Great food great buffet we enjoyed I and my family still a great place

Disgusting... would not return. Meat was awful, rice was sticky. Chips were dry. Selection of cakes was terrible if there was any.. loads of jelly and ice cream.. Not much selection of dishes... unless you like sea food, plenty of that... Pancakes but no duck 😕 salad bar not good either.. £47 for 2 adults, 1 refillable Pepsi and a pint of Stella. Reasonable if food was nice.

A bit expensive but it is worth it

Racial profiling I noticed that they were charging black people the moment we walked in there And white people were charged after they ate their food Just because they assume all black people are thieves and not capable of paying for things Food was rubbish and bland Most of it was cold Don’t recommend

Weekend buffet price has changed (£18.90 per person) - £16.90 for weekday buffet. Love to eat weekend buffet including duck and sushi. Definitely Recommend! Also we had to pay first before or during meal which is absolutely fine.

I was confused as what they class as a child, if you are over 4'11" you are no longer a child and at £18.60 each. The staff came to the table while I was still eating asking me to pay, don't know what that's all about

Regular customer but on my latest visit the price of the lunch buffet has increased by £2 to £16.90 which I think is too steep. By the time you have a drink you are talking a good £20 per person. I will try alternatives now due to this.

Very yummy food , possibly need to add some more choice of dishes. Most of the time same dishes

I travelled from Leeds to Sunderland just to try panda garden and I must say I wasn't disappointed and the trip was well worth it. You must try this place for a good bite to eat for a reasonable price. The staff are exceptional and very attentive. Many thanks panda garden and I hope to return very soon.

Been a few times in my time good is ok can’t get away with some of these reviews complaining and minor things it’s 15 quid each cheap place to eat don’t expect a fine dining restaurant it’s a all you can eat cheap food stop being stingy and tight you get what you pay for

So it was super amazing.. a little story to tell, so I didn't have enough funds and we expecting the bouquet to be £8 but tonight it kinda doubled.. and it was my friend birthday, needed to make it special, and decided to pay for her only got some drinks for both of us.. so once a while I take some bite from her buffer.. which of course I never knew was against their law.. please don't try this or be like me.. so at my fourth bite or so, I kinda observed the waiter was looking at me funny thought she was feeling me didn't know she was all about monitoring my moves.. until she came to me and was like, have you changed your mind.. I replied.. how do you mean, she said i have seen you eating from it, i was like yeah a couple bites, and she was like you have to pay for that also, I was like oh.. literally dropping the last bit in my hand and ejecting backwards, and she continued.. you have to pay for this and my manger saw you also.. to shorten the tale, we went to the manager who politely told me it was company policy, understand I had to apologize, in the plight of offering my ring as collateral, he objected and pardon my excesses.. moral of the story the rating above was all worth it, excellent food, service and atmosphere and lastly don't be like me, ask questions and dont ever attempt to cheat the system

Visited Panda Garden Buffet this evening. Amazing food. Friendly helpful staff experience. Reasonably priced. Highly recommended if you visit Sunderland.

The food was so bland and the choice was poor for a buffet style all you can eat. I'd rather pay more and get quality than pay less and walk away disappointed. The roast chicken and pancakes were laughable, having no duck and it's usual components you find elsewhere was disappointing. Most of the dishes I tried were very salty. The ice cream is the cheapest you can find. I think it could be way better even with the limited amount of dishes they can offer. The upside was a polite and friendly service. I'm sorry to be negative about the food but it was underwhelming and bland.

Food Luke warm .I had to pay before you go get food not a great deal of choice in my opinion unfortunately I most certainly will not be returning

been going for years but the prices rise and the choice reduces yesterday was terrible, the food was bland, the meat full of fat and hardly any choice, the sushi and dim sum been taken away on a sunday and the chefs specials were bits of wrap or tiny buns, rubbish selection, sorry but will give a miss now.

Not in the best part of Sunderland town centre. But food really nice .It shut at 9 but I would say be there for 7 o'clock.

Food is dry and bland, constantly playing the same few songs over and over and too loud. Cannot hear the server due to the music being so loud. Ridiculously overpriced for what you get. Burnt my hand on the cutlery which was not labeled as hot. Half of the options are just called chefs special without elaborating. Rice was undercooked too. Honestly really disappointed and would not come back even if I was paid.

