Oyster Shed in City of London, Westminster

Overpriced with slow service. For a place with 'oyster' in its name there is limited choice, nor do waiters know much about them. That said, the oysters we ate were decent though twice the price of Bentleys (still the best place in town). Perhaps the view, watered down Aperol Spritzes and banging music may delight some, but not this diner. I was hoping to hear what my dinner partner was saying to me

Lovely sun spot. Can't complain about traffic jams if you're driving.....but very, very busy on a nice day post work!

If you want taste some London experience, this is “must see place”

Superb service and delicious food on first visit, the return a few weeks later on a Friday evening wasn’t as good. Three of the four dishes were slightly undercooked. Service was attentive but everything was upsold Acoustics made it difficult to hear one another across a small table of four. Not a disaster but quite different to my previous lunch experience.

This is a wonderful venue - trapped between being a tourist hotspot and a location for a foodie to enjoy wonderful food and drink. As a result the reviews are mixed. But it’s worth a visit - even if just for a decent drink and the incredible views.

It's a nice bar with a good location next to the river. The staff were relaxed and patient. Nothing was too much trouble. The seating was comfortable and varied. The vibe was quite chilled - music got a little loud around 6pm on the Sat we went but nothing too annoying.

Nice views but 5 quid per oyster is laughable.

Overpriced but such a lovely spot on the Thames! Definitely worth it for a drink or two on a sunny day!

This place is a gem in the busy city of London. The Atmosphere was serene with an amazing view of the Shard. The food was of top quality, fresh oysters- cooked and uncooked were delicious. Oysters can’t be skipped if you are in this place. I thoroughly enjoyed the food. Service was of top notch with our attendant making sure everything was served properly and explaining the nitty gritty of the process to preparing the food. This is a must visit restaurant in the central London

Been here around 5 times about 3 years ago… I remember the food being amazing, and having come back for a Sunday roast just now, it’s either even even tastier or I forgot about amazing the food is! Service is great, very clean, and I’d recommend here over other places which charge more! You get plenty of food and all cooked perfectly! Very full and very happy.

This is the perfect place to spend your evening or celebrate your special day. The food is really delicious, the atmosphere is comfortable and the service is welcoming. Especially thanks to Valentino who provided a perfect service during my birthday celebration.

Super busy on Saturdays. Beautiful views of the Thames river. Very limited seating outside. Good selection of drinks. It takes a very long time to get served. The bar is large, but the queue was 5 deep!

Esta elegante vista del río de acero y vidrio con una espléndida vista es un "cobertizo" en nombre de la apropiación cultural solamente. Éramos un grupo de cuatro con una reserva, sorprendidos de entrar a almorzar a un salón enormemente vacío. El bar y la carta de vinos eran excelentes. Pero con solo una especie de ostra disponible en la temporada alta de diciembre, The Shed sería avergonzado incluso por la choza costera más humilde. Aquí no hay nada que se parezca remotamente a una barra cruda. Las gambas rebozadas, los mejillones empanados y las vieiras salteadas en grasa de pollo no cuentan. No soy británico, pero francamente en casa dudaría en darle de comer a mi gato todo el cangrejo cornualles vestido, que no me interesaba terminar. Mejor pensar en ello como el cobertizo de fritura y parrilla. En estas ofertas lo hace bastante bien. Y a juzgar por el grupo de felices vacaciones en el otro extremo del piso, es probablemente un gran lugar para una fiesta indiscriminada en la oficina. ¿Mi recomendación? Si buscas un auténtico bar de ostras, este no es ese lugar. Sin embargo, estoy dispuesto a decir que mi calificación puede ser solo un reflejo de expectativas decepcionadas.

Standard Youngs pub in terms of food and service but wonderful Thames side location and airy design and view make it definitely worth a visit

We are an older couple, so found it very noisy on a Friday evening but were seated upstairs (tolerable). The haddock was rather overcooked (dark batter) and monkfish slightly under but we were given complimentary coffees. Great views of the river and the Shard.

This place was very busy and so loud you couldn't hear the person next to you. The food was good but nothing exceptional. It has a friendly overall atmosphere and the staff are very efficient but it's cavernous space and the background noise is overbearing.

Basically a Youngs pub with glass walls and decent seafood. The experience absolutely did not warrant the £90 per head cost. Toilets are miles away a few floors down. I was however very happy with my meal, but even here it wasn't cheap. The service was ok, but should have been better considering the price, it was pub service standard really. Despite food being decent I wouldn't really recommend due to lack of value for money.

Incredibly kind Staff and absolutely delicious cocktails but food was edible but dry absolutely not worth the extremely expensive price. Absolutely felt scammed during this meal. The bread with salmon was super stale, the main turkey was so dry and bland, and the desert was cold and dry. it tasted like cafeteria food honestly. But like I said, staff and service was amazing. Definitely only recommend for cocktails or happy hour.

Just visited The Oyster Shed for the 3rd year in a row for my Mum and Dads annual Christmas get together. We sat on The Captains table (private room) which has wonderful river views and loads of Christmas lights and a Christmas tree to add to the atmosphere. There were 15 of us and we are a mix of family and friends age ranging from 2yrs - 81yrs old. We had the Christmas 3 course set menu and had options to make preferences to the dishes (we have a fussy eater that hates gravy!) We were really looked after and the service, food and atmosphere was perfect. Enough room for the buggy and a lift for one of us that has limited mobility. All the staff are relaxed and professional and made the day a real treat. Thank you The Oyster Shed for a perfect Christmas lunch. Hope to see you next year! :)

Unfortunately no oysters, and too loud. We were for a business dinner standing party, and I expected oysters as the names but no oysters were served, no sea food of any type. Plenty of high calories and cholesterol food: hamburgers, chips, frankfurts on bacon rolled, cheese in many forms, ah some humus with lettuce... I had to ask to lower the volume of that noise called music, even that, it was that loud that we shouted to eachother instead of talking, next morning ears were ringing and itching throat... It's probably not my type of place, but maybe for others. It was a bit too warm too.

