Pizza was good but not satisfied with the staff

My pizza arrived squashed and cold. The delivery driver couldn't even locate our location, despite there being specific instructions on the delivery notes and our location being on a main road!

The pizza was swimming in grease. Absolutely disgusting.

Had an issue with my order (item missing and toppings wrong on one of the pizzas) and no one is picking up the phone at the store so I can get it sorted, poor service

Don't order from this place, they take your money and you don't hear from them. I rang and they told me they don't deliver to my area and they won't refund £33 that I paid. They just kept telling me to ring head office. It's disgusting!!

Way better service than dominos

Stopped eating there after finding a solid particle in my pizza. No apology or explanation was given on returning it, and a refund was refused dispute the whole pizza was being returned. However, i was offered a replacement pizza, which i refused due to the solid unexampled dangerous(if swallowed) solid particle in the pervious one.

Good place for ordering online. Service could be faster.

We order from here regularly as a Friday night treat and the Pizzas are the best around. We usually have the vegan works with the marmite scrolls . Great vegan and veggie options and the food always arrives hot and quickly with their delivery service. Would definitely recommend.

Cold pizza and sides were delivered 2 hours after order. Complained but still no refund as promised.

Ordered first time in Papa John's they didn't disappoint. The Pizza was delivered on time and hot. Hope to order again. Read the reviews just after ordering and was worried how the quality would be. Our family enjoyed it. It was vegetarian, our experience was good.

Ordered Vegan and Gluten free Pizza. I opened it at home. There was a few sprinkles of cheese on there. But only if you really had a good look. I bought my own cheese to put on there. The Toppings were tasteless. I phoned them to complain. They said I could get a free pizza next time. I did phone another time to get the free pizza. They told me I wasnt on the system. Absolutely despicable service. We ordered for delivery and after THREE HOURS, we rang just to be shouted at the manager that we ordered for collection! We had proof we ordered for delivery but they didn’t want to know and we just got called profanity after profanity. Papa Johns refused to answer any of our emails and we only got our money back through PayPal. We were left very upset and angry.

ordered 1 large cheese and tomato regular crust, 1 medium pizza thin crust with 2 toppings. It arrived and both pizzas are same thinkness, this medium is NOT a thin crust what so ever, I ordered 1 large normal crust 1 medium thin crust and as you can see there both the same, there is no difference in size. Restaurant would not assist me, just advising me to send email which is completely rediculas to them for management to see tomorrow, no apology or anything...... Discusting

The staff are extremely rude. When I asked for a new pizza as mine was cold on deliveryI was told that the driver said it was warm, and that I was black listed. When I asked to speak to the manager I was told the manager didn't care. I asked for their name and they gave me a fake name and proceeded to hang up on me multiple times. This isn't the first time I've had a problem with this branch but the staff are completely incompetent and rude. I've written to head office and am awaiting a response. This "Adam" deserves to be fired, his customer service skills are appalling.

I think pizzas from papa are way healthier then the other ones around. Quick delivery too.

Delivery came quicker than expected - 25min early :) Pizza tastes amazing, the garlic butter dip is to die for. Only issue is that they could be a little more generous with the toppings - I'd definately go here again

Appears to be busy place. Customer service appalling. At the time the employee was under pressure preparing dough, answering phone calls which led to me waiting without acknowledgement of my presence. Felt extremely intimidated when taking my order. I was told to hurry up as he had too many things to deal with. Only ordered here as the offer on the window was good. Food rating is 2 star. Customer service is ZERO. I would only return here for the offer as long as it lasts and look through the staff member.

