Fantastic place, the food is fresh, home made and flavourful. The lovely lady who served us made us feel very welcome. Some things might be out of stock but they’ll always make you something like it, which to me is the sign of a good kitchen. The prices for the amount of food you get are VERY agreeable Can’t wait to go back! A gem

What a hidden gem, After attending my daughters MA graduation she led me to a back alley cafe, tha Palm. Serving Middle Eastern cuisine she had been before and raved about it to me. OK, so it was not a full meal I embarked on but could have quite easily as the menu catered for all eventualities. I settled for the local falafel. These came in a traditional flat bread with a delicious houmas and well seasoned falafels. Flavour, value, and service all exceptional. I will definatly return to try more of the menu. Thank you to the lady chef, you made our day even more exceptional

Nottingham is so lucky to have this tiny, secret hideout, which feels like it might have been transplanted from downtown Damascus. Palms is cheerful, peaceful and reliably delicious; last time I went I ordered two falafel wraps because I knew I'd be heartbroken when I finished the first.

I love this place. The food is delicious and the owners are amazing. I’m yet to have a full sit-down meal here as I usually get a takeaway to eat at work but I certainly will very soon.

This is a hidden gem right in the city centre. We actually came back twice in one day! Great for vegetarians and the mint tea is wonderful. Really really good value

This place never seems to change and long may that continue! Outstanding value for the hot wraps, which start from around £3.50. Lovely welcoming staff and the place feels like a breath of fresh air (lots of outside seating) in an area gradually being taken over by chains - this is a legit hidden gem.

Tried their shawarma wrap and falafel wrap ,both very tasty MashaAllah , price is very reasonable fresh food ,tasty and good portion . Staff is very friendly , atmosphere is very pleasent, I highly recommend this place and yes will definitely come back again. Jazakallah khair.

This place is one of the best spots in Nottingham. The staff are lovely, the food is outstanding and it is so reasonably priced that I find myself deliberately forgetting my packed lunch so I have an excuse to grab a shawarma. Definitely in my top 3 places to eat in the city

Always slightly noticed the name Palms Cafe whilst on the tram and always wanted to have a look to see what it was like but tend to get distracted from other city centre sites. Visited it, and was pleasantly surprised. It was calm and had that calming attitude unlike other eateries. There is plenty of choice and the staff were friendly, very satisfied and happy with my lunch. Will hopefully be visiting again soon.

As a Muslim student in Nottingham it is nice to have found this very authentic and home style restaurant- makes you feel as if you are back home! All the food is very homemade and the atmosphere is so peaceful. Jazakallah khayr for a lovely experience, I will definitely be coming back. Nice place to have Iftar as well!

Fuimos a comer aquí debido a las restricciones vigentes en Nottingham, y el vecino quería darme un regalo por mi cumpleaños: Palms Cafe tiene varios asientos afuera bajo techo (¡trajimos nuestras propias mantas con nosotros, así que esto estuvo bien! ). Está escondido de la calle concurrida y es un lugar tranquilo para sentarse y comer. Se sintió seguro visitarlo, ya que nos sentamos afuera y el miembro del personal usaba una visera. Tuvimos varios entrantes para compartir (de forma segura) y tomé un té de frutas. Toda la comida era deliciosa y sabrosa, ya un precio razonable. Puedo recomendar especialmente el kibbeh y el hummus. El servicio fue rápido y amigable. Sin duda recomendaría Palms Cafe, ¡y espero persuadir a mi esposo para que venga a visitarnos también!

We found this as the sole Arabic food place in Nottingham town centre. My brother & I chose : Zaatar and Haloumi Fatayer, Baba Ganoush, Hummus, Fatoush Salad, Falafal with pickles & tahini dip, Foul Medames, plus an excellent Kunafa that was very cheesy and not too sweet, all washed down by perfect mint tea. Jamal, the owner was very friendly and we chatted to him telling him how much we missed living in the Middle East and this type of food how difficult it can be to find in some cities. Well worth a visit. Next to Costa. Opens at 9am on a Saturday. The evening menu looked really good too. Will re-visit when next in Nottingham.

An outstanding Arabic Food Cafe- a real hidden gem in the town centre of Nottingham. Park in the Crowne Plaza car park then it’s 200 metres. Tastes like home cooked food. Really delicious. We tried Foul Medames, ( all served with Khuboos),Baba Ganoush, Hummus with pickles, Haloumi and Zaatar Fatayer, Fatoush Salad, Falafal with Tahini dip and pickles. Finished with a perfect Kunafa desert and lots of fresh mint tea. First time my brother and I visited. Jamal- the owner is very hospitable and good to talk with. Definitely will revisit to try the dinner menu too!

It’s soooo bad, such a waste of money! The vine leaves are so small and it’s only staffed with rice! , and the mansef has no nuts on it and the tase is Disgusting!! Magloba is nothing like magloba at all the taste is so bad

I have recently been to Jerusalem and the ful matches up to any that I had there, and the hummus is pretty close! The knafeh was also great - I'm not much of a dessert person but I make an exception when cheese is involved. You can tell that is a traditional restaurant that respects traditional recipes and is not primarily set up to cater to tourists, in both the food and decor, which is always the best when it comes to cuisines like Palestinian. On top of this the staff are polite and courteous, which you expect from such a cafe. Note - from what I have seen online it seems the only negative reviews come from Deliveroo/Uber Eats customers. I wouldn't let this put you off - if it puts you off ordering from there, then just go to the restaurant instead.

