Always a good pizza here compared to the other big pizza chains, shame the branch is closing.

Shocking service recently. Cold pizza. Missing toppings. Glad you’re closing down. Poor staff, poor management. Endless negative comments that you have FAILED TO DEAL WITH.

Avoid! Avoid!! Avoid!!! There are always issues with this place! Thought we’d give them another try to see whether they could redeem themselves, however, I am beyond disappointed. Previously they have missed items or given wrong items to us. The order today was the final straw. It took 1 hour and 40 minutes from ordering to actually receive our order and when we did receive it only one of the five items was actually hot. This suggests a breach of food hygiene standards where items are left out for an extended amount of time before given to a customer. This is disgraceful for an order that was £43! It should not be up to the customer to reheat a delivery service’s food after only just receiving it. When trying to phone them to ask where our order was the phone was hung up before being answered several times. Once the delivery driver arrived he had not looked at the delivery instructions as to which house to deliver it to which in itself was yet but another hassle. When ordering a delivery service I don’t expect to have to chase the driver down the street to make sure that they deliver to the correct house. It is also small portions sizes for the price that you are paying. Will not be using again!

Pizza arrived 2 hours late, cold. Ice cream missing from order - called, promised to deliver - never showed up. This is an expensive waste of time - avoid this place at all costs, it’s terrible service.

Papa Johns was advertising 60% off pizza throughout January. We decided to take advantage of this. Placed an order and paid the 30+ quid the food amounted too. Went onto the "track your order" page only to be told that our order was cancelled and to Contact the shop. Upon contacting the shop and explaining our situation, the person on the phone asks for our address so they can locate our order. After a moment of silence they respond by saying "we've ran out of dough and can't make any pizza". Why was I asked for my address if the order couldn't be made? Why was the restaurant still accepting orders on their website if they were out of dough? Does a pizza restaurant run out of dough and stay open? To their credit, I was told I would be refunded in 3-5 working days and I have been. My original review was deleted. If 0 stars was an option I would give this experience 0 stars.

Ordered takeaway for delivery, it took 1½ hours to turn up. I called twice and first time they said its 10 minutes away, second time they couldn't find my order. It did turn up after 1½ hours, but cold! The guy on the other end of the phone did not care. Won't be ordering from them again, had this happen a few times before and keep thinking they've changed... they haven't

If I could put one star I would. Ordered vegan pizzas, only the next day realised that one has actual ham in it, and by no accident mind you! We discovered that ham pieces were on purpose literally hidden underneath every vegan pepperoni slice! How messed up that is to do it intentionally?? Disgusting and evil. Do you really hate vegans so much - the person who worked there on the 4th of Feb at 8-9pm? Grow up, so childish! Also, other things were messed up, such as missing toppings and the wrong sauces. Need to mention also that one of the pizzas was gluten free, which means it should arrive NOT sliced to avoid cross contamination by using the same knife as on a regular base pizzas, but there was one issue - the gluten free pizza was sliced already, meaning they probably cross contaminated it with wheat. Great! I have celiac disease, which means I cannot have gluten…!!!! Be careful Papa johns with messing up orders and having inconsiderate employees on purpose do malicious things to food cause it can literally be lethal, if someone has severe allergies to a specific ingredient and they end up consuming it without knowing. Because apparently you like to hide things in people’s food! Be careful, you might get yourself a lawsuit if the worst happens. You have such bad reviews everywhere for this Harrogate Papa Johns branch. Do you really not care about customers? We loved Papa Johns living elsewhere but now that we’ve moved to Harrogate it has completely been ruined for us. Management needs to step up and actually do their job and I don’t know maybe fire employees at fault.

SHOCKING SERVICE! Ordered a pizza that never arrived, no-one answered the phones whilst I was chasing up the delivery. Called the following day to be told only the manager could process a refund and they were not in until the following day, I was advised they'd ensure that was sorted out and it'd take a few days to be received. One week later....no refund received, call the store to be told refunds could only be processed online and not from store. No-where online to request refund other than customer services feedback form. Have left feedback, order number and e-mail...who knows if I'll ever receive a refund.

