Owain Glyndwr in Cardiff

Fui al pub a tomar unas cervezas después del partido Irlanda - Gales 6 naciones. Extremadamente ocupado - como es habitual después de un internacional en el Principado. TBH estaban muy por encima de lo que se consideraría seguro, pero la puerta seguía dejando que la gente se apiñara. Aceptando que usted tendrá que esperar para ser servido mi grupo mixto de amigos irlandeses y galeses pacientemente esperó y trabajó su camino al bar. Eso tomó unos 20 minutos. Tristemente la actitud y el servicio cuando llegamos allí fue una verdadera decepción. Ignorada repetidamente por un miembro del personal (una joven con piercings faciales y cabello rojo oscuro) fue grosera con uno de mis amigos y básicamente trabajó a ritmo de caracoles. Está claro que no estaba contenta con lo ocupado que estaba, pero esto se manifestó con una actitud realmente antipática. Una pena, ya que fuimos dolorosamente educados con ella. Volvimos a tomar una segunda ronda de copas, pero después de esperar en el bar durante unos 20 minutos mientras ella pasaba junto a nosotros y varios otros (muchos otros grupos estaban comentando sobre ello, así que sabemos que no éramos solo nosotros) nos dimos por vencidos y fuimos al Copa bar, donde el servicio era mucho mejor.

This is my absolute favourite place for food. I always get a mixed grill and Oh My Gosh is it the best!! I always come in and am greeted kindly. Ligia is the one I see every single time and is always there without fail with a smile and a friendly attitude. I love this place and will keep coming in the future

Overpriced meals that wasn't tasty don't have fish and chips not worth tiny portions.

The food was very good, served very quickly. Ligia, the lady who was taking orders, serving drinks and providing the table service, who was very busy, was highly attentive and very friendly, an asset to the establishment. Thank you Ligia :)

I liked it. Clean and bright. 2025 Good Beer Guide listed but with only a choice of two real ales. I chose a good pint of Grey Trees, Digger's Gold. I would call back in if I found myself in Cardiff again. Cheers.

Food ok, mix grill ok, gammon ok,but chicken cheese melt horrendous cheese wasn't even fresh! it looked like cheese from a tube🤢🤬, all drinks flat even though sent back came back a little better but still half flat

I love the atmosphere Good plan to eat not too expensive (drink dish) but it remains classic.

1 Food & Drink - The food is very much chain pub food standard think O'neils / Whetherspoon vibes it's not a Gastropub or anything like that, so its fine by that standard of expectation I give it 4* because there is a good range of drinks for selection and I don't go there for the food. 2. Prices - They are on the slightly higher side if you compare to other cheaper venues e.g. Kiwis, Live Lounge, Wetherspoons - Higher on mach days, as everywhere is. 3. Pros - SPORTS - Loads of large screen TV's everywhere, so great for Sport with SKY and TNT Sports . 4. Pros - Water available on bar, which is convenient for hydration and keeps bar staff free to serve people drinks. 5. Pro- Saturday Kareoke - I'm a regular to Kareoke they have a good sound system and you can hear yourself sing- usually positive vibes with supportive crowds. 6. Pro - Door Staff - Most door staff are friendly 6. Cons - I went here to watch the Euros England VS Spain, which I was surprised there was no door staff at all for...Yes it was fairly early in the Day and on a Sunday, but I had some overweight, drunk, racist Welshman with a pedo moustache, who was a sore loser and idiot who was supporting England "Because at least they're not foreigners" come up to me and start shouting racist abuse and swearing in my face, when Spain scored again, which I feel would not have occurred or would have been addressed if there was door staff. Cons - I purchased a bottle of Fanta £3 and asked for a pint glass with ice, as I don't usually drink alcohol except for special events e.g. parties, birthdays, or going on a full blown night out etc. I also do not like drinking Sodas, as unhealthy, but you have to buy something really don't you. I sipped it occasionally, went to Sing my karaoke song and glass collector took it when the glass was half full ! I complained to the same staff member I purchased from and the bar staff member was immediately rude and got sassy with me and essentially accused me of lying and said that I purchased it a long time ago and probably drank it. I said it is a very sugary drink, so I only sip it occasionally, but it's not something I would want to drink quickly and I wanted either 1.50 back or half a glass of soda back on tap was fine. He then asked the glass collector, which I think admitted they took the glass half full off the table, as it could of only been like 3 mins since singing my song and then he spoke to the manager, which gave me a new Fanta, which was the right thing to do to be honest. But I don't appreciate being called a liar to begin with or the initial attitude rude attitude of the bartender, when I explained the situation politely and calmly. Cons- Toilet Cleanliness always seem to be very dirty and messy and the tables always more often than not feel sticky.

