Ordered 5 pizzas for my daughter’s birthday, had to change and add to the order a couple of times too and Roberta who served me could not have been more accommodating. Many thanks team, the pizzas were great and the kids loved them!

Received completely the wrong pizza with meat I don’t eat. Promised credit on next online order but that’s a lie - how can you get credit on online order without code etc… very disappointing and particularly as you now charge £2.50 on top for delivery

They forgot part of the order, the only good thing was the delivery driver who seemed on the ball.

Dominos guy called me asking “do you want your pizza or not” claiming he’s outside my door I went outside in the pouring rain looking for him up and down my whole road just for him to say “wrong number” and hung up the phone on me

DONT BUY FROM THIS PLACE. They are all scammers. Ordered online they gave medium for large pizza also the pizza came late and was completely cold. Second they gave wrong order and their leftovers plus very small portions.

Always awesome! Staff changes over time but they all look after you very well! Can’t fault their pizza making abilities-tastes awesome the next day as well-heat it in the microwave and then stick it on a hit pan for a minute and you’ll be devouring those crusts!

Super quick and efficient service. Did a bulk collection order and everything was perfect.

Couldn't be bothered to spread the toppings, so just 3/4 of pizza had any and all of one topping was on 1/3. The other pizza was a large half and half which was 70% meat toppings and 30% the veg side meaning one person got almost nothing.

It was very delicious.. I chose pizza with cheddar between couple layers.

Only used them because they deliver. Used to be good, but last two delivery orders from them took about an hour to arrive and previously 1.5 hrs. Obviously this affects the quality of pizza which arrived luke warm and cold by the time you eat the second slice. Will now have to collect from another branch instead as they dont deliver.

When you come across businesses like this you wonder how they are staying alive. I called them and asked do they do an any pizza any size deal and the guy said "which one", I repeated myself and he said "which one" again with some attitude. I slowly said the deal I wanted and then thought if he can't understand a simple question how is he going to make my pizza, I told him to forget it.

I’ve read some of the reviews on this forum and can’t correlate with my own experience. We’ve used this Dominos for years for delivery, and in all that time, only two real mistakes. Yesterday, the crusts of both pizzas were the wrong ones, but to be fair, not a massive issue as the toppings were generous and tasty as always. The other time, one pizza was completely wrong but a quick call and both were replaced quite quickly. Delivery times can vary but without exception, the delivery drivers are friendly and pizza is usually still nicely hot, sometimes not as much as we would prefer, but never had a cold one. Our experience is one of a value for money convenient and tasty treat.

Amazing service, I ordered over the phone. The staff member on the phone was lovely and very attentive. I asked for the best deal they were currently offering, and he provided me with their current offers. Pizza was delivered in a timely manner, I ordered a chicken feast and a veg supreme. I recieved the chicken feast, however, the second pizza was not the veg supreme which I had ordered, it was another vegetarian pizza. I didn't call the store to inform them as I was happy with the alterative. 15 minutes later, a member of the team turned up at my door and informed me there was a mix-up. He delivered the veg supreme although I informed him we were happy with what we recieved. Humanly mistake but the fact they tried to retify without even recieving a call, shows great customer service. So we got an extra pizza, which you can never go wrong with. I will be ordering again.Thank you very much!

A bit late on the review but the manager went out of his way to come and deliver me sauce free of charge which I thought was excellent customer care & service as it was only one item. It wasn’t a major deal but he made it a must to make sure I had everything from my order which is great 👍🏽 😁

Ordered Vegi Volcano. Hard to find vegetables there. Taste is not great! Mighty Meaty one was good.

Basically, food wasn’t terrible but wasn’t good. And you expect it to be good for that price. £28 steak wasn’t well seasoned. Risotto was decent. But cover anything in Parmesan and it’s going to be tasty. Mussels weren’t great. Wine was warm and cost nearly £20 for a bottle.Servers were nice enough but there was a technical issue with our order which meant it was very late. They owned up to that one to be fair, and mistakes happen, but was bit annoying on a weekday night.Apparently this used to be owned by different owners and had great chefs. So it was good enough to charge those prices. Suspect it’s playing off that reputation and hoping people don’t notice the quality of the food has gone downhill.Not the worst place in the world but you can get a lot better food for a lot cheaper elsewhere.