Ordered through the website, paid and then got a message to say our order has been cancelled. When we rang to find out why, they had ran out of dough?!! But they still happily took our money which we won't get back for 3-5 days. Daft place, don't bother.

Made a payment online then told order was cancelled. Ring the shop to find out they're "out of dough" and that I'll be refunded in 3-5 days. Why still showing as available on just eat? Don't order from here. They have no dough.

Last night I ordered a pizza from Papa Johns Harrogate. They strung us along for about 3 hours; the app saying it was being prepared, put in the oven etc. I tried to ring the Harrogate branch dozens of times. They picked up once and told me it would be with me in 30 mins. About 2 hours later the tracker said it had been delivered. It was not delivered. This was a lie. I was out with my wife celebrating her birthday in a nice restaurant and had to contend with the kids having not eaten and chasing it up all night. I eventually had to resort to ordering a Dominos whilst I was out. This thankfully was delivered promptly. Kind of ruined our evening and they have kept the money.

It’s been 105 minutes since ordering. Not answering phone, no way to cancel order. Absolute rubbish service and a ruined evening. Will be complaining and demanding full refund. AVOID. Edited: pizzas never arrived, even though delivery was stated on the website. Garbage service, untrustworthy employees.

Food late, wrong items delivered, second time we've struggled with their service, will not order from them again. Have been asked in the survey which dishes I recommend, it's pathetic food if there is no service.

Ordered a few times and each time the Papa Johns app says the food has been delivered and it arrives, cold, nearly 30 minutes later. We’ve contacted them to let them know on each occasion but the staff don’t appear to be interested and there’s always an offer of a “free pizza next time” which we’ve never received. On the third occasion, the member of staff on the phone refused to put my partner through to a manager/supervisor, later pretending she couldn’t hear him, hanging up the phone and now no one is answering. It’s a shame such a well known brand is being let down by poor customer service.

Been waiting for 2 hours for this pizza and never came , so I rang up and the women was rude to me and said she would resend it after 2 hours of waiting

Terrible service. Ordered via deliveroo, and the status was on ‘preparing’ for an hour. Called them up, only to have the call dropped after waiting ages for someone to come back and tell us what was going on. Had to cancel in the end. Don’t waste your time. I wouldn’t give any stars but it seems you have to give at least one on google review.

Stopped ordering from here entirely now. Despite being close to the restaurant delivery times have always been unusually long but recently it has become ridiculous. Last time we ordered it took over 2 hours to get the food to us, called 3 times asking where it was and told it was 5 mins away every time. Cold food arrived but we'd already given up and gone to the shops by the time it did. No apology, no refund.

Waited over 3 hours for it to turn up. They wouldn't answer the phone for over an hour. Finally turned up after 3 1/2 and I sent it back. Put in a complaint to there head office and am currently waiting for my refund.

Ordered at 5.30pm, it is now 7.30 and the food is still not there. Nobody is answering the phone. We called 7 TIMES. So, what are we supposed to do? Absolutely idiotic. Stealing peoples money basically.

Absolutely shocking customer experience. Ordered a pizza over the phone which was very difficult to begin with as one member of staff quite literally said I can’t order via the phone. Went to pick up the food after a load of trouble ordering and the manager having to call me back to take my order in the end. The pizza I ordered which was a BBQ chicken pizza, had no BBQ sauce at all. Called and asked for a refund. Was told I’d receive a call this evening, this hasn’t happened… I’ve just tried to call and have been the told manager is not available and has gone home for the evening. False promises, shocking food and abysmal service. If I could score 0 stars, I definitely would.

