Overseas Cantonese Restaurant in Liverpool

We really enjoyed all of the food served here, there was so much variety on the all you can eat and the staff were friendly. We have just booked again.

Waited 2 hours for a takeaway delivery, then tried to phone to chase up, only to get a message saying they couldn’t take calls. As we had paid by card when ordering online, I got in the car and went round to the restaurant only to be told that our order was out with the driver. It had arrived by the time I got back, but was lukewarm and, to cap it all, one of the dishes wasn’t what we had ordered. My advice to customers - don’t bother with the delivery service. My advice to the restaurant - get more staff so that you can fulfil orders properly!

The food is tasteless, the service is very poor, myself and my wife used to visit the restraunt on a regular basis some years ago, thought we would go there for a meal and treat ourselves, what a change , I can safely say that it was the worst meal we have ever had in a restaurant

Visited this restaurant for the first time, got sweet and chicken with egg fried rice for take out. it tasted amazing, will definitely be getting food again in the near future.

Catered a small party of 9 at my home last Friday from here and can honestly say it was fantastic. The appetizers and mains came piping hot which was great. The staff are very helpful and friendly, the chef worked out how many portions of each of courses I would need for us all to share and honestly there was loads, I could have fed at least 12-14 people on the portion sizes we got - so there were plenty of doggy bags to take home afterwards! This is the second time i have catered for The Lee Dynasty and wouldn't hesitate to use them again . Fantastic team fantastic, food thank you xx

We order from here every couple of weeks. It’s by far the best tasting and best quality Asian food I’ve ever had. There’s nowhere in Liverpool that has better prawn toast and I dare anyone to prove me wrong. The staff are lovely too.

Went as a catch up with workmates for a meal and it was my recommendation as i have been here before. Restaurant was quieter than usual this day but the food didn't stop to impress with every dish coming out to us. My 3 friends were very highly impressed especially one who had a lot of vegetarian food he said was outstanding!! This restaurant is an absolute gem of a place and never disappoints, whether it is on the starters or for the main course. Staff are friendly and not overenthusiastic by interrupting you every 5 minutes!! If you go you won't want anywhere else as despite it being an "all you can eat" style buffet that is brought out to you as and when you ask for the food or more or it, it is high quality, enjoy!

Food was terrible Salt-N-Pepa squid worst I’ve ever had.Chewy crispy chilli beef a big letdown.Really disappointed.Food is over an hour to arrive when being told it would be 30 minutes.

Just had a takeaway this evening and it was absolutely delicious. We have had takeaways from Lee Dynasty before and kept meaning to leave a review but the food tonight was so good I have come on straight away to post. The staff are always helpful and friendly, the portions of food are always really generous and it is such good value for money too.

Ordered food 2.5 hours ago. Still not arrived. Restaurant has taken the phone off the hook. Absolute disgrace.

Un amigo me recomendó venir aquí y dijo que es un lugar realmente agradable, que ordené y los entrantes con mi compañero de comida estaban deliciosos, luego en la comida principal pedí pollo agridulce con arroz frito, luego llega la comida el agridulce era en realidad cerdo que no me gusta y sin arroz frito Le dije al miembro del equipo que ella confirmó que era cerdo y mencioné que pedí pollo y tampoco obtuve arroz frito, estaba cerca de la hora de cierre. a ocupado apresurándose para limpiarse y luego va a pagar me preguntaron si habíamos estado antes, a lo que respondí que no la primera vez, le expliqué todo lo anterior y no me preguntaron si quiero que se vuelva a hacer o el arroz frito. The food is next level, not too much and not too little just the right amount. Flavours and portions are succulent and juicy not dry at all, would 100% recommend. Also a budget competitive for the North Garden Thanks guys would definitely visit again :)

Had the All You Can Eat buffet. Excellent food across all courses. Great service and drinks very reasonably priced. Will definitely go again.

En su lugar, paga un precio fijo de 16. 90 por cabeza (6. 90 para un niño) y puedes pedir todo lo que quieras del menú, pero todo viene recién servido como lo haría en cualquier restaurante en lugar de un buffet en el que te sirves. Just returned from Lee Dynasty restaurant after another splendid meal. 5 course menu for 24.95. Soup excellent. Rinse spring rolls crispy seaweed pickled veg prawn toast chicken suimai crispy duck two mains yung chow fried rice then dessert. Excellent

Family of 5 went on Thursday 24/10/2019. The food was very nice and we would go back again. However,they seemed to be a little under staffed because the service was a bit slow.