I should apologise for not writing a review as I have followed Jamal (owner) from his former place to this current one. The reviews on his place, the food and his hospitality genuinely deserve all the accolades in these reviews, Please note the only bad one is really a reflection on UberEats) I dont live in Nottm now and sorely miss this food. Even something we can all make in our kitchens, like hummus, just has something very wonderful about it at Palms Cafe. Trust me, very few other restuarants match this quality and flavour. I'm an international traveller too! My favorite is the freshly and home made hummus Shawarma and a coffee. I always walk out very satisfied. Its ironic that it's a small and a hidden away gem, but one always worries how it would change is it attracts more customers (that this restaurant deserves). I sincerely recommend you try it and tease the owner that you want your meal to live up to these reviews. First thing to happen is you'll see him smile - as he knows that is sooo normal for them!

Hands down the best hummus of my life! And the lamb shawarma was incredible. Truly authentic, delicious, inexpensive, and they were happy to let us take our leftover hummus and baba ghanoush away with some flatbread which automatically makes it a 6* out of 5 imo. Recommended it to everyone and will be back asap!

Ordered takeaway for collection from store. The food was fantastic and promptly ready. Price was OK, especially considering amount of food, location and cuisine. Serving size was much larger than we expected - could only just finish the mixed grill platter! There is a decent selection on the menu of reasonably authentic meals, and some more westerized. Wrap was one of the best I've had, and all of the meat was cooked well. Side bits were fresh, crunchy and lasted alright for breakfast next morning. Highly recommend, will definitely return if in the area.

Popped in here for lunch after looking around for somewhere to eat. The restaurant itself is a little tired in the decor, but that is more than made up for by the wonderful owner and his partner, and the exquisite, authentic middle Eastern food. My partner had the vegetarian platter, whilst I had a halloumi and shawarma wrap, alongside a halloumi and olive oil pizza. All the food was absolutely gorgeous, tasted fresh and authentic and was served very quickly after ordering. The staff themselves were very friendly and the entire experience was faultless. Only thing holding it back is the decor, which is a little tired, but that didn't get in the way of our dining experience.

We ordered a deliveroo, it was with us fresh and warm within 20 mins! The falafel and mixed shawarma wraps were fresh, clean and so tasty! The best we have had. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and will definitely be ordering again. Thank you!

We have walked past the entrance to the cafe multiple times but have never gone in before today. We had a really tasty couple of shwarma wraps for lunch. Service was friendly and efficient. Small space but also plenty of space to sit in the courtyard on a nice day. We will definitely go back. Very handy for the Theatre and Rock City.

Lovely little find, good option for a quick lunch wrap.

We ordered a few wraps and chips for a social Friday lunch at work, through Uber eats, expecting the delivery time to be as stated which was 30-40 minutes. An hour later, we will still waiting. On calling the restaurant, the woman was rude, dismissive and said “if you want to complain, complain about Uber”. Another 40 minutes later, a person turned up on a bicycle. The food was cold, wet, the oven chips were soggy, my colleague found a bit of plastic in his lamb kebeb. My chicken and halloumi wrap seemed more like a bit of grated cheddar on a lot of dark, weird looking chicken. None of us ate our food. What a disappointment.

This place is always queit, deserves more business. Cheap and quick. Check it out, great takeaway lunch spot. Falafel and schwarma delish. Won't get a cheaper lunch anywhere unless you opp for a soulless supermarket meal deal.

Ordered via Deliveroo and turned up just 20 mins later - the fastest delivery i have ever had! Food was tasty and dif to the portions I am used to in London but all the same very tasty. Had the cheese sambousek that are like cheese filled samosa and vine leaves and tabbouleh - just the right amount to fill me up!

The restaurant is down an alley and very basic inside. It advertises as providing food from Palestine, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon. A perusal of the eclectic menu indicates this is the case. If you like "Arab" food then this is the place for you. We had lunch and both of our meals were really good in all respects. Service was friendly and efficient and prices very reasonable. A real gem and we will most definitely return.

Oh my God! I can't believe I have only just found about this gem of a restaurant, due to a pay day lunch at work.

We ordered a bunch of different choices for a large team lunch (30+ people). All the food was ready to go (which some extra baklava thrown in by the friendly owners).

The food was amazing! We ordered a large buffet takeaway which was ideal for occasions/ work meals etc. The owners are really helpful and kind. They even added some extras to our order. My friend who is from Lebanon says that the food tastes authentic. Recommend!

We visited for lunch and found the food to be very good. There was so many nice things on the menu, it was difficult to decide what to have. The service was friendly and welcoming and the food well cooked and nicely presented. The tea was very nice too. Will definitely return, hopefully on a regular basis. This place is very good for light lunches and at reasonable prices too.
