Bacaro in Liverpool

Absolutely smash it every time. Ended up going twice in a week because of how unreal the food, drinks and service are. Favourite place to eat in liverpool easily!

If I could give this place 500 stars I would. I was diagnosed with IBS and was told by the doctors to cut out gluten + dairy and no garlic or onion, eating out is virtually impossible for me and always a stress… but as soon as I walked in, we were served by Carolina, who went back and forward with the chefs in the kitchen to ensure they could make me something safe to eat, I ended up with 3 dishes and they were all delicious. It’s the first time I’ve enjoyed eating out in almost a year. So firstly, Carolina you are a star!! & to the chefs who made my food, it was delicious! finally, this is a great restaurant who take dietary requirements seriously ( they have separate gluten free, vegan and dairy free menus) , I’m not sure they’d want me to return!! but I’d certainly come here for a lovely meal again. Thank you team Bacaro, you made my trip to Liverpool a memorable one.

Really enjoyed our visit here. It’s a 5-star experience based on the lunch menu and concept – you can get 3 courses for £15, so we combined and shared six (pictured below!), which was plenty. We paired it with a carafe of Montepulciano. Our servers were attentive, and the food arrived promptly without any long waits. The quality was excellent for the price, and I love the idea of Italian tapas! It’s a lively, busy spot where people are enjoying cocktails and meals, right in the heart of Liverpool. The decor is lovely, and you can watch the chefs cooking everything from scratch. Skip the boring chains and come here – highly recommended!

Great food, service very bad, some waitresses without apron and without dress changes, bar lad cutt his hand witch means should have a glove on his hand, not just a bandage because of blood contamination, waitress opened a bottle of wine holding the top neck of the bottle in her hands….. I had a great service, but what I’ve seen around was really … bad

We normally eat here on special occasions so maybe three times a year . Although the food was tasty the portion sizes have reduced dramatically. I ordered the Slow cooked Harisa lamb tagliatelle and searched but gave up hope of trying to find any lamb . Disappointing really as we had a fantastic meal here in April .

First time visit for three people. Basically it's an Italian tapas bar. Fantastic food. A couple of dishes weren't to everyone's taste but that was just a matter of personal choice. The Italian wine was superb. The staff went overboard to fit us in because our original table was in use. We were late. Prices were very reasonable.

Food was brilliant. Each dish absolutely delicious and really nice to have small plates of Italian. Would definitely recommend

Really disappointing experience. Visited Bacaro many times and came for dinner with some friends. Initially had to send my food back as it was overcooked, then when it came to paying the bill we were accused of being short of the amount due. We had already paid a deposit and paid more than the amount due including service charge and a tip. After reprinting 4 receipts and 4 staff stood round the till for more than 20 minutes while we sat waiting, the manager admitted it was a misunderstanding and an error on their till. Really disappointing and awkward end to the meal, and little to no acknowledgment or attempt to make up for the poor service and waiting round at the end of our meal.

We visited Liverpool for a couple of days and found this place by chance. Sat at the bar and had an amazing dinner. Our server Lisa was amazing. She was so knowledgeable and had great recommendations. We enjoyed everything she selected for us. We got the mushroom pizza, meatballs, pork belly but the best dishes were the beets with whipped feta and the goat cheese/walnut/honey crostini. Yum!!!! The atmosphere was great and we really enjoyed our dinner. Again, our server was amazing and stayed around after we paid to chat with us. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Food was good however staff tried to scam extra on top of our bill, took near 10 people to figure out what we had told them the entire time. “A miss understanding” wasn’t a miss understanding from me and my party when we explained our entire bill multiple times. Staff need training in customer service ASAP.

I’ve been to Bacaro several times, and I’ve always enjoyed the food and service. However, my recent visit left me deeply disappointed. This time, I went without a reservation and was seated near the kitchen, which normally wouldn’t be an issue for me. But to my surprise, this seating arrangement ended up ruining our night. The food was great as always, and the service was excellent. However, throughout the entire evening, a kitchen manager was constantly yelling at the chefs. It was incredibly uncomfortable to witness and hear this. The chefs were doing an amazing job, but I can’t imagine what it must be like to work under those circumstances. I find it hard to believe that this kind of behavior is tolerated in this day and age. It’s a shame because Bacaro has been one of my go-to places, but after this experience, I won’t be returning. I don’t feel right supporting a restaurant that treats its staff this way. It’s truly unfortunate.

