Fantastic brunch in an informal and friendly restaurant.

I took my niece for lunch on a Saturday, she chose the venue based on feedback from her friends and the fact that it seemed to have a good atmosphere. The restaurant was full so we expected somewhat of a wait having ordered but we ended up waiting more than 30-minutes for a simple order (Eggs Benedict and Eggs Royale). The food was pretty good when it arrived but the slow service spoiled the experience. If the restaurant had let us know that there may be a longer wait or come across to check on us to let us know the food was on its way presently, it would have made a difference.

A straightforward menu including all day breakfast, pancakes, sandwiches and various toppings on toast. Several vegetarian and vegan options including the cherry tomato which we enjoyed. We had prompt service in pleasant surroundings. This is the first cafe you come to in Berkhamsted when you arrive on the train or park in the main car park and convenient for both. Note this is not a cake and teas sort of cafe....others fulfil that niche.

This place has the best brunch in town. The staff is very friendly, The food is delicious, I think I've tried everything on the menu ND it never dissapointed me. Totally recommend to give it a try next time you're in town.

Visited here with family for Sunday morning brunch. It was busy so we were glad we booked. Great coffee and range of soft drinks including lots of flavours of cordial which I loved! Also loved the children’s toy and book corner. The food was just ok, it came out quickly but not altogether which was frustrating. I ordered salmon and eggs on white toast, it came out on brown toast so I sent it back. They brought it out on white again but the bread hadn’t been toasted. Couldn’t be bothered to send it back again. It was just ok, quite expensive for what it was. Wouldn’t rush back.

Personally, I think Here is a very lovely brunch! Absolutely wonderful breakfast and perfect service but I’ll give a star only its because super expensive (Full English £15 deffo not worth it especially when portions are too small) and it shouldn’t in my opinion! Charging £3 for an extra sausage? Is this like a joke or something ? Nearly £4 for a coke? I know you won’t miss me but the prices need to be sorted! Even there was a 12.5% service charge added to the bill? The cafe was a bit overcrowded upon arrival!

I enjoyed my experience today at the restaurant. The food was great, the customer service was on point and the food came quickly. They gave us a tray of treats for our dog and a bowl of water for her to drink from. I feel they gave us a fantastic experience :)

, Phoned up this restaurant to ask why they don’t do black pudding, some woman told me that they halal, but you sell bacon? Then I looked at the stores hygiene rating to find out that it’s a three. No, no, Dirty place Halal. Halal has no place in our food. We are British I don’t want my meat to have their throat slit!!! We are not savages

Had the brunch was lovely friendly staff will go again.

Went here and got 2 full English breakfasts which don't come with a cup of tea " liberty "... So got 2 pots of tea to go with it and 1 extra sausage It came to £46 😱😱😱 I don't care no fry-up should cost that

No idea you had to go to the counter to order! Sat for a while before we asked (another customer did the same) maybe add a line on the menu to that effect? Otherwise, a nice little place and friendly staff.

We think Here has the best breakfast/brunch around along with great service. Highly recommended.... Relaxed casual dining and excellent quality food.

Rude! In Berkhamsted has 14 cafe, We tried 3 times at Here. Good food but some of staff so rude never improved.

Lovely place, lovely menu, unfortunately gluten free on the menu isn't ceoliac safe which need to be indicated on the menu to avoid any issues Otherwise good brunch spot

A disappointing brunch. I ordered the eggs with hollandaise sauce mushrooms and spinach. At this establishment they serve the spinach raw not wilted , the mushrooms were two giant Portobello mushrooms placed on the muffin which made the dish tricky to eat. Literally a dessert spoon of sauce on each egg. They did offer for me to change but overall was surprised with the quality and taste given the competition surrounding them where they give you lots of tasty mushrooms wilted spinach and generous helping of sauce.

Was in berkhamsted town and after a bite to eat. Came into Here with family and a friend and we’re greeted straightaway and informed they would close at 3pm. Friendly staff and went for the club sandwich with fries, portion sizes were great! Tasted delicious and very fresh and came out feeling full and happy :) Would come back here again

Truly the best breakfast on the planet. Good coffee, excellent staff. Whoever owns this has really got it spot on from top to bottom. Just perfect. I need to come back and try all the other wonderful dishes. Bravo chef!

Food was good, it was nice too see all options of eggs Benedict costing the same amount whether with salmon or ham, but portions are quite small and any extras are all a steep £3.50. I also ordered an iced americano but received an iced espresso. Service was pretty slow and we were practically forgot about after we'd finished eating with a wait of about half an hour just to get the bill paid

Nice place and friendly staff. Food is okay but way way overpriced. Nearly £20 for breakfast and a small pot of tea, that's before the 15% service charge tagged on to the bill.

Really tasty breakfast. It was quite busy but as we didn't book , they still accommodated in finding us a table. Great service and food!

Here is somewhere we always bring visitors to Berkhamsted too. It’s a lovely cafe with great food - particularly for brunch. The food is always delicious and lots of lovely places to sit with a bustle atmosphere while still being able to hear to chat. More seating upstairs. Reliably good food.

