Homemade NOT! meal was edible but seriously I could do better at home. Sorry but this place could do better. Garlic bread was awful how do you burn garlic!!

Very nice and romantic Italian restaurant. With a pleasant atmosphere and good Italian music. Everything was clean and tidy, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was good, I ordered affogato for dessert, it was OK but I am already of the opinion that it is difficult to find a great affogato in England.

A little disappointed as the pasta is not so tasty. However the staffs are very friendly and helpful, kids menu tastes better than my main.

A bit of a lengthy review but for places like Sorriso it's worth the time. While visiting Lichfield, we discovered this restaurant as one of the very few vegetarian-friendly options available during lunch time on a weekday. Sorriso is a delightful Italian restaurant that truly lives up to its name, putting a smile on your face from the moment you step through the door. Roberto, the co-owner, is an exceptional host who made our experience even more memorable with his warm and welcoming demeanor. We visited for lunch and were pleased to find a set menu offering good value for money with options for two or three courses including a drink (alcoholic or soft drink). The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. Special mention to Funghi Darwin and Risotto Funghi which were great vegetarian options and Calamari, Maiale Bolognese and Pollo Porcino stood out as non vegetarian options. The pizza was good as well. Panna cotta was my favourite from the 3 desserts on the menu. One of the highlights of our visit was the wonderful surprise arranged for my wife's birthday. I told Roberto about my wife's birthday and his team went above and beyond by bringing a candle-lit dessert while singing happy birthday, giving a special touch to our celebration. The attention to detail at Sorriso is impressive, even extending to the toilets. They offer a fantastic baby changing station complete with amenities like wet wipes and nappy bags, making it incredibly convenient for families with young children. We'll definitely come back next time we're in Lichfield.

Popped in for a decent coffee in the town. Nice modern style interior and same with the menu options. Coffee was decent, not the best or worst but I guess depends on your preferences. Possibly a little over roasted for me. Didn't experience any snacks so can't comment on that.

Myself and my partner went on our first date of 2025 to this restaurant in Lichfield, as we’d wanted to go for a while. We were welcomed by the waitress who was lovely, was given the option of where we would like to sit which was a nice gesture! We got too sample the wine! Food was absolutely beautiful! And the service was fantastic. Would highly recommend!!!! We took away some of the pizza as we ordered lots of food! The pricing was very reasonable we were surprised when the bill came !! we can’t wait to go back again.

Had lunch here, they do a decent range set menu £16.95 for two courses or £19.95 for three which includes a glass of wine/beer or soft drink. Food was excellent and staff very friendly, would definitely recommend..

Celebrated a special birthday yesterday with 16 of us. Had not dined at Sorriso before but it came highly recommended. We were not disappointed. First class service, friendly staff and good food.

3rd time at Sorriso. Was in Lichfield for the cathedral Christmas Lights (which were fantastic I have to say). Dined at Sorriso before. Again, great food, good service, lovely experience. Looking forward to our next visit. 100% recommended.

My partner and I love this place. The lunchtime 'smile' menu is excellent value and if you want to go a la carte they can do that too. Very friendly service. Gorgeous pasta.

We had the 3 course Xmas offer. Very small portions. The calamari was the worse Iv ever had. Bland frozen starter. The xmas dinner was 2 slices of turkey, 2 baby carrots, one roast potato, two baby broccoli & gravy. I had to order chips to fill me up. Pudding was a tiny pot of cream with berry sauce on top. The staff were lovely and caring. I just wish I had ordered of the main menu. Other people’s food look amazing.

What a lovely little Italian restaurant...the staff were great friendly and attentive.....the food was very very nice I had lasagne and my wife had pasta and chicken also very nice, we had a portion of chips and a tomato and onion salad and also a garlic bread all good portions .....all piping hot very tasty and will defo go again have seen few negative comments so wasn't sure what to expect however brilliant 😀

We visited this restaurant for a late lunch following a visit to Lichfield Cathedral and Tower. The food was nice but the service was outstanding

The grilled bruschetta bread was unfortunately half burnt, which was disappointing, and the vegetarian pizza didn’t impress either. Oddly enough, I had visited Pizza by Goli for the first time just a week ago, and it had been fantastic.

What a super small coffee and cake spot, coffee is excellent and although only a small selection cakes they were large slices so I was happy. The Sam was lovely and so welcoming I think we may have found our new coffee spot ❤️

Such a stylish little coffee bar! Delicious coffees and a perfect array of evil treats to go with it - definitely try the Biscoff and white chocolate shortbread! Friendly staff that also welcome four-legged friends! Perfect after an early walk in Beacon Park. Highly recommend.

Pasta sauce to die for. Loved it.

