold and the drink was warm! Wrong way round. Do not waste your money.

Very disappointing!!! Ordered 2 pizzas one vegetarian and another one with chicken. People which supposed to eat is vegetarian. That was very offensive to get pizza ,,vegetarian,, which chicken all over place. Sticker on received pizza box clearly states vegetarian only.Is staff unable to follow order instructions ? No wonder there is so many bad reviews. You should check orders before giving to customers. Order extra sauce didint get that either. If I place order I expect to get it right as prices quite high aswell. Called to store get offered new pizza which I would never anymore order or eat from this store . Mostly disappointing as my guests felt very uncomfortable when I put pizza box front of them and opened and there is chicken. Didn't thought that have to check before collecting as I thought staff know what they doing.Would not recommend this store. Not worth even one star.

Sadly ordered and the app picked up my old address, called them to tell them my new address and despite the person at the house it was delivered to saying it wasn't for them, they didn't bother to check.

I previously left a 1 star review due to long delivery times and poor quality. I have since ordered another 4-5 times from Papa John's and their delivery times have all been good and the food has been well prepared and good quality. Only niggle now is their dips aren't that nice and the drinks always arrive warm hence the 4 star but it is still becoming a favourite in the Burgess Hill area.

(Burgess Hill Branch) Customer service at it's polite worse. Placed an order online and forgot an item. Phoned up immediately to be told they would not add to my order and would not take an additional order over the phone because they were busy? Suggested I placed another order on the computer albeit I would not meet the minimum delivery. I guess Dominos for me next time. On the plus side, the pizza and delivery was good. Shame I did not have everything I needed.

Not sure if I would go there again.

Have been setting at Papa John's for god knows how long , my daughter is allergic to tomatoes so for the last 3 months been getting special order ,having the Tom puree removed and garlic sauce instead ,so called this evening and a really non enthusiast worker picked up and I asked for my order like normal but the staff member said they can't do that 🤣 so had to go elsewhere who will carter to our needs ,,

Completely redeemed from how bad it was earlier in the year, they've completely cleaned their act up. Everything was hot and delicious all staff friendly, on time and a credit to the franchise. Thank you guys.

This branch seems to have gone down hill lately. The last few orders have either had cold food or missing items.

We ordered food, (roughly/just under £50) online, ordered got confirmed, online banking confirmed they'd taken the money. Roughly an hour from when we ordered we call them for an update "its on its way". We wait 20-30 minutes. Nothing. We call them again, give the delivery address, "It should be on its way". Almost 2 hours after ordered and 2 hours later, nothing. We call a third time, we get told a friend asks for the food or a refund,"We're too busy, its a Saturday night and getting later now, we doubt you'll get your food tonight. And you won't be getting a refund either, we'll put on this account you get A free pizza next time you order." So this company thinks its alright to lie twice about food being delivered, then deliver no product, not give you your money back and give you a free item thats maybe 1/4 or 1/3 or what you originally paid. A friend called a FOURTH time and demanded the food or a refund, under fhe consumers right act. They tried to refuse, and just gave excuse after excuse after excuse. "The order never came through online". Then how did they have an order in fhe system and why were we told its on its way twice. "Well the delivery driver rang you 3 times and you didn't answer" Bull we had no missed calls. "Well the delivery driver tried to call, but your account has the wrong number." More bull we double checked before ordering that it was the right number. We honestly wouldn't have minded had they just said they'd honest made a mistake and missed our orderes somewhere and just given us a refund. Mistakes happen. But that was beyond unexcuseable.

I'm so SAD to be GIVING this review BUT tonight my EXPERIENCE with ordering over the PHONE was AWFUL !! I COULDN'T really UNDERSTAND the Person I SPOKE to & he DIDN'T seam to UNDERSTAND what I was TRYING to ORDER from THEIR own MENU !!!! So I GAVE up !!!

Burgess Hill's store... Delivery isn't too bad, HOWEVER, upon the delivery an item was missing so I phoned up the store.. "Oh, we can send you your missing item via a driver now or a free order next time?" -THIS IS A LIE (3rd time) - NEVER accept the "free next order" they honestly could and should be shut down for outright stealing your money. (You won't get a free order at all!!) So I obviously chose to have my missing item delivered after the person said yes that's fine... 20mins go by then the store phones me with someone else on the phone "Sorry we don't have any drivers our last one wouldn't get to you until probably after 11pm (closing time, this is at 10:15pm) - 15min drive at most. After he said they can only give me a" free next order" I mentioned the previous call and requested either a refund or a manager speak to me, "Ah, erm, well the manager is leaving now so I can give you his number or a free next order? After a bit of a squabble stating I want either my item, to speak to the manager or a refund all of a sudden it can be sent to me via a driver (funny right) so it then arrives at 11:15pm via an angry driver who parked in the middle of the road then sped off. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE BURGESS HILL STORE!! They are fine anywhere else I've been! The audacity to grab people's money is insane, would you pay for something you didn't receive and hasn't been sent? Definitely not.

Ordered 3 large pizzas and one vegan pizza. Was advised delivery would be 40 mins and arrived in 30. Delivered piping hot and delicious! Despite poor reviews of local branch service with lady on phone when ordering, delivery and food great! Vegan pizza great! Thank you!