Menu was quite 'busy' but had breakfast (guacamole, salsa tomatoes, and posched egg with side of hash and bacon), and it was nice. Orange juice was sold as fresh but didn't taste fresh and was quite pricey. The food was good value, though. Service was good.

Great food. Appaling service. Unfriendly and basically left me to rot after my breakfast was dumped in front of me. Real shame because otherwise quite pleasant venue. Was going to stay for another drink, but couldn't get attention of staff for love nor money.

Visited this little cafe for brunch for the first time as we had moved to Berkhamsted recently. But it was packed with so many dogs in such a small place. Surely that’s not hygienic? We were seated by the front door sofas as they had no tables and so many customers were coming in and out with their dogs. One dog even licked my plate and I was disgusted. There is no way I would return to this cafe ever again. The staff were not rude but not friendly either. The breakfast was nothing special and very expensive. The coffee wasn’t great. So definitely nothing to go back for. Didn’t use the toilet facilities so can’t comment on that. Parking was easy as there are car parks nearby you can pay and park.

Walked in Sunday am. Quick friendly service. I had bacon roll cooked to my liking. Very nice coffee

Lovely staff and ambience. Popped in for a light Sunday lunch bite, first ever Huevos Rancheros, full of flavour, soft boiled eggs perfectly cooked with a light breadcrumb crust, punchy chorizo and well balanced guacamole. Burgers looked great and Eggs Benedict with ham on wheatfree bread was a success, baked in house too we're told. Tea with a free refill gets my thumbs up.

Dropped in this morning while on a dog walk, the place is very dog friendly, the coffee was good and the quality and quantity of the food for brunch was excellent. We were lucky to get a seat as they were busy and a few people could not get in so worth booking if you are able to. Definitely going to stop here again next time we walk to Berkhampstead

Coffee & tea were good. My friend's Reuben sandwich was good but my eggs benedict with smoke salmon wasn't great... the English muffin had obviously been cooked with the salmon (which didn't have a nice texture) or maybe it was soggy because the salmon had been on it a while? The egg was perfect & the Hollondaise sauce looked great but didn't have much flavour. Service was efficient & helpful but it was expensive for what we had. I wouldn't go back tbh.

I've had food here before, a good brunch, however, disappointed by the coffee. Great beans, caravan roasters, but these guys do not know how to make a flat white. I'll not be going back. Sadly. There are better coffee options just down the road.

Have visited Here on several occasions and couldn’t recommend it more for brunch in Berko! Excellent menu with all the usual options as well as a generous vegan offering for those so inclined. 3 of the group all chose the Huevas Rancheros option and I went for the Ultimate Dirty Ham and Cheese Toastie. All of us were extremely satisfied with the food and good service from the team. Dog friendly as well

Had an afternoon brunch baby shower at here restaurant. The food and service was amazing. Staff were so lovely and patient as we were a big group. They allowed us to do our decorations and make it personalised for the babyshower. Thank you for a great service everyone was saying how nice the brunch was.

Not great - mixed and muddled bunch of food- poor representation of simple classics bungled by poor cookery and peculiar interpretations - over and under cooked food on the same plate - simple food badly done - it’s not even cheap !

Decent menu and changes often. Nice staff and great service, we had a baby in our group and she was well catered for, both with food and play toys

Had a religious experience with the shakshuka.

Didn't feel very welcome at first but things did improve. Nice snacks but found the menu to be very limited especially if expected to book in advance.

This place has the makings of a good place for brunch and the menu is good but the execution is poor. Food isnt great, coffee is not great either.

One of the best breakfast dishes I've ever had (huevos rancheros with chorizo - breaded poached eggs were delicious and something I've never before seen) and they also had a fantastic selection of vegetarian dishes for my girlfriend. Would highly recommend, and will definitely return.

Great food, had the Eggs Benedict with ham, eggs cooked perfectly. Ideal place for a breakfast / brunch meet up. No air-con the only minus. Would recommend

Went here based on a recommendation. Found the food to be ok but not exceptional. Service was friendly. Prices on the steep side but that's not a surprise in Berkhamsted.

Busy with attentive staff. I had the English breakfast. The breakfast was filling. I have two criticisms. The fried eggs had salt on them. Which for me totally ruined the taste. Also, the sausage contained herbs. I could not even discern which herbs because they overpowered my taste buds and I felt there was too much salt in the sausages as well. I don't believe you should use herb flavoured sausages for breakfast. And as for the cook putting salt on the fried eggs, that should be up to the person eating the eggs.

Visited Here with my family and our dog. Food was really good and tasty. Service was friendly and they welcomed our dog too even brought him over his own bowl of water and dog treat. Definitely would recommend

Had brunch with my wife and it was amazing. We both enjoyed the Classic Eggs Benedict and a few drinks. Great quality throughout - highly recommended and we're looking forward to visiting again.

Shame that no where do they display more than £3.00 service charge. If I had of known, I would have mentioned my hot chocolate was lukewarm. Won't be eating here again as the service wasn't worth that much.

Lovely little place with a buzzy atmosphere. Food was excellent and very generous portions too! I had the vegetarian breakfast and it was delicious. Service was very good as well. Would go back again.