A superb Chinese restaurant. The all you can eat is great value for money and all cooked fresh for you by a great chef. Jasmin is a brilliant waiter if you are lucky enough to get him. A hidden gem. Make a visit.

Went to the Lee Dynasty with my wife and granddaughter for an early evening banquet. As many starters as you can eat brought to you at your pace. Had crispy seaweed, ribs,soup,prawn crackers, really crispy spring rolls all excellent. Then duck and pancakes. Plenty of meat on duck. Followed by the best shredded crispy beef. Lastly really light banana fritters. All for under £17.00 a head. Well worth a visit to this little gem. Staff very helpful and attentive.

Usually very good meals but the curry sauce this time was floating in oil - too greasy to eat....Would still visit again as food normally very appetizing.

Had a selection of starters and sizzling king prawn main. All served piping hot and delicious. Jazwin our waiter was so attentive and efficient. Highly recommended. Will be coming back for all you can eat!

We have been getting takeaway from here for years which has always been fab. Recently the fried rice with the main meals is very claggy and Sauces too rich. We preferred the lighter sauces with more vegetables. The starters and the duck is still fab please go back to old ways, the rice has been ruined.

Family run Asian restaurant. All-you-can-eat but do not over-order to avoid food waste. No buffet but a menu to chose from. Great fro going out with friends. Prices for drinks are un-restaurantlike: truly and surprisingly low.

Definitely the best Chinese takeaway I've ever had in Liverpool. Tasty, hot, fresh, good portions and very reasonable price. Hopefully the food will be consistent!

Visited this restaurant for their Sunday Buffet, you order your preferences off a large choice of starters main meals and sweet. This is all cooked fresh for you each time you order. It is unbelievable value and served by very friendly staff. Will definitely be returning

A friend recommended this restaurant to us, so we came for a birthday treat. We were not disappointed. One of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve been to. Very friendly staff, didn’t have to wait long for food to arrive, and all the items we ordered were absolutely delicious (the salt & pepper ribs were divine, I couldn’t help ordering a second portion).

We regularly drive from Woolton to Lee Dynasty as the food is so much better than the two Woolton Chinese restaurants - and anything on offer in Allerton. The restaurant looks quite basic from the outside and is on a busy junction, but plenty of free parking is available nearby. The road is serviced well by buses and there is a train station about a 10 minute walk away.

Have been coming to this restaurant for around 8-9 years now and can honestly say it is consistently up there with the finest ( more expensive) restaurants that I have ever been in , and I have been in a few, the staff are superb...

A new name and new staff uniforms make this restaurant look smarter. Food seems pretty standard but Sunday buffet is very good value

Estado aquí unas cuantas veces antes, esta ocasión había una mesa grande de nosotros. El personal de sonido y tomó nuestros pedidos en menos de 10 minutos de estar allí. En cuanto a la comida, era de calidad. Gran tamaño de las porciones y buena velocidad. Sin duda alguna volveremos.

Recientemente cambió su nombre a la dinastía Lee pero no actualizadas en tripadvisor! Restaurante comida muy sabrosa llegó caliente temprano puertas variedad buen menú. Deco aún necesita una reforma. Servicio muy educado, podría ser un poco más rápido. Sin duda volveremos el mejor chino en el sur de Liverpool.

Tried a few of the dishes:- Prawn crackers (really good)-Siew steamed buns-Duck pancakes -Pork ribs -Prawn meatballs (favourite)My favourite home dish is Cha siew pau, which was actually a bit lacking in filling. But the bun was light and fluffy, which was great. The duck (half) was meaty and we were certainly full by the end (2 adults.) Ribs were yummy but not very meaty if that's what you are looking for.Friendly staff :) Definitely worth a try!!

The Lee Dynasty (formerly Overseas) is one of Aigburth's hidden gems - a small restaurant that you'd be forgiven for walking past without paying much attention to, but it's excellent. We've been several times before, but this was the first time since the change of name and menu. The food was very good, especially the Fried Duck in Plum Sauce, and the atmosphere relaxed - always a nice place to come for a quiet meal with friends and family.

This restaurant has changed name to Lee dynasty but still owned by same people. Brill restaurant. Fantastic takeaway. Buy with confidence

The takeaway food here is excellent and the staff are always pleasant and polite. Well worth a visit if you are in this area.

Have been getting takeaways for years from here and go here to eat around Christmas with family. The food is always tasty and excellent value (especially the set menu during the week) and staff friendly. Somehow this restaurant never seems very busy and I don't know why- possibly due to it's location (nothing much nearby in terms of restaurants and bars etc).

