I gave 1 star as it was the least I could give. Ordered 2 pizzas on BOGOF and only got 1….I would not have spent over £25 on 1 pizza if I could have 2??? Seriously…what a scam! Be very aware! Manager is so rude, what kind of company is this? The one pizza that did arrive was cold and poor quality too. I would stay clear of this disgrace of a company.

1.5 hours to deliver. Don’t answer the phone. Stone cold & inedible. Toppings awful quality and literally couldn’t see the cheese. Saving money on cheese by not putting any on the actual pizzas!?! I only ordered from here as my daughter wanted the potatoes but never again. Had to make other food as they couldn’t eat it. It was awful.

Over 2 hours waiting time. Stone cold when arrived. Phone constantly unanswered. Won't be ordering,ever again. Just terrible.

Ordered online via the app. I accept a Friday night will always be busy I don't not expect to wait nearly 2 hours for a delivery I rung on multiple occasions to cancel the order. Was told cancellation was not possible and no compensation offered Absolutely appalling Person who answered rhe phone was extremely rude

Avoid at all costs disgusting burnt, dry pizza and to top it off they duplicated my order and charged me twice 😡😡 still trying to get my refund!! Vile

Ordered a pizza but the cold soggy thing took 3 hours to arrive. I'd have been better off phoning my mum and asking her to make me a pizza and drive it up to me, and she lives in Liverpool. But it would have still got here quicker, would have the right toppings and would have been warmer. Plus she always answers the phone whenever you phone up unlike Papa John's who didn't answer once despite that being the only way way to cancel your order or get a refund for the disaster of a pizza that they spaffed out. Anyway here's a nice photo of some cute ducklings.

Placed an order through their website online at 10:31pm Friday night. Order was cancelled at 10:44pm. 24 hours later, no explanation or notification of refund. I have called the store 6 times, no one is answering! Why was my order cancelled? Why have you taken my money? Why haven’t I received notification of a refund?

80% of the time the pizzas arrive correct, hot and tasting good, sometimes they come just worse, like the wrong ingredients are used, and at the time of ordering I received the entirely wrong order, usually calling up has pleasant results, getting a free side on next order or something, but this time I have rung the branch 18 times without an answer, each call automatically ends after 2 minutes, 40 minutes have been wasted trying to get the food that I actually ordered, and I still haven't had a response.

Yes im going to compare it to dominos, I can tell you a dominos pizza is 1000 X better. Papa johns ones tasted barely of anything, it was greasy and just...not nice. Also I have been told several times that a staff members were caught f*ngering eachother so yeah...theres that.

I ordered a pizza for a 11.00 pm time slot ..10 ..15 mins late seems to be normal practice with you guys , Pizza was hot on delivery this time , but your delivery driver ..wow she didnt leave her name on box like other drivers do for feedback..i understand why hmm..wont be ordering from Papa Johns again..disgusted..duke street in future.!!

I called to complain that my pizza tasted like fart (NOT A JOKE) which is a shame as they have delivered decent pizzas in the past. I spoke to a manager (I am guessing) and when he asked what the problem was I told him the pizza tasted like egg and fart (hard to keep a straight face even now) and he said "they just taste like that, there is nothing we can do, we are closing now anyway" he confirmed twice that the pizzas just taste bad there and then he hung up. Noice.

Ordered a few times recently but they keep getting the orders wrong! I asked for chillies and chilli powder on mine, it came with neither yet my children’s came with the chilli powder on so they couldn’t eat it! How on earth does this happen when it’s an online order so it’s actually in black and white in front of them? The food is very good if and when they get it right but we think we’ll give it a miss for now as it’s at the upper end price wise so you’d expect far better service.

Odrered our pizza, no sign of it for over an hour, i rang the shop to get an update on delivery, the phone wasnt answered so i went to the store, i asked the person why the phone wasnt answered, he said the phone lines are down.... so i rang the number while i was in the shop, the phone then started ringing, i asked the person why he had lied to me about the phone lines being down, he the said, well im the only one in the shop, ok that may be the case, but please dont lie to your customers, after returning home our pizza turned up half hour later, it was freezing cold, wont be using papa johns again, i want a full refund.