Never been to an Italian that hasn't provided complementary bread to use in oil/balsamic mix. The antipasto starter arrived within 5 minutes of ordering as was fine for both of us. The secondo main arrived 10 minutes after the first was cleared. My risotto was fine but my friend's pizza was undercooked & was not very good. Tiramisu for afters was ok. Limoncello wasn't offered. We were there on a Thursday evening when they are supposed to shut at 10pm. Our table and one other were last there at 9.30pm and only had bill to settle so they opened street door & wedged it open, letting the cold in. We settled the bill & left. Not much to recommend this place very sadly.

They hosted our modest wedding meal in 2023. They went the extra mile and basically catered for our party of about 30 people. Excellent. Returned recently and the people and food as before were excellent. Great place highly recommended by me and all my family and close friends

My partner and I visited here for a drink whilst walking round town a few weeks ago and were very impressed! The coffee tasted great (although a little too frothy in my opinion) and the cake I had was delicious! Very cute coffee shop that I’d definitely recommend!

Absolutely disgusting, from outside the restaurant looks like a lovely place to eat, wrong! Chef needs to be replaced by someone, who can cook. Pizza we ordered was paled, uncooked and hardly have any toppings. Tasteless pizza looks and tastes like “Ristorante frozen pizza” - do not waste your money on! Chucky chips???…uncooked with weird after taste- had 3chips and made me sick🤢Again do not waste your money. Dining in this restaurant is unpleasant, interior is very dated and dirty stained looking restaurant. Don’t want to imagine, in what state is their kitchen?? 😑 My recommendation: invest into interior, make it clean and pleasant to dine in but mainly!!… change your chef, find someone who can cook!!!

disappointing. You enter the restaurant and it seems like it will be a nice Italian restaurant, wrong. We got seated in a VERY tight corner and I was greeted by dust and cobwebs near the corner. We then ordered our food and for the price we paid this was NOT worth it at all, £60!!. I ordered a Margherita pizza and was given by what seemed an oven pizza. The pizza had NO taste at all and I felt as if I was eating bread and ketchup.. not a great combination. You can’t call a restaurant Italian if you serve customers pizza that was pretty thick and undercooked. Disgusting in my opinion. I also ordered some chips and got given a bowl of really weird tasting potatoes. As a person who loves chips these we repulsing. So bad I didn’t touch them. Despite all this, the staff were nice so not all hope is lost. Don’t recommend

Today, we went for a walk in Lichfield and ordered a pizza. I paid £15.50 for the "Italian" La Diavola pizza. The pizza covered only 60% of the plate, making it look like either the plate was too large or the pizza was too small. The crust was white and undercooked. It seemed like the dough hadn't gone through any fermentation, and it felt like I was eating 20 grams of yeast per slice. This had nothing to do with authentic Italian pizza; in terms of quality, I'd compare it to a frozen pizza from Lidl. The staff were friendly, but despite the place not being very busy, they managed to add extra items to our bill that we didn't order. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience. I do not recommend this place.

We visited yesterday as a treat for our wedding anniversary and can't praise this restaurant enough, staff were first class and the food was excellent. We will definitely be going back. Superb restaurant.

Had a nice risotto and Italian ice cream. The risotto was good, but could have tasted more of mushrooms. The ice was good, but the lemon sorbet had a lot of ice crystals.

After reading numerous reviews, we decided to try it out. Very nice and welcoming staff, however the food really let them down. I found the place to be overpriced in relation to what was served. For example £13 for bruschetta is very steep and considering its a moderate 3 pieces of bread with various toppings, one resembling a slice of cheese toast. Again the soup was mediocre and just lacking any flavour or consistency, it was a broccoli and potato soup. The mains certainly did not reflect £25 for beef medallions, the sauce was okay, the meat was thin and chips well they were just chips. For what came out, it should be around £16-£18. Now the dessert of raspberry pavlova, pulled straight from the freezer, was inedible, had no taste of raspberry at all, and was covered in a cheap strawberry sunday sauce you'd get from and ice cream van. Again not worth the money we spent. Bill came to £81 pounds for 2 people with no alcoholic drinks. Sorry but we won't be returning.

Great, proper Italian food, comprehensive menu and efficient, friendly staff. We were a party of six, including two young children (5 and 2), and they couldn't do enough for us. They were happy to tweak the children's pizza toppings to accommodate lactose intolerance. This was our second visit, and we'll definitely be returning!

We enjoyed our food and the restaurant was very pleasant. It was Sunday evening and the restaurant was very quiet but when we walked past on Saturday evening it was very busy.

The waiters were very pleasant and helpful indeed and charmed my companions with their gentle humour. The meal was pleasant enough; fresh and tasty and readily adapted the pasta to the type I wanted. For a weekday meal with friends , a good place . For an extra special meal out it probably isn't the venue. I imagine I will return here.

