Pantrinis Fish & Chips in North Tyneside

Just popped in with my partner for fish and chips and it was beautiful. Well worth the price, great sized portions and very tasty. I had the Regular Cod and Chips and my partner had the Large Cod and Chips. Both thoroughly enjoyed. Highly Recommend :-)

Really nice fish and chips, tasted amazing, staff were very friendly. Can't understand why people are saying it's overpriced. We got quite a large order and it came to £20, I don't think you could get better value at many other places. Location was very nice , not far from the beach and other amenities. Would reccomend.

The name has recently changed to Babs' Plaice, the staff are always so friendly and the fish and chips are superb! The salt and chilli chips are amazing aswell!! Highly reccommend this chippy.

The chips I received this evening were lovely, the spicey curry sauce was amazing. Absolutely no fault and the young brown haired lady p, looked in her late teens was lovely and very friendly. 100% recommended

Called with my family. Not the nicest looking place but apart from that the service wasn't great or that friendly. Also the wait was unacceptably long. The food was fine but very expensive.

Visited here because it looked the best fish and chip shop in the row. We were not disappointed. We had to find a table upstairs because there was no seating available downstairs which shows the popularity of the place. However if you have any mobility issues then downstairs seating is obviously better suited for you. Orders are taken at the till where the drinks promptly arrived about 10 minutes before the meal. However the meal arrived shortly afterwards and have to say the chips were absolutely beautiful and one of the nicest I have ever tasted. A meal for two with a pot of tea for two was around £18 which I consider excellent value. Will definitely be returning when next in Whitley Bay

We were a party of 11 and did not order in advance, the service was impeccable , food excellent always a good atmosphere and you can hear yourself speak, no loud music .

Visited the Whitley Bay branch opposite the Coop in Whitley Bay. I won’t be going back. I ordered a small fish, chips, curry sauce and peas to take away. Total cost was £7.59 (complete rip off). The fish was tiny (basically the end of a fish) and the chips were wrinkly and appeared to have been warmed up. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Avoid at all costs!

If you ignore the inside dexor of the restaurant, which is in need of some TLC... and just go there for the fish and chips you won't be disappointed. They do any fish battered in gluten free batter so I had haddock and my friend had the normal gluten battered haddock. It was lovely and freshly made.

Had take away food as had dogs with us. Lady who served us was very friendly and patient as there were 7ofus deciding what we wanted including 2 children who kept hanging their minds! Had a variety off the menu and all of it was delicious

We had fish chips and mushy peas from this chip shop and we thoroughly enjoyed them. We would recommend them.

Been here a few times in the past but this visit, got to say the quality just wasn’t there.. the chips quite cold, the stottie a bit stale and the fish not of good quality, the gravy was pretty good though... we sat in and have to say it’s looking very tired.

I went to this chip shop a while ago and it was dreadful, I thought I’ll give it another try and it was even worse than before. None of the food that is served seemed to be fresh, the food is over priced, when it’s not good quality either. Will not be going back.

Last few times We’ve been here the chips were the same - hard, wrinkled up and cold. Gave them another chance this visit and they were just like they were last time - awful. They’re anything but fresh, it’s like they’ve been sat there all day long and have curled and gone hard. Disgraceful to sell chips like this. I’ll never visit again.

Tried this chip shop once again after forgetting how bad they were the last time i was there. The chips were hard / overly dark and felt like they has been lying in the oil for hours. By time i got them home they were cold. Never again.

This wasn't great when it was the Whitley Whaler and hasn't improved since. It's fine. In another town this would be good but with so many options this just can't cut the grade. Needs better fish or at least fried better

Large portions of beautifully battered fish, accompanied by a large portion of chips. Very tasty and highly recommended.

Great choice and reasonable prices. Recommended by the locals as best in the are? Fab service phoned to say only one pie left in flavour wanted so could order for the other. Chips different to tasted before

Purchased some chips here and headed down to St Mary's Lighthouse to enjoy them. Quite pricey; £7 for two portions of chips and a couple of bottles of pop. The chips were good, a little bit on the greasy side but otherwise tasty.

Pantrinis at whitley lodge has the best fish and chips we have ever had the service is very fast and they cook everything fresh for you order. The staff are very friendly they cant do enough for you.

Very slow service, greasy fish, the chips were over cooked and dry- along with the chicken they were almost burned! Waste of packaging that they should've spent on food, they forgot to put the sauce in. I'm very surprised that they've won any awards.

The size of fish I received was laughable! Honestly... we usually go to another fish and chip shop in the area but decided to try this as we were driving past. Definitely not value for money, can get more reasonable portions elsewhere for the same cost. Won't be returning,

The food here is always good. the prices are alos very good. It is best avoiding around 1230pm on weekdays. It gets very busy at this time with students from the high school.

Fish and chips is the best in Whitley Bay. Cod bites are cooked to perfection. Suzy and Emily are fantastic. Great service. Definitely recommend.

Lovely food, friendly service, outside tables nice and clean. All in all a perfect seaside visit on a hot Bank holiday weekend.

Made fresh to order and superb quality. My husband is a very fuss fish and chip man and we have visited twice recently and he has rated them the best - high praise indeed!

Went there yesterday alongside my friends and our little ones !! On arrival was rudely told if I am sitting in I don't order there !! My 1 year old kept wandering about to which one staff member in particular (the old hard faced one) kept tutting and sighing as loud as she could !! All of our group felt uncomfortable to even ask any questions as staff were so unapproachable and miserable!! I ordered a side of bread and butter to which I was rudely told 'Narrrr you never' the receipt was found and no apology given. Such a shame as the food is lovely just in future look at the people you employ customer service is important and in this place it is shocking.

Fresh, piping-hot traditional fish and chips to take away. Service was fast at the takeaway queue and the establishment is always busy with a constant stream of customers.

The only thing that lets this place down is the rather scruffy appearance of the staff. The food is great but thank goodness it is deep fried to kill the germs

Visited for the first time last weekend. Best fish and chips I've had in a long while. The menu has a good variety including handmade fishcakes if you fancy a change. Well worth a visit!!!

I visited Pantrinis for the first time a coupe of weeks with my husband as the usual place we have a meal before going to other Peoples Theatre was closed. We selected pie and chips from a varied menu and coffee. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I visited again yesterday for the same reaon as above and this time had haddock and chips. Again the service was excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I can thoroughly recommend Pantrinis, whether you want a meal in the restaurant or take away. Also the prices are very reasonable and value for money,. I will certainly be visiting them again in the future.