We came here a few weeks ago, and came back today. Both times we were served by Molly, she was absolutely lovely both times. You could tell she is very hard working and gave great service every time we went up to the bar. Not often would I leave a review for service at a pub, but this time I will. Give her a raise or something!

Nice real ales, only went in for a drink, bit manic as it was just before Christmas, but good service.

Went here with my family for a meal, I had a steak and my parents got burgers, food was nice, not too expensive. But what the hell, £11 for 3 coffees? That is a complete rip off (1 double espresso, 2 americanos with milk), the coffee was very disgusting even, we haven't finished it. 4/5 because of that. Otherwise I recommend.

Worst pub food ever! I ordered the Mac and Cheese. Not complicated but I at least expected something that a pub was proud to serve. The kitchen had opened a Tin of Mac&Cheese and poured it into a bowl. Unbelievable

Not as traditional as some of the city-centre pub's in the area but, nevertheles, not a bad boozer with some very friendly customers - at least when I visited. The beer was very good and reasonably priced. I did not eat, so comments upon the food.

This pub is a fantastic spot for a laid-back evening with friends. The atmosphere is always buzzing, yet comfortable, and the staff are friendly and attentive. The drink selection is fantastic, especially the local craft beers, and the food is always tasty. It's the perfect place to relax after a long day or meet up for a casual night out.

Great if you want to keep drinking and watching sports on tv. Food not so good very small portions . Great if your in a hurry. It always depends on what the customer expects .overall I will give it a 6. I was so happy just to get something to eat on my special day with my daughter. We go to Cardiff every Christmas and look forward going for a nice meal. It was satisfactory. Sorry kids.

It is what it looks like, a well priced big pub. Great drinks selection Friendly staff. Decent prices Not too busy so could have a chat and a subsequent read comfortably. A very solid city centre pub!

Popped in for food with my partner and god I wish we didn't bother. Food was absolutely shocking. She had a burger which tasted off, I had a mixed grill. Steak was well over cooked when asked for medium but came out like ghandis flip flop, sausage was hard and chewy, gammon crispy and flat like a rizla paper, chicken dry as hell. Staff came over to clear our plates and didn't even ask how the food was, considering there was plenty left on our plates.Wow never eating there again.

Returned for another tasty and well priced meal, served quickly and with a smile. Thank you to all responsible. We will dine here again when in Cardiff.

I've been to the Owain Glyndwr a couple of times now, and I've always had a good time. It's a great little bar for watching sports, having a few drinks with friends, or just chilling out. The atmosphere is always lively and friendly. There's a great mix of people here, and everyone seems to be having a good time. The staff are also very friendly and welcoming. The drinks are reasonably priced and there's a good selection to choose from. They have a wide range of beers, wines, and spirits. It’s located in the heart of Cardiff and in within walking distance of several hotels and restaurants.

Good selection of both Cask and Keg Ales however not cheap. Paid £7.00 for a Pint of VOG Keg. Friendly staff.

I wish i'd eaten elsewhere. The fish fillet was very thin. Hardly any mushy peas on the plate either. Chips were ok but again not a large portion. Good service but that didn't help better the meal.

