Popped in here with the family & grankids on a fresh & windy day, my wife & I had cheeseburger & chips + a cup of tea. the family= two adults & 3 grand kids had the same meals & we all were well satisfied. staff were really friendly & helpful. chips were lovely.

first time visiting here while on holiday at whitley bay caravan park and absolutely amazing & the best hot chocolate ive tasted

We always buy our chippy teas here. The portions are so big I get myself a child's cod bite and chips. They are always freshly cooked and delicious. They have recently started doing breakfast butties. I ordered 3 ultimate butties and a sausage and egg one. They were lovely and just as big as their chip shop portion. I couldn't eat all of mine, but what I had cured my hangover

Delicious breakfast sandwiches to take to the beach on a sunny morning. Ordered bacon & added an egg, hash brown & halloumi. Wrapped in foil to retain the heat, perfect with a flask of tea.

Had the Ultimate breakfast sandwich on Sunday morning. Stottie full of bacon, sausage, egg & hash brown. Great place to grab a bite to eat and head to the beach.

Fish and chip shop basic to have “chippy chips” - freshly cut not frozen oven Iceland steak greasy chips. Do not order large fish Fish you will get a Nemo sized fish - over priced. Vinegar also watered down ? 1 grain of salt served with chips

I won a breakfast sandwich on social media and went for the ‘ultimate’ which was delicious. Whilst there picked up butties for the rest of the family and the bacon was cooked crispy as they like it. Will be back

Fantastic gluten free fish and chips cooked in separate fryers and great labelling on the packaging. Staff (especially Paula) very helpful and knowledgeable about gf when ordering! Highly recommend!

Such a great deal, adult sausage /chips and 2 kids sausage/chips with choice of two huge sauces, all for £13.50. Great food and fresh thank you 👌

The batter was soggy, the fish itself didn't have much flavour, and the chips tasted like they'd been reheated from the day before - stale and tough.

Awful! Went straight in the bin, couldn’t even eat it. £35 for 2 fish & chips you would expect them to be good quality or at the least edible. They had clearly been cooked and reused from days before

Dingy decor, high prices for a cardboard box and inedible fish and chips! I paid £15 for cod bites and chips and a cup of tea. When it arrived it was in the same box as the type used for takeout but you get the same thing even though you’re paying extra to eat inside. Anywhere else you would at least have a proper plate. The chips were overcooked and hard and the fish batter was the same. As someone who has worked in a fish shop I was surprised at the poor quality for the price. I couldn’t eat it and definitely wouldn’t recommend it especially when there are other better quality establishments in Whitley Bay.

Food was shocking very small portion for the price chips were dry fish was mostly batter and there attitude to my friend was shocking 5 staff on not one of em got a clue never going bk way overpriced

Found the service and food sum-what lacking.

Absolute rip off. Portion sizes are ridiculous for what you pay for. £21 for 2 meals (if you can call them that) and 2 cans of pop. Food was flavourless, I got a fish cake and it was shameful.

Overpriced food. Got a large fish and chips. The fish was greasy and the chips were basically oven chips. It had no flavour or taste at all. Also no toilet facilities available, due to them being out of order.

Favourite place to go for fish and chips. Nice chunky bit of cod with a good amount of chips, service was fast and the staff are polite.

The food was greasy, the chips were oven chips. The service was disgusting and rude. Shouldn’t be working in a job where you have to speak to customers if you’re going to talk to them like we are annoying you. And 6 tiny chicken nuggets with oven chips cost £7.

Great service with a smile and really good fish and chips my only fault is the price but I'd still say 5 stars as there are offers on the board and meal deals etc, really lovely place!

Food overpriced for the quality of it and me, my partner and two sons all fell ill just hours after eating there.

Been here since I was a kid, over 30yrs, but unfortunately it’s gone really downhill since change of ownership and logo rebranding. Rude staff, no service, fish smelt bad, greasy chips and family business atmosphere is gone. Sad but we won’t be back

The fish is always clean tasting, not greasy, the batter is crisp and doesn’t leave an oily taste or sensation, chips crunch like they should and throw in some mushys and curry! BANGIN!!!!

