Great venue for bands, lovely staff, didn't eat this time but the pizzas looked immense so will be trying soon. Nice little beer selection too 👍

Fantastic grass roots venue in the heart of Liverpool, 5 mins walk from Lime Street. Was there Seeing Pales Strangers return gig with Van Royal and MRI in support. Great night.

All the staff was very unwelcoming and basically snarled me every time I’d walk through for a cigarette. Considering it’s an alternative venue it’s not very welcoming. I asked if they sold lager and got a snotty comment saying we only sell good ale. The attitude from the all staff was so unwelcoming, I will definitely not be back.

Walking down Renshaw Street I along with my twin brother Stephen decided to drop into Outpost, been here before on many occasions, always had a good time and so it proved on our latest visit. I love the look of this craft beer bar, its dark and cosy,a cool looking serving bar dominates the main room, eclectic decor and furnishings, beer fridge bulging with great bottles and cans of craft beers and there's lots of seating options spread throughout this bar, its a great bar to chill out in. We had a study of their beer range, very impressive, in the end we went for a pale ale each from Glen Affric Brewery, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling, we chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular craft beer bar. A big fan of this pale ale ,its brewed locally across the River Mersey in Glen Affric Brewery ( Knox Street, Birkenhead ) ,been this breweries taproom and all their beers are good and their pale ale is one of their flagship beers,well balanced, hoppy, hints and vanilla, a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a smooth finish, hardly surprising that this bar is so popular with beers served in this good a condition, it was just so good being in such a good craft beer bar enjoying a quality brew and sat with my twin brother Stephen, best beer companion in the world. We really enjoyed our pale ale's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to Outpost we had a great time. Outpost is easy to locate along Renshaw Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Wednesday, closed. Thursday to Sunday, open from 4pm. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

I love the venue and the performances that I seen. I also love craft beer so it wasn’t a problem for me but there wasn’t other cheap larger which would make more sense to provide given the clientele. The staff seemed a bit judgemental and kept staring at me and made a rude remark to my partner because he didn’t enjoy the beer. It’s a shame because the bar is a vibe just be better if the staff where sounder ✨

Absolutely brilliant live venue this. Range of drinks at the bar was excellent and not too overly priced considering the location. FB page liked now so can keep up to speed with what's happening. Will be back for sure 🤘

Weird attitude towards me but not my friend .... I'm 25 (soon to be 26), wasnt even buying drinks but the female bartender aggressively asked for my ID as I walked towards the loo,and she had a moody attitude at me and snatched it off me (fair tbh working with the public can do that), then she turned to my younger (by a few years!!!) male friend who was actualy buying drinks, and she didnt ask for his ID...... and she leant in towards him and seemed flirty, I cba with this catty behaviour, be going to other venues from now on .I felt disrespected that she instantly turned to him and didnt ask for his ID , right after giving me attitude even though I just wanted the loo. ..., please ask my young friend next time (who is buying the drinks ) for his ID ...me and my friend are not not going here again because we wanted to be treated equally....

The Outpost on Renshaw street is a superb bar that offers a fantastic craft beer range and pizza and host's live music most nights of the week.This is our first trip to this bar in over a year as we thought this superb craft beer bar had closed. This brilliant bar has a lived-in interior with many interesting fixtures and features and superb seating options and was very busy when we visited here in the evening.On our visit we had a few glasses of craft ales that where perfectly served and well priced. This is a superb bar in a superb area that's well worth a visit if your around this area of the city centre.(This is my second review of the Outpost). Opening Hours. Monday-Wednesday-Closed. Magnificent venue - doesn't need aircon as only the coolest people go there. Also craft ales and pizza to die for.

We came here for our friends birthday. It was extremely busy as she didn't think that everyone she had invited would turn up. It's very nice and I can highly recommend there massive pizzas. We had a vegetarian one.

