Food was delicious. Really good options for vegans with both a 'tofish' and a vegan battered sausage. The owner is warm and friendly. Overall a great fish and chip shop.

Fish and Chips is quite good. Less oily

The doner roll was on thier halal menu. When I asked, a lot more items were actually halal. The exceptions were the pies. Also, a good budget friendly takeway place that accepts card!

Stopped off whilst passing through Oxford. The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and appeared to know his regulars by name. We ordered the fish and chips which was absolutely delicious. The batter was light and crispy covering a sizeable fluffy Cod. The chips were cooked to perfection. Overall very tasty and would recommend.

Huge menu variety, reasonable prices (especially in this economic climate!) and excellent customer service. Amazing!

The friendliest people and straight-up fish&chips. No fuss. Great vibe in the tiny queue, lots of chat and humour. This is what a local chippy should be.

Overall the food was good but the waiter with gender identity(Turkish national) has some attitude problem. I hope the management would consider training the staffs to improve the service.Cheers!

We had a lovely takeaway from here. It was nice fish, fresh and nicely done. The chips were nice. The chap was friendly and warm. Customer satisfaction clearly matters to him. The batter was crispy but could have done with a tad more seasoning to give this a 5 out of 5.

Fish and chips cooked fresh in front of me by the nicest person you could hope to meet. He's been open for 35 years and has local clients queuing up for his fish chips mushy peas tofu fish and all sorts of other delights!!!

Found this shop while visiting Oxford a year ago and loved it. Visiting Oxford again today and it is still IMO the best fish and chips shop we have ever visited. Food is great and the owner is a wonderful human being.

Delicious food and very friendly staff

Food is fine, with a good variety of options. However, this is the slowest chippy I have ever been to, by far. A portion of chips which would usually take 1-2 minutes elsewhere takes 10-15 minutes on average here. It is unfortunate and stops me going - not what a chippy is meant to be!

One of the best fish and chips I've had since I live in England (almost 6 years now). It was so delicious! And a huge portion! You can tell it's fresh. It's a shame I don't live in Oxford but I'll be back for sure one day and of course I'll be back to this place. The owner is so kind and friendly, it was a pleasure meeting him. 100% recommendable.

I went here before and had a good experience but when I went back I ordered sausage, chips and curry sauce and was charged for them. When I got back home and opened my food I realised that I hadn't actually been given a sausage. A real shame considering how simple an order it was.

What in the world is going on here? I stumbled in by accident, dead drunk like a zombie from Shaun of the Dead. As i stood drooling outside the window, the friendly owner beckoned me in. Several locals were chit chatting and exchanging stories about a set of triplets that would come in, confusing the aforementioned owner. The walls are covered in cultural adverts, from classical Chinese theater to the story of oil from ancient times to World War 1. The owner is super friendly, instantly engaged me in conversation, let me try some curry, which convinced me to order the curry fish and chips, a gorgeous monstrosity perfect to conclude a drunken night out.

Amazing little and welcoming fish and chips shop. It has been a long time since I had a proper golden batter fish, lots of flavour and good size.

Food is good but they frequently shut earlier than their advertised time on google. When you order, give them at least two hours to actually deliver. Very poor service

Oh wow, the food was SO good. I couldn't eat it all but really wanted to because it was so delicious. Kas, the owner, is also a gem. We thoroughly enjoyed talking with him. We are definitely going back for both the food and kindness. We witnessed kindness and respect from Kas to each person who walked into the shop, even the man who appeared homeless who wandered in. Excellent food from a wonderful human being.

I came here two years ago and it was really good with a lovely owner. Presumably it has changed hands during Covid lockdown and I didn't recognise the two guys running it. Now the food is very disappointing and there is no nice owner to chat to. The chips were soggy and the fish wasn't crisp or tasty.

I ordered fish and chips with 4 fish cakes. When I got home, the fish cakes inside were brown. They were hard and disgusting. I went back the following week and I did order again but told them of the fish cakes. No apology nothing. Although the second time the food was OK apart from the chips being over fried. I won't be eating from this place

Insanely delicious! The owner will talk to you like you're a friend he hasn't seen in ages. Really nice guy, genuinely made my day better. Although I was already set on five stars when I left the place, the food was phenomenal as well. Freshly fried fish, and some delicious chips. I'd definitely go again.

The chips and battered halloumi are exquisite, and the prices excellent. I go here at least once a week for dinner.

Utterly disappointed. So, the smallest order you can have for fish and chips costs 9£, and it’s humongous — you should probably share it. The only thing is fish is (only cod) basically 80% heavy batter. There’s an atrocious curry sauce (couldn’t even tell you what’s in it) you can have as an add-on which I did due to curiosity, and it only made the whole oil bath experience more terrifying. You also only can pay cash, even when the clear sign on the door reads “minimum 5£ for card”? You also wait a ridiculous amount of time for one order. The chips are alright, hence a star, except they turn into a fried ball of mash when squished under the two heavily battered pieces of cod in your take-out wrapper. Truly not worth it, go easily find somewhere better — unless you want to gulp undersalted chunks of fried dough excavating a tiny piece of white fish.

Fish is cooked fresh when you go in to the shop so it takes a little longer than normal but it's worth the weight

Brilliant fish and chips with really friendly service . visiting from London and really impressed (we phoned placed our order) that they phoned us to ask how the food was!!

On a visit to Witney found this shop on Google, saw they had won best fish and chips Oxford 2020/21. Thought we would try them. The award was well deserved. Fish beautifully cooked and the chips were delightful. Wish we didn't live 90 miles away or this would become a regular haunt.

They do serve good satisfying meal but they close at half past 9pm which is a bit disappointing for me personally, as I like to snack after 10pm :(

We came across this place coincidentally but it was incredible, the chips were perfect and Kaz the owner was very polite and lovely. We'll be back every time we're travelling through Oxford. We won't be eating anywhere else

The food was beautiful cooked fresh right in front of me, the chips were sensational definitely worth the price. Not to mention the very nice owner i could talk to him for a year and not get bored i really recommend this chip shop.

Best fish and chips in Oxford. By far.

Really nice guys run the place, and their curry sauce is the bomb. Currently addicted to their chips w/ curry sauce. Proper fresh ‘homemade’ chips, no frozen or processed food bs. Massive portions too, its great for £4.50 you can get a cup full of delicious homemade curry sauce and a massive portion of chips (enough that my partner and I can split it and still have enough chips left over that we can save and reheat and both eat the following day). And they fry their chips separate from the fish so vegetarian/vegan safe chips (I’m vegan). And my partner says the fish is great too. I’m a chef so I can tell too, the fish is cooked perfectly (where the batter is fried and the fish is essentially poached in the batter, ie not greasy).