I don't know where to start with this review. We live in a 5 minute drive of the place but had to wait 35 minutes for the delivery guy to deliver all other orders and then deliver us stone cold pizza. On top of the pizza and sides being cold , the order was also wrong. One of the pizzas was missing two of the main toppings and one side was completly incorrect and the other had the wrong dip. It was the first time ordering and will definitely be the last. What a waste of money.

Pizza arrived very late and cold

Absolutely appalling service. Delivery arrived after 2 hours and half an hour after it was supposedly "with me". The pizza was luke warm at best. I'm usually a fan of papa John's but this branch is the worst I have experienced by far.

One of the worst delivery experiences of my life. Waited nearly an hour, food arrived wrong. Called up and got a very argumentative guy called Gill who tells me that the pizzas were right and that's just how they make them. I then list the plethora of ingredients on the pizza that weren't listed on the website before he finally agrees that they're incorrect. He offers me a refund or redelivery and I foolishly agree to redelivery. He tells me they're busy so it would take some time. Another hour goes by and I call for an update and I'm told the food would be with us in 15 minutes. It arrives, we open the box and they're incorrect again. I call back and speak to Gill who tells me that "this time I made them from the recipe". I tell him that the bases and the toppings don't match what's listed on the menu but he's adamant that they're correct. I ask for a refund as it's not nearly 2.5 hours since the original order went in, and Gill tells me I have to request my refund online. There is nowhere on the Paper Johns website to do this, so I inform Gill of that fact. He tells me they're unable to process a refund and the website is the only way to do it. I asked him to check the website himself and possibly help guide me to where s refund could be requested, and upon checking, he agrees there is nowhere to request said refund and the site actually asks you to contact the store. Unable to proceed, I'm not waiting on a call back from the manager (tomorrow) to attempt to arrange a refund. As for the food, the pizza was somehow simultaneously dry and greasy. Odd taste. One of the worst pizzas I've ever eaten. Would not order again. Pic was meant to be a cheese pizza...

Delivery took over 2 hours! Phone calls were initially left to ring out. When eventually able to speak to someone the eta delivery time were lies. When eventually delivered pizzas were luke warm and thin & crispy base was thick folderable dough. Worst service and product. Avoid.

Im not usually one for writing reviews, but this has brought out the beast in me. I placed a £100 order at 8:38pm and received it at 22:44, over 2 hours later. My distress at a lack of change in tracking status was met with roughly 7 ignored calls to the number provided and upon reaching a member of staff received a wholly inconsiderate and nonchalant response with absolutely zero apology. I have never experienced such dismal service from any establishment spanning all known industries. AVOID AT ALL COST - I cannot stress this enough.

Worst pizza I have ever had. "All the meats" pizza was burned because they forgot to put the cheese on. New person behind the counter could barely speak English. Will never buy from here again!

Shambles, over 90 minutes to deliver cold pizza. Absolutely not worth the premium price you pay. The order tracker showed our food was being cut and quality checked for over half an hour, basically should have said your food has been left going cold. Avoid and use local independents instead, would be 0 stars if possible

Overpriced. delivery unreliable, dubious amount of care in producing the pizza, threatening behaviour by staff in the store who act like crooks. Pizza has been cold 4/5 times won't be ordering from here as now over £20 per pizza, not even close to justifiable for poor quality pizza and jobsworth staff attitude.

Appalling service. Received some of our items. However all of the deserts were missing from the order when this was brought to the attention of the delivery driver I was told to ring the store. When I rang the store they promised Ithe missing items would e re-sent out. Rang after 30 minutes rang again after an hour to be told that they will be with us in 10 minutes. Another 20 minutes went only to receive desserts that were not the ones that we ordered to be told by the delivery driver the store should’ve discussed this with us. We had already asked for a refund on the desserts only to be told that this was not possible as we had paid online. When looking online there is no possible way to get a refund only a complaints page where you have to wait for somebody to contact you we have since been waiting for somebody to contact us to no avail poor service.

