Panda Restaurant in Sunderland

Food choices limited, taste free, not very hot. At almost £50 with one drink each, no value for money. Will NOT go back!!!

For two people £44.60 is a scandal. Will not visit this buffet again. I ordered a small bottle of water and the bill was for a large bottle. If I hadn't checked, I would have paid for a large bottle.

When we arrived at Panda kitchen we were seated straight away and told to could get some food but she would be back shortly to take payment. The reason i had wanted to visit was because i had seen dumplings on the photographs so i went straight to them i put one on my plate only to realise it was stone cold i told the waiter and him and another man started to check the heater i didn't dare have any of it then as they seemed to be checking it and moving the food around the entire time we were there. The spring rolls and samosas were virtually empty. The chicken had a strange texture and the cakes looked very disappointing. After leaving i had a very bad stomach for the rest of the night and felt very sick. Will not be returning.

My mate and I were staying in Sunderland prior to going to the international football in Newcastle and decided to give Panda Garden a look. We were not disappointed. These received a friendly welcome from the staff and made to feel at home. Normally all you can eat buffets I find to be okay, nothing special, but they do the job. However, here, the food was simply excellent. There is a very good selection and it was cooked beautifully and all of it was very flavoursome. I did the usual thing and went up three times, purely because the food was so good. I am gutted I live so far away as otherwise I would be here regularly, such was the enjoyment. Highly recommended and very fairly priced, which extended to the drinks as well.

Went for lunch today and hoped for a good choice of authentic Chinese food. Instead I was presented with a selection of lukewarm tasteless dishes that were used cheap ingredients. The beef strips were really bad. Avoid at all costs. I have eaten at many Chinese buffets in the past but this was the by far the worst I have encountered. I definitely won’t be going back.

So to start they make you pay as you sit down, which given the quality of the food is probably a good business decision. The food itself was lukewarm, the spring rolls rock hard and I desperately wanted to tell the chef that just adding a tonne of black pepper doest not automatically make a dish taste better. I did try other dishes just in case it was my personal taste but couldnt find any that were particularly appetising. On the upside we got a chinese takeaway when we got home which was much better.

The boba tea part of the bar had lots of different flavors and explained the difference between different bobas

It’s the worse Chinese buffed I ever been. First of all they make you pay even before you start eating, not many choices and the food itself not taste. I will never come back.

Great service and lovely food. Really tasty and fresh. Cakes fantastic and prices ok. Will come back as usual because there is not many good restaurants in Sunderland

We were very disappointed with the quality of the food. It was tepid or cold. None of it was tasty. Lowest quality buffet we have been to. The staff were pleasant but unfortunately could not recommend the food. Not a good experience.

Good food and very good service. I would strongly recommend the sweet and sour chicken and the bubble tea.

Buffets are rarely good in my opinion. I found the food to be poor and overpriced. I have not been back.

I went here so wanted to really enjoy it. Sadly I was let down some of the food was under cooked. It's really let the place down cause other dishes were really nice. I didnt like chicken curry. Panda please cook your food right.