Ordered 1 large pizza for my husband at 17.30 so he could have something to eat before heading off out to his second job. I was out so I ordered through the just eat app. I was told it would be delivered at 19.05 . My husband told me that it still hadn’t arrived at 19.30 and that he would need to leave for work. I then got a text to say the pizza would be another hour by which time my husband would be at work! I went to cancel the order and was only entitled to half my money back?!! Why?! The pizza was so good expensive, I was left fuming! From 17:30 to 20.30 is just ridiculous?!

1 hr 30 min wait for 2 pizzas and 2 sides. Called up after an hour of not receiving my order to be told it's ready but will take another 30 mins. Food finally arrived and it was luke warm. Wouldn't mind if it was cheap but it's not. Never ordering again and will definitely stick to Dominos in future!

After two awful experiences previous I decided to give it one more go after it became "under new management" and were offering massive discounts. Now I should point out that a large pizza is just short of £20 so there needs to be massive discounts. I ordered for collection and everything was ready when I collected...girl serving was nice....so far so good. I ordered large pizza and some roast chicken wings for my cats (I'm sad like that). Now my pizza was okay and nothing more...I would describe it as "that was alright" and god only knows what the garlic dip was...tasted like pure butter with a garlic hint (I found it disgusting in all honesty)..so I would have just given it 3 stars on the basis of this....but after stripping the meat off the chicken wings and giving to the cats....they were my best friend all night and they would have given five stars I'm sure....so we compromised with a four star review. The place still needs some work and the prices without the offers are shocking.

Ordered £40 worth of food online... came an hr later.. realised wasnt passed the 2.49 bottle of Pepsi.. tried shout to driver but hed gone.. rang the shop n was told itd be in car so shed have hime come back.Half hour later no sign so rang back and she says shes checked the cctv and the pop left the store so i must of def recieved it... I was baffled... said what do u think im doing lying over a drink... ive paid 2.49 for it so i either want it refunded or replacedShe then decides a manager was in the car with the driver and saw him pass it me... convenient ehAbsolutely raging. Its the principal of it if anything! Paid 2.50 for something not delievered but then accused of lying about it from a snotty worker on phone who refuses pass over to a manager.Wont be going there again

Ordered 3 XXL pizzas on a Saturday, before ordering the girl today me we was looking about an hour to an hour and half wait which I said was fine, pizzas came just after an hour; hot, looked and tasted great. I will be reordering lovely

We ordered two takeaway pizzas to be delivered. The whole ordering and checkout procedure is very smooth and versatile. Food arrived within the hour, and was red hot. Can’t fault taste as cooked to perfection!Only downside was it would be nice to know where your pizza is up to - something similar to the online tracker Pizza Hut and dominoes have would be good!We don’t eat takeout much anymore but would certainly recommend here as it was so quick and easy to use and order!

Ordered last night and there were issues with delivery but rang the shop and the staff made my food again and got it out to me quickly. Arrived hot and extra too. Thanks for getting it sorted

Absolutely disgraceful .woukd never go back . Some of the staff could do with a wash . Personal hygiene is a big issue . Food didn’t seem fresh . Quality in my opinion poor

Ordered pizza online at around 8pm which was paid for in advance by card. The pizzas never arrived. Attempted calling store but the phone just rang out.

We’ve ordered from here 3 times, every time it has taken more than an hour and every time the tracking feature says it’s arrived 30 minutes before it actually does.

Ordered pizza, 1 hour went by and nothing. Called and was assured it had just left the store, which was a lie because ANOTHER hour went by and still no food. It’s one thing having awful service but it’s another thing to lie to customers.

Placed an order online to collect. I got to the store around 30 mins after I'd placed the order and was told it'll be 10 minutes. Thought great, I can deal with that. Sat and waited for a total of an hour for my pizza and the best they could muster up was "sorry for the wait". Is that it?

Called to make an order to pick up. Only ordered two pizzas and the guy who answered the phone was so unhelpful. Kept ignoring everything I said. Had to say 4 times it was to be picked up to him replying with my address and it will be with me shortly..

I Worked at Papa johns in St Helens in July 2017 until August 2017 as a delivery driver.

I'm sad to say that I ordered from here on the backing of my daughter's recommendation. She said it was the best pizza ever and she goes there all the time....I shall tell you the conclusion to this later, and the "actual" truth behind this.

Ordered on 2 separate occasions. First one was hour and half late. 2nd one never came despite repeatedly chasing.