Order took 2 hours to arrive. I ordered and paid for 2 large pizzas and 2 starters. Both starters looked like they'd been pummeled to death by Mike Tyson. I recieved 1 large pizza and 1 medium - the pizza dough was uncooked and tasted DISGUSTING and I'm vegetarian but recieved a meat pizza? They also forgot my drinks? I rang back, the woman who answered didn't speak English, had to repeat my address 10 times, they promised they would re deliver a correct pizza and my drinks but they never showed up...

It used to be a good place to order pizza from up until a few months ago. Not sure if changed management but standards gone down big time and delivery time been taking over an hour for the past 3 times I've made an order (including wrong orders delivered). It's a real shame!

My order was over an hour late (over 2 hours from when I ordered it). It arrived lukewarm and wrong! No stuffed crust as paid for, wrong toppings and barely any toppings.

Food ordered at 1820. Food eventually delivered at 20:55. The food was cold and over cooked. Quite an achievement. Staff were phoned 4 times and each time we were told it’s on its way. No apology from restaurant. No apology from delivery driver. After delivery they would not answer the phone. Don’t use this pizza restaurant unless your thing is ice cold overcooked pizza.

Having used Papa John's in the States for over ten years, we are very well aware of the high quality of their food. These are franchise stores however, and it is blatantly obvious that the owner here short changes on toppings. The pizzas are very scarce on these toppings especially meats ..... Four tiny pieces of beef on a large pizza?? Very poor. Unless you are desperate, buy a pizza from the supermarket where you will get a much cheaper and higher quality version. These are utterly shameful. Papa John's should be removing this owner's franchise.

Very disappointed. Followed the progress of my pizza on the tracking. The pizza came out of the oven at 19:12 it was only at 19:53 that it was allocated a driver for delivery. It will arrive over an hour after it was ordered and over 45 minutes after it came out of the oven. Absolute rubbish service. Can’t wait to to enjoy my lovely fresh pizza !!!!!!

Marlies review earlier this year sums these cowboys up! We have had mostly poor/average pizza,s and food delivered by Papa John,s Harrogate.Every now and then if you're very lucky but only on a quiet night! Not on a weekend you may get a decent meal! Lol! As Marlies said,I dont know HOW These people are still in business!! We had a Horrendous meal delivered the other night,and with 40 percent discount it was still Day Light Robbery at £19! Overcooked dry no taste total rubbish! And when you call in at stonefall avenue to complain they don't even seem to understand English! After the last order in February we were not sure whether to order again but we did and were amazed by the very quick delivery of 25 minutes from calling them and all of the order was hot.Great tasting.Make sure you always get a discount or deal!.

We ordered and paid online on Friday the 19th February 2021,a deal where you spend over £30 but get £15 off.A large pizza,a portion of chicken bites and a cookie cake thing.1 hour later we rang again then 15 minutes later we rang again.The order was delivered after 90 minutes total,the delivery driver apologised but the whole order was cold.Plus let me WARN you! Dont give Papa John's your email address!! You'll get emails constantly even when you unsuscribe!!

We placed an order for a large number of pizzas for a work lunch. Due to the timing, we were concerned about the delivery not arriving in time. Much to our delight, the pizzas were actually delivered early, exactly as ordered and piping hot. The overall customer service was excellent--I had forgotten to collect the receipt, and the staff made every effort to ensure that I got it. And it was an excellent value for the money! We absolutely plan to place future orders.

I ordered a delivery of chicken bites. They were so awful even my dog wouldn’t touch them. The delivery driver spoke unintelligibly and I was charged £6.50 extra for it being ‘a small order’. I order through deliveroo and pay monthly delivery fees but this ordered was delivered by the restaurant itself. Outrageous. I got the amount I paid for the food refunded by Deliveroo but the £6.50 not refunded.

