Had to try Ox & Finch after high praise and it did not disappoint. Went for a birthday dinner a few weeks ago and the way it works makes so much sense if you go with a few friends as you can try loads of different plates. Unfortunately I am too impatient to take photos but even then they don't do it justice, but compliments to the chefs. They cater to vegetarians with a separate menu as there are small changes and it keeps it simple. Great wine, unforgettable food, and brilliant service. Looking forward to our next night out at Ox & Finch. Thank you!

Karen and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at Ox and Finch, sampling a variety of dishes. We ordered the following: Sourdough and butter – Fantastic, with excellent texture in the bread. Cod cheeks, chorizo, tomato, and morcilla on toasted sourdough – One of my favourites. A plating suggestion: placing the sourdough on the side may prevent it from becoming overly moist and tough. Ricotta gnocchi, pea purée, and pistachio pesto – Not our favourite. The pesto had a strong minty/herbaceous taste, would have loved if it was overpowering the pistachio and cheese (as it reads). Confit duck leg, sour cherry, radish, and buttered cabbage – The duck was succulent, but the radish and cabbage were rather bland. 200g dry-aged bavette with chimichurri – Unfortunately, the bavette was overly chewy, and the chimichurri lacked balance, with too much cilantro and no spice or acidity. Chips with roast garlic aïoli – The chips were great, but the aïoli was disappointing, tasting more like store-bought mayo without the rich garlic flavour. Overall, our experience was enjoyable, and we’re looking forward to your new venture on Miller Street and reoping of Ox and Finch after its renovation, hopefully with a refreshed menu. A quick suggestion: When serving to a table of two with multiple orders, it would be better to slow down the pace. We felt slightly rushed as the dishes arrived too quickly.

One of the best places I ate at in Scotland. Made a reservation for lunch for four people beforehand and you must pay a small deposit. Indoor dining only. Even on a weekday at 12:30, the place was buzzing. Restrooms are on the bottom floor. Credit cards accepted. They have plenty of wine options and also have tap water. The ambiance is casual but it’s a cute, airy spot. It’s industrial looking with high ceilings and would be great for a date. Food-wise, we ordered the following: - Sourdough and butter - a classic start. A bit basic, but when when you’re in the UK, you want to take advantage of being able to enjoy their dairy. - Whipped feta - my favorite part of the meal. This came with pita bread and the feta was nice and creamy. We ate the leftover feta with our other bread. - Skate wing - Skate is a fish (didn’t know they before but you learn something new every day). It’s a larger cut and good for a group that’s hungry but still wants to be healthy. - Ricotta gnocchi: a table favorite. The sauce was so fresh and you could lick the plate clean. - Pan fried pork belly - not my favorite, but it was tender - Tender stem broccoli - a standard veggie dish that is on the smaller side - Green beans - I would highly recommend getting this. The mascarpone and the ‘nduja elevated this dish. - Grilled ox tongue - it was very tender and was well offset by the pickled veggies

Ox and Finch is a well established restaurant in business already for 10 years. Book about 2 weeks ahead if you want to enjoy an evening meal there. Lunch is good too and it has the same menu. Much easier to snag a table midday. We enjoyed each small plate we shared. The whipped feta was creamy and smooth with a touch of honey and oregano lovely on the pita bread. The beef bavette had great flavour and was oh so tender. The duck confit with the cherries and cabbage was easily our favourite. Simply great flavour combinations. All topped off with a delicate panna cotta with sour cherries and crunchy hazelnuts. Yum. The wine list was creative and interesting. Lots of good things to choose from.

