We have visited Meads many times good food good menu, the soup of the day is always good ,choose your table then order your food service is good plenty of parking ,also there are some tempting things in the farm shop quality produce good wheelchair ♿️ access also.

Good little farm shop with a variety of products & helpful friendly staff but lacks atmosphere since the tearoom moved out. The building, although attractive,can be quite cold inside during the winter months. Always buy my Christmas Tree from here but Christmas Decorations apart from Wreaths,are never available which is a pity. The quaint tearoom has been replaced by a larger cafe in a separate building with lovely views. Can be very busy & noisy. Well behaved dogs are allowed but I noticed occasionally a lot of barking and this is off putting. The food is cooked & presented well if a little pricey. Would love to see a coffee machine in the Farm Shop for quick service takeaway drinks. Toilets on site as expected but could do with a deep clean.

I go to PE Mead & Sons to buy the amazing Chiltern Cold Pressed flavoured rapeseed oils. I use 8 different flavours in my cooking. They’re of the highest quality. PE Mead also sell plenty of other good quality goods. Add to that the friendly staff, and you have a good place to visit and buy produce.

Huge portions and top tier food and service

Recently had some firewood delivered from PE Mead and Sons for the first time, we ordered 1 load…and what a generous load it was! Will definitely be ordering from again when we need to stock up.

We have been here before for lunch or afternoon coffee and cake which has always been very good, this was the first time for breakfast and we were not disappointed, the food was well cooked and presented and delicious to eat. Staff friendly too.

Nice shop with a range of some local products not often seen in the Supermarkets, like Chiltern Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oils (which are refillable with a discount if you take your bottles back). Deducted a star because the shop isn't Dog friendly, even though the Cafe is, so you either have to leave your Dog in the Car while you shop (not in Spring / Summer obviously) or go in pairs and one wait outside. You also have no choice but to take your own bags. If you forget they'll only offer you a cardboard box from their pile outside (size and sturdiness not guaranteed to be suitable) or charge you £4 for one of their branded bags. I'd bought one before but forgot to take it with me so didn't really want to fork out for another one so soon. I understand wanting to be environmentally friendly but they could sell non plastic canvas bags for £1 like other shops. Not great if you just "pop in" after visiting the cafe and aren't prepared. Prices of items sold in the shop are also on the high side but don't mind if it supports local farmers and businesses

Great place loads to see Great Christmas selection

Very popular, noisy and crowded but of its type! If that makes sense ? Very much up-market from its roots across the car park! One criticism, the “sausage rolls?” billed as “Sausage Roll of the Day”!! I ate about a quarter, and they are £4.75 each, the problem, for me, was its like a packet of sausages (6) skinned and put in pastry. Not much taste, and very “heavy”; tooo much meat, and not much flavour. Otherwise fine; the soup of the day was, I’m told, great!

Ordered a double load of logs on Monday and they were delivered Friday. Fantastic service from start to finish & the logs burn better than any others I’ve had.

Wonderful buzzing place with great food and interesting selection of English style drinks( Dandelion & Burdock my fav) . The place has a great barn like atmosphere wirh tall windows overviewing green field, great farmhouse shop opposite to buy farm foods. We visited on the weekday and it was busy which is a great testiment to their quality of produce. Plenty of space for car parking. Will be returning again for sure!

Always busy here Coffee and tea always spot on, had lamb roll today and for the price could have done with a little more thought to it. Lamb was very dry and stringy and obviously microwaved then served on ciabatta roll with a side of mint sauce straight from the jar, crisps and salad, could have done with some gravy for dipping and maybe serve with a few roast potatoes instead of salad and crisps, dogs ate most of it but for £13.95 not worth it sorry .

Good range some unusual items and local products stuff you just don't see in the supermarkets

So handy to have such an excellent farm shop within 2 miles of home. Love the fact that so much is grown, produced and made locally. Staff excellent and the business deserves all the success it has achieved since we first moved to the area and it was a tiny shop in a draughty barn.

Has always been a great place for a Coffee and Cake. As of March 2022 the café is now is a newly built Barn style building. Seats outside and if you arrive by bike, cycle racks are around the back adjacent to the outside seating. Farm shop has plenty of fresh foods and I can recommend the "Little Doone Balsamic Dressings".

Had a coffee and sausage roll . The sausage roll was delicious and massive

I used to love it here, but the shop seems souless now. The young lad on the tills in the shop was SO miserable. Didn't get any friendly feeling from him and he came across quite rude. Had to wait ages to be served in the cafe. Such a shame as it was great a year ago.

We had an amazing afternoon tea here! Difficult to book as they don’t answer emails and took a few phone call attempts to get it booked, but totally worth it!! The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the value for money was incredible! Would definitely recommend.

WOW! Had afternoon tea here this afternoon. It was amazing, the staff could not do enough for us, the food was great (plenty of it) and high quality. I am GF and the food was very good. Thank you to Cathy (hope I have the spelling right) and the team. Would highly recommend and will return soon.