So this place was taken over about a year ago, and although its never exactly been a pub where you can find good value, its now reached ridiculous levels. Obviously the new owners are keen to milk their cash cow. I dont bother eating here, as its ridiculous money for a standard pub meal, but the pints are all now at least £6, which is a blatant rip off. Avoid, unless you are absolutely minted!

Went for a Sunday roast here the other day and everyone was so friendly and nice, one of the best roasts I’ve had in London and Kalleigh our waitress was so lovely. Definitely will be back after lockdown

Went with my family and had the most wonderful time- felt very COVID safe and we had the nicest lady and gent serve us the whole night, and the food was also absolutely amazing! Will definitely come back because not only was it the best burger I’ve had in a while but also because the staff were so lovely!!

This was the first time I'd been to The Palmerston (no idea why I'd not been before!) and I could not fault anything! The staff were friendly and took the time to engage with guests, orders were taken promptly and we were checked on regularly. We had the mussels and the burger - both of which were really tasty - I highly recommend the mussels! Then to follow we had the creme brulee and marquis - again both really good and I'm very picky about my creme brulee - if you can wack the brulee with a spoon to crack the top its not worth having... I was not disappointed! I would not hesitate in going back and can not understand some of these one star reviews being left - most seem to dwell on the change in management (bad blood maybe?!) but from what I experienced there was absolutely nothing I could criticise.As Arnie says... Fuimos a comer y beber al final del feriado nacional. Han preparado muy bien el montaje; el camino a los baños es muy claro y la necesidad de registrarse en la entrada se clasifica con un código QRS. La comida fue excelente, el servicio aún mejor y toda la experiencia fue un placer.Definitivamente regresaremos y un gran agradecimiento a la gerencia y al personal por una experiencia verdaderamente placentera.

Popped in for a Sunday roast. The service was quick and friendly and the roast lamb was delicious - definitely recommend!

Had the chicken Sunday lunch. It was amazing! Didn't have to wait long for the food to arrive and it didn't dissapoint. Massive portions and tasted amazing. Will be coming here again.

Asado de domingo increíble aquí hoy, nuestra primera visita a este pub. El servicio fue bueno y la comida era fantástica. Tuvimos una cena de pollo asado y el tamaño de la porción era enorme, realmente sabrosa y con una buena relación calidad-precio. Gran selección de cervezas y cervezas de barril también. The place has changed hands. It’s not the nice gastro pub it used to be. It’s just an everyday pub with bad service and bad food. Don’t go there to eat. Have a drink and that is all I would recommend.

Was hesitant to try this pub as I had heard mixed reviews related to change in ownership.Popped in on a Saturday with the wife. She had mussels and I had a Steak. We both enjoyed our meals and the staff was pleasant. Actually one of the better steaks I’ve had in awhile! Give this place a try if your craving a ribeye.

My partner and I walked into the Palmerston for dinner. We had seen that there were at least 5 free tables with no reservations from the side windows. We walked in and found a seat only to be quite rudely told we couldn’t just walk in off the street. We walked out. Having read the recent reviews, it sounds like it was a fortuitous swerve on our part. If the Palmerston is fully booked, why doesn’t it have reserved signs up? Why is it so difficult to be polite?