Great selection of beers, amazing pizza and an excellent variety of live gigs on every week. Been to dozens of gigs there but sadly due to the annoying smoke effects, I always come away with a terrible chesty cough and it aggravates my asthma no end. There is little to no ventilation (that I can see) so why smoke is always being pumped in I have no idea. Bit of a shame but it's not worth the days of coughing after.

it is a nice and friendly venue, but the gig room at the back is so stuffy, has no air circulation at all, and theyh close the only door that can give it air so the front of the place is quieter. for it to be a better venue they need to fit some sort of air conditioning system in there. if they did that then it would get 5 stars as the selection of drinks if great, the pizzas are great and the staff are great, but i wouldn't go there again for a gig due to how stuffy it is in the back.

Everytime we visit Outpost it feels like we've been coming for years, the staff are always so kind and seem really interested in actually making a connection and conversation. We visited for a quick beer and pizza and it was really nice to just hang out and eat a fresh pizza.

I seen Live Like Wolves first gig here. The place is wee and intimate but it's great for bands to start. There is plenty different beers and ciders available, we never had food but will try a pizza the next time I visit.

Intimate bar setting with a cool retro geek aesthetic, a varying and constantly updating selection of drinks and awesome vegan/vegetarian pizzas. Add in the even more awesome staff and it's easily one of my favourite places to hang out in Liverpool.

Great music/bands on at this place last night. However, came here expecting to have pizza and wine and was told they had neither. It was ridiculously stuffy in there also, felt almost dangerous in the back room. Staff were friendly and helpful. 👍🏻

Without a shadow of a doubt one of my favourite craft beer bars to visit is Outpost down Renshaw Street. I love the look of this bar ,a cool interior, nice decor and furnishings throughout, a cool looking serving bar and some really good pieces of wall art ,there's also plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar, a great place to visit and unwind in. My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Saturday evening, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of the staff, we gave our details of name, phone number or email address to assist with the governments track and trace system and then sanitised our hands and ordered a beer each, we chose Camden Brewery pale ale ,these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just kicked back and took in the great bar we were in. My pale ale was really good, a light,hoppy and unpretentious pale ale bursting with taste,very easy to drink, a beer style both myself and my twin brother Stephen are particularly fond of. We both really enjoyed our pale ale's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to here we had a great time. Outpost is easy to locate along Renshaw Street, a street and area with some really exciting pubs and bars along. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, Open from 4pm. Oh god, the pizza was fantastic, they did me a half and half, it was so so good. The staff were so friendly and the fridges were full of different beers. I loved the decor, it was totally perfect for a sci fi and pizza lover.

Outpost has become possibly my favourite bar in the city. They are always stocked with interesting beers which the knowledgeable friendly staff are ready to recommend if you feel like trying something new. The dive bar feel of the place along with the amazing music playing both behind the bar or some nights live in the back room lends itself to a great atmosphere to enjoy a beer or slice of their delicious pizza in. Looking forward to my next visit!

Visited with family, the staff were fantastic and very knowledgeable. I particularly enjoyed the thin style bases of the pizza. It was refreshing to see a vegetarian pizza place that offered so many options. Wish we had something this nearer to home. :-)

As a photographer of Bands at Gig Venues around the area, I've been a regular attender at this place, but, this was my first visit in it's new guise, having previously been known as 'Maguires'. The Bar in the main area, has been modified, to it's benefit, and the choice of seating is still cosy, varied and relaxing. Overall, there is a great atmosphere. I'm not a Beer drinker, but, there is certainly a good range of choice. On this visit, I didn't eat, but, the food certainly looked, and smelled, very good! The back room, where the Bands play, is a good size, with a decent space for the musicians to set-up their gear and play. The area for the customers can allow for around 70 at best, standing only. The area just inside the entrance door, is occupied by the lighting/sound engineer, and his gear. I'm told there is new stage lighting in the offing. There is also a space for the Bands to sell their merchandise. I'm very pleased with the changes in 'Outpost', will be visiting again, and, wish it every success. (Note- my 'Ratings' are based upon observation, comments and conversations with people attending).