First day in Glasgow and tired from the long plane ride and quick Kelvingrove Museum visit, so we decided to recharge at Ox and Finch. I had saved it to Maps but had forgotten the reason until I sat down to the menu. Amazing food? Yes, please! Servers were patient with walking us through on the best way to order (all at once since dishes are served as they are done) and the excellent recommendation of the cod cheeks. Food was perfectly balanced with all the right flavors working together to treat your taste buds to an unforgettable dining delight. We were gifted a voucher for dining here for our 60th birthdays at the start of the year - and eventually got to visit at the end of August! The service was superb - from start to finish. Friendly, efficient and informative. There were 3 of us - we opted initially for 2 plates each and the bread. Our dishes were the whipped feta (gorgeous), beef tartare (interesting - not my favourite, but others loved it), cod cheeks (my favourite, especially with the morcilla), smoked mackeral tonato (very tasty), bavette (Beef) - delicious and the grilled ox tongue (very tasty) Also had a Courgette and peach salad and a bowl of chips with aioli which definitely helped as a filler, as the dishes are not large (were also scrummy!) Hubby then decided he wanted the duck leg instead of pudding! So we ordered that and shared it - was really good. Son and I then had desserts of the hazelnut panna cotta and the baked creme fraiche tart, both excellent - but the tart was exquisite. So fresh and tangy. The food came to about £95 - quite expensive as small plates, but to be honest, the quality was worth the £32 a head. And we were full enough. The wine though is pricey - £52 a bottle for the Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc! (It was delicious though) That's what bungs the price up - so can just avoid it and enjoy the food if need be! A lovely evening.

Beef tartare Well designed presentation egg yolk providing creaminess, horseradish providing a good kick beef was slightly towards the leaner side but quite flavourful, each bite was so enjoyable. Such a beautiful balance overall Pollock Crudo White balsamic bringing a light tanginess, helps actually amplify the freshness of the fish, raisins and nuts making a good combo in the dish. Presentation wasn't "striking"(if you're all about looks, which I hope you aren't), but nothing is going to stop this from being a 10/10 in the summer. Confit duck leg. I still wonder why they only charge 11.5 coz it was majestic. Duck bursting with juices and flavour, buttered cabbage and pancetta can't go wrong. Good balance of the whole dish and was gone within 1 minute Grilled ox tongue Smelled so good from a mile away. This looks dry but god it was so good. Tender, Beefy... never thought it would go so good with creme fraiche, parsley salad was a good palate cleanser after every bite. Chips Classic …Triple cooked… end of story Gone within 2 minutes, bit longer coz it was scorching hot when it got to the table. Dessert Bare Bones Choc Blancmange You'd die for this... literally. Dense creamy chocolately, topped with a creamy malt cream to add to the texture, and a salted honeycomb to compliment the flavour and maintain a good balance on the palette. Striking performance to end the meal on a hight note. Service Tapas style small plates, but even when they say its a wee portion, it was so filling even after 4 plates. Kind, attentive, always with a warm smile. Perfect execution, timely yet not rushed. And it was around 25pp for us to be absolutely stuffed... Very reasonably priced.

One of my friends experienced a medical emergency which fortunately was resolved and recovery was quick. We were very grateful for the prompt attention a fellow diner, Greg, a medical doctor, provided in helping treat and recover the situation. The staff were also exceptional and calmly supported a very stressful situation by being on hand to help, showed great concern and empathy - they also ensured that the disruption for other diners was minimal and helped them to continue to enjoy their evening despite the activity around my friend. The dessert carried on the high standard (my partner commented it was one of the best deserts he'd ever tried!) We didn't explore the wines too much, so we will be more adventurous next time (the signature cocktail looked tempting!). We could only get in later in the evening, so we called to see if they had any cancellations. The staff we're friendly, warm and welcoming and they managed to bring our booking a bit earlier. Our waiter was the same and really enthusiastic about the food. Frustratingly, I'm rubbish with names, and I'm writing this the next day. I've only given one one star review before, this is my second. Ridiculously overhyped and pretentious restaurant. Food looks nice enough, but then you have to eat it. The food was simply tasteless. The only dish we had that had flavour was the gnocchi, and it was a horrible overpowering pea/pesto mess. The pollock is served raw, incase you did not know what crudo means, because this place expects you to know that. Buffalo mozzarella is tasteless, melon is tasteless, so let's combine them in a dish. The pork belly took over 30 minutes to arrive after we had attempted to finish the other 4 dishes, and had no taste. Atmosphere is cramped and noisy. Staff were not particularly great. Chips were good, but even the garlic aioli was tasteless. One of the worst places I've eaten.