AVOID BURGESS HILL STORE LIKE THE PLAGUE!! Really poor service. Ordered online at 5pm for 7pm delivery. 7:40 comes and call to be answered by the biggest drip of a girl who really couldn't give two farts to be told its in the oven and it'll be another 30 minutes. 1 hour later and I phone up to see what's happening to be told its being made... Really. I said I was told it was in the oven an hour ago and was passed to what I believe was a manager who apologised and said I would definitely have it in 30 minutes. I understand they're busy but at least tell people the pizza is delayed or stop taking orders via the website. It's not rocket science. Anyway pizzas turned up and one was completely wrong with bacon which the wife hates. Was offered a free medium. Pizza but I'll go to domino's from now on.

Awful. 2 hour wait for food to be delivered and then it turns up cold. Tried calling the store 21 times after an hour had passed without delivery and it rang off or said user busy every time. Big fan of Papa Johns pizza but will never order again!

Avoid this place! They can take hours to get to you, having to phone them numerous times to chase your order and you can clearly tell sometimes they haven’t even started your order after over an hour wait. The food is burnt, overcooked and/or soggy. They are not professional and you will waste your money if you buy from here. Just have a look at the other reviews to confirm that. They haven’t changed and don’t care. Stop ordering from them until they sort it out!

Good food, good deals, it's a shame the service itself doesn't match. There's been issues consistently when ordering from here, this will likely be the last time. Issues with the website, the delivery, the staff - there's always something. Having the issue is one thing, but the fact that they don't bother to communicate with you about the issue or make any attempt at resolving it is a whole other thing. On multiple occasions they've had something stopping them from delivering, whether it's lack of driver, lack of ingredients, website issues. But they'll still take payment, confirm your order and not bother to let you know you'll never see the pizza. Not until you call them, that is, only then will they let you know it's not coming. Even then they're unapologetic, don't seem to care and come across as rude. The times when your food does arrive; it's late, it's cold, it's usually incorrect or missing something from the order, the pizza isn't cut, toppings are thrown on as if they were blindfolded when making it. My last order was delivered to the wrong address. Don't get me wrong, the food tastes great. But literally every other thing let's it down. It's honestly not worth bothering with. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. 1 Star - for the good tasting food. Nothing else there makes it deserving of anything higher.

Incompetent staff, overpriced food.

I don’t leave bad reviews often, but I had to with this one. Absolutely horrific customer service, the staff was incredibly rude and incompetent. The food is barely average and overpriced. If there was an option for 0 stars, I’d be using that right now. I will never order from this place again.

A man from papa johns delivered a pizza to the wrong place, then his manager was dragging the poor employee to find the pizza three hours later (I hope the poor guy at least got the town right), made our house mate to pay and sweared a lot. A disgrace.

Sadly, giving zero stars is not possible. Unprofessional and rude manager dressed in black tracksuits turned up to request a pizza back that had been delivered 3 hours prior to the wrong address and verbally abused our friend for not wanting to pay for a pizza he had not ordered.

Dont know about other branches but the burgess hill one is terrible takes ages to arrive then if theres a problem with your order they leave it hour and a half before letting you know completely useless can see why they have bad reviews👎🏻👎🏻

After they moved to their new address, they have gone from bad to worse. I have ordered twice from them now and the third time was the charm. The first 2 times the pizza was reasonably cold and i'm pretty sure not 100% cheese. meat tasted funny the first time and the second time I swear the pizza base was mouldy. I normally book well in advance for a slot and they are always late, normally 10-20 minutes, but this last one was an hour late, stone cold, tasted awful. I called to complain, they just don't seem to care. They are rude and non-chalant and offered me a free pizza which I know is only redeemable instore ( i complained about a similar issue before thy closed the last store and moved, apparently under new management) so no good for takeaway. I will be going to Dominoes, although I would state when Papa johns is on it I think there pizzas are superior but I can really state that now as I wont be using them again

1.5 hours wait for a cold pizza, couldn't eat it so asked for a refund.... Got nowhere. A bunch of untrained teenagers and foreign delivery drivers who can't speak English. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY - DO NOT USE

Vegetarian pizza came late and covered in chicken. When we picked up a new one it had vegan cheese instead of regular cheese as asked for. Only compensation was burnt brownie.

they sometimes have very good online deals. Pizzas would taste better if they spread the toppings rather than just punting them in the middle!

I originally gave this place a 3-star review but based on a recent (and last ever) order this place deserves negative stars. On this occasion we waited nearly 2 hours for a stone cold inedible pizza and sides and in ludicrous display customer service failure, they refused to refund the order and their head office has ignored repeated emails. Safe to say we will NEVER use this branch ever again and would deter anyone else from placing a delivery order. It really does amaze me how a brand can let this franchise run a mock and provide such poor quality service and product. Original review: We order frequently and unfortunately the speed of delivery and accuracy of the order is becoming a running joke. Nearly every order has the dips missing, not the free garlic dip with the pizza, but the specific dips that we pay for in addition to everything else. Store staff are generally pleasant but one particular driver is so unpleasant it warranted a formal complaint to head office. Check your orders carefully and be persistent as they don't like to remake orders again...!

The worst take out in the world I recon.. the food came nearly 2 hours after I ordered it because the driver couldn't find the house then sent back the cold food that must have been cooked an hour and a half before at best and when I rang up to complain he told me.. 'it doesn't matter how hot the food is'. I asked for a refund and he say Uuugghhh NO! Whilst being very unprofessional and rude. NEVER EVER LINE THE POCKETS OF THESE JOKERS. Shame on you.. £26 in the bin!