Great place with a lot of TV so you can enjoy the sports. Great variety of beers at a normal price.

The racism is so bad that East Asians are not allowed to sit in the good seats outside where you can see the music. I can't believe a store like this exists in this day and age. out of the question.

A nice pub, with a nice atmosphere just ruined by the poor service from staff. Came on a Thursday night for the weekly quiz, had booked two tables. Upon arriving we went to the bar and was ‘greeted’ by Bibi. It seemed like everything was too big of a problem and she could not care about us at all. This attitude from her was repeated many times throughout the evening and was commented on by almost everyone in our group.

Typical Welsh pub, on 2 floors with local and international beers, regular live music, mixed crowd, nice service, you can't get disturbed even when it's busy. Would love to come back.

Large pub situated close to the nightlife. Offers a wide variety of beers and good pubfood. The pub is crowded but offers more room upstairs. The app was not working but ordering at the bar is quick.

Popped in for a drink with friends after attending sport event service was quick and staff friendly. Great atmosphere with music playing for all to enjoy. Would recommend and will be back for sure

Really nice decor inside, we ordered so.e baguettes which were lovely and came within about 10 mins. Would return and would recommend.

Come in for something healthy, but they had sold out of salad, so I ordered steak and ice cream for dessert! It all come as one, I finished the steak, went for a second pint, and when I come back the table was cleared, including my untouched ice cream. Food was decent pub grub. Not expensive either.

It was a packed Friday night when we visited. The staff were polite and welcoming, the food was OK and arrived quickly. Not really our usual sort of place to visit but Cardiff was packed so we were lucky to get a table.

Always busy when we are in Cardiff, but its a great place to watch sports.

Most unfriendly bartender caused us to have 1 drink and leave even though our intent was to order food and stay. Unfortunately this woman was the most rude individual we encountered on our entire 3 week trip in the UK. Most unfortunate because our experience in Cardiff was fabulous otherwise.

Had a quiet lunch there with my mum and sisters. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food. It was all freshly cooked and very tasty. Free iced water in a pitcher on the bar. Plates were cleared quickly after we'd finished bug we didn't feel rushed.

It's a pub, they sell gin and probably other drinks as well. Sometimes do karaoke, which is always interesting

I was served by Saorla who was clearly a very lovely person. She humoured me, and guessed my favourite drink in 3 guesses. That was pretty impressive, although she wasn’t so impressed by my attempt at a Northern Irish accent. Her authentic Northern Irish accent was much nicer. I was glad they had Ginger Beer. Made me very happy. I was also happy that there were plenty of wall plugs around so I could charge my array of devices. Lovely experience, made nicer by a friendly interaction.

I like this pub, in the middle of city centre, you can sit outside and chill with your drink, the quality of the wines were good. There are loads of tv inside, I’ll go back to watch some match there later!

Popped in for some post-work drinks with friends. Lovely welcome, fantastic selection of drinks and amazing to see so many sports on different screens. Ended up staying longer than I intended! Food looked great too, and I will definitely be back to eat next time!

i have never been to a bar where you have to wait for over 20 minutes for a drink, even when there is hardly any people in front of me waiting. the bar staff refuse to move from the till to take orders and seem to have either very poor training or have no ability to see whose next in the queue. i waited there for over 20 minutes and saw 4 customers come in afer me and get served before me. i spoke to my father next to me about this and the manager overheard us and said if you want to get served quicker you should go into the 'middle of the bar'. i was shocked to hear of this and didnt really know what to say in return, so walked off. on returning back to the bar i saw the manager repeating what i said to his staff and was mocking me, this made me really angry and resulted in us drinking up fast and not returning for any more drinks and we wont be in the near future. the manager is clearly aware of the situation and showed very poor training and customer service experience. the company should seriously consider removing this manager and retraining the staff, it was terrible to see and i will complaining to head office accordingly.
