Dined alone and felt a bit uncomfortable the whole time as one of the waiters was staring the whole time. The food was really good, but might have to stick to only takeaways from here.

A warm welcome on a rainy day was just the start to a very enjoyable lunch. Friendly and efficient service complemented the excellent food, with delicious garlic bread as a starter and generous portions of tasty pizza and excellent cannelloni to follow. Plenty of great coffee before and after the meal completed the experience. We will be back!!

This is the second time I have been here and I must say it’s fantastic, the food is amazing, the steaks and the sauces are excellent, great selection of food and wine, we came last weekend for a birthday celebration and they couldn’t of been more helpful, a great restaurant in the heart of Hove with great staff and amazing food many thanks

I’ve been going to Otello’s for 18 years. Today was my worst dining experience . Our garlic pizza bread was overcooked and exceptionally dry. Sent it back and again, bone dry with no flavour of garlic. The waiter spent more time on his phone than checking on customers. Sadly, after 18 years a loyal customer, I will not be returning!

Great experience at Otellos as always! We used to come here a lot years ago and haven’t been in a while…. We had a booking elsewhere for 7 of us for my daughters 17th birthday and were considerably let down with the booking… luckily Otellos found space for all of us, service was great, food was great, good hearty food, good portion sizes and nicely affordable. Will definitely be coming back here again.

Staying one night in Hove and looking for an Italian restaurant and found Otello and it proved to be a great choice. Brilliant menu - whether you eat meat or are vegetarian. For example, the pasta menu had 15 different sauces to choose from, and one thing we especially liked was that the types of pasta were listed separately so you could pair whichever one you liked - short or long - with your sauce. Big portions, tasty and served quickly - and we recommend the tiramisu too! Would eat there again if in the area.

We had a really lovely meal in this fantastic family friendly restaurant. The waiting staff were attentive and friendly. The food was extremely good with very generous portions and very reasonable prices. It had a cosy, family run feel to it and we will definitely go again.

We had a birthday lunch for my Son.We were given a set time 2.00pm to 4.30pm. There was about 22 people in our party so there were a lot of orders. The waiters were very busy and the food came out quickly. The waiters were not very friendly. At 4.30pm precisely the waiter started telling us to go and we were just sorting out our bill. They started seperating the tables not even giving us a chance to get up. My daughter was trying to work out everyones bill but became stressed as they were getting irritable. A very nice woman came in and told me she was the owner. She was very nice and offered us a table to sit and sort it out but we just paid the bill and lft to sort out later. I also witnessed the same waiter arguing with some customers that were still eating that they tried to take their plates away.

Haven’t been here for a while as we felt the service was not great. Well it seems it has got worse! The waiter got our order wrong and blamed us, he was rude, unfriendly and made us feel unwelcome and unwanted. We all ordered pasta and he said to me “Pasta?” I said yes! He said what pasta? Quite rudely! He also removed my drink before I had finished. This is the same waiter that served us the last time we were there I can’t believe he is still working. (I can’t believe we were unlucky enough to get him again.) My food was ok but I’ve had better

Had a meal last night Saturday night was my birthday the staff were were brillant they sung happy birthday to me best restaurant in hove of course italian nothing was a problem as always sat in the garden lovely warm eve well done otello always my favourite place thank u 😀

We had a lovely time. I rang up a few months ago to book and each time they were considerate as I added lore guests. I didn’t even have to pay a deposit. I was very grateful. They were kind and considerate. And the food was great. Couldn't rate this my higher. Thanks!

We booked an outside table but the weather was not good so we rang earlier in the day to ask to be seated inside. They said there was no booking at all. Anyway eventually he said it was ok and yes no problem with a table inside. When we arrived they had no available tables at all. Told us we could wait outside. We said no we had booked and you had said yes it was ok so the table should’ve been available. The manager then said do what you like and walked away. Another waiter moved someone else and we got a table. In this day and age you would think customer service would be so important. This manager was so rude like he couldn’t care less. I would recommend a lot of other betting places with the attitude of this one being unacceptable. A real shame.

Stayed in Brighton this weekend so came here for dinner on Saturday evening and was amazing. Polite and friendly staff and food is delicious, with plentiful portions. Would definitely recommend and will return when I visit Brighton again.

Came here a few weeks back, with some friends who we had not seen for a while, we were seated and immediately bombarded several times from different waiters about what drinks we wanted and What food… we had barely said hello to each other let alone picked up the menus. This happened for the next five minutes until we had to stop talking and order as quickly as possible, we hadn’t even put our menus down when a brash waiter stood right over us while my friends were still deciding, interrupting their discussion on what to get. I asked for a recommendation and basically got a shrug. Food came very quickly was average and a bit flavourless. While one of our party was clearly not close to finishing the waiters tried to take the plate. This happened again so my friend said they were done (they weren’t) we weren’t offered dessert or more drinks. While paying I asked if they get the service charge which is added on the bill, the waiter (possibly manager? Older man) looked angry and impatient and said rudely “I dunno” and walked off. No goodbye nothing. Gave 3* because had the service not been so unwelcoming, the ambience is nice and the food was reasonably priced and not terrible (although true Italians would say otherwise)

I went with a group of teenagers, the food was fantastic, generous portion and extraordinary service. The waiters were very efficient taking the order and the service was smooth. I am planning to go with my family in the following days. Highly recommended.

I last visited this restaurant some years ago, so this was a return visit as I was back in the area. There is an extensive menu and the pizzas were first class. I opted for tiramisu, and it's the best I've ever had - delicious....

Loved the old Othello restaurant, although considerable downsized the food service and ambience is still of the highest quality. The fillet steak was amazing and my favourite scallop meal was so tasty.