A splendid place to enjoy lunch with friends. Excellent food, good wine and first class service.

First time visiting here, had been recommended but couldn’t actually believe how good the food was. Our server Lisa was exceptional and knowledgeable, talked us through the menu given personal recommendations, checked on us throughout and genuinely made our visit so much better. Massive asset to the company, couldn’t praise her enough! 100% will be coming back, and recommending to friends!

Our first visit to Bacaro will certainly be the first of many. Every dish was tasty, hot, fresh, beautifully cooked and presented but lovely attentive friendly staff. Very reasonable carafe of superb house red made it a perfect meal. Thank you. See you soon.

We had heard good things about Bacaro through social media and decided to try it for a friends birthday. Staff were very welcoming and polite on arrival, as well as providing a fast service. The food was top quality. Dishes we chose included, the pan fried sea bass, the cauliflower & dolcelatte croquettes and the fillet of beef with tempura prawns. All were very flavourful and well-portioned. We will definitely be returning to try some different dishes! Thank you!!

Nice welcome,great food can be pricey though . Also we had some additional items on our bill which can be easily overlooked when a few people order several dishes each.

Walking in because it was raining and the closest place. Got very lucky, as it was a great find. Food was really tasty and great value. Excellent customer services.

Had the loveliest time here for my friends twenty second birthday ! All of the staff were so lovely, helpful and accommodating - especially our lovely waitress Maria, she was so lovely and helpful and served us with a smile! The food was also so tasty but the service was outstanding definitely be coming back!!!!

Sorry Bacaro but having been one of our go to choices for many years we were so disappointed last week - food was nice but portion sizes were small & prices high - eg goat’s cheese & walnut at 4 50 was very small piece of French stick with a blob of cheese on & left us all feeling ripped off - we initially thought the plate with 2 pieces on was for one person but were informed it was for 2 - appreciate it’s tapas but even so - plus couldn’t hear ourselves talk due to table next to us which was centimetres away from ours - won’t be rushing back I am afraid

I recently visited an Italian restaurant located centrally, the portion sizes were quite small .You’ll need at least three dishes per person to feel satisfied. The service was just okay, nothing remarkable. We tried the Carbonara pizza, beet salad, beef fillet, and salmon, followed by a pistachio tart for dessert. The food was decent. Prices for a single dish ranged from £6-£13 Overall, it was nice to discover a new spot, but I probably won’t return.

Popped in for a small lunch and some drinks. Really nice little plates and a wide variety of dishes. Will definitely be back to try more. We sat outside in the sun and it was a lovely atmosphere. Food and drinks came quickly and the staff were friendly and polite

A wonderful restaurant, the food was delicious, the staff were very helpful, and the order was not delayed and arrived quickly Orders were mushroom pizza, chicken pizza, calamari, spaghetti pasta, meat fettuccine, and fried potatoes with herbs.

Chose this spot for my graduation dinner with family that had travelled up. Best decision - top cuisine, top service and a great night at this venue. Big thanks to Tristan especially, for making sure we were satisfied at all times and made our experience really enjoyable.

We've stayed in Liverpool for few days and dined in few different - and Bacaro was definitely our favourite! Food was really nice and the portions what yoyd expect from 'small plates' format. We'll definitely come in again next time we're in Liverpool!

Went for lunch. Had the 3 plates for £18. I had a pizzette, beetroot salad and a pasta dish. Nice portion sizes and all very tasty. Can recommend

Delicious food and lovely atmosphere. The waitress was lovely though spilt a drink on one of us. Would have at least expected the drink to be on the house due to this. Hence the 4 star rating rather than 5.

Stumbled across this chic little eatery. Great selection of small plates. Some familiar some not. I had Chorizo and honey, Lamb Marguez pizzette, Beef fillet with tempura prawns. Warm foccacia. and roasted cod with porcini mushrooms and chicken butter sauce. All were good apart from the cod. Unfortunately underseasoned and pretty bland, cod was also quite mushy suggesting it was frozen and not fresh. Great service.good cocktails, Attentive staff. Will come again.