Great view and great food! Was looking for the pink oyster bar but this shed was definitely a good alternative!

We booked the Captains table for a friend's Christmas lunch on a Saturday. The space itself is great- it was nice to have a private dining place as we could relax and the kids could have their own space. The service by Rhys and Valentino was top notch. That's where the good things stop as the food left much to be desired. The 3 course Christmas meal for £54 a head was disappointing. The best thing was the starter of parsnip soup. I had a main of trout and they left out the greens. The potatoes were mediocre and weren't even salted. The crumble for dessert was ok. Drinks were OK but quite pricey. Overall I would give a 3 star but the service and atmosphere warrants a 4.

Excellent quick service with great ambiance, just love their food

The large parties getting underway were clearly their priority. It was just after 5 pm and a freezing cold evening and we were quickly ushered upstairs. We were given a table for two in a busy walkway and the noise and blaring music made conversation impossible. I had to ask for our table to stop rocking back and forth. I spent the evening screaming at my business guest. The food was bland and tasteless. I had the Plaice fish and the flavor was unremarkable. The creamed spinach was coarse, stringy and tasteless. The chips were cold. Extremely disappointing meal. We both had the same dish. The worst part was yet to come…being asked to leave as they needed our table as soon as the meal was over. So rude for a £100/ $126 meal. Spend your money at a pub for better quality and the ability to have a conversation. What a disappointment.

My husband and I have been to The Oyster Shed many times for lunch but this time I wanted to take my son and daughter-in-law. They both loved it and we had a wonderful lunch. It is in a great position by the river and overlooking The Shard and a fabulous time was had by all.

Overall this is good place to eat, with great atmosphere and spectacular view, but food was very decent, particularly soft shell crab burger, this one is awful.

Walked inn for coffe and desserts. Place is very nicely looking inside. Got a great view through the windows. Dessert were very delicious. Team members were polite. Only one down thing was 2 times I got info back that my picked item was out of the list. Banoffie pie very delicious 😋

Booked an area for drinks for 15 people and it was exactly what I was looking for. Drinks were nice, bar never became too busy and the music was not obnoxiously loud.

La comida era preciosa en general. Ostras no muy regordetas. Charcutería, vieiras, barco del día eran entrantes encantadores x 4. Para la red teníamos pescado con papas fritas, fletán, hamburguesa y hamburguesa de cangrejo. Todo bien. Vino espumosox 2 agradable pero caro como lo fueron las bebidas. Fue cobrado de más por las ostras en la factura final después de inscribirse para 3 - 5 pm especial. Esto fue resuelto pero no debería haber necesitado mi opinión. Servicio no 100% pero amable. Los muebles de pensamiento necesitaban un poco revisado y la temperatura un poco baja. Preciosas vistas. Factura final £ 359 +.

Wonderful meal and fantastic location on water. Very disappointed in hostess who lied about table availability at window we asked to dine at- told 4 people were being seated there and our 2 top seated at very small table watched same hostess seat 2 at requested table. Truly unbelievable

One of the best experiences we ever had. First of all, we got allocated on a table by the window followed from the outstanding service of Francisco. Who made our casual visit a bit more pleasant. We had a Sunday roast. Let me just say the meet was just tender, big portion and nicely presented. My partner chose some sides as she was but hungry but also was pleased with the food. Great wine variety and excellent service overall. We will come back to try food of the regular Menu for sure.

The food was out of this world, so reasonably priced and delicious at the same time. I’ve been very wary of going to restaurants recently as I’ve had such bad service past few times I’ve been out. But my server Tanya was so accommodating and made me feel so comfortable, and recommended some really good plates. I find good service is so important on your experience of eating out and me and my partner will certainly be coming back if we have the same experience we had this time

Great pub with a massive bar where you can choose from a wide variety of drinks. They have nice summer spritz which luckily I was guided by Francisco. I went for a Passion fruit Kiss and my friend had a glass of rose as recommended by Francisco. All the staff was very approachable and seem to have a good energy. I would definitely como for food and more drinks.

Such a stunning view right by the river side for a quick drink. We found the location and the place amazing although it gets really busy on Thursdays. Despite the crowdedness Francisco was very assertive and helpful throughout the night and helped us taking our orders. He really seems he cares for people. We should be back for more!! The Oyster Shed: A Perfect Waterfront Dining Experience! My wife and I booked lunch at the oyster shed as it was our wedding anniversary and we had been for drinks at the Shard which is close by. I must say that the experience was a memorable one, thanks in large part to the exceptional service provided by our waiter, Francisco. Despite our booking being for an inside table, Francisco went above and beyond to secure us a coveted outdoor table with a breathtaking view of the Shard. His attentiveness and willingness to accommodate our request made a significant difference to our dining experience. The food at the Oyster Shed was nothing short of outstanding. My wife's fishfinger sandwich was the perfect size for lunch, and the Fowey mussels that Francisco recommended to me were absolutely delicious. They were some of the best mussels I've ever had. To celebrate our anniversary, we opted for a bottle of Nye Timber sparkling wine, and Francisco's recommendation was spot on. It complemented our meal perfectly. Overall, our visit to the Oyster Shed was a delightful experience. The combination of the beautiful setting, excellent service, and delicious food made it a truly memorable occasion. We will definitely be returning again.
