Lovely experience at Harvester last night. Food was excellent and staff were very friendly, we was served by Sara who looked after us all night :)

Nice warm, fresh, quick food and drinks. Waiter was friendly.

It was a great experience at the restaurant with the kids. The staff was attentive and look after our table nicely. I will be returning soon, we really loved the barbecue chicken wings.

When we arrived, the greeting lady said there would be a wait as the system had gone down so we expected things to be a bit slow, however, the food was served quickly and was delicious and very hot. The waitress was so lovely and we couldn’t fault the service at all. The price was very reasonable, we ate from the special menu and there was a wide variety to chose from. We have eaten at many different Harvesters over the years but this was our best ever experience.

Starting off when we came in we ordered food, got denied of one salad bowl for a child which shouldn't be fair. The food came quick but the chips were awful, they looked anemic and like they weren't cooked. The staff were quite friendly but we noticed some of the stuff stuck out with rudeness and ignorance.

Popped in for some dinner the other week and it was great. Quick service and super helpful. Our server Joe was incredibly attentive and delivered excellent service. Thank you.

HBH family lunch. There was a long wait before even getting drinks ordered. In the end we ran out of time, so no desserts. Carla was called to assist and was incredibly helpful regarding allergies. Good value good food but busy. Also very dark and noisy ambiance - difficult for the hard of hearing. Returned for lunch the next week; Very quiet, quick service, good food.

8 of us had a lovely meal here and sat down around 530pm on a Sunday evening. The food was excellent and our server was prompt, polite and friendly. Like most Harvesters now, make sure you enter you car reg on the terminal as you go in or you will receive a hefty parking charge as the restaurant is next door to the railway station. You are now given a salad bowl by the server. Strangely though we were told that we could not access the salad cart until after we had received our mains? Previously you could help yourself to a bowl and the salad cart as soon as you had ordered. We did question this and after our server spoke to the manager we were told they would make an exception on this one occasion and we all had salad with our starter. However £190 inc tip for 8 covers/ 3 courses plus drinks was quite reasonably priced.

Carla worked so hard serving our table, which at times was challenging 😂. Kids loved their food and well stocked salad bar!!

Came here last weekend. It's been a long time since I been here now, I know why? and the food was still terrible. The service was slow , walk in there, and there was a group of waitness standing around salad stand, near sitting booth. We asked for our starters and mains to come out together, and our starters were burnt and overcooked. Came out first, no mains we had to flag service. My Ribs was small, not cooked, no flavouring, no one came ask if we were ok couldn't eat. Second meal Ribeye steak was still pink for well-done. It was very tough to cut, and pepper corn sauce was watery for the money I paid out. It was a load of rubbish food. I won't be going back.

Our waiter Joseph was attentive and curious. The food came out in good time and was lovely. Salad var kept topped up and fresh. Lovely service from waiter and great food.

Once again items missing from order, this has happened several times and won’t be ordering again form Harvester

Twice we’ve tried going for breakfast, twice it’s never open at 9. If you don’t open at 9 don’t advertise this. Give up going here for breakfast.

jacket potato cold. chicken very dry. both hard to chew, and digest, sawdust. carrot salad!

For the first time in a few visits, my jacket potato was edible. Not everything that we ordered was correct, but the server was very apologetic. Waited a long time for our take out desert and had to chase. Overall, though, it was a good experience. I have given service 4 star, as any issue we had was delt with well.

Cozy atmosphere, food was fairly good, ladies toilet was out of action so had to use disabled toilet, which had a queue.

Fantastic time today at The Mallard. Hard to believe it's only 4.1 stars (June 2024). We were served by the wonderful Linda, who made sure our guest experience was top notch! Can honestly say this is the best harvester we've been to in a really long time. Service (with a smile) was excellent and the food was cooked to perfection; you can tell the kitchen team work well together and brilliant to see enough staff at such a busy time. Best salad bar going with a different items each side; something you don't always see these days in Harvester. We will definitely return.

We were served by Julie today. She was very friendly and helpful. We will come back again.