Absolutely brilliant friendly service as we arrived (think it was the lady manager) Yes it was busy, it was also warm for the staff (right temperature for customers) but the service by all the staff was consistent and friendly even though it was absolutely rammed full when we got there. The 3 courses afternoon menu was perfect, I was thinking of ordering more but it was plenty to have 6 dishes between 2 of us. Again in some places the food slips on the offer maybe not as good or smaller plates but not at your restaurant, quality food and well presented. I have been eating at both your restaurants for years and consistently keeps me coming back. Keep up the great work and obviously a very well done for the brilliant chefs working hard to deliver for your customers.

The best small plates restaurant in Liverpool and Liverpool has lots of fab restaurants. Always busy with a great vibe, delicious food and excellent friendly staff.

Ate here with the family while doing a quick one night in the city. Was fantastic. The staff was extremely attentive, especially to one of our party having an allergy, and the food was truly a standout for our trip (split pizzas and pastas between us). We even coincidentally met the chef post our meal and had a chat with her and she was a joy! Highly recommend!

Came here yesterday with a few friends, absolutely stunning food, every plate I had was fantastic. Excellent service too, really quick on getting our drinks to us when needed and food came relatively quick too! Staff were also really friendly and polite! First time coming here and I will 100% be returning here, one of the best restaurants in town.

A great dining experience. We ate on a Saturday lunchtime. From the friendly and efficient greeting at the front desk to the service by the server Kerry it was all excellent. The food was delicious, and very good value for food of this standard, both the ingredients and the actual delivery. Lively atmosphere too. Can't recommend this place enough. Well done Bacaro!

Visited Sunday afternoon for a delayed lunch. Inside was crowded but we were given a seat outdoors. Staff were kind and attentive without being obtrusive. Having been told "Small plates", we were surprised how much food arrived. We had to forego dessert, but there was a rich variety of dishes, all tasty, well-cooked and nicely presented. Good wine and a surprisingly small bill. Next time we're in Liverpool we'll be back...

Always great food, wine and service. Been here multiple times and even when busy the service and food is always great. Staff are always friendly and attentive. Last time we went in our waitress was from Bermuda and was very friendly and polite. Will be back for another visit soon 🙂

Visited early evening with friends who had come over from other parts of the UK. I had been here a few times before and emailed ahead to ask for a window table which they had kindly arranged for me. Food was delicious, we chose every vegetarian option on the menu, bread, and 3 deserts and we enjoyed every single bit. We had the table for 2 hours but were nice about reminding us to eat up and drink up! 5 stars all round and I will definitely be back.

Bacaro never fails to impress! They have everything right, the service, the food and the value. It’s rare to find a place that consistently provides all these things. Well done Bacaro!

Immense food. The Ragu was exceptional, pork belly sublime and the fennel salami was just melt in the mouth with subtle flavours. The only dish that wasn't amazing was the prawn linguine, but that might more be a reflection on the power of the other dishes. Ice cream used in the Affogato had the most amazing texture. Service was also super attentive.

My favourite Liverpool restaurant. Would highly recommend the goats cheese pearls and the lasagna :) The Hugo Spritze cocktail is delicious.

Been here many times and have loved all our visits .Came here on Easter Sunday with our son and his partner from Manchester. the Service was again excellent the food beautifully prepared, we had many dishes between us including the cooked meat platters, fennel salad and house salad not to mention the chicken liver crostini ,bread and olives washed down with some lovely wines. Must say a big thank you to Rob, Conner and Michael from behind the bar and also Jess our server. We would highly recommend a visit here, See you all again soon.

Food was good. Unfortunately everything hot seemed to come out all at once so was cold once we got around to eating it. As the cold dishes were sent out first.

Another fab meal here. So accommodating as I’d tried to change the time of my booking the day before which I knew was unlikely as it’s so popular. But they changed it for us. Rob is front of house and as always charming and funny. Teo was a waiter who was also so nice and friendly. The women who served us were also brilliant but didn’t get their names. It’s always the same. Wide choice of fresh stunning food but I really think the staff make it the ‘go back to’ again and again. Thanks. Back again in 4 weeks.

