Padella in Southwark

Horrible esta noche. Descargue la aplicación Dojo y se le dio una hora aproximada de 9 pm. Mantuve mi ojo en ella, y revisé alrededor de las 8. 30 después de c. 20 minutos sin mirar. App me dijo que me habían echado de la cola y perdido mi espacio. Tuve que intentar encontrar una alternativa a última hora. No construyas tu noche alrededor. Podría ser una gran comida. Pero un riesgo de nunca llegar a probarlo.

Mi esposo llegó temprano y se unió a la cola virtual del Dojo. Decía una hora de espera. Me dio esa información y salió a caminar. Llegué allí una hora después y la aplicación le había dicho otros 45 minutos. Fui al Maitre d’ y pregunté por qué. No había una explicación real, pero como ella estaba siendo bastante displicente, dos hombres aparecieron, pidieron una mesa para dos y ella los llevó a cabo. Les pregunté si habían reservado y dijeron que no, que acababan de llegar. Pregunté esto con el frente helado de la casa y ella dijo que tenían un miembro de la familia que trabajaba en la cocina. Estaba algo confundido por esto. Le pregunté si pensaba que este sistema era justo. – ¿Qué quieres que te diga? Preguntó. Ella nos ofreció una mesa afuera en la calle, y aunque hacía frío y no era lo que quería, de alguna manera lo acepté mansamente. Dispárame por tener hambre y ahora más que un poco ansioso por un vaso de rojo toscano. Di tres estrellas por la buena comida - adornado con una gran cantidad de mal servicio al cliente y actitud. Nuestras bebidas terminaron compensándose. Y nos dieron pan gratis. Pero necesitan abordar su sistema de colas o ceder y aceptar reservas. No estoy seguro de si volvería.

Padella no acepta reservas, así que es un poco palabrería tratando de conseguir una mesa, ya que obviamente está muy ocupado por las noches alrededor del Puente de Londres. Encontramos un pub cerca e intentamos usar la aplicación Dojo durante aproximadamente una hora, y nos dijeron que la cola estaba llena. Como último intento de zanja, fuimos al restaurante directamente y nos dijeron que dejáramos nuestro número con la encantadora camarera. Después de unos 45 minutos, recibimos una llamada para decir que nuestra mesa estaba lista, ¡así que no pierdas la esperanza si la aplicación no funciona! La comida en sí era absolutamente increíble. Tenía el ragu de res y mi amigo tenía el chile y la pasta de ajo. Probablemente es la mejor comida italiana que he comido en el Reino Unido y a un precio razonable para la zona también. Los maridajes de vinos eran fantásticos - recomiendo el primotivo y el servicio era excelente. Me gustaría visitar el 100% de nuevo y le recomiendo encarecidamente dar una oportunidad a este lugar - no te decepcionará.

Nuestro anfitrión, Steffi, era increíble y nos hizo sentir como en casa. La comida - cualquier cosa que escribo no podría hacerle justicia aparte de decir que esto es una necesidad para cualquier visita a Londres!

Mangiare italiano a Londra si può, pasta fresca cucinata a vista, ottima materia prima, primi cucinati alla perfezione . Nota di merito alla cameriera Stefi , prezzi nella media.

I recently ate in padella, Shoreditch. And it exceeded my high expectations in every area, including the service. Our waiter was both personable and professional. The food was like no other , the standard of the food was exceptional and very reasonably priced. We were pleasantly surprised that children eat for free, with a generous adult portion. The slow cooked tomato sauce, Dorset crab, lemon and chilli and the cacio e pepe were all a must try. The next time we are in London we cannot wait to go back .

visited the Padella restaurant located in Borough Market last week. for main course I orderd cavatelli cavolo nero and for dessert i chose pear & almond tart. Great service, accurate recommendations and directions to recommended dishes, great food at a high level, warm and pleasant atmosphere, service at an exceptional level. and one stunning waitress which upgraded the visit to particularly enjoyable one ❤️ can't wait for next time there

Ambiance décontractée dans un resto acollé au borough market. Une dizaine d'entrée, une dizaine de plats de pâtes, il n'en faut pas plus pour se régaler. La cuisson est bonne, les sauces savoureuses, bref, une bell réussite. Prix londoniens.