Renovated from my last visit and absolutely wonderful, with a wide selection of foods for everyone. We went to the weekend lunch buffet and it was incredible. The atmosphere was amazing and I adore the new interior. The food is incredible, and now much more insulated and not left to air as much as it used to. Therefore, less possibility for cross contamination (though some may occur). The staff are friendly, accommodating and wholesome. A wonderful eating place for lunch and dinner, for dates or family meals. Plus, they have custard buns that look like chickens! You can't say no to this adorable face!

This was our second visit here and my opinion was of the first time absolutely horrible and not fit for human consumption. The food was freezing cold and curry is like soup as it’s watered down so much .Staff are friendly and helpful but the standards of food are a let down and environmental health should really be involved as the temperature of the food is not maintained and to be honest smells and tastes like sweaty socks.Avoid this place!!!!

Ate here on Sunday 10th December for lunch. Had a fantastic meal with plenty of freshly cooked food to choose from. Attentive, friendly staff made us feel very welcome. Would definitely come back, highly recommended.

Nice meal all you can eat 2 adults 3 kids kids are happy coz they can pick and choose themselves then have cake icecream and jelly never over crowded always a nice time out

Visited 1 hr 15 mins before closure, which wasn't ideal as at that time they don't seem to replace food that's finished and some dishes were dry. Would visit earlier next time. Staff very pleasant.

Very good atmosphere and staff. I loved their selection of chinese food and love how much I can get for my moneys worth. Staff are very helpful and helped introduce me to their wonderful east Asian cuisine despite my picky appetite. All this place needs is more customers. Wonderful place and wonderful people.

Food wasn't fit for consumption, chicken wings still kicking. Meat was red and bloody inside. I wouldn't recommend this place. Definitely won't be back.

The service was good, but the food let it down. For the price we paid, i expected a lot better. But It could have been down to the time of day. The mens toilets were cramped it was like walking into a small cupboard but they were very clean.

Decent all you can eat Chinese food

Great choices of food and deserts. Staff are really lovely and explained the buffet well to us as it was our first time. Overall food was delicious and restaurant was very clean. Would visit again.

Been here twice first time I wasn’t all impressed the food wasn’t very warm even when In metal heat boxes. Tried again whilst in Sunderland shopping and again the same , the food isn’t stored at the right temperature to keep the food hot , there is not 80 dishes like it states on the website I would say 14 at the most. There is not much of a choice at all. Give it a second chance and definitely would not be giving it a third.. save your money and go elsewhere. Lovely staff just lack of interest in the food they serve and the customers. Food wise there is not enough to choose from , all dishes lack in flavour and the staff did not keep on top of making sure the food was topped up when emptied.

"A *Vegan* review ^_^", Panda Garden in my experience has a very welcoming, friendly, service and atmosphere, the restaurant and staff understand everyone may have other dietary requirements, and on my first visit provided me with a food chart which shows any allergins, animal products and other dietary information there all dishes may have, using this provides everyone to easily select what they wish to eat, simply put "good food", I hope they keep going and expand more on some vegan Chinese dishes like, mushroom buns, soya dim sums and wholemeal chow mein noodles. ^_~

Everything and everyone one here was great. Excellent food!!!!! Great service 💯. It is better to go in hungry. Like don't eat at all before you go 🤣🤣.

Food is not the best, plenty of choice but very bland , was a family 8n with a few kids, they fingered everything in the sweet isle, the wife had to go and complain about the state of the ladies loos, definitely will not be returning, was more like a scruffy cattle market, definitely wouldn't be taking your parent's for a meal anyway. Very poor avoid if you can, £ 87 for the 4 of us, be lucky if we ate £ 30 worth between us.

