Very popular, so quite noisy. Service is incredible. Very polite and very fast. Food is great and always piping hot. Recommend sharing one portion of rice between two people. Portion sizes are large.

Ordered shared duck starter and all the food was cold. Put us off rest of the meal, which was nothing to phone home about. Clean and good service shame about the food.

Wow !! I’ve been going there over 30 years and go several times a month Tonight was perfect and the food was lovely we ate chattered and when we asked for the bill there was a service charge of 10 percent which is annoying as we always leave a good tip so I paid my half of the bill and my friend paid the rest on his card but opted not to pay the service charge on principle, she asked him to pay half, he declined so she said but the staff served you and you don’t want to pay a penny ! At this point I couldn’t keep my mouth shut I said it’s law they have to pay the staff so why put service charge on ? She said it’s optional ,so I said we opted not to pay it on principle she said it’ un fair as staff served us , I went on to say, so what your telling us is never to come here again as I refuse to be confronted and she tried to Shame us into paying a tip !! By by pagoda it’s the last time I’m ever going there what disgusting behaviour !!

Brilliant choice of food some which are new to me and most surely cooked fresh. A relaxing atmosphere, a great treat 👍

Paid £50 for 4 people and we’re all so disappointed with our food. Chose Pagoda for takeaway as its a restaurant so assumed quality would be better. Food was cold, bland, meat was sparse. Extremely upset as I love Chinese and waited all week for this. Would not reccomend, shame.

Dirty, poor quality and unhelpful staff, food served in PLASTIC tubs, this is a restaurant not a child’s birthday party

The staff were extremely rude all shouting with masks on. The food as always was very tasty. The chilli beef needed re heating but was lovley when hot, the lady behind the plastic screen needs some customer service training, don't drink the Stella it tastes like vinger but the Chinese beer is fine.

AVOID at all costs!! Came here tonight within 2 minutes waiter come over and said are you ready to order yet , all staff are very rude & just stare and watch you eat which makes you feel very uncomfortable!!! Food was edible but nothing fancy and nothing had no taste , this if far from restaurant quality!! My other half took the little one to the toilet & as they was coming down the steps a waiter had asked them if they had finished there food which I also found very rude , overall a very poorly run business and there prices are disgusting £2.90 for a children’s fruit shoot , please go else where!!!!

This used to be my go to restaurant for Chinese / Cantonese food. A place I love despite being a little expensive. How massively disappointed I was on my most recent visit. I can only guess that The Pagoda is now under new ownership. Our visit of 6 people was on a Saturday evening. We were met by very polite staff but that was the end of the enjoyment. We were charged something like £3.70 for a half pint of coke with ice. The last of the starters that we ordered was brought to the table 15 minutes after the first one arrived. Surely it must get better, but no. The first main course was brought to the table nearly 5 minutes before anything else arrived. The other 5 meals along with the chips and rice arriving over a period of time, one at a time. The portions of food especially the rice and chips are now very much smaller. Then to top it all off, the bill had an £11:70 service charge. Sadly my last ever visit unless things change quickly. So disappointed.

My wife and I rate this place as the best Chinese restaurant in the Wakefield area. Good food, well presented and reasonably priced. Best to book at the weekend.

11st time here last night staff overeager to move you along when eating .. hovering over our friend till he had last mouthful .. Had chow mein but just noodles , must be their way of doing it maybe .. but bland .. Salad n pepper chips .. needed salt ironically .. but it was just chips with cold onion bits n chilli's .. not worth money .. 3 of us not overly impressed .. Starter 1 main each 1 drink each just short £90..

Family meal for 6l food a bit bland has been better. service was quick,staff hovering to take your plates even waiters at either side of me while I was drinking grabbing plates cutlery felt rushed,staff need a bit more training in been polite 😔...

Horrible food. I’m so shocked if any place can serve food that is this bad? And they expect you to pay for that? Staff were friendly though, but we couldn’t finish our meal. Avoid hot and sour soup!!! I have no idea what that even trying to be, slimy and disgusting. Everything extremely slimy with artificial taste and lots of sugar, deep fired duck wasn’t deep fried at all. Tasted like microwaved. Sizzling beef tasteless, meat with weird texture and no taste at all. Very sad and disappointing experience

The food was tasty but the chips wasn't fresh and the staffs came many times for asking it makes customers uncomfortable and I finished my meal but my partner didn't finish it and she wanted to keep her meal and eat it slowly but they took all the dishes ...