Nous nous sommes régalés : restaurant de pâtes sur le pouce : les cacio e pepe étaient vraiment délicieuses, tandis que les pâtes ragu pas mal (bien que je n’ai pas été très fan de la forme des pâtes). Portions satisfaisantes, elles pourraient être un peu plus généreuses. Les desserts étaient très bon (mention spéciale pour la tarte amande). Le service fut rapide et de qualité !

Eine hübsche Location mit tollem, italienischen Essen. Obwohl in vielen Bewertungen steht, dass die Buchung und Reservation z.T. schwierig oder mühsam sei kann ich nichts dergleichen berichten. Ich bin (alleine) spontan vorbeigegangen und habe einen Platz bekommen. Das Personal ist TOP freundlich und kümmert sich um die Gäste. Das Essen ist sehr gut und die Küche verdient die Auszeichnung! Ich kann das Padella sehr empfehlen und komme gerne wieder wenn ich etwas GUTES in London essen will!

La cantidad de comida es escasa para el precio tan desorbitado al que lo cobran, los camareros están encima tuyo para que te vayas rápido y no te consultan la tip, te la ponen directamente.

Very reasonable price with this quality Hand made pasta was really good You cannot have this kind of texture in other places But have to walk in and book in advance at 1630 and dine in at 1700 Or it will be full very fast and you may need to visit them next day or wait for a few hours.

Such amazing pasta, very light and fresh. You could eat two pasta dishes and not feel bloated. Very efficient but small place to grab a bite.

Delicious pasta dishes all round! We had the NDuja and Beef shin pasta’s and they were divine. They offer a good selection of drinks and the Tiramisu is authentic! One of the best we’ve had. I can’t wait to go back again to try different dishes. The bonus was that we were seated immediately and it was a Saturday lunch time which was so appreciated if you know what the regular lines are to get in. Thank you to the team for taking good care of us!

We had an amazing lunch here yesterday, sat in the sunshine - small but perfect menu - the three pasta & focaccia we had were out of this world - reasonably priced & drinks were also lovely. Outstanding service from Stephania - what a credit to padella she is, bursting with energy & enthusiasm for the food they service - we will definately return - 5 stars!

Amazing authentic experience. Pasta dishes were incredible. Particularly recommend the Cacio e pepe. Sat on the bar watching the food being made was a fab experience. Our waitress Nura was great and attentive! 100% would recommend.

Very disappointing experience. One of the pastas was unavailable so dish had to be served with a different one. The crab dish was also unavailable. Considering how limited the menu is this is not acceptable. Moreover we were seated at a tiny table which didn’t add to the experience. I really don’t understand why this restaurant is popular.

Authentic, simple, perfect pasta. Amazing value. Friendly staff, bang in the centre of London. I can see why they’ve won so many awards. Don’t be put off by the draft wine, they have a solid small wine list. Obviously a company who have decided to keep it small and do it well. I hope they open one in Edinburgh!

The location is right across from the London Bridge Underground, which is easily accessible for a lot of folks. The food was lovely and the entire kitchen staff who are in full view of customers were fantastic! They really do love cooking and each are in command of their stations with real care for their profession. The hostess was a lovely lady who was sympathetic as the DoJo app would not allow virtual queuing. Even though you were in tight quarters, everyone was in high spirits and talking to one another over dish selection. All of this was really overshadowed by the waiter, Mark, who really rushed patrons throughout the night, even though we ordered our drinks/meal almost immediately once seated. We were in the middle of a conversation when he brought the payment machine, and when we asked for ten minutes to get things sorted, were told that we only had five minutes left on for our table, despite never being told of any time limit! A really terrible way to end a celebratory dinner, and a shame given how lovely everyone else was at the restaurant.

Bloody lovely flavoursome simple pasta dishes. Can’t believe people are complaining about the prices- I feel that £13 for a plate of pure Italian joy is a snip in London in 2024. Only my 2nd visit but both times busy, bustling, kind & energetic staff. We inhaled our food! Dillon was fabulous and helped us out with extra olive oil, Nura was lovely and Stefania (who looked after me and my Dad on my last visit) was a big character. Thumbs up all round. You just need to time it right, so you can actually get a seat :) This is what I think food would taste like if I was in Italy. Delicious.

We came here for lunch and just managed to get the last table (outside). The pasta is to die for! This is the best pasta outside of Italy. All the waitresses were friendly and helpful. The waitress who served us Stefi was amazing. Stefi spent time with us explaining the menu, which we truly appreciated. Stefi talked to us about Italian food and was generally very friendly and helpful. The wine was excellent to. We will definitely come back here again and have recommended to my Son and friends already.