Decent Fish & Chips, but way overpriced. Has won several awards, but I certainly don't think it's the best chippy I've been to. £14.50 for an average F&C is definitely too much money.

Staff friendly. Freshly cooked fish and chips while we waited. Enormous fish and lovely and white inside, not dry. Loads of chips we couldn’t eat them all.

Absolutely dreadful. The woman that served us didnt crack a smile or make you feel very welcome at all.Waiting upstairs for them bring order. After 25 minutes dumped food on dirty table. Chips were rock hard n barely edible. Fish was nice but very thin. No chunky bit. Like a cod fillet had been halfed for 2 or more portions. Restaurant dull n lifeless with no atmosphere, warm or music. Not cheap either. Such a shame, this could be a thriving little business for someone that cared just a little.

Awful food - I'm pretty sure the chips were oven chips that had been deep fried. In any case, I was lucky to have not cracked a tooth. The fish was better, but even then it was average. The staff were rude and looked like they would rather be anywhere else... Definitely do not recommend and won't be returning.

Second time ordering, both times fish and chips. They were delicious. The haddock especially.

This used to be the best fish and chipshop in the north east of England. Since they have changed and closed the dining end they are absolutely atrocious. The staff are shockingly bad. It took 20 minutes to get Smokey sausage and chips with burger and chips. When asked the first said no clue and the second just said we’re busy and that was it. They guy how started this award winning restaurant would be ashamed of how bad it has become.

Lovely fish and chips, easy to find and great service.

Changes since last visit. Food served in cardboard tray no plates, tea in a paper cup, can't put your own milk and sugar in. Hardly any tables now and very drab interior. Probably won't go back again. Fish and chips were ok, peas were full of black specs, . Whole place completely spoilt

I went in the most rudest woman said 2 mins. Then 5 minutes pass a lovely blond woman serves me. Then we ask can we sit in the sour faced one. Yes but not upstairs. That's fine... we then sit down, she brings the food over, then says come to counter for a folk. Then once finishing the most incredible sausage and chips and curry. She said can you take your box outside and put them in the bin.... Then my friend asked could she use the toilet... you'd think she just killed her cat the attitude on the reply... Your absolutely lucky the food is Folking great and the blond one was polite. Cause that sour face witch would have put me off coming again...

Me and my wife decided to sit in upstairs and we ordered a cod supper and a smoked sausage supper and when they came firstly they got my order wrong giving me a pie and chips then a few minutes later my fish and chips came. The chips were very bland and tasteless and very crispy and we had to clear all our dishes and cutlery ourselves. We have been to Pantrinis every time we were visiting from Edinburgh and it was excellent over the years but now it's not so good it's a real shame we will definitely not be going back again.

It our Friday treat love them more so now I get them delivered

Lovely chippy and the food is amazing. Took the kids down the beach then they wanted chips and we all got sausage and chips with curry and it was all gluten free as my daughter is Celiac. There was 3 kids an 2adults and we all got fed for £12 pound and we were all full with a few chips leftover. This is one of the best chip shops in the noth east can't recommend it enough Especially for the Gluten Free option and you will find it hard to beat to fill a family of 5 for £12 pound .

Place very busy due to being firework night, got served very quickly and got food brought to our table very quickly, only down side was the chips were over greasy and very chewy?!

Best fish and chips in Whitley bay

Can honestly say this is the worst chippy I've ever had and very overpriced given the quality! Chips were hard and bland, gravy just tasted powdery. Fish was like cheap supermarket frozen fish. Don't know what oil they fry in but doesn't taste like a proper chippy at all...never again!

So expensive justeat would be much cheaper to just order by phone justeat is shocking!!!

Most disappointed, for the last 10 years or more we have thoroughly enjoyed our meals here but today sad to say very disappointed, paper plates and mug no bread and butter not good service at all