The Palmerston was once a gastronomic jewel in SE22. Sadly now under new ownership. Had their Sunday lunch sharing board, which in theory is a nice notion, in practice three slabs of dry traditional meats and two side dishes of assorted vegetables covered in a brown puddle of gravy. I found some rather mushy cauliflower cheese drowning under the other veg. Poor execution of a traditional meal that’s hard to do badly

I have lived in the Dulwich area for most of my life and for the last 15 years The Palmerston has been an institution, it is so far from that now it's a joke. Management changed hands back in June 2019 and the team that made it brilliant have left and now it is a shambles. Don't be fooled by the name, it is so far away from what it was, it's quite phenomenal.... think when Chris Evans took over presenting Top Gear. I won't bother highlighting my experience, but succinctly they fleeced us for a significant amount of money on Christmas Day, selling a Christmas experience that had no experience and if we could have, we would have left- but as it was Christmas day, we had no contingency (party of 13 people) and had to pay... The only one redeeming factor was the junior staff, working on their Christmas day, who tried their best.Tried a number of times to communicate with The Palmerston directly and discreetly via email, but on both attempts they just ignored me..... bad service on the day, even worse customer service afterwards and that's before i get on to the poor food that we received on the day - rubbish! Items missing on the plate, cold and just thrown down on the table when served. Stay away from the Palmerston.

Came here with a friend for dinner in December, we found the service, food and general feel were all excellent. We both had the Ribeye Steak which was just delicious and perfectly cooked. We will definitely be back soon for more of the same!

Quite frankly the worst Xmas meal ever had. Arrived at 2.30 for a meal start at 3... we eventually got our starter at 4.15 ( one of which was inedible and cold) ... the main course arrived about 5.30.... mine was in a dish?? Badly presented and tasteless - I left nearly all of it.... dessert arrived at 6.15 ok’ish - one was a cheese platter which we wrapped up to take home.Pretty shambolic all round. No Xmas decor on tables. Wrong cutlery for the food ordered.Would never eat there again.

Outstanding hospitality. We walked past on a cold Christmas Day evening. They had finished serving but invited us in for a mulled wine on the house. Merry Christmas!

service was generally fine but the standard here has dropped even below your average local, prices still high , food below par - cold fries , focaccia bread just normal white bread , steaks under and over cooked , no dressings to sides , don’t normally complain but have pushed to mention this as the restaurant used to be amazing. The speed at which the new ownership has managed to undo it’s previous reputation takes some doing . Congrats on that front . Won’t be returning

I have eaten here a few times and was looking forward to another fine dining experience here last night. What a disappointment. No specials, no oysters, a very limited menu. The Douro wine was lovely hence the 2 stars. My rabbit terrine had no rabbit flavour, was dry and crumbled and was served with dry toasted brioche. So you end up with a mass of dry crumbs on your plate with nothing sticking together. I used the relish to bind it together but that had no flavour either. As for the butternut squash risotto I seriously think your cook (obviously not a chef) needs to return to basics and learn the art of making a risotto. Italian rice is available so please do not use long grain and simply stir through some squash and decorate it. That was not a risotto but savoury rice. Dry and tasteless. Risottos should be cooked with stock and wine, be creamy in considtency, then have some the vegetables added during the process and cheese stirred through at the end making it a lovely creamy dish. Yours was just dry cooked rice with diced vegetables stirred into it. How can you get it so wrong? We were both disappointed and walked up the road for an Italian gelato for dessert. I will not mention the service as other reviews cover this. No need to return here I am afraid, will dine elsewhere in the future when staying in East Dulwich. I understand the pub has changed hands from other reviews here. Sad.

The pub is nice enough and the staff are friendly, but the last two times I've been there, both on a Saturday at about 5 pm, the Palmerston had no draught bitter. Frankly, the pub side of the business is a bit of a shambles, Lord only knows who is in charge. Best try elsewhere until they learn about beer/cellar management.

I was interested to see what the ‘ new ‘ Palmerston would be like . The ‘ old ‘ Palmerston was perfect , beautiful food , fantastic , warm staff , great pub / dining room . Well , they’ve destroyed this fantastic pub . Service was appalling , long wait for menus , half the menu was unavailable , fixed price menu was unavailable . Food itself was average , £8 for a chocolate torte that you could get eight portions from in Waitrose for £5 . Why , why , why . . . I will never return

What happened here? We're locals and have always thought of the Palmerston as a safe bet. We went once on a Sunday after it first changed hands last June and had what we thought was one of the best roasts we'd ever eaten - exciting start.