Really great food here and a good vibe, unfortunately in my case was let down by the service. The server closed my ticket before I got my food, then once I had reordered and had been there 40 minutes I got given the wrong dish and had to wait again for the right one. Mistakes understandably happen but I was surprised and disappointed to see they’d kept a 12.5% service charge on the bill after those issues.

A wonderful hole in the wall, Italian dining experience focusing on apps and pasta dishes. We enjoyed the sourdough bread and burruta to start, followed by sharing the cacio & pepe and agnolotti of Delica pumpkin & Westcombe ricotta. With the pastas being made in store, that only accentuated the great taste. Simply one of the best plates of pasta we’ve ever enjoyed! Couple that with absolutely pleasant servers, and you have a great place to eat well-made, authentic Italian pasta. Looking forward to enjoying another amazing meal before leaving this cultural city.

We were in a party of 6 persons, waiting in queue for a table on Saturday 30 December 2023 at 1.30pm. Whilst in the queue, a waitress walked by (small, skinny, blonde girl with hair in a pony tail), so I asked her how long we had to wait for a table, to which she rudely cut my question off before I finished it and retorted “Ask the host!” and hurriedly disappeared into the restuarant before I had an opportunity to say anything else. I proceeded to enter the restaurant, looking for “the host”, obviously not knowing who it was and where to look, there was no staff in the vicinity of the entrance. I walked further into the restaurant and spotted the same blonde waitress who answered me earlier, and asked her who the host is, continuing to ask her why she could not assist me in finding out, to which she replied again “Ask the host”. I got annoyed and pointed out to her I can’t see the host and I can’t understand why she can’t help me out instead of sending me twice to the host. At this moment, the host suddenly appeared and told me she is the host, and unbelievably told me that I should not have spoken to the waitress in that way and that I was mean! WHAT??? I find this totally unacceptable, being in the hospitality industry myself. The waitress is clearly not well trained and she should have assisted me instead of sending me off to look for a host who was not at her position, not once but twice. The host eventually apologised to me after I insisted that should not be the way the staff offers service to the guest. We left without having lunch. Padella, as much as how delicious your food is, but I am sorry, you should look into staff training and emphasise on how they should reply the guests.

Perfect handmade pastas paired with delicious sauces. We ate downstairs, which though a bit tight had a wonderful ambience great for gossipy lunches with a friend, early dinners with out-of-town friends, or an evening escape from the adjacent madness in the Borough Market. The staff made us feel genuinely welcome and at home.

Last time I visited was about 1.5 years ago and I was surprised to see how much prices have gone up since then. For example, a fettucine dish went from ~ £9.50 to £13.50, a hefty 42% increase. Even back then the portions were quite small and maybe juuust enough to qualify as a light portion for one, but I could have easily had two. Now, the value is no longer quite there for the quality.

We joined the virtual queue and waited 67 minutes for a table to become available. When they texted to let us know we were on the other side of Borough market. The app wouldn’t let us contact the restaurant. When we arrived at the restaurant the reservations lady was extremely rude informing me that she had messaged us 20 minutes ago and usually would not allow us to have a table but on this occasion she would. (Borough market is very busy on Saturdays and it took this long for us to walk through the crowds, we are a family of 3 with an 8 year old). The reservations lady stomped off down the stairs, slammed some water glasses on the table and said you’re allowed 90 minutes. We ordered bread with oil, olives and bruschetta, cacio e pepe, crab pasta and tomato pasta, tiramisu, ice cream, with 2 glasses of wine. The bruschetta starter arrived after the cacio e pepe main, the waiter cleared my side plate that I was still eating from. Honestly, the food was decent but, not exceptional. The portion of cacio e pepe was very small although the other two were a bit more generous. The virtual queuing system is fine, albeit arrogant. The huge downer for me and what I really object to, is being spoken to so rudely by restaurant staff when I was looking forward to the hype and our family meal for our special day, so much. It really left a bitter taste to our visit which really is unacceptable. This lady was not entitled to speak to us so rudely, however popular or trendy a restaurant is. I won’t be back as this experience of the pathetic service and rude waitress has really put me off.

This is my second visit as I liked their fresh pasta. The experience is quick but waiting staff helpful. However I must admit my husbands portion of Pappardelle with beef ragú was so small he finished it in about 6 gulps. My spaghetti puttanesca was lovely and portion size adequate.