Came for a meal was watched every minute whilst eating food and waitresses kept walking to the table to see if we had finished with our food or not, got home and started throwing up and the day after with food poisoning!

Well my wife and I went for a meal here with the inlaws, where do I start the food was raw undercooked and very bland, the staff watched eat every fork full which I /we found very uncomfortable, the best bit is they TRIED to sneak a 10% service charge on our bill which we didn’t pay as the food is expensive enough. If you want a good Chinese meal give this place a wide birth

Takeaway quality food, rude staff, and service was poor.

The service was very slow, meals were all brought out at different times so some of our party had finished their meal before other's were even brought out, we had to ask quite a few times about food they had forgotten. The rice was out 15 minutes before the main meals and was cold,dry and tasteless. Not a good experience.

Went to the toilets upstairs, and when I went to wash my hands, the water inside the toilets urinals and other sink started to rise and the food that I got was cold and wet.

Always amazing service and food always tastes great. Lovely atmosphere and staff can’t do any more for us , we’ve moved away and still return here :)

Had a lovley meal friendly waiters

Restaurant was empty and my whole meal I had 5 staff members just staring and watching us eat. Didn't try and hide it, made it plain obvious that they was staring and then kept asking if we was finished when we was all clearly still eating. Most uncomfortable meal ever.

After finishing work at 8pm myself and a couple of friends decided to go out for some food due to it been one of our birthdays we got here and sat down for 20:30-20:45 latest from when we sat down we were nothing but rushed for drinks rushed for starters then got told we had 45 minutes to finish absolutely everything as they were closing. This wouldn't be an issue but every member of staff had a terrible attitude the drinks were flat the mains arrived half way through having our starter and the food was no better than any I've had from a Chinese takeaway on a Saturday night which also may I add i don't think I'd of been charged £89 for. After finishing and complaining to staff they were nothing but rude and couldn't get us out of the place quick enough and we're even cheeky enough to try get us to contact less pay on our card twice even though we had told them the payment had gone through and proved this on a mobile banking app. Put it this way I'd rather sign my self up to eating my own foot than step back in this place ever again shocking service shocking food and way overpriced.

Shocked tbh. Heard good about this place so went tonight. Rude staff no smiles not good service at all really. Food was poor had better from local Chinese takeaway. All dishes tasted quite bland. Quite disappointed as the bill was over 100 pounds.. they is a aldi near by so if your thinking of trying here maybe just grab some ingredients from aldi instead. in my opinion not good and its s shame because chinese food is my favorite and this was a let down

Ordered a szechuan chicken stir fry. The very least I expect from a szechuan dish is szechuan peppercorns. What I got was chicken in a sweet and sour sauce with some scant chillies. Real shame.

Great restaurant and great takeaway. staff are very friendly and welcoming. food is top quality. and was all very clean and tidy. would defo recommend anyone to give this a try

We travel from Leeds frequently for a take away as it’s the best, but tonight’s food was extremely poor I ordered steak and received a prawn dish, chicken was cold and the chips were hard, usually happy to pay top money for a takeaway but tonight was a waste of £29 Will think twice about going again

Disgusting food came out too fast and lukewarm, tasted bland and meat tasted funny to the point we couldn’t eat it at all! We got duck starter what was full of fat! The manger came over and totally disregarded what we had to say about the food and tried to make an excuse by saying it’s Because it’s cooked in black bean sauce hahaha!!! Like we had never tasted that before he said the would take £6 off are meal for this! My parents doesn’t like to say anything usually when we eat out and even he was disappointed! Avoid this place it the worse Chinese I have ever eaten from in my life!

Didn't feel welcome from the whole experience. The male middle age waiter was very abrupt told us what to order and wasn't friendly, they actually lost out on more of a order as he walked off. The food was standard what I expect from any Chinese takeaway but I did think the salt n pepper ribs were very good. Solid 3 stars poor service average food. Won't go back in a rush. 2+ the real rating but not a option good rep but pretty poor.

What a disaster when for a birthday party. Did not choose the set menu like most of party. Ordered plain chicken with nothing on it and chips said I would wait to get my meal when the rest of party got there main meal. What arrived was chicken in bread crumbs so sent it back. Sat there watching everyone eat eventually got my meal when all the party had finished. Whilst eating on my own looked at waiters hovering waiting to clear table not a nice feeling

Service food and atmosphere were fabulous last night. Looked full when we walked in but they managed to squeeze a four in and it was a unanimous thumbs up from us all. Still the number one Chinese in the area

After a very busy day we went for tea. It was yummy. Its one of our "go to" restaurants.