Excellent meal quick and efficient

The owner replied to my original review calling me a liar. So I here I am again. My original review frankly was toned down, as I am not typically someone who complains. But tonight, I was given the worst meal I've had at a restaurant that i can remember. I have never just given up on a meal after just a few bites. This was a first at a restaurant. The chunky chips were rock solid, completely uncooked. So originally, I asked for the chips to be replaced. (In a civil manner). They bought back McDonald's style fries.... which is not what I wanted. Still, no harm, no foul. I took a few bites of the steak and decided it was inedible. It was BARELY COOKED.... "tested with a thermometer"? Are you joking? And there were various lines of gristle running through the middle of the meat. AND it tasted truly foul. I really did not want to complain. I am not someone that does, ever. But it was terrible. My mum had similar issues. Her potato's were rock solid, her food was just bad in general. She couldn't eat it. And I was there to treat her as a mother's day gift. He came and asked how it was. I said "ohh it's.... its not great mate I'm sorry" he moodily asked if I wanted it changed. But we had other places to be, it would have made us late, so I declined. I (again, in a civil manner) said "im really sorry, but I'm not paying for this, or my mum's". I explained (genuinely calmly) what was wrong with the food. And said that I wouldnt be paying for those two meals, but would pay for everything else. He argued and called me a liar, extremely childish and unprofessional, considering I was still being completely civil. Upon being called a liar, I said "you're calling me a liar?" And told him I rarely complain and had seen the good reviews and that I was disappointed.. I didn't lose my temper at all.. Most other people definitely would have. Calling me a liar again now has definitely annoyed me though. My advice to the manager would be: you may have gotten it right on many occasions. But your restaurant massively failed on this occasion. Take it like a man and improve your dishes and service. Don't accuse clientele of lying and act like a child.

Tonight was just a pretty depressing and unprofessional restaurant experience. I took my mum, sister and fiancee out, for a mother's day meal. My food came, the chips and steak were almost completely uncooked. My mum's food was also undercooked and unenjoyable. The waiter did offer to change my meal choice, but we'd been waiting for a while so I didn't want to hold things up any more. I explained the issue and asked for mine and my mum's meal to be taken off the bill and the waiter/owner got really defensive and rude. He did take them off the bill after some protest. And the service was generally fine, drinks were good. But it was just a really awkward and shoddy experience all in all. Would not recommend.

Booked a meal with a friend. We thought we had missed the fixed price menu at 7.30 but pleasantly surprised that we could still order from it. The food was very good- hot, nicely presented and the staff excellent. We had the house wine which was good value. Will definitely book again.

Popped in for a light Sunday lunch off the smile menu. Portions are not large. However, everything was well cooked and excellent value for money including wine. Starters, try the excellent calamari. Mains were breaded pork and the chicken breast. Really good. The panacottas are gorgeous and light.

Good coffee and a relaxed atmosphere. An excellent choice to pop in for a restorative coffee. I passed a meditative half an hour contemplating the meaning of life while having a large americano.

The food was not good at all, unfortunately. Pasta was not homemade, food over salted, starter from a supermarket.

Awful food, we had a sharing starter which all seemed very cheap ingredients...For my main I had the pork belly which looked like it had been deep fried, it was tough as boot leather and realy dry. Service was ok but no one checked us to see if we were happy with our food.

Booked Sirriso for my mother in-laws birthday, was so looking forward to it as we are huge Italian food lovers. To say we were disappointed would be a total understatement. The service and front of house was good however the food was incredibly poor and nothing other than bland and tasteless. Starters were OK. One of our party had Lasagne which they said was enjoyable however the rest of us were left seriosuly disappointed, seafood risotto was tasteless, watery and the rice was hard and undercooked. The gnocchi had no seasoning what so ever and only replicated the flavour of the tomato sauce in baked beans... so strange. Truffle chicken pasta once again just bland and missing any form of seasoning. Such a shame as it is a lovely spot in Lichfield. The waiter was very apologetic and deducted some of the meals from the bill and advised that they had a stand in chef which was the cause of the problems. Unfortunately this does not make our experience any better and we would not risk returning in the future.

It was a little disappointing as I love Italian food. The starter and the main were not up to par in my opinion, and the main was not very hot. There was a large table booking while we were there, which probably didn't help but also made it very loud, and as I am slightly hard of hearing, it was not easy to have a conversation. Who knows, on another night, this place may be fine, but i wouldn't rush back to find out. If the meal had been better, the value would be good.

Overall the restaurant is nice. However the atmosphere is bit noisy. Food is fine. But a it is considerably small portion when you ordered something other than pizza. Staff is friendly. Toilet facilities are available and clean. Situated in the city centre. So easily can reach.
