Papa Frites in Leicester

I went with my family and tried chicken burger, chicken crispy wrap, chicken barbecue wrap, and chips. Too much sauce on all sandwiches, I think they used all types of sauce on every sandwich. We didn't like how they made chips as well. None of the food was eaten, and the whole family got severe gastritis. I wouldn't recommend it.

The food was sooo delicious and awesome. Probably the Papa's original burger is highly recommended in chicken

Waited 45 minutes for a cone of the chips. Asked what the crack was she said few minutes, 25 minutes later they rock up. We was only ones in there, unbelievable. Women behind the counter needs a rocket up her back side. I’ve seen 3 legged tortoises move quicker than them lot in there.

The food was amazing jerk chicken was slightly over peppered beef bacon burgers were cooked with perfection with a mouth watering finish the Angus beef smashed chilli loaded was amazing had a really nice kick with a perfect after taste

Good food, good spices tried their crispy chicken bites, very juicy I must say😋. Will definitely try more things from the menu 👍🏽.

Me and my sister had just missed our train and we both got the hot chicken burger. It was so nice. The owner was so lovely and gave us some loaded fries free of charge. Definitely recommend ❤ lovely food, lovely people

Some of the worst takeaway food I've tried in Leicester. Honey glaze tenders were swimming in thick sickly liquid that filled up half the tub and almost inedible, chicken burger was bland and with very old wilted lettuce. Fries were dry and cold despite eating straight after pickup. Very poor.

Always on the look out for a good loaded fries meal. This place is great. Was surprised at the portion size….definitely one of the most generous around town. Prices are good not more expensive rather cheaper than other places. The food itself was also good. Well flavoured chicken. The potatoes used were nice, looks like they were freshly cut there as they were not the standard frozen fries. Staff was friendly and helpful too.

Tried the angus beef chilli loaded fries, good size portion, struggled to finish it and i can eat good. Beef was good, sauces are nice. Staff is good here, happy and smiling. Update: 02/11/22 My first visit, the above review was good. Been 5/6 times more and the quality of the food has gone downhill real quick, fries not seasoned properly, missing cheese sauce, chicken on loaded fries is less every visit. Wont be returning.

Really good food and good value for money. I got the beef loaded fries and was impressed by the taste and portion size. Could easily have the leftovers as a snack later on. Will definitely go back.

I went on holiday for 2 weeks and all I could think of was chicken burger fries. As soon as I was back in Leicester, I paid a visit. Staff was friendly, and the food was made very quickly. It was still steaming hot after a 5-10 min walk home. The food tasted amazing, loved every bite - makes me feel a little better that my holiday is over

Visited this shop for the first time,i had not well experience as i taught it is! The Chicken is juicy delicious, oh my days! when i open the bag where's Fries loaded, it was very bad, burnt may b couple of time they cooked the same chips.the taste was out of this normal chips😐

This has been taken over by new owners. We went there for lunch and I ordered the buffalo chicken loaded fries. Oh Boi this thing is spicy 🔥🌶️ not for the faint. Massive generous portions and prices that don't break your wallet. Really fresh and tasty fries 🍟 I even ordered the Papa flaming beef burger and guess what it's amazing and you get two Patties for a £5! A big thank you and Jazakallah to the brother who gave my son free fries. Definitely recommend to try won't be disappointed.

The loaded chips are here are delicious and fresh. The portion size is very big so good place to go with friends and family.

Honestly have no idea how some people even like this place, thought it would be good after reading the positive sides of the review on here, I have ordered through Uber eats to try it out (ordered the loaded fries with slow pulled chicken and the Halloumi wrap) fries were undercooked!! The chicken tasted tasteless, halloumi wrap tasted slightly ok. Over all the food was cold I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Customer service was solid, person at the counter friendly and engaging with customers. Milkshakes are made from American machinery, and the pepper chicken was good. Would recommend going with mates and family. Very promising and very interesting loaded chips menu. Inspired to own a business one day and encouraging to see young people have a really good rapport with customers, will definitely go soon. Chicken was very nice, the sauce was juicy and the chips were wholesome. Prices were reasonable. Will be going again. £6 for loaded chips with chicken and sauces, very good.

I love the food ! Everything is always super fresh , the Burger buns are a dream , they are super fluffy ! Staff are always friendly and open for new ideas . Go on like that guys <3

**NEW OWNER AND MENU SINCE RECENTLY** Super fresh ingredients, Halal, cheap, friendly staff New menu is absolutely fresh, the buns are made the same day from fresh ingredients, not from a franchised bakery and not delivered frozen. As a Dutch man I appreciate fresh bread, and I have noticed truly fresh bread is not available in the UK. I was pleasantly surprised with their fresh buns and the fresh taste of their 100% beef patties which also tasted non-frozen. I am really happy with their burgers, honestly my favorite restaurant to get a fresh and tasty burger.

Visited this little shop for the first time, order a Angus loaded fries. Sounded very interesting. Not sure what I was going to get, paid a fiver for it. Oh my days, when I opened it back at work it was really delicious. Fries loaded with Mince meat and spicy, the taste was out of this world. I would highly recommend this place and this item to anyone who is undecided, it is so filling, the m sure you will not be disappointed.

Friendly staff & great chips! Staff were considerate enough to ask for honest feedback on their menu & after we advised them of limited vegetarian options, they were receptive to the feedback & advised of the upcoming veggie options!

