I always ordered a quarter chicken, leg piece, in mango and lime with peri salt on chips. It was cooked how I wanted it and their service is good.

AVOID unless you enjoy being ROBBED Paid for my order with cash , only for the guy working there to literally pretend I hadn't given him any money. So ended up paying for food and not being able to get it. I suggest they look closely at their CCTV to discover how many other people have been scammed in this way. Go elsewhere. At least you will actually get food in return for your money!

The manager is a disgrace he shouldn’t work in a resturant with that attitude. Asked for a little bit mayo on he put none on then we find hairs in the burgers!!! VILE. This place should be shut down it’s filthy inside. Wouldn’t pay me to eat here ever again!!!!

Don’t even bother eating here their food is disgusting and costumer service is horrible and they lack respect for costumers 0 out of 10 I don’t have a photo and I cannot send this without filling everything so ignore the random photo their food is not good enough for their poor costumer service

The burrito with the lime and mango sauce is delicious!! (Dine in) The whole chicken with mild sauce is finger licking good!! (Take away) So so tasty! Could have been the tiniest bit more crispy but legitimately some of the best chicken I've ever had.

Friends raved about Pepe's food so I ordered a quesadilla 'meal' via Just Eat. I was charged £4 for a one mile delivery, 20p for a non existent outer bag and another 50p service charge? The meal was tiny, childrens type portion, a single small wrap folded in half with filling. The food was greasy with a tiny portion of fries. The 'meal' arrived in a paper bag slightly larger than a mobile phone, I was astonished. It cost over £12! Never again.

Ordered a plain chicken, was spicy beyond belief. Called to let them know and they said all chicken comes from London and the best they could do was wash some chicken under the tap to make it less spicy. Not even joking, that is what they said!! Not sorry and did not care

The chips were dry, the rice tasted like chemicals the chicken was weird and on top of that I was charged 80p extra for requesting half the chicken to be hot and half medium as my girl can't handle much heat. They are already more expensive than pepes on West Road and yet the west road is much better from service to food.

Chips were good nothing else. I ordered a quarter chicken and I was delivered a piece of bone and flesh covered in sauce. No chicken on it. £5.99 for that. They need quality chicken pieces. You think you get a quarter and you get a leg with scrapings on it. So poor.

Doesn’t live up to the hype Friends go on about this place being the “better Nando’s” It’s not, it’s cheaper for a reason, don’t know if it was because it was a big order or whatever, items missing and stuff. My chicken burrito had the smallest amount of chicken in it. It’s a 2/10 for me like. I’ll not return.

The service speed was slightly slower than I would like to see in a fast food establishment. While there was a few orders being made up, for what I ordered I waited a bit to long. Staff were friendly and covid19 safe. The chicken was tasty and had a good level of flavour. The peri peri chips could have been mixed better rather than just the peri peri threw on the few chips at the top. I would return, but would order for collection, rather than a walk-in takeaway.

Well I travel a lot, or rather I have done and recently I am restricted to work in Newcastle from my home in Kent. Due to the lockdown I am eating alone in my hotel room and have just had the pleasure of sampling Pepe's Piri Paris wings. Now I love wings, I have eaten them in every city I go to as a treat and I have to say that Pepe's are some of the finest that I have ever tasted. Despite being delivered they were piping hot and incredibly tasty. A well deserved 5 stars, I will be back for more.

I will never order from this place ever again payed over £17 for tiny chicken wrap and lamb burger meals. The burger was the size of a McDonald's 99p burger and the fries were just covered in peri peri powder you get more for your money on the McDonald's 99p menu. When they delivered my food they put the garlic sauce in a bag with the cans of pop and the pots burst all over the cans i told the driver and he wasnt even bothered that just shows you they dont care there menu has NO sizes of the burgers you get so be careful what you order.

Food is okay but the customer service is absolutely shocking. Terrible attitude from the guy who answers the phone. He uses the words “ready within half an hour” without even thinking how long it will take to be ready. It is NEVER ready within half a hour. This guy will be the END of this place. What an absolute plonker. My last experience here was literally my LAST for this place!! Never going back!!

This place used to be good when it first opened but has gone down hill, Ordered and told to collect in 25 mins but still had to wait another 15 mins when I arrived.They had my order wrong and were rude/arrogant when I complained. Can’t see this place lasting much longer.

Disgraceful. Would never order from here again. Delivery was an hour late, and when I had rang to ask where the food was the customer service was horrendous. Once the food had arrived, it was stone cold. The wrap was soggy and the salad which we had ordered was drowning in salad dressing/other fluids. The delivery driver was also very ignorant and didn’t greet me pleasantly. I had very high standards for Pepes and they certainly weren’t met, very disappointed.

As we walked in the staff were rude to us we then proceeded to sit down on dirt seats when we finally got our food it was disgusting also I watched them go to the bathroom and not clean their hands it should be shut down immediately

My kids (youngest is 19) love the food and gladly pay the £5 delivery charge due to the distance but alas although the chicken is always warm I find the chips are lukewarm by the time they get delivered or when I get back from collecting them. They do not seem to understand the concepts of double bagging or using some other method of keeping them warm other than stapling the bag. ???