First time visiting since it was taken over by new management. Pleased to report it still has the best Sunday roast in East Dulwich.

We had a reservation for brunch at 9am on Sunday morning, confirmed by email from the Palmerston itself (not from a booking platform). We arrived at 8.55. Place locked and deserted. No answer when we telephoned. Stayed outside till 9.05. Noone appeared. Went and had a nice breakfast elsewhere in Dulwich Village instead.

Visited on Monday evening at 6.30pm. They had already run out of a starter of carrots! And 2 mains. We chose the Gnocci with butternut squash. I’ve never tasted gnocci like this. I only ate the butternut squash. I told them I didn’t like it. However we were charged for it! Very very poor! I am now going home to eat some food!

The service was slow and the waiter forgot to order our main. It’s expensive for the price and wouldn’t recommend given the choice of great restaurants and pubs in the area.

Visited on Saturday evening at 8pm. They had already run out of three of the main main courses. The wine we chose was also not available. The pasta dish was poor. The only fish main course option was plaice, which was good but the side order of chips didn’t appear with the order and only came after some prompting, halfway through the meal. The three tables in the ‘restaurant section ‘ are very small and close together- difficult to get into the middle one if you are over a size 8/10. .

Y algunas de las mesas y sillas ahora son del tipo que tiene que avanzar, ¿por qué?

Estuvimos en la zona durante una semana visitando a la familia. Nunca hemos estado en este pub antes, pero estoy contento de haberlo hecho. Nuestra hija nos dijo que había sido reformado recientemente. El lugar era acogedor y cómodo, y el personal del bar era muy amable y servicial. Desafortunadamente ya habíamos comido, pero el menú se veía muy atractivo, y muy diferente de algunos otros restaurantes en el área. El vino era muy bueno, y considerablemente más barato que otros bares / restaurantes cercanos. . . .

Food was good .Excellent steak. I thought my sons bream was very small for a main but he enjoyed it .Nice atmosphere and lovely building. The smell of the mussels was just gorgeous ..Don't much like mussels normally but will order next time

We have eaten here a few times and have always enjoyed the meals, until last Sunday. Two of the party had the beef, which was fine, but the Yorkshire was undercooked and doughy.

My sister organised a large family gathering here to celebrate a couple of birthdays and to remember absent members. The catering and arrangements for such a large party with different requirements and guests over a wide range of ages 9-86 were excellent and better than we could have hoped for. Would happily go there again and sample the ambience of the bar (good choice of well kept ales.)

Had dinner in the Palmerston last night and must say I was very disappointed. I have been eating there for many years and rated it one of my favourite and consistently good quality places in Dulwich but not this time and wonder what has changed, the chef, the supplies, management? I ordered Hake it came uncooked and cold I couldn’t eat it and when I mentioned it the waiter he came back saying “the chef is happy with it and she thinks it was perfect” they gave me the sea brim instead which came unusually hot, probably the kitchen was annoyed and microwaved it the shrimp salad mix which came with it was salty and tasteless. My friend’s stake was totally raw and rubbery. A very disappointing and very expensive experience.Totally disappointed and dissatisfied and will never come back to eat there but like it for a drink.

We visited for a relaxed Friday lunch at the Palmerston and we all struggled to choose from the menu. The welcome in this place from all the staff is genuine and warm, and the decor and ambience creates a traditional pub feel yet retains an individual style. This has clearly been imprinted on the place by the “family” which is the staff. And then there’s the food... such an imaginative collaboration of flavours. I love the way this place balances great restaurant food and yet is still a local pub enjoyed by locals, which is clearly evident from individuals enjoying a pint and a read of the paper, as well as couples and small groups enjoying a tasty lunch. This is my second visit to dine here and the vibe in this place is clearly created by the love put into it by the staff, creating a truly unique venue!