Great place, very friendly and helpful staff. Cozy environment and family friendly. Lunch was amazing and very good brewed coffee. Ended with a coconut cake freshly made warm from the oven. Totally recommended

Lovely place for a lunch, but bill was slightly larger than I expected and I saw a 15% service charge had been added. I checked the menu and it has no mention of it. I let it go as as I was solo so bill was small, but could be a nasty shock for a big group /multi course meal. Newsflash, guys - I think you’re required to declare these automatic service charges on the menu. No-one likes a wrangle over removal of an undeclared service charge.

My husband and I popped in to see if there was a free table yesterday afternoon at Here, a local restaurant we always try to support. Speaking with a member of staff at the counter about a table there were really dismissive and rude, as if why on earth would I come into the restaurant without having a booking. It made me feel really unwelcome all he needed to say was apologies we are fully booked today, thanks for coming in and please do come back and try another day. All I can say from this experience is there are many other restaurants in Berkhamsted that make customers feel welcome which I will be looking to visit.

Delicious brunch! I had the shackshuka and it was great, their homemade bread hits the spot! Also great coffee to go with it

Found by chance walking up from Waitrose. Great vibe, good service and delicious food and teas. Came for brunch with my daughter, I had Shakshuka, my daughter had Salt beef and sauerkraut open sandwich. Both were very flavoursome and I will definitely return.

Comfortable surroundings, great service and very tasty food. The gf shakshuka w chorizo was delicious! Easily missed tucked down a side street off the main high road, Here is definitely worth a visit. Great gf and vegetarian options.

Great tasting food, probably one of the best hash browns I've had anywhere in the UK, portions are very good. Staff are very friendly. Latte was good served in a glass reminded me of Asia. If you're looking for a decent brunch menu you can't go wrong Here! Will come again for sure.

The food is lovely here but the 'Management' is absolutely diabolical!!! Because my autistic 2 Yr old was screaming, we were told to move upstairs to not disturb the other customers. HE HAS SPECIAL NEEDS AND IS NON VERBAL!! The manager (a guy) was disgusting towards us!

We’ve been to Here a few times, and each visit it gets worse. The brunch food is obviously all pre-prepared, comes out incredibly quickly with all components of a meal different temperatures. The Hervos rancheros were particularly poor. Scrambled eggs inedibly salty. Pancakes like bricks. Wait staff (including the manager) need to learn about customer service. Barely acknowledged asking for a table, no hello or goodbye. How this place stays in business is genuinely puzzling. Berkhamsted needs a new brunch place desperately! One with friendly staff and half decent breakfast foods.

Found this place accidentally as it was hidden away, but the lighting and the menu was really inviting. Got sat down promptly and was recommended the Choca Roo Brew tea and we both had our eyes on the Huevos Rancheros. Me being a veggie, it was right up my street and my partner had the opportunity to add on some chorizo. Drinks arrived and the tea was amazing, hints of vanilla and chocolate, and a well made Latte for my other half was served nice and hot. The food though- oh my word. Full of flavour, incredibly fresh and portion sizing was just right for a breakfast / brunch dish. The bread it came with was warm, the eggs were just the right amount of runny and no words can explain the chilli jam. I’d happily go for a bowl of chilli jam to be honest. Who ever the chef is, he’s an incredibly smart cook! Highly recommended to everyone.

Both had the full English. Excellent quality ingredients. Home made hash browns an absolute treat. Good quality coffee and lovely staff Would easily return.

Absolutely stunning takeaway brunch, first time and had no complaints, will keep going to HERE. I cant give 4.5 stars on google, doing so verbally, would have been 5 stars if it was a bit more spicy but that is personal preference.

Whenever we go to Berkhamsted at weekends, HERE Cafe is our favourite place to have brunch 😍 all food they serve is tasty and delicious... 😍 nice place to hang out with family and friends. Upstairs room is spacious too!

This is one of our favourites. Locally sourced, delicious food. Interesting menu. Even better now as they've removed some tables to create social distance. Love it.

Lovely food, beautifully presented, mostly homemade to a very high standard and absolutely delicious. One moan though. The waiter, very efficient though he was, wore his mask under his nose (useless therefore) and failed to clean chairs customers had sat on. Tables were spotless though. Unfortunate. Put this right and I'd give it 5 stars.

Brilliant. Has been here for years but have never visited. Wish we'd found it sooner. Excellent service and superb food. Ethically and locally sourced. Free filtered still and sparkling water (carbonated in house).

Visited for brunch for the first time since lockdown and really enjoyed it. Special mention for the Huevos Rancheros which was excellent! Felt Covid safe as well - good social distancing and cleaning.

I took my wife with my son and girlfriend for her birthday lunch as she had chosen this as she had been before.The first thing we ordered they had run out so we chose club sandwiches to be told they had ran out of chicken( supermarket next door) The lattes then arrived Luke warm.The final issue was we ordered crispy eggs that sounded nice but arrived uncooked inside. After complaining they were replaced with freshly cooked crispy eggs that were again slimy inside.So disappointed for my wife.