Sunday evening. Set menu between 4. Absolutely loads of food, was almost full before the mains cames out. Soup/Starters and Duck were great. Mains OK but think would have preferred to order my own in the end rather than what was on the set menu.

First time ever in this restaurant. Its brilliant, the lazy susan is a nice touch aswell. We will definitely be visiting again this year. Another local joint we are greatfull to have.

Went for early bird tea as I dont eat big portions. Food was nasty! Chicken chow mein: presentation was unappetizing; was bland and slimy; chicken was some kind of reconstituted stuff and inedible. Staff were rude and uncaring. Would not recommend. I've only given it 1 star in reality it was zero.

Excellent Cantonese restaurant with a wide-ranging menu, good service and pleasant staff. Best in the area in my opinion.

If you want food poisoning this is the place- so yesterday I got chicken fried rice- curry sauce salt pepper chips- ended up being sick all night and still am now rang to tell them and they just put me on hold for 5 minutes not happy at all - do not recommend

Loved the food and the staff were very friendly. My only criticism is the birthday song that played 6 times whilst we were there and it's that loud you can't hold a conversation with the person sitting next to you.

A little bit hit and miss but as we were in a big group, we had plenty of dishes to share. The crispy beef in chilli was delicious, black bean chow mein lovely, but the sizzling skewers were chewy - so it depends on what you order. A very good selection of starters and nice to see sesame chicken toast for the non-seafood eaters! Very efficient service.

Saturday afternoon thought it would be lovely, the food was foul, the meat tasted disgusting. I’m so angry we paid £90, I walked out and left my partner to pay because he’s soft and wouldn’t say anything, had to walk out because if I didn’t I would have lost my cool, I wouldn’t feed my dog it.

Got a rice to share that wouldn't feed a mouse but food was good

Super gutes und richtig leckeres Restaurant, ist vielleicht ein bisschen teurer, trotzdem wirst du zufrieden aus dem Lokal gehen wenn du die Ente gefüllt mit Krabbenfleisch probiert hast. 👌 Das ist der Ort den du besuchen solltest wenn du nach Wakefield kommst. Very nice and super delicious Chinese Restaurant, may it's a little bit fancy for Wakefield but the deep fried duck filled with prawn meat is worth every pence. If u are staying on wakefield you have to try it👌

Very nice and family-friendly 👌 superb food

Visited on Fathers Day, food was alright, started with Half Aromatic Crispy Duck with pancakes and plum sauce. Came pre-shredded so not as hot and fresh as would have hoped. Worst thing was we ran out of pancakes and they charged me £3 for 6 more. The duck skin wasn't as flavorful as many I've had. Enjoyed the mains, chicken and cashew nuts and the special chow mean with Crispy noodles. Overall 7/10.

Used to absolutely love this place, been coming here regularly for years. But recently the menu has changed, particularly the set meals. Unfortunately this has made the quality of food drop. Alot of the staff have been replaced by younger staff, they're polite enough but don't engage in much conversation like the old staff used to. Our last visit left us underwhelmed. We may try again... But I don't think we'd be ordering the set meals anymore, which is a huge shame.

First time - Lovely lunchtime meal, did the 2 course special. Would of preffered a couple of extra choices for starters. Other than that food good, staff attentive. Needs a bit of an update insude , but doesn't affect the food.

We dined in on a Saturday night. The place was full but the service was eager and spot on. Drinks came quickly and then the food was brought out without too much wait between courses. We had duck stuffed with prawn meat and the sweet and sour king prawns. The food was fresh and tasty and the sharing starter in particular was lovely. Not a word of complaint, even the folks on the next table enjoyed their food too although the lady was asked about 6 times if she wanted to order a drink 😂. We don’t know their names but they made our night extra special too.

Tried for 3 days to call and book a table but no one wanted to answer the phone. I left a message but no one replied. Not a very good practice if I'm honest. Just an update..... I finally got in and had a meal with my wife, Although the service was top notch the meal I had was absolutely disgusting. Don't get me wrong we've been here several times and it's always been brilliant both service and food, Unfortunately this time it was far from good, and for £55 I definitely was expecting better. I equated it to having people's leftovers. Sadly I won't be going again.