The pizzas are to die for, always offers on but tend to order far too much lol. Cinnamon pull aparts are to die for. The half and half pizza option means you can try two pizzas at once, with the amount of choice this helps

Always wanted to try it, but Dominos is closer to home. The all round service was good - ease of ordering, speed of delivery, lovely delivery driver and cost. But the food was disappointing. We had 3 pizzas, garlic bread and wedges. None of which tasted quite like what we expected, or are used to. Not sure what it was. The family came up with 2 main reasons - the cheese or the dough. Anyway, we won't be back. And will stick with what we know.

You here of good pizza places, Papa John's is one of them.... Having always wanted to try it, found one in Harrogate, North Yorkshire..... Saw an offer on social media where you get 50% discount when you spend over £15. The delivery was quick, the pizza pipping hot, considering the distance it travelled, the food was still crispy base, not soggy due to steaming inside a pizza box.... credit to the shop for speedy delivery..... will be using again, I prefer this to Domino's so see ya later Dom's

When this place first opened, it was great food but expensive. Now with a change of owner/management, it's still expensive but not so great food...

The online menu was very extensive with a confusing number of conflicting offers. We could not place our order online so family members sent to get the food. Once there the same online offers seemed unavailable in person. However the meal was prepared quickly and all items were very tasty. First time we had tried this chain - as the Shop is a fair way from where we live we are unlikely to use this again as equally nice Pizza places are closer. Even the ones in the town center are nearer and I think better than this place. Ok I suppose if you live that side of Harrogate.

Takeaways get a tough ride on TripAdvisor because people are far more likely to leave complaints rather than compliments.PJ's Harrogate meets the same standards as any other branch (the food's the same everywhere), I happen to like their pizza but it's personal preference. I've ordered many, many times since they opened and while they sometimes make the odd mistake they always make things right. The last few drivers have been really friendly (it's not always an easy job).I would never pay full price but some of their deals can be great, especially the 50% off £40+ orders!

We had no problem choosing gluten free and dairy free food from the extensive menu. The service was excellent and the waiter friendly and helpful. Would recommend this retaurant to anyone.

Worst takeaway ever! Placed the order via their website and asked for it to be delivered ASAP. 1 hour past and no pizza. Call them asking where it was and got told it had been delayed. Another hour past and it was finally delivered. To make matters worse, the pizza wasn't even worth the 2 hour wait! Very disappointed!

Out of the big pizza chains Pap John's is my favourite by far, everything about the pizza's is better than most, I really like the selection of pizza's good as well.

First order from papa johns starbeck branch. We ordered a pepperoni pizza with cheese and a meaty pizza without cheese costing 17.99 when the order arrived the meaty pizza looked like dog food almost like little kibble shapes it was dry and not much Topping. We as a family don't order take very often and is a real treat when we do ,I am so disappointed with the staffs reaction when I rang to say I was unhappy the man who answered was rude and very unhelpful we will not be ordering again from here.

Myself and my husband went there for the first time last night and it was great the gentleman who served us was very helpful and friendly and when we got the food home it was absolutely delicious . We paid £19.99 for a large vege pizza and a large meat one with two sides and I felt that was reasonable for the product we got. We will definitely be coming back.

I persevered with papa johns because the pizzas are great when they are warm and delivered on time. The staff often get things wrong. I finally gave up after waiting for an hour and a half one day. We used to order the pizza then put the oven on to heat it up. I have complained to starbeck but they don't seem to care. I then called head office and was put through to customer services who got in a strop and put the phone down on me! I called back and explained to the receptionist what happened, she was horrified as I was really calm, she said she. Would get head of customer service to call me but he never did! Rubbish

This was my second visit to this pizza shop.The first time the pizzas werent too bad but be warned its Very Expensive!!the staff are very rude!the girl who served us had a pierced tongue and was very cocky.our pizza was very sloppy the topping slid off.we had eaten about 4 slices of it and took it back 75 mins after collecting it,she said under their rules theres an hour limit to return pizzas and you cant eat more than 2 slices.(where are these rules)?