WORST PIZZA PLACE IN CARDIFF. Ordered a cheese and tomato pizza. The Pizza did not arrive for over an hour. When it did it had no cheese and was fully burnt. When we rang, the staff and the manager were very abbuaive and aggressive and tried blaming it on the delivery driver. I explained this has nothing to with the driver that yhe pizza is burnt. On contrary we were told we can complain to whoever we like, thwy are not bothered and will mot refund nor replace the pizza. Disgusting behaviour. AVOID ¡¡

If I could leave less than 1 star then I would. Took an hour an half to arrive called after an hour to be told "I'll call the driver to see where he is, if you don't hear from me in 5 minutes call me back incase I forget." 10 minutes passed called back This time I got through to a new liar, same conversation but this time told to "hold on while he called the driver" A few minutes pass of me listening to the other telephone ringing, and the police sirens going passed the shop. Strangely I could hear all this but no one speaking on another phone line (maybe they have developed some form of telepathy). Eventually he returned for me to be told "my driver says 5 minutes" still no apology for the long wait. 20 minutes later My food has now arrived and just how I like it, cold pizza and warm drinks, yummy. 5 unanswered phone calls and two tweets to papa John's still unable to raise a complaint. The papa johns guarantee only works when you answer the phone you sneaky buggers. Overall my advise to you would be to do the same as I will, never use this particular papa John's ever again.

Ordered pizza to our hotel which has off street parking in front of the reception...your delivery driver seemed to think I should go meet him on the street and pick up my food from his car like a low class drug dealer. When I insisted he meet me in the lobby he was very rude and obnoxious....this added to the fact my food was cold leads me to give you 1 star. Poor performance Papas

Really bad food. Starting for the website experience, to find the things is complicated... To pay is complicated. And you can't change some ingredients in the pizza? Why not? Its stupid. The pizza was not good, the garlic pizza too dry and the wedges potato also too dry. Really bad experience, Papa John's is not competence for Domino's Pizza. No more Papa Johns at my place anymore. I've been eating out from Papa John's for some time now and they have quickly become my go to place for a pizza as they are awesome, that special garlic sauce is something else too.

Haven't used this place for ages. The last time we had a delivery, they fudged it, then told us they couldn't correct it, then told us we'd have to speak to the manager. The fabled manager was never there for the three times we tried. For the sake of refusing to switch a pizza they'd messed up they lost a weekly/fortnightly order.

Tried ordering on line only excepting visa on line had to ring the store only to be told that offers are only on line so papa john's have lost another customer due to very poor options being available.

We always get our Papa John's from this store and it's always the best. Doesn't take long at all and we've even had drivers apology for the delay despite being lightning quick. We have had other Papa John's from different stores and it has not been anywhere near as good as here. Not too greasy or too much sauce.

Seems that the staff in this venue don't know that their pizza bases are vegan. They told my boyfriend multiple times that there were no vegan options. But the base, sauce, veg toppings, special sauce, and other dipping sauces are clearly stated to be vegan online. Maybe they need some more training? But it would definitely be worth confirming before arguing with a customer. In the end we went to a different chain to get our vegan pizza on.

Waited 1hr 20 for pizza. When it arrived was cold and the wrong toppings. When I called to get a refund I was sworn at and was told repeatedly that ii wasn't their fault. I ordered online, so I could confirm it wasn't my fault. Dissapointed as papa John's have great pizzas, when they are done properly.

We ordered at home and they did not take long to arrive, but surprisingly they were cold. Also the pizzas were bland. It is not worth the price they are worth.