Ordered two large pizzas with cookie they forgot to put one pizza in so by time it was cooked rest of order was cold so got them to re do order after me and my family ate pizzas we all felt ill for next couple of days Papa johns is usually good but this place I'll never ever use again

We have just ordered a home delivery, I ordered garlic cheese sticks and as I opened the lid there was a massive black hair on the cheese it put me of eating it! Never again.

We were greeted by a really bubbly girl who was helpful with the offers. As I'm Vegetarian I ordered The Greek pizza. It was absolutely amazing! My boyfriend enjoyed a large The Mexican too. Sad to say there is no Papa John's by where we live but will definitely return to this one in St Helens .

I know you pay for this brand but it was worth the extra money tonight. Had my order delivered early, piping hot and delicious. Best pizza I've ever had!

We ordered our pizza at 10.15 the place is advertised 11,am to 11pm., Don't know how they can call themselves the best around ,, waste of time

Papa Johns....should be called Crapa Johns ..delivery was very late and the pizzas tasted like Crapa John had died and his final wish was to be made into a pizza...The only thing that impressed me was the fact my pet pig made his first refusal of food and considering hes ate a pack of AA batteries this goes to show how disgusting they was...oh and the special garlic sauce what was that...tasted like the cheapest melted margarine thats ever been recovered from a 2 week old skip.

First time we ordered from here a few months ago it was very good. Ordered earlier this week, the stuff crust was just tasteless, Pepperoni, tasteless, just like a supermarket pizza, what a waste of money, oh its not cheap either.

Order from here regularly and food started of fine but recently pizza has been cold. Just ordered over an hour ago and after waiting a while I phoned to see where the food was, it had been 'messed up' when it was sent out so it had been took back to the shop to be re done. Finally got to us an the pizza was cold and just didn't taste nice at all. The driver short changed us too. Won't be ordering again waste of money.

Won't be wasting money here again all I can say is don't bother it wasn't very nice. Dominoes for me all the way won't be making a mistake like this again.

Had pizza from here a couple of times now, there is a very large amount of pizzas to chose from to suit everyones taste, delivery is always on or around expect time and is always a great quality pizza.

This was the second time Papa John's pizza made my partner ill. The first time we thought it was just a coincidence, but after being ill after ordering the same pizza a second time, it undoubtedly was Papa John's fault. If you have to order from here, avoid the BBQ chicken pizza unless you want to be running to the toilet every half hour. And to top it all off - they got my pizza completely wrong, with missing ingredients and the wrong base, and charged us nearly £30 for the privilege. You're best saving your money and eating a piece of toast with tomato puree and cheese than ordering pizza from here.

The pizzas from Papa Johns in St Helens are the driest and most sparsely topped I have had anywhere, the Pizzas we had consisted of lots of dough and not a lot else

No matter what pizza we buy, it's always delicious, hot and tasty! It is always ready on time and the staff are friendly. Well recommended!

I hate leaving bad reviews and will often upgrade the rating if the staff have done a good job at setting the problem to rights but it is how we were treated by the manager of this outlet deserves no more than the 1 star its now getting.

Absolutely terrible customer service from owner. DO NOT ORDER as if you find a problem (ie unidentifiable object in pizza) he blames you!!! These things happen but do not expect to be blamed and accused in this manner. This is a company that rates itself on quality!!! My experience is quite the opposite. We all desire better - the response I received was is what you expect from a BACK STREET DIVE at 4am in the morning!! My answer to the owner is keep your replacement pizza if you think that is my intention - not worth the fight. Get it right first time. Would welcome a public response so customers understand what they are dealing with. You may also learn something! These mistakes happen but Dominos deal with these mistakes better.

The Food was excellent, couldn't fault it at all. They say you only get what you pay for and that may be right as papa johns pizzas will be the best and most expensive pizza you ever buy. I would use them more if only they were cheaper. Great food though!

Papa John's stuffed-crust XXL pizza just can't be beaten. Filled three of us on a Saturday night. Delicious!

When PJ's opened this year I convinced my Pizza hating hubby to try one from here, it was gorgeous and had a decent promo offer running. I converted my Hubby to the point that it was his favourite take-away option. After about 6 pizzas we started to have issues with quality and taste. The toppings were overcooked on one, the base was undercooked on another occasion and so on, another was tastless apart from salt.
