Great place to get a fish and chips! Staff were great. Would come again!

Working in Trevithick rd . And heard about this chippy gave it a try and wasn't disappointed the chips were perfect the cod was white and fluffy and no fat dripping off the batter like other chip shops 100% recommend

Friendly staff, we had fish and chips and it was all really nice, lots of flavour and a crispy light batter on the fish. Bleeding ansome

Fantastic freshly fried fish, chips are fluffy and cooked to perfection. Only waited 10 minutes for food. Staff are very friendly, highly recommend this establishment if you are in the area. They also offer dining in. Would travel the 400 mile round trip just to eat here again!!

The best Fish And Chips in Cornwall! 🧡

As we were staying in Chacewater we thought we would try Our Plaice and we were not disappointed I ordered fish and chips and the wife had steak and kidney pie and chips the fish was a generous portion and the best I have ever tasted lovely chunky fish and the whitest fish I have ever seen and the batter was spot on, it just covered the fish and it was not dripping in fat not like other fish and chip shops where they put too much batter on trying to make the piece of fish look bigger than what it is. Generous portion of chips which was not saturated in oil they were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside and the wife said that her pie and chips was the best that she had tasted and everything was piping hot which is very unusual nowadays. The owner and staff were very friendly and polite and I wish them all the best for the future. I forgot to say that their prices are extremely cheap and I would have not expected the quality and presentation of the food for what they charge and if you eat in as we did there is no extra charge. We had two coffees as well and it only came to £20.

Beautiful little chippy just around the corner from the little cottage we were staying at, great tasting chips and a lovely fish, friendly service too with a great load of history on the walls and plenty of VW stuff 😁

First time eating from this chip shop, found out recently I am celiac and saw they do gluten free options. The choice is great and they take great care and attention to dealing with dietrey requirements. Upon entering it was one of those rare feelings of being warmly welcomed even there customers was friendly and spoke to you, such a rarity these days. Lovely selection of VW ornaments and memorabilia to look at whilst waiting for your food. The staff were really friendly and it just felt like a proper good old fashioned fish and chip shop. Food was stunning even the gluten free options. First time having gluten free fish and chips and it was spot on. The kind lady even let my daughter have two lollipops! It made her day was all she spoke about on way home and she wants to try food from there also as it was just my wife and me tonight as the kids had MC Donald's. So all in all a definite repeat visit from me and my family and my new go to fish and chip shop. It's a 5 minute drive from in Truro but worth it. I don't know what they put in there gluten free curry sauce but it's beautiful. I don't normally leave reviews but I had to for this place Honestly 11/10 I would highly recommend

Went in for a take away on the 14th. Service was great very friendly staff. The source of the cod was explained. And my gosh what whoppers. I have to say was the best fish and chips I have had in years. It was the consensus with everyone that had the order. Will definitely be visiting again when next down that way. Thank you.

Such great people, friendly and happy, my kids love going and chatting. This is what a family chipshop should be. Your not just standing in a queue and being served by a robot. You can chat and laugh. What a great atmosphere. Go you won't regret it, and the food is great as it's cooked in front of you. Been to loads around Cornwall and Our plaice is best I been to in twenty years here.

What an incredible fish & chip shop. The food was exceptional - the lightest and crispiest batter, stunning fish and sausages along with the chips On top of the food the service was impeccable. We were welcomed with open arms even though they were having a tricky night with a broken fryer with orders non stop! But with the quality of the food and great service and friendliness you can see why they are so popular. 10/10 would go out of our way to come back here!

Down on holiday. Tried our plaice amazing staff, best fish, amazing food lovely atmosphere. Tried the award winning one but not as good as our plaice.

Best fish and chips we have ever had. Fish melts in the mouth, chips were perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside. We had table service, staff are very accommodating and the atmosphere is as if you are at home. Top notch! Would definitely recommend. 20 out of 10 stars!

We cannot recommend Our Plaice highly enough, the best chip shop we've ever been to! The service was very good, our food was tasty and I was able to get sweet potato fries! ,The potions were generous and there was a great selection on the menu, Very good value for money too!

This is my favourite fish and chip shop! The owners are friendly and chatty and I can’t get enough of the beautifully crispy and tasty gluten free batter! WOW. The gluten free fish and chips are just perfect here. The homemade gravy is so flavourful and the battered Mars bars (also available with gluten free batter, but mind that the Mars bars have barley in) are incredible too! My son tells me that the jumbo sausages and normal chips are amazing and he gobbled them up! Highly recommend this beautiful little place, but do call up to order, as they get busy!!