With features in the Michelin Guide, Ox & Finch has much to live up to. Fortunately, it does just that. Perhaps most impressive about Ox & Finch is the way it elevates its dishes with its incredible sauces. The feta cheese in particular mixes sweet, spicy, and savory without being too heavy; bringing a lovely twist to bread and cheese. The highlight of the night was undoubtedly the Gnocchi which was simply perfect in its richness. Though certain dishes such as the rump was slightly dry, the fragrant sauce made it another enjoyable dish. Perhaps my only complaint is the order in which food came out. During our meal, the chips with garlic aioli arrived last, leaving us with a heavy and starchy end to the night. Overall, Ox & Finch impresses and surprises without allowing the pretension of the Michelin brand to affect its quality. Its selection is accessible and the sharing aspect of the meals makes for a lovely dining experience. With food this good, it’s no surprise that this place is bustling every night.

I thoroughly enjoyed the whipped feta (very creamy, flavorful, good pairing with toasted flatbread). Cod cheeks stands out, beautiful presentation. Ricotta gnocchi and confit chicken leg are both good dishes. Unfortunately the dry aged rump fillet was difficult to eat as it was a bit tough, very chewy, and the overall flavor was bland despite it being smothered in sauce. The chocolate blancmange stood out, smooth texture, but advertised online with salted honeycomb on top. It did not have any as a topping, and when asked, the waitress explained it was simply an added flavoring and offered to give us the honeycomb topping. Overall very nice experience, helpful and friendly staff.

Delicious food, freshly prepared and honestly cannot fault anything - the mozzarella; beef tartare; and cod cheeks all worth a mention as stunning! Friendly service. Blanc et Blanc Lebanese wine was a great choice too! Highly recommend!

It is quite rare to find a restaurant that can pull off such a variety of dishes to such a high standard, but there is some serious talent in the kitchen at Ox and Finch. It's the sort of place that makes you wish you had more than one stomach. Between two of us, we sampled the whipped feta and pita bread, the gnocchi with pea puree and pistachio pesto, the pork cheek with chicory and apricot, the trout with beurre blanc and had some chips on the side. Just about every element was delicious. The pita came out piping hot and slightly seasoned (we had to ask for extra, the dip was too good to waste), the gnocchi was good but the pesto and pea that came with it were great. The trout fell apart with a touch of the fork, the pork was excellent and the chips were very satisfying (perfectly crispy). The service team is largely quite young and they are friendly and approachable. They also have a broad selection of wines to pair with the food. With a carafe of wine between us, the meal came to approx £75 all in with service. It is easy to see why this place gets booked weeks in advance, definitely book ahead for this one.

Have quite enjoyed previous visits but not now. It remains VERY busy throughout the day being casual (very) and with small plates the menu appears cheap untill the final bill. Our reserved table was not ready and we were left to stand a while. The outside and inside are now looking worn, as were the staff. One chef tasting with his fingers, our waitress wipeing her hands on her blouse! The cheap white dishes dont improve the presentation. Chips were pleasant. All 3 took the most expensive plate, "200g dry aged rump fillet with diane sauce' at £15.50. It comes pre sliced but I left plenty as it was quite tasteless. Other small plates were also a bit rough and slapdash with little appeal. I wont be back to this part of their empire.

The first time I went to the ark I was ecstatic to find the service was on point. I want to say one server in particular helped out so much. Not only was he happy to help he was also available. Special shout out to Andy or Andrew for the service. He was a real one.