The food was good and the fries are tasty but it’s not good value for money. The patties in the Angus burgers are small.

I really enjoyed the chicken loaded fries. Delicious and highly recommended. Friendly service with a smile and prompt. I would deffo go now as they get busier. Might try the Angus beef doner loaded fries next time.

Fancied a late night snack at 1am, we had two burgers that were delicious and loaded fries did the job!

NEW OWNERS AND NEW MANAGEMENT! ONE WORD to describe the burgers and fries... Delicious 😋 It's Halal and there is Seating spaces inside! I went to Papa Frites leicester with my husband and mum and we tried 3 different burgers , loaded donner fries and had 3 drinks which included the strawberry milkshake HONESTLY I CAN'T FAULT IT! The Angus beef burgers were incredible along with the chicken burger. The seasoned fries come spicy or lemon / herb . The donner is actual meat not all that processed stuff. The price is reasonable for 3 meals and 3 drinks, it was £30. It is in line with competitive prices considering the surrounding take away and burger places such as boo burger, German donner, chickanos etc. This is definitely worth it and the best place for gourmet smash burgers and home made fresh fries.

Ordered a large Cone (£4.50) with large Chicken Bites (£2.00) with BBQ Sauce. I was asked if I wanted the sauce mixed, big mistake - The chips were absolutely ruined with huge dollops of sickeningly sweet BBQ sauce. Only got six small fried bits of chicken as well. Cheese costs extra, and at £6.50 I was already feeling like I was being mugged... I could not finish the meal due to how disgusting the chips were. You're paying top money, and the chips themselves are mediocre at best. If you do feel the need to try this place, dont get your sauce mixed as they dont ratio it properly. Overall, a huge dissapointment - would not reccommend it at all.

Fantastic chips. .. I would recommend 200 out of 100... And the Belgium andalouse is fantastic.... Price worthy, good quantity and quality and staff are polite.... Please visit PAPA FRITES when you are in the city. 😊❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

fries here were delicioussssss - definitely get spring onion as a topping because it cuts the sicklyness of fries and makes it refreshing. sooo tasty and even though they are expensive, theyre a good snack / meal and easy distance from the train station before long journeys home

Been here a few times good food good prices and most of all good service. Polish lad who works there is very helpful and friendly. 10 out of 10.

If I could give them less I would because their workers are awful with their service, absolutely untrained. With customers waiting in store waiting for long periods to order they still take precedence to phone calls. No idea of the products they are serving and absolutely inconsiderate. Maybe you don't care about one customer but I have taken it personally to ensure this is made known.

Food is very tasty, but the wait to get them was a little long. Portion sizes are great!

Very budget chips and tasteless even with all the red I will attach on photo most the chips very stale I can see why they had a 50% off wouldn’t pay no more than £2 for a box like that it’s not nice I would avoid and get them to get better quality chips more saucy and presentable

I would give it 3.5 stars- some flavours where nice for example the chilli mayo was really really nice. It's not as saucy as awesome chips, so if you like saucy chips go to awesome chips but this place has different variety of other flavours which is worth a try

Salaams first time I had these chips today Alhamdulillah so nice way better than awesome chips down the road! I had chilli powder, vinegar and Vegan mayo! Ma Shaa Allah these lads are doing an amazing job! 🙏🏽

Friendly staff and great variety of choice. Even offer to top your chips with sauce or to mix it through them! I had the chicken bites and chips with garlic and herb sauce. Delicious! Chicken bites have a little tinge of spice to them, very tasty!

Wasn't really the best quality. I was expecting a competitor to Awesome Chips, but the crunch wasn't there. Not a lot of cheese, and fish bites were average.

This place is just behind my office where i work and the food here is amazingg!! They have such a nice variety of sauces and it tastes really good. Would defo recommend visiting. My favourite is the bombay mix :)

Chips dry, hard and horrible. Fish bites microwaved without care, stone cold in the centre, let’s hope it’s pre cooked. Staff couldn’t be bothered, left a horrible taste.

I took my family to Papa Frites today. We all had lovely crispy chips with different sauces and toppings and they were all delicious! ! I had the chicken bites with tangy mustard sauce, wow!! One of my kids had chips with chocolate sauce, and that was delicious too!😆 great value for money.

Ordered a couple of medium cones today - peri peri with cheese and Belgian Andalus. Chips were great and impressed with Belgian Andalus. However, I think the cheese could have tasted better had it been mixed in to the chips rather than added on top. Further, had they grated the cheese as opposed to using pre grated cheese then that would have been better.

Wow, great chips crispy and fluffy and vast array of available sauces and toppings. Would recommend the chicken nuggets and the fish bites which were a hit especially with the kids!

This is my second time I have been to Papa Frites and I can definitely say that there I will be going there a third time too. The chips were delicious where they were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I would recommend getting the fish and chicken bites too as they went down a treat with the family. With such a huge selection of sauces and the chips beings soooooooo yummy I can see me being a regular at this place. Big thumbs up from me.

Papa Frites have a good selection of sauces and toppings to choose from. Ordered the medium cone with tartar sauce mixed in and fish bites. The chips were perfect. I was really pleased that the chips did not get soggy. The fish bites were really tasty - definitely recommend. Ordering was very easy and will definitely be visiting again to try the other sauces!