I went to our plaice on the Saturday 21st of January the fish and chips were extremely tasty Kay and paul are very friendly and the staff are so friendly also are willing to help with anything if u got any questions about the gluten free they are very knowledgeable I highly recommend our plaice fish and chips in chacewater .

We found this whilst staying in nearby Bissoe. It's one of the best fish and chip shops I've been in. Fantastic food, cooked fresh to order, so phone ahead and pick up 20 mins later. Marvellous. Managed to go back for a second visit during our holiday, it was so good.

Came across Our Plaice looking for fish and chips to eat whilst watching the sunset at St Agnes Head, which was amazing by the way! The guys were fantastic and promised the best fish and chips for mile. They weren't wrong either! Thank you for the amazing food and thanks the conversation. Had a really good laugh whilst waiting for our food.

Quite possibly the best fish and chips I have ever eaten, and definitely the best fish and chips in Cornwall. Large portions at a brilliant price. The fish was cooked to absolute perfection, as were the chips. We had originally planned to go to Kellaway’s in Threemilestone but they only cooked in beef dripping, and with a vegan, vegetarian and pescatarian in the household (sounds like the start of a bad joke) we couldn’t eat anything there. We are so glad that happened, otherwise we wouldn’t have given Our Plaice a try! Will definitely be returning.

Nice chip shop. Chips are good, menu very good. We normally eat from Kellaways in Threemilestone but they don't do meat pies anymore. Our Plaice have a better menu and you can eat in but the fish is better at Kellaways.

Yes the fish and chips has gone up in price but this fish and chip shop serves great size cod and chips which one large cod and chips would serve 4 people.

The food was great the staff could need to be better interactive with the costumers as they were a bit off putting. I am pleased to say that the staff are much nicer to the customers now and they made me and my little boy very welcome and they are very friendly and helpful and happy well done I would recommend this place to everyone.

Absolutely the best fish and chips around here - the owners are very friendly, nothing is too much trouble and it's always a pleasure to sit in and eat, or takeaway. I think it's best to ring and order ahead to takeaway, book a table to sit down - if you just walk in you might have a little wait but that's testament to the quality!. Superb fresh thick white fish and crispy batter - what's not to love 😍 Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

Phoned ahead. 7.30pm. Came to collect, as instructed, at 7.45pm. Still waiting 30 mins later at 7:15pm and then asked: "Have you ordered". 45 mins after phone order - with 3 walk-ins were all served before me, it was grumpily handed over, with no reference to the delay or apology. When it did arrive, the plaice over cooked and the cod undercooked (Soggy batter) Most of it ended up in the bin.

First time trying our plaice fish and chips tonight after being recommended to try it 🐠🍟 We'll all I can say is it was delicious and good value for money! The cod was huge the biggest I've ever had and full of fish and not too much batter! Spot on and tasted delicious! 👌😋😋😋 Lots of different options available definitely going to try one of the curry's soon! 👍 The owners and staff were very welcoming and friendly 😊 I will definitely be back next time and I would highly recommend our plaice fish and chips in chacewater if you are wanting fish and chips! I have an allergy to gluten and so over the moon to find a local fish n chip shop to offer everything i want. Called to place my order at 19.20 and it was ready for collection by 19.50. Nice and clean shop. Would highly recommend them.

Really good fish and chips the size of the fish is fantastic and was falling god the sides of the plate but even better was how tender the fish meat was. They have the motto here that they don't serve quick food its fresh food as quick as they can. So I would recommend calling ahead but either way it was well worth the wait

Customer service goes a long way and you won't get much better than here. We were on holiday for a week and the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners of Our Plaice is remarkable. We arrived late on a Saturday night and the local shop was closed so they helped me out with some essentials that they certainly did not need to do. Street parking is a little tight and they put some cones around my car to protect it. Very much appreciated. And the most important thing of all was that they not only do gluten free food which is a must for my wife who is a coeliac, they are in my opinion the best gluten free chips, fish and sausages we have experienced ever. We ordered 4 times in 1 week From myself and my wife. Thank you.

Our Plaice did us a wonderful big order of food last night and everyone really enjoyed it. Everything we had was perfectly cooked fresh and they even did us a lovely fresh g.f cod and chips which was great too. Top class fish and chips and the g.f curry sauce was amazing.