Went to the grant buffet and you pay higher price but with me been vegetarian there was till only noodles rice chip and spring roll which isn't much when the meat eaters pay the same with been able to eat all dishes or have a variety. I think they need to chance vegetarian prices or up the food of what we can eat

Got a Too Good to Go from this Chinese restaurant this evening. Whilst the time given to collect was 19:55 - 20:15 and at 8pm I was last of 7 or 8 folk collecting to arrive, we all had to wait until after 8:10 to receive our orders and given the poor parking around the area, and the expectancy for a quick collection, waiting 15 minutes had various of us hoping we wouldn't get a parking ticket... To give them their due, the staff member was very apologetic. As for the food in taste, in amount, it was amazing!!! Really yummy and lots of variety. The 3.6 score on Too Good to Go for this restaurant cannot be for the quality of the food - personally I will give them 5 ⭐and after the politeness and friendly apology 4⭐ for the service. Maybe they just need to shorten the pick up time and say between 8.05 and 8.15 to prevent anyone having to wait long.

First visit to Sunderland and was the first Asian restaurant we visited. Very nice atmosphere and food. Nice service and Very recommended.

Got a "too good to go" meal that apparently was £15 for £5, I was extremely Disappointed, it was the size of a regular meal you would buy at a takeaway, and it was all put in the same takeaway dish so if you didn't like a certain sauce or part of it separating it wouldn't be easy,I got it for my son who ended up wasting it as he wasn't keen on squid.

This is the best buffet outlet in sunderland. Very taste and irresistible meals. Neat and well organized environment. Great 👍👍 job 🐼 GARDEN

It's mediocre at best , used to be really nice . At £17 it's best to give it a miss.

Very little of the food was hot. Only about 6 people in. Not worth the price now, unfortunatly, i doubt i would go back.

Amazing service, friendly helpful staff. The food was ok but when you pay £50 for an adult and 2 children 11 and 9 it's a bit over priced could do with a bigger range, better value at other buffets if your prepared to travel. I would not pay the extra for a Sunday.

Mediocre to say the least. First time here since it reopened. Be my last trip as well. The choice of food wasn't up to much at all. Sat down to eat and half way through one of the staff came over to take payment for our meal. I found this strange as you generally pay after. I felt a little offended by this. I seen them do this to other people as well. It was slightly over priced as well for a lunch time buffet. If you are local and drive try my shanghai on the coast road north shields. Its far better

It used to be fare prices and choice. We went here last week. It was £32 for two adults weekday lunch time, including 2 fizzy oranges. Nice food but not much choice for price. No crispy seaweed 😔 and a little overpriced.

Has this changed hands recently? , now have a height chart at door for kids and pay up front. Been here many times but no more, food either bland or very salty and some dishes looked like they had been kept warm way past their best , something has changed and its not for the better. It was almost empty at 2pm should have been a clue there.

Excellent food. Decor improved since I was there. Had a great time with the family. Waiters were lovely. Will return ASAP.

The food is beyond delicious, staff are extremely friendly and helpful, the atmosphere is fantastic! Me and my fiancée have eaten here a few times, and will continue to do so in the future.

First, of, it was easy to locate Secondly, the ambience is beautiful The staff are super responsive and kind. Price is being displayed at the entrance so no surprises. An array of delicious dishes, although mainly Asian cuisines. From starter to main and to dessert, everything was yummy In my opinion, the price is super cool. Drinks range from pure fruit juices to soft and alcoholic. All very affordable I will go again No parking as much as it's in the city centre We had to park on another street and walked down It's a very good place for a group hang out and I will definitely go again and again

Amazing place. Huge selection of dishes and cakes/ice cream etc that are all kept very hygienic in roll top containers. Staff were really friendly and chatty and made a point of making sure our table was kept clean and tidy, empty glasses and plates were taken away as soon as they were seen which obviously left more room for us to get more food 😁 Will definitely be going back there again.

Will never eat here again. Wanted to charge my child adult price for being about an inch over the height chart she is 11 years old and wouldn't eat enough for adult price. I hope these money grabbing rip of merchants go out of business. Luckily there is plenty of other places to eat close that don't rip you off and offer better food as I've Luckily found out. So thanks for making me go elsewhere and support honest people out there. No wonder it was very quiet when we called. Fortunately there is other buffet restaurants that we will now use .

Large variety of food, clean, great atmosphere and friendly staff

A nice place for buffet dinner. Got lots of foods, vegetables and dessert. It is relatively cheap and affordable.
