Even though the food came late, which was unusual based on passed orders, the food was still hot and fresh. The shop also rang us to let us know and keep us updated.

the order was so late by the tome ot got here i think they moght of jist given us the left overs from the night, got the wrong sides ordered coleslaw got gravy and beans [that were awful]. the chicken was so dry like it had been sitting for ages the only thing that was OK but still not the best was the garlic sauce. Will not order from here again

Ok so I can forgive the delivery time, I understand they're busy. Just can't forgive or forget the absolutely terrible food. THE FULL ORDER was cold, the corn on the cob tasted like vinegar, the mini fillet burgers looked to have been assembled by Edward Scissor Hands. Can honestly say I'll NEVER order from here again.

Absolutely atrocious service! Took over 3 hrs to deliver from a mile away! And then only delivered because I phoned to ask where my order was! !, and still the order was wrong!, Disappointed as food is excellent… but in future will never use this place…

Food was cold , ordered extra toppings and pizza came with none of the toppings and also took 1:30 minutes to deliver.

Order was 30 mins late, I called and they said it would be another 15 mins, arrived and it wasn't. Also, the Smash burgers are not smash burgers. it tasted like normal patty's - very disappointed

I love my fried chicken and I’ve been to many KFCs around the world. When it comes to Dixys in the UK it’s always hit and miss, but my word the food at Whitley Bay Dixy’s was without a doubt the best I’ve had in the UK. The chicken was so tender and just perfectly fried. My daughter had Peri(or Piri), whatever it’s called, and she loved it, a bit spicy but delicious. The staff were so friendly too. Definitely recommend and will be back next time I’m here.

Haven't ordered from here for a while, but they popped up on recommended, so I thought I would give them another chance. Unfortunately the order was delayed quite a bit, so it wasn't very hot when it got here.

I used to love dixy in Whitley but not sure what has happened to the portions? Payed £7.79 for a 3 chicken strip meal and the chips portion wouldn’t feed a child.

Back to its best. Chicken was spot on.

I am biased here, no one get the food that fast and just out of the fryer 😋 Chips were amazing , chicken were good but the smaller the better ( the drum stick was best) The bias was that the chicken didn't take enough time to get rid of all the oil since I was the last customer in line ( served very quickly yet not enough time to drain all the oil) which might be the only down side The 2 gentlemen who were on shift were really nice and asking how was it, I am glad any way The place seems to be in redecoration phase( wall banners were off yet the kitchen was shiny ( which is what I do care for, most of my reviews are : are people nice and helpful, how food was, how hungry was I , I must say I was just passing time,yet enjoyed 😄) Just add, I would always prefer spicy chicken if they are available any where, for some reason it gives better crunch, I forgot to ask for it here

The food is amazing now - I was off Dixy’s for a while but the quality has definitely improved - honestly much better than it has been for a while. This is my third order since new management and it’s been great each time.

1st time ordering . Cold chips , dishwater gravy , no hash brown on the chicken burger and had spicy sauce on not mayonnaise. Standard of food and taste was good just need thicker gravy with taste and warm chips and items included in description

First time back in 2 years after poor service , thought I would give them a try after a refurbishment. Place is work in progress with refurbishment. The time to get food ready still hasn’t gotten any better for a fast food outlet, we waited 25 mins for our food when we sat in. The cheese burger was fresh and in a large bun and chips fresh too, my mega mix burger was not quite as advertised. Menu clearly stated on screen that it was a fillet burger, menu stated inside also has fillet burger stacked with 2 chicken strips. Mine was a burger made up of 4 chicken strips! Not the burger I had ordered but apparently that’s how it is served. It meant that I had less chicken content when they tried to use the bottom 2 strips to make up the size of the fillet that should have been in. Food was actually nice and fresh in a good size bun, but based on the price and misleading description in store, point of principal I won’t be back myself as I personally felt being robbed off the fillet. Shame, as this place used to be my go to place for burgers many years ago and i know how the mega mix burger should come as that’s the one I always ordered too

I called 4 times, told a different time each time I asked. Each time being told it was out. It took almost 2 hours to deliver!!!

We went to a few takeaways during our 5 day visit and tried this Dixys. He was reluctant after reading some previous reviews. The branch looked new after the refurb and the food was excellent. The burger was freshly made and tasted 👏 amazing. We went for the supreme fillet burgers and couple of other burgers. The food was the best we had in our 5 days visit. I just wish we went there first. My advise is try the food and you won't be disappointed. Thumbs up for the 5 star quality of the food and the staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Big shout out to Sadiq.

Dont get me wrong the food was nice and the order was correct but got let down on the delivery As instructed.......The driver did call due to the lateness but he sat in his car at the end of the lane out of my view instead of getting off his F&£ A££ to come to my door i was made to track him down.... This is not on for a Door Dash service.... Will not order again.......

DO NOT EAT HERE Wow ordered full peri peri chicken drove 30 minutes to this chicken shop to wait 50 minutes for it to be cooked get home and opened the bag, I pulled out a juicy piece of chicken it looked under cooked so pulled it apart it was still dripping in blood! I tried to call the shop and they pretended they couldn't hear me on the phone. I have also made a complaint to food and hygiene. Definitely would not recommend this place. This takeout should not even be open

Expected better after the refurbishment! I'm sorry but this place is in a really bad place, just like it was before. However, without trying to put too much blame on the staff, I do find them to be responsible for several things. This review is based on the last 4 visits over 3 months. 1) timing - food is never made on time. Just accept that if it states your order will be ready in 30 minutes, add another 20 minutes to avoid long waits (even if they have sneakily marked orders as ready). 2) indoor staffing issues - two staff to man the whole business is just frankly not enough. If you have to stop making several meals to take an order or go to the back to get change (why is there no change in the tills) then you know there's an issue. One of the staff member was not even trained on taking orders, just packing and even then he was frequently asking the other gent how to do things. There's nothing wrong with training staff but staff shortages is unfair on customers and the staff themselves. 3) prices - 2/4 visit I was charged incorrectly. The staff member just calculated the costs in his head. There is no working POS system! Overcharged half of the the time is not on. 4) food quality - this is the worst. I can forgive all the above if an establishment had good food but it's not the case here. The chicken are bulk cooked and left in the warmer for goodness knows how long. When you're (likely) to get this as part of your meal, it tastes disgusting and salty. The gravy last time has the consistency of water, went straight in the bin. If you decide to shop here, the only thing fresh is the beef burger and fries because they're made to order but even then the burger is highly priced for what you get. Management really need to revisit the drawing board because they're ruining any respect that's left for this place. People had high hopes after the refurb but it seems management has not changed and cheap/old food is being pumped out by staff who seem like they do not care.

So many things missing in my order, I got it to feel my whole family and there was so many things missing

The order was 15 minutes late, both meals had no fries. We called and were told that both fries would be dropped off. 40 minutes later we get a phone call asking for us to send the location to the driver on a different number… our postcode was already known. Awful experience.

The point of a takeaway is you don't have to cook but my order was ice cold and had to go in the oven. my 5 chicken strips which i got from the meal section was just chicken strips (not a meal) also drink i picked was missing