A lot has been written already about the quality of the beer, pizzas and the attractiveness (some moderately more attractive than others) of the staff so I'd like to highlight an important but often overlooked element of any bar/eatery. The toilets flush beautifully, a really satisfying press on the handle is rewarded with a good quality water flush with appropriate flushing sounds. 10/10 would poo here again.

Just seen a play at St George’s Hall so called in here for some drinks and a discussion about the verdict. The play was about the Wallace murder trial in the 1930’s. Place was busy but we got a table, see photos for our drinks choices, good atmosphere, good service, quick and friendly.

Good stop and rest to knock back a few beers. Good music, good beers, comfy seating. What more could you ask for.

This was our second visit to this superb craft beer bar and I now know this will be a regular haunt of mine on all subsequent trips into Liverpool city centre I take. My brother and I were here on a Wednesday evening, this bar was quite busy with a great atmosphere, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of staff, after a quick study of the beers on offer we both opted to have Blue Point Brewery " toasted lager 5.5% " these were served in excellent condition, we got a nice positioned table by the big bay windows were we just chilled out and took in the great bar we were in. This is a cool looking bar,its got an edgy look to it with eclectic decor and furnishings including a cool looking serving bar, it's one really good bar to enjoy some quality beers. My beer was superb,a malty lager style beer, very well crafted, a beautiful aftertaste and very refreshing, a really enjoyable brew. We really enjoyed our beers in here and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to here we had a great time. Outpost is really easy to locate on Renshaw Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, Open from 4pm. A relatively new addition to the vibrant Liverpool drinking scene,most definitely well worth checking out if your in the area.

When to see the spare rib - shimmy n' slice show. The event was in the back room the guy at the bar was lovely. Drinks prices are good for town. Friends said the veg pizza was good. Will be going back.

My twin brother Stephen and I were pub and bar hopping around this part of town when we chanced upon this new craft beer bar,new to us anyway and we couldn't resist venturing in for a drink and check out this craft beer bar as we are big fans of craft beer and what a great find. The bar looks superb,it's got an edgy look to it with eclectic decor and furnishings, a long serving bar and plenty of seating options spread throughout this craft beer bar,beers on offer are displayed on boards behind the bar, it's just one cool bar,a bar I am so pleased we visited.We were here on a Saturday night, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of staff, after a quick study of the craft beers on offer we both opted to have a beer from Love Lane Brewery and went for an IPA style beer,beers were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling, we just chilled out and took in the great craft beer bar we were in. Liverpool is justifiably famous for its nightlife and it's bars like this that make Liverpool such an exciting city.My IPA was absolutely fantastic, a hoppy, well balanced effervescent beer bursting with taste, very easy to drink, a beer style I am particularly fond of, my brother also gave the thumbs up to his beer. We really enjoyed our beers in here and although we only stayed for the one beer before we moved on for a first time visiting the wonderful craft beer bar we were very impressed and eagerly look forward to returning here on our next trip into Liverpool city centre. I used to like popping in here for a pizza and sometimes live music when it was Maguires, so glad it hasn't changed much. If I'm being a miserable git (which I am) I would say the beer isn't to my taste and I would appreciate a cask ale or two. But it's not the end of the world. A proper local bar owned by good people.

Great food (even though I'm not vegetarian or vegan) Boss beers. Ace space for bands with some great shows happening on a regular basis. Staff are top notch too. Highly recommended.

I have to say that Outpost is truly unique to the liverpool scene. As an independent music venue they really offer a great space for people to enjoy a drink or even a bite to eat. If you enjoyed maguires then you will love this bar. I came here for my birthday at the weekend and they really looked after me and my friends. The pizza was great and the drink selection was on top form. Definitely would recommend this bar. Thank you for your hospitality.

Banging food, boss selection of craft ales and normal largers/cider and a lovely swanky looking bar to sit at! Gigs on in the boss back room! Vegan and veggie food that will blow your tiny mind! AMAZING staff!!!