I have eaten at this pub often however the Saturday Brunch was very disappointing. The service was poor, selection disappointing and to add insult to injury we were overcharged and tip added .

We took my mother in law here for Sunday lunch on his birthday, always busy so you have to book. Food and service excellent every time.

Palmerston is a lively venue. We had excellent service. The meal was delightful with the star turn being venison. This game was very well prepared and cooked and was meltingly tasty. We shall be back.

Continuing our local tour of Sunday roast spots this pub came highly recommended. Unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. The beef was very good, pink and flavoursome, but the roast potatoes and yorkie puds both very dry and overcooked. A particular stingy amount of gravy didn't help and the horseradish was more like mayonnaise. Some average wines on offer too. All very disappointing given the price tags.

in the heart of the buzzing East Dulwich community, the food is of very good quality, with an old English pub atmosphere. But watch out for the wine list, while a good list, the price is a the top end & rather expensive

Visited for an early evening meal with family and we were made most welcome. Nice easy relaxed pub style atmosphere and an interesting menu. Quality of food and beverages was to a high standard and I would have no hesitation in recommending a visit.

Have had dozens of wonderful meals here over the years but last Sunday's roast lunch was more akin to school dinners than their usual sumptuous spread..The meat was Ok but badly let down by reheated potatoes, small amounts of veg plonked on plate instead of served separately, small amount of gravy poured on (no jug) and very stodgy old looking and virtually inedible Yorkshire pudding. I emailed asking if there was a staff problem on the day but as there was no reply can only imagine this is what Sunday roasts will be like in future...a great shame.

Nos detuvimos en un almuerzo de celebración y tuvimos una comida increíble. El iniciador de burrata, higo y trufa fue sublime, sin escatimar en la trufa. Mi conejo estaba perfectamente preparado y las costillas de mi marido era fabuloso. Ambos tuvimos el maravilloso pavlova como postre. La casa roja fue un gran acompañamiento a la comida. El servicio era amable y relajado. Una excelente experiencia durante todo el año.

Had Sunday lunch at Palmeston today with family. Great ambience and decor, however, too hot, no vegetarian roast option and when we asked if we could have the roast vegetables and yorkshire that was part of the beef roast to add to the only veg option of Squash and quinoa were told that they were too busy and the chef had not ordered enough vegetables and we county have a Yorkshire!!

Appalled by the level of service at Palmerston. Having intended to drink and dine the attitude of the bar staff when requesting menus put us off staying. Obviously the ginger bar maid has the need for more (or even some!) customer service training.

I've been bringing friends to eat here for over 7 years and have never had a bad meal. The food is consitently good, the atmosphere is relaxed and the staff always do thier best to accomodate special dietry requirements. Booking is recomended to avoid disappointment - Enjoy!

We popped in for lunch and decided to have several starters instead of main courses. Everything was fantastic. The food was so fresh and flavoursome. I enjoyed the gnocchi and cabbage (who knew cabbage could taste so good!) whilst the others enjoyed the mackerel, steak tartare and the burrata. The bread was also very good as was the olive oil. We weren’t expecting it to be such high quality and were very pleasantly surprised. I’ll be back to try more of the menu soon.

Had a Sunday roast there last Sunday and after eating a dodgy oyster it's took me until this Friday to muster the strength to write this and I'm still not quite right.the food is ok but in my opinion overpriced at twenty pounds for some very rare slices of beef three potatoes a tiny piece of broccoli and the most over elaborate Yorkshire puddings I've come across.it was as hard as concrete and had no filling inside but it looked good safe to say I will not be returning soon

I go here with hubby on date nights and sometimes we take the family for a special occasion. The food is generally excellent and the staff are lovely, attentive but relaxed and friendly. Great place.

Had a great steak that was cooked well and was super tasty and well presented. Superb hot crispy chips and a salad. Service was good and the place is cool. Will I’m sure be back soon.