If you are want a pizza delivered in Cardiff make sure IT'S NOT the City Road shop. On Friday 1st December at 9pm I ordered 2 pizzas and 2 sides online for delivery. At 10pm i phoned the shop to find out where my food was, a male, I found out later he's Romanian, asked my address twice and I told him twice. The driver will be there in 5 minutes, I then said if the food was cold I would be calling him back. About 10 minutes later I received a call from the driver and he said "you put down the wrong house number, so come out to my car to get my delivery". As I thought he food was cold, the chicken nuggets were mush and the cheese jalapenos were soggy. At 10.15 I called the shop again, same guy answered, I told him about the state of the food and he kept trying to fob me off with a free large pizza. I told him I don't care about the next order I'm waiting for the food on this order. Eventually he said "I will re-make your order and send it out, give the 1st order back to the driver". At 11.15 I called the shop again, again same guy answered and said food would be here shortly. At 11.15 the driver 'Mr Khan, a vey nice person' arrived. I told him the situation and that i didn't want the food he had as it would probably be cold again, he said try it and if its cold he would return it to the shop. The food was hot so i accepted it. Mr Khan told me that he's driving all over the city delivering food because the owner only ants money and he won't hire anymore cooking staff or extra drivers. He said food is going out late and not hot because of the "owners greed", my words not Mr Khans. When we inspected the food, the 1st pizza had too much cheese and hardly any toppings, the amount of cheese caused the middle of the base to be soggy and sickly, the 2nd pizza just had the topping thrown onto it and most hadn't cooked properly and the base was deep pan when I ordered thin & crispy. After over 2.5 hours I just gave up and my family had toast. I have been registered with Papa Johns for over a year and the address has never been a problem before as its built into my account. THIS SHOP NEEDS A NEW OWNER OR BEING SHUT DOWN. DO NOT ORDER FOOD IF IT'S COMING FROM THE CITY ROAD, CARDIFF BRANCH.

They have really wonderful pizza and a very nice staff. Since I bought first time pizza here(after a big disappointment at Frank and Benny's) they are my favorites and I know I will continue to take pizza only from Papa John's :)

First time having papa johns since working there 9 years ago. Not sure if management are following papa johns guidelines but there were 5 issues with the two Greek 15 inch I ordered and collected; 1) Portions of toppings were well off. About 20g only of feta cheese, barely half a fresh tomato and about half a papa chilli pepper on a 15 inch pizza is a joke. I'd expect double that, so I expect management maybe trying to increase profits in this branch. 2) pizza was cut into 22 slices for some absolutely bizarre reason? 3) toppings started around 4 inches from the edge of pizza, so a 15 inch had the same toppings area of a 12 inch dominoes. 4) only one garlic and herb dip (did the double dip deal), instead got 3 of the garlic butter style dips, which isn't the nicest dip tbh (pretty much just oil mixed with garlic and stabilisers and butter flavourings). 5) No pepperoncini pepper in the box (similar to those green mild chilli peppers you get with a kebab). Not sure if they've missed them out but this used to be a rather good and important trademark of papa johns take away. Pizza wasn't bad but the biggest issue was definitely down to topping portioning as about 40% of the pizza was a cheese and tomato... without much cheese or tomato. Other than that quite a tasty pizza with good quality fresh toppings. Might have been a one off, if not they'll never compete with dominoes or pizza hut, which they could if they sorted portioning.

Tried very politely to place an order but the employee did not speak English

I called Papa John's around 9pm tonight (2 hours before closing time) and ordered my food. I was told over the phone that delivery would take 1 hour and 30 minutes. 1 hour and 45 minutes later I called them back up again and asked where my pizza was. I was told the delivery was on its way. 25 minutes later, I strolled up to the shop and asked the guy at the counter why I wasn't receiving my delivery. There was just him and some other guy there. He rambled and said that they had "plenty of orders" around 9pm and had no recollection or confirmation that I had ordered food at all, despite the fact that I told him about how I had made my order over the phone. Incompetent and unreliable service which is a huge disappointment. I do not recommend this establishment. I strongly urge you to try elsewhere.

So I called up to order a pizza over the phone and the poor guy that was on the phones tonight said that the company had started a new trial scheme with late night deliveries but left him with only one driver. Before I even started my order he let me know that they only had one driver and that he was already in canton and then would have to go to the other side of cardiff before picking up another delivery before eventually making it back to the restaurant (probably an hour later) to pick up my order. The guy sounded distressed. Aftet working a late light and checking to see what takeaways would still be open in advance (seeing that papas was delivering u till 3) I think you should change your closing time. Cheers!!

I had previously pizzas from this restaurant but last time was the worst. We ordered two pizzas with side orders. Delivery was fast, pizza was fine hot as I started to chew on first bite I noticed blond hair. But we all make mistakes so I carried on but on third slice I didn't like the taste and I found few hairs melted into base- discussing! I had my money returned but won't order never from that restaurant again!