We went here for breakfast and I have never had such a large one. What's more, it was very good. Parking was very easy, just a few yards from the café itself with two disabled spaces. The staff were very helpful but unfortunately there were no vegetarian sausages so I had to make do with falafel which has never been my favourite. This didn't spoil my overall enjoyment, however. The coffee was very good. Service was prompt and friendly. The price was quite high but, as I mentioned, the meal was so large I really couldn't complain. There is also a good food store/farm shop here which is well worth a browse. We have been here before but I would still return without hesitation.

Maids was really disappointing although busy on this Sunday, it was not run well the servers were generally young and not managed well. They came out serving food etc. and returned ignoring the dirty full of empty plates tables as they returned or the tables that had been cleared were not wiped, food left on table very off putting. Its basic restaurant management and this was missing. The older servers were more on top of things. We had a potato, tuna a bit of salad and weak cheap tasting cheese. I felt it would be better to go for better quality for instead of the basic stuff. Plus coffee, not very good either, other local cafes can produce good coffee so this needs looking at also.

Great farm shop and nice to have a little browse round. Lovely asparagus and strawberries when they're in season. Local brands like Chiltern coldpress oil and mayos. Also Culture Bakery bread - yum!

Have always been pleased with farmhouse kitchen but on our last visit I was disappointed to find that the menu had been simplified ( no mention of what is included) and that the crab & prawn options have been removed.

Had lunch on first day of partial lockdown lifting. It was very good, there's a jacket potato hidden under the 8 slices of bacon. The farm shop is also very good with everything you'd expect and more.

I had a traditional breakfast with Sourdough toast. It looked lovely when it arrived. I thought I had 4 small sausages but they were cut in half. The Sourdough bread was so hard it was inedible. Looking around at other plates it appeared to be the same for them too. It just seems a waste of my money and a waste of bread. The breakfast was £14.99 which is quite expensive when you see what you get.

I got all I needed from my local shop.

Always an interesting shop. They have lots of sauces and locally made bits . The cafe is always busy as well. They offer a small garden area for plants and statues... usually they also offer Christmas trees at Christmas.

Big variety of products. My only interest was meat. Delighted with my purchases. Good quality. Fresh.

Lovely farm shop with lots to choose from. The onsite gin distillery is fabulous plus there is the pressed oil made onsite. The cafe is spacious and has big windows looking out onto the fields with sheep. Food is delicious and plentiful and there is a lovely outdoor terraced area too

Went to the new 'to me' farmhouse kitchen. Lovely, with excellent service, food and atmosphere, a must. And now returning to the farm shop and its still as good as it was first time.

A beautiful spot by the reservoirs. Disappointing lunch. 4 of us had bacon, Brie and cranberry toasties. These turned out to consist of 2 pieces of toast sandwiching bacon and unripe Brie. Consequently the sandwiches were lukewarm, the Brie unmelted and altogether an unappetising meal.

To the woman who works there who just said. "Hes stealing" as I walked out eithout making a purchase. Do not worry we will not be back. I couldn't find what I wanted, but you made me feel awful Rude customer service. Completely uncalled for. Disgraceful behaviour

I very rarely leave negative reviews, and I’m all for supporting local businesses, but… The farm shop is in a nice location, & offers a wide variety of products. I bought a few things, and the milk & eggs are really good quality so no complaints there, but I also bought some locally caught venison which I was looking forward to cooking today (24/5/2024). The use by date is the 28/5/24 yet when I opened the package it was clearly way past its best, despite going straight into my fridge, 5 mins after leaving the shop. The smell was indescribably bad & I’m having to burn incense to try & free the kitchen from it. I feel physically sick & will probably never be able to go anywhere near venison again, despite it always being my favourite meat! We now have nothing for our Sunday dinner and, to be honest, probably won’t have an appetite any time soon. Extremely poor experience which has cost the farm shop a future loyal customer.

A great source of locally produced food and drink among other lots of other 'country' products like animal feeds or logs with the added bonus of a lovely tearoom.

Came here on mother's day, my mum and sister really enjoyed the croque madame. I had the hummus and falafel sandwich, it was tasty but the bread had a lot of holes which made it messy to eat. I didn't order at the counter but all the people that came to our table were really friendly. Unfortunately I felt very uncomfortable when the music was switched on/up, there had been quite a bit of noise before but that became too much. I'm autistic so I found it very overwhelming. There's something's you can't help e.g. coffee machines, people talking etc. but it could have been more sensory friendly. We went to the farm shop afterwards, they were friendly and let us take some veg that would have been thrown away for my guinea pigs.

Three of us had lunch . We each had a different meal and found the food delicious. I was particularly impressed by the lady who prepared a special meal for meal altering three ingredients on a croque for me, as I'd requested because I need a special diet. She made every effort to get it suitable for me.

Went fist time and it was very bad. The food was very good but the customer service was ver very bad. Probably won’t come again. We don’t say anything wrong and one staff member was very rude to my mother. Didn’t like we said are order was wrong my food and she gave it to someone else and she made out we was lying

First time here and the staff were very helpful