Went here on a Sunday for the all you can eat offer. You ordered off the main menu so it was great. You weren't eating low quality food that's been sitting around for hours. There's only so much you can eat but it was great to be able to order a good range of dishes between us all. Great concept and very little waste. Food very tasty and service was good.

I've eaten in this Restaurant a few times when visiting Liverpool. On this occasion the experience was every bit as good as previous. I love the simplicity of this restaurant. Excellent food, great service & comfortable surroundings. Highly recommended.

We decided to try here after reading the excellent TA reviews and were not disappointed. Starters were very good, and the mains excellent - my choice of three meats in birds nest was the tastiest in a long while. All our food choices were good, fresh, subtly flavoured, nicely cooked and plenty to share. Staff were friendly and service was efficient. Toilets were clean - ladies and gents. We were seated at a rickety table which was a minor irritation and couldn’t swap because the others were occupied. The tables are quite small and, being a group of four, much plate juggling ensued to make our shared starters and drinks fit on the table. Having said that, we are planning a return visit in the near future and have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant.

Arrived at 6:30. Restaurant was empty. Ordered Chinese tea for two. The teapot was dreadful, not matter how you picked it up it still leaked everywhere!Ordered hot and sour soup and chicken satay from the early bird menu. Soup was lovely, but took and age. Main didn't arrive until 45 minutes after ordering.

The food is above average and some dishes are amazing like the sizzling plate special with chicken, prawn and steak in a lovely sauce which is tangy like sweet and sour. They have done the restaurant up in the past year and it does look lovely inside but is only a small space. The service needs massively improving. It is very very slow and anytime I have complained about anything I just feel I have been ignored, not even an apology.If you love a Chinese on a Sunday you need to go here in the afternoon for the all you can eat from the menu. You get to try a lot of dishes and it is very cheap (around £10).Will keep returning just for the sizzling plate special!

I often use the restaurant for a takeaway to be delivered and enjoy the food,but the sui mai are hit or miss,one night they were the best I have ever tasted,the next time they went in the bin! One night I ordered late and the food tasted not fresh,as though it had been reheated so call early evening!

Ordered on a Friday Evening 3 main meals food was hot very tasty and fantastic value. Only downside it took an hour to arrive but the wait was worth it. Staff are friendly and delivery drivers friendly and polite.

I went here yesterday for the last time and indulged the Sunday buffet but was shocked at the service provided. The list is endless from the miserable staff, 10 year olds getting charged adults prices, forgetting soup orders and prawn crackers also getting no spring onion, cucumber or hoi sin sauce with the duck, then staff tried to charge full price on half a plate of chicken fried rice that my 9 year old niece had left and when challenged on this they gave some nonsense about saving the world and environment. Embarrassed for the staff we decided to cancel the dessert order so we could leave and on the way out staff had the cheek to say that they hadn't charged for the half plate of food, while offering no apology for ruining the desserts ordered. If management think their getting a raw deal when folk order from the buffet menu then I suggest you don't offer one as taking it out on the customer is not best policy, although the fact that the place was empty when we arrived speaks volumes. Overall the food here is very good as is the value, if you don't mind being treated with disdain it ticks the boxes !

Booked table via via text message & email for a surprise for my mothers n law for mothers day treat and when we arrived we we're told they knew nothing o f the booking...was then told if we eat fast we would be offered main course only ...my husband and I are/were regulars at this restraurant for many many years and I have reviewed it positive but, on this occasion I'm sorry to have to say I'm appalled at the poor service we DID NOT receive!

I have been to this restaurant a few times over the last 6 months now. The food is above average and the price reasonable. I always order take away, but food is always ready when I arrive. Two comments: the salt and pepper chicken I bought today had chicken that was clearly not fresh. It was rubbery because it was old chicken that was then deep fried. This is a "no, no." It would have been so much nicer if they would just use fresh chicken! Easy thing to do.Secondly, and quite importantly, there was a very long strand of hair in the food. It was in the salt and pepper chicken too! ARgh. This also is easily avoided - wear a hair net or just tie your hair up!You know, I want your establishment to do well, as the food here is above average for Liverpool (sorry liverpool!), and it is easily achievable. we got a takeaway for 3 meats with cantonese, also deep fried combination with sweet n sour, rice and chips, duck parcels and prawn crackers, it was absolutely amazing, the best ever, the price was extremely reasonable, the guy who delivered it was very friendly, i strongly recommend this restaurant

Booked this restaurant for my nephews birthday based on trip advisor rating. Got to say, the food was excellent. Staff very friendly and would definitely go back. Food took a while between courses but there was 10 of us and it was worth the wait.