Terrible customer service. First time the order was 20 mins late and we gave them another chance as they were fairly new. Ordered today again, 1 hour 40 mins later the food isnt here and the restaurants reason - because it's dark outside the driver got stuck

The owner made all of them other than my son stand outside in the pouring rain (storm Dennis weekend). When I called to complain the owner did not apologise as apparently it’s his policy to make kids (but not adults) stand outside, this is discrimination. In addition I did not receive an apology I was told it was my fault and asked did I have nothing better to do. We get takeout from there every week but never again will I or any of my family give business to this place.

When it comes to pepes it's hard to disappoint.. I like the food personally and customer service is usually very good .. if ever not sure about a place to eat and you see a pepes than that's definately recommended coz I haven't personally been to a pepes that wasnt nice

A bit hit and miss unfortunately, the first time I tried the chicken I was very impressed. The next two times weren't so good and in fact the last time really put me off. They use some kind of smoke flavour spray while the chicken is grilling which was nice but the last time it was so soaked in the stuff it was overpowering and offputting.

Another good meal from Pepe's Piri Piri. Nice chicken n noodles and Chicken burger and chips.

Amazing resturant, delicious food and a good price although it is soooooo spicy but my brothers love I mean love them tooo just toooo spicy so kids don't eat them!!!!💖💙❤🦋

Food fine. Service terrible. Went in, wasn't particularly busy, half an hour later we got our food. They should say if there is a wait that long. Others went in after us and got there food before us. We had 3 hungry kids with us and expected quick service. Would not go back again.

Well one word describes it all dissatisfaction in all areas.... let's start with the quality of the food POOR. The service POOR. The taste of the food POOR. Well what can I say first and last time I'd be spending my money in pepes. The chicken is dry and tasteless so must be steamed then grilled as you can clearly see them putting already cooked chicken on the grill and that in my eyes is like cooking something that is already cooked so you can guess the taste has clearly gone up in smoke. The staff have no customer service skills and just dont want to be in the place.. and then what really hits home is the prices for something with a poor quality then McDonalds come on give your heads a shake ripping off the public like that. You would be surprised at the quality and look of what you get for the cost it's just not good at all. But again avoid like the clap... love your money but a place that is just a rip off.

Good food, really enjoyed it. Disappointing service, cant pay card if ordered to collect (and not paid) online. A customer collecting food shouldn't leave unhappy before even trying the food. Surely could of helped more. This inconvenience meant it was close to 45 minutes from ordering food online to actually getting it.

Order a classic grill chicken meal which took 15 minutes in my lunch break. Too long . I’m unsure if it’s a fast food place or something else. Food arrived after a very long wait and it was bland - not taste no flavour overall poor and overpriced. I won’t be returning

This place has money hungry owners who don't care about a single customer and the custom they bring. If there's x amount of money being made, who cares. We ordered so much food, just over £40 worth and ordered the wings, 18 for 10.99. Look at the size of the wing, a chip is larger than the damn thing and it was burnt. They're not wings, they're unwanted pieces of wings you decided to give us because you thought we'd not complain. The chicken was nice, can't say it wasn't but everything else was horrible. I will never order fro you again and will spread word of your terrible service and rip off prices for maggoty wings.

Went here for the first time tonight and will be back definitely staff are so friendly foods amazing full of flavour had the chicken burrito and it was delish also had chicken strips which where lovely can tell the meat is good quality really enjoyed it then had chocolate fudge cake which was so good to !! Portions are huge definitely a must try

Just been with the family and the food was amazing. We had quite a few different things amongst us and no complaints. The perri chips are spicy so the kids just had plain chips. The mango n lime flavour is a big hit, going to buy a bottle next time I'm in. The service was excellent and the staff were very nice. Five meals (one kids) with drinks and less than 30 quid! Also everything was spotless and the booth was spacious and comfy.

Top draw alternative to Nandos.

Chicken is good, the extra hot chicken with extra hot sauce made my husband cry. The staff seem nice, the wait was just a little on the long side, the price was reasonable but not exactly cheap. £6 for a chicken wrap, large fries (there were loads of fries), and a can of Pepsi. There's a wide variety of food options, the place itself is large, open, and clean. If you like chicken, definitely try this place out.

This is a chain, I think it started in London but now has franchise locations across the UK. Really happy that they’ve chosen Whitley Bay as a location. The chicken spices and sauces are similar to Nando’s but it’s in a kind of KFC setting. Sit in or take away. The chicken is grilled fresh and seasoned with a heat of your choice from mild to extra hot. They even sell the sauce bottles like Nando’s.

We've eaten from Pepe's several times now. The food is delicious and better value for money than the obvious competition (who I won't name lol). The staff are always so pleasant and polite too.. always a winner in my book. Top marks!