Brilliant customer service and lovely food, had booked a table for later in the afternoon but bacaronwere able to bring it forward 2 hour and great us on a lovely table. Felt really well attended to and the food was a great experience, tapas Italian is a great thing... lasagne and goat cheese dishes were stand out ... thankyou for a lovely family lunch

What can I say... fantastic vibe to this place, no matter what time of day you visit. The food is sooooo tasty, and always well presented. The staff are always, always, friendly, without being over-attentive. It's little wonder this place can get busy. Informal dress, if you worry about that stuff. Highly recommended, especially just to test out the well thought out tapas menu. A true nugget in the business quarter of town.

Courteous polite welcome even though we hadn’t booked a table we managed to get seated for 2 people. The service was first class, attentive but not overwhelming. The food was magnificent. The olives were the best I’ve ever had and I’ve eaten a few at 58 years old. All the dishes were hot, unique and all nine were a tastebud sensation. Definitely would visit again.

Came for our anniversary meal and the food was so delicious and service was great. We recommend the black pudding with chicken livers and the harissa lamb ragu, the sea bas was also excellent. The only thing was that it felt a little cramped on a table of two during the busy hours with other couples very close to us on either side.

The portions are positively enemic, a lot of liberty is taken with classical Italian dishes and the service is far below the level it should be.

What can i say, 5* ! We had more then the dishes in the photos and everything was mouthwatering, absolutely fantastic, and the service was great :). Shame we live in London and can't come here again next week. Definitely recommend this !

Very popular with youngsters, Tapas plates which I don't particularly like, but popular nonetheless. So busy it was noisy, obviously on trend with clientele. Food was well cooked and tasty. Service a little slow, but it was full, so things do slow down a little.

We had a good sharing meal and the food was very tasty and well cooked. The restaurant offered a special day time menu which was indicated in the price of the dishes - a good selling point.

Visited with my sister & daughter last Saturday. From the moment we walked in, the staff were so attentive, we were seated quickly at a lovely table near the back of the restaurant, with plenty of space to relax. Lovely varied menu, and the selection of dishes we ordered were well presented & tasted beautifully. An all round lovely experience x

Had a table booked for 7, got there half an hour early planning to have a drink at the bar and told we had to go elsewhere for half an hour as you need to book to sit at the bar as well ....and it was raining so not great ! ! ....ludicrous

Lovely place for lunch in Liverpool

Me and my girlfriend came here for our 5 year anniversary, she is coeliac. They were so accommodating and knowledgeable about gluten free, the food was amazing and the drinks were superb. I would recommend to anyone in liverpool coeliac or not.

Fantastic restaurant in the heart of Liverpool, tapas style small plates very reasonable price but massive choice on there menu,chorizo with honey, beef croquettes pizzettes calimari and prawns were all superb,staff very attentive and friendly even though they were super busy. A great quality restaurant with beautiful food well presented. The small plates and tapas are excellent and make for great sharing options so you can sample more from the menu. The staff are very helpful and accommodating especially a young lady called Faye. Would definitely visit again when in Liverpool.

This was the second time we dined at Bacaro, the first time was very pleasant with great service and the food was delicious. The second time we dined at Bacaro the food was still excellent however the service was shocking to say the least, after we were seated we waited 20 minutes before we had to get the attention of a staff member to take our drinks order. We placed our food order at the same time as we had already waited long enough. Our meals arrived before the drinks did, even though we could see our drinks waiting at the bar. We had the same issue with requesting the bill and paying, waiting 15 minutes to pay after we received the bill. Overall it was apparent there needs to be some floor management with the staff as they seemed all over the place and no one knew which patrons were served or not. Overall its an amazing restaurant but the service needs to be better managed.

We are fairly frequent visitors both as friends and with our respective families. Food is tasty, fresh, service very prompt and efficient. Food comes when it’s ready, which we knew beforehand, but it does mean everything can arrive almost at once, which it did on this occasion. No issues with that except there’s really no room on the table, so all a bit uncomfortable, Carafe of water, bottle of wine, box containing knifes and forks, then a bowl of olives, arancini, 2x pasta, trout dish and a board with a pitzette - all arriving more or less at the same time … I had to put the cutlery jar in the floor. No issue with quality of food, service, atmosphere, but you are a bit crammed in, and perhaps taking a few tables out to give people more space to eat comfortably might be an idea. Nevertheless, well worth a visit, we return for a reason!