Visited this restaurant on nye, good service! Great food! Revisited 4days later to try there "all u can eat buffet menu" was pleasantly surprised to find that u can eat as much as u like but foods not kept on hot plates but infact they prepare it freshly when u order of the menu! Couldn't praise the restaurant enough!

Recently visited with family and had to wait a while even though we had booked. Food was excellent though and will definitely visit again. Very good value considering how good the food was.

My husband and I visited the restaurant on Sunday 23rd November. We decided to try something a bit different this time...Oh My Gosh we had our own little barbecue going...We were able to cook our shrimps and chicken at the table...My goodness, The dishes we were served were just out of this world...Hopefully we are back there again this coming weekend.Just can't get enough of this food

Visited Wednesday evening and had the Teatime Menu £9.95 each. Beautiful , piping hot. We had soup, Platter to share. (Paid extra for soup) I had Chicken with Cantonese sauce, and my husband had Beef with green pepper followed by Banana fritter.The young lady who served us was delightful very friendly.Would highly recommend.

Went the overseas for tea with the hubby and daughter save cooking looks very small outside it is inside but food and service was great nice intimate little place would highly recommend it

We have eaten a number of times at this restaurant in the last few years and have sampled quite a few dishes from their menu and I don't think we have ever been disappointed. The restaurant is small and perhaps a little lacking in atmosphere but that is a very minor point in comparison to its pluses. The food is good, prices are reasonable and the staff are both efficient and charming.

Love the food in here, been going to this little restaurant for many years now, even when it changed over ownership the standards never dropped. Visit this restaurant probably twice a month and when we can't get out to it we order home delivery...The staff always remember our names and are so very friendly.To sum it up.....Reasonably priced food, Exceptionally friendly staff!!

My chap and I used to come here a lot when I lived in Liverpool, but it's been four years since we last visited and we weren't sure they'd remember us when we dropped in on Friday evening - they did! The food was great....as always....and the service was warm, friendly and attentive...as ever. We love this place! Let's not leave it so long until the next time............

A Great little place (closed for refurbishment) The Singapore Noodles are a must, but the Ribs a little dry however. The Service was fast and the staff friendly. Eat in or take out... I would recommend this establishment for a nice evening out with friends or that special person.

The food here is very good and I visit this place a lot more frequently than I should! The staff are very good, they even gave me an umbrella when it was raining. I particularly recommend the seafood delicacies.

Without doubt tonight my husband and I had the BEST DUCK EVER!!yes the decor is very dated but unless you are going to stare at the walls all night who cares??good service without being in your face very polite and very efficient!!This was our first visit but certainly won't be our last!So if its great food with a relaxing atmosphere this is the place for you!.

Absolutely love this place! Never had better Cantonese food anywhere, it never lets us down. Yes it could do with a spruce both inside and out but all is forgotten when you sample the yummy delights. Some great offers to be had here as well and lovely, welcoming and very friendly staff. Only one problem: Please open every day of the week!

Doesn't look much from the outside, but the Overseas is excellent. Been there many, many times, food and service always excellent. Taken lots of friends and family there and they all agree that it's amazing!

This small unassuming restaurant belies the quality of the fine dining experience there. If I lived nearby would be my regular..everything was so fresh and beautifully prepared..vegetables and sauces, Malaysian style..was top quality. The duck with pancakes was best I have eaten..the chickens satay had a delicate peanut sauce..The service could not have been better or more welcoming..

I have been many times to this restaurant and although it is not the most flashy of places, the food more than makes up for that. It is excellent value and always enjoyable.

Craving for Chinese cuisine & decided to try this F&B - a very good decision made.Greeted by a smiley & polite young lady, she showed us to a table & asked for any drinks order.We ordered a Crispy duck with pancakes & hoi sin sauce & a Mee Goreng to share. It was simply delicious & waitress even offered extra pancakes FOC.Mee Goreng was ok, however, we noticed lotsa of takeaway orders from their customers, mostly regulars.. It was amazing as the waitress could immediately recognised & chatted casually regarding their orders & personal stuff.Overall - Kudos!

Absolutely fantastic food and very reasonable prices. We love Cantonese food and have eaten in restaurants which have won Good Food and Egon Ronay commendations etc. but the Overseas Restaurant blew us away. It is THE best Cantonese food we have ever tasted - just so sorry we live miles away in Herefordshire. :(