Firstly we arrived with no reservation, and we were told that there wasn't any room in the restaurant and would have had to sit in the bar. Which is not what we wanted, we were told there wouldn't be any availability in the restaurant until at least 7pm, and this was at 4.15pm. we walked out and went onto the app on my phone and and booked a table for 4.15pm in the restaurant and went back in, and was seated by anbother member of staff immidiatley. So I don't like being lied to by members of staff. We are usually a regular visitor, but will probably start going elsewhere is this is how we are going to be treated. The meal it self was very nice, just didn't like being lied too.

Food was good and staff were lovely. All let down by toilets. Smell is disgusting!!

A standard harvester with the usual menu. I go here often, and team is friendly and always helpful. Next door to Hemel Hempstead train station, has parking that your need to enter your registration for. Also, has good breakfast menu options. There is a bar area and a dining area. No dogs as it is a restaurant. Wheelchair accessible.

Went to meet a friend for a drink, the bar tender was the rudest person I have ever come across. Talk about customer abuse. He pretended to be very busy whilst a colleague keeps asking if he was okay or needed help. He is certainly in the wrong job with that sort of attitude. What a disgrace to Harvester. Shame there's no zero star rating.

Came today got left at the main entrance to show us to a table then took about 10 minutes to find us one then we had to find our own waitress to order some food this place has gone down hill big time don't waist ur money I didn't even eat nothing because of the terrible service I will be in contact with ur head office with the person who runs the place.

Fuming, I ordered a harvester as I have a massive craving for Red Devil sauce and the order was delivered without it, all of it went in the bin!!!!!!!!!!! So angry

Lovely friendly service, shown to our seats. Enough menus for the table. Everything we needed. Unfortunately our mains came a little too quickly, not enough time to enjoy our food from the salad bar.

Free parking for customers. Price is reasonable. Great tasting all you can eat salad bar which comes free with an order of any main meal. One star off for the garlic bread that is not but only melted cheese laden ordinary bread, no butter, no garlic. Other than that it's a no fuss better than the nearby fancy, pricier restaurant. The restaurant would probably have a better atmosphere if not for the untidy and noisy customers it attracts.

I recently went to The Mallard with a group of people from home. Unfortunately I suffered with very bad food poisoning after having scampi and chips. Nobody else had this, so this just proves it was the cause

Had a very bad experience here today and will be speaking to head office!....ive been a customer of Harvester Mallard the past 20 years and last few years the standards of customer care have drastically dropped ...very disappointing!

I have been to many Harvesters but this was by far the worst I've been to yet. We all ordered refillable unlimited drinks but they didn't want to allow us to go refil our own at the refilling station (what's the point in that). The waitress came across grumpy and like she didn't want to be there. The salad bar had seen better days and the salad wasn't topped up (grated carrots mainly) and the lettuce looked limp and old. Had better at other Harvester branches. The ladies loo smelt horrendous. Like raw sewage and musty, I couldn't get out of them quick enough. My child had a kids meal and as part of that he had corn on the cob. The corn looked old and overdone. The kernels were all sunken in and it didn't look appetising. This is definitely a Harvester branch to avoid.

Service provided by Carla, our waitress was great. Improvements need to be made in the salad bar as it was quite messy and empty during prime time. Also, chicken not available during prime times isn’t good and we should have been told about this before sitting down and ordering.

It's been many years since I visited a Harvester and my last visit was disappointing but two of us were tempted back today by the photo of the ultimate breakfast. We were amazed to find it was just as in the picture. Huge, besutifully cooked and prompt and friendly service. We came away with plenty of sausage and bacon for the family dogs too. I don't know how they do it for this price. I'll be spreading thw word and will be back.

Waited a long time to have my order taken. Very limited drinks menu. My beer seemed to come straight from the freezer. The salad bowl I was given was almost too hot to hold - hardly ideal for salad but then there wasn’t much salad available anyway at 7.30pm. The bread roll was stale. My garlic breaded mushrooms were quite good but the dip was far too runny. My main course was plonked on the table before I was even halfway through my starter. It was ok but the chicken breast was quite dry and the bbq sauce far too thick and lacking flavour. I have been to establishments using trainee staff that were much better. I won’t be back.

Pretty standard Harvester restaurant. Salad bar seemed a little bit tired, could be replaced earlier. Otherwise an OK meal.
